Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

Well, they are with their bandmates 24/7 so I would understand why they would get a crush on one of them, even if they are not gay. I'm a straight girl but probably I would get confused if I'm with girls 24/7 working togheter, showering togheter etc etc. I think that an important number of kpop idols have had confusing thoughts about their sexuality and we should add that they are really young, and yeah your hormones are over the moon.

I'm not sure that's how it works, honestly. We know of the culture of very close male friendships in some of the all-male clubs which were quite common before WW1, but they went away and the whole thing became suspicious about the same time the homosexual entered public discourse. In short, people in Korea know what "gay" is, which puts a boundary there. That's the first thing. Second, straight men don't get crushes on each other. I can't speak about girls, but men can usually tell the difference between friendship and that other thing. They could jerk off together, that I can believe.

I will die without believing in Jonghyun x Shin Sekyung. I swear. It was definitely a cover-up for something, not Jongkey, in my opinion but maybe a) Taecsica b) Yuri's lesbian rumors.

And I really, really believe Jongkey once had something. Even if it was a one-week relationship, but they did. The way Key so clearly felt when the scandal happened isn't anything staged or forced. He looked really sad and avoiding Jonghyun. This is the biggest proof that they had something, one-sided or not.

There are three moments coming to mind in all this:

I heard there was translation errors with this though :/

I'm by no means proficient in Korean, but I did catch some words that were translated correctly, so I'm guessing it wasn't too off... Idk though >_<

People misunderstood Taemin's question about gender, which in Korean was unequivocally about the child. The rest seems legit.

I really don't think his behavior is purely for entertainment. It's just too much. It's too... Idk how to describe it. A lot of what he does, it's like he's compensating for something.

I can only speculate about his excessive behavior, but as for kkap Kwon... it's an extremely common coping mechanism to make people laugh with you instead of at you, and no matter where I look he seems to fit the bill.

I agree on kkap, it makes me very uncomfortable to watch it, honestly. Notice also how dejected he was when addressing his gay rumours. About Ga-in, it is said they are freakishly close friends in real life.

Ah, so it was about baby gender?

That's fun I guess, but not as fun  :hoplz:

Taemin was; Onew's joke and Key's... expression of hope are correct.

I really do worry about him sometimes @_@

I just get the feeling he goes "You wanna see a fag? I'll show you a fag." It made me think lesser of him, to be honest. Not any longer, but yeah, I don't find it funny.

I don't think that kind of behavior is really considered faggy in Korea though, is it? o.o

I think for most Koreans, somebody being gay isn't anywhere near one of the first things they assume about a person acting like that. Weird, crazy, mentally challenged... but not gay.

That's a good question, actually. It is a part of the whole subverting-gender-roles-is-funny-because-absurd package. When I contrast Kwonnie with Key and Sungjong, who take "feminine dancing" seriously, I get the feeling the relation towards one's gayness plays a role -- at least individually, even if others don't see it that way. But how the Korean public sees his kkap I would merely speculate, true.

isn't exo consist of 5 new members and 7 old members? if the so-called couple are REAL like chanbaek, kaisoo, taohun, taoris and kaibaek or whatever then they must be truly gay at some point because if you look back, the recent member only had been trainee for about two years for the longest-in this case, luhan- so is it possible for couple like kaisoo develop feelings for each other that fast? i heard rumors about kyungsoo is not so fond with moonkyu, kai's best friends. instead of moonkyu, kyungsoo is closer to Jino and kaisoo were put in as roommate because sm wanted them to get closer but i didn't know whether it's legit or not...just that i'm curious since we didn't know if kai is truly gay or not and for what i observe about kai, he's someone that very secretive especially with person that he didn't know well, that explain exo first impression of kai. He's cold towards someone new, and for what I've heard, when he was still a trainee, he didn't make friends randomly. he was very picky when it comes to befriending someone. He have his own standard, though....that's why he share pretty most everything with sehun, since he knew sehun chanyeol and suho for years already-let's put aside chinese members for a while- unlike other members.

and one more thing, kai is a loner..he always alone if you watched his fancam or pictures or even fanaccount, he always walking alone without caring about other members that's why when they first win, he was seen crying alone at the back before Taemin approached him....

if you're deemed gay, you can fall in love within second but in this case it's different.....what you guys think? can you develop feelings for person that you only know in a short period of time?

-sorry for my broken english, i'm not a native speaker

In other words, if Kai warmed up to him so fast, it's suspicious, that's what you're saying? Hm... That's quite an assumption. It could be that D.O. is simply an unusually compatible friend. He's unthreatening, which helps shy people. But they do seem especially close.

Ain't a gender thread, so no off-topic rants, please.

Anyway, about Ren...

loooooooool. okay uhm try watching these:

(etc.)

Welp. I can at least se why people would think so, but I'm not sure I think so, too. He has a feminine flair, Key-like laugh, and likes dancing fabulously. I just still can't get that... thing out of him. Hm, hm, hm. I'm definitely interested.

I know a lot of people think D.O is gay, but I just don't get that vibe off him. Like, part of me thinks he could be, but part of me thinks he's not really interested in men.... Idk.

I don't get much out of him either. It's not in him, it's around him, if it makes any sense. Not that I know anything, but there it is.

he really is an enigma because he did a complete 180 from his time during MAMA to Wolf.

(etc.)

That's not what I mean, I think. Let's say he's gay, for the discussion. He could change and flip about and go from bubbly to depressed, but that would be just a tiny thing changing. That's not what it is, that's not what I'm trying to see. There is such a thing as recoil, kickback, when one catches himself and and goes back to being less comfortable, for example. Sungjong was in such a slump for a while, too. Or maybe the concept just required "manning up". My trouble is just that I can let myself think this or that action shows something, but I'm not getting that center, that "essence". OK, I'm babbling.

yes u r. i literally couldn't understand a word of what u just said lol.

The point would be what one bases their feeling on, what one is looking for. He gives me behavior, but he doesn't give me the... vibes, as they call it. Or rather, not the ones I'm looking for, which may be the problem.

I think... he meant....

Like, if you look at Sungjong for example, he was really fab, but then suddenly he stopped. Everything. He seemed withdrawn and unhappy. His manlier behavior was clearly an act, while his happy little butterfly behavior was much more genuine.

With D.O, he doesn't seem like that at all. It seems more like his previous behavior was the act, not his current behavior.

Part of what makes his previous behavior seem like an act is that he wasn't uncomfortable with it. He reveled in it. He made a show of it. Korea is a fairly homophobic country, and I have yet to see a closeted gay Korean man be completely comfortable with behavior he knows will make him seem gay.

His behavior has changed, but it seems more natural now. It's possible it's just a switch in concepts, but it's pretty drastic.

One could think various things and come to various conclusions based on his gay behavior, but it doesn't seem like he's actually gay on the inside. He doesn't give off that vibe.

I'm not convinced that either is an act, I think it can be connected to the gay thing in various ways -- or it can be completely unrelated. That he seemed more lively before could be him being more himself than he is now. That's the kickback thing, the sudden fear he's outing himself of whatever. But I just don't see than center I spoke of before. It's the same with Woohyun, for example. There are hints, like his friendship with Key and how they talked about it and behaved, but he doesn't... call out to me.
