Hello there, I am new to this thread and after few weeks of lurking I finally made an account so I could join few topics. So as a new member I hope I will soon get used to everything and meet the members of this thread. I always wanted to ask for your opinion about EXO, do you really think someone from EXO is gay? I aways had a feeling that there are bisexual members but nobody gay because they all had specific ideal types and showed interest in girls before

I've also been following this thread since the beginning. I noticed that even the slightest mention of kaisoo, you'll have a few people attacking you. It's pretty much a taboo topic in all threads in OH except for kaisoo related threads. The question is why.

 

I understand the people that discussed the blind items without stating the names. Everything has to be vague but specific only to the two members and those who truly follow exo will straight away get who it is. The explanation is pretty much descriptive on the members. You only need to have a few ideas (even the slightest) about how sm and the industry works, then connect the dots. You know who. Someone on a youtube video got angry at me abd some other people when we talked about the possibility of BTS coming back with a boyxboy song/mv and she said it's impossible because it's korea and because they write their songs about themselves and they are straight so why would they do that? They said they like girls so they're obviously straight lmao Then I told her that just because they say they like girls it doesn't necessarily mean they're into them or JUST into them, because they obviously wouldn't say the truth like that in a country like that. And that they talked about other society problema so why wouldn't they do LGBT? No-one understands how it works. What's important to keep in mind is that it works above chance, i. e. certainly far from 100 %. One can be wrong. Even gay and bi people can be wrong. Speaking of LGBT gaydar, there is an interesting connection to being in the closet. For me, for example, the seeing is the same, but the reaction is far weaker now. It used to hit me like a mad truck when I was 18 or so.

"What's normal in Korea" has always been a part of the topic since the beginning, and I have seen a lot of input from users who claimed to be Korean or have reliable experience with its cultural norms. What's interesting is that their takes ran the gamut from "all Koreans are like that" from "even Koreans think these dudes are all flaming".

Kevin is so confusing because feels the need to #NoHomo even on other people's behalf, while at the same time being SO flamboyant you could see it from space. Pick a lane, buddy! 

 

Kevin isn't confusing, he's just actively closeted, i. e. it's obviously on his mind (a lot) and he's obviously not okay with it -- or he assumes (correctly or not) that people wouldn't be okay with it. I didn't mean I was confused about his sexuality (I think he's pretty obviously gay), just that you would think someone so anxious to stay closeted would try not to act so flamboyant on camera. And he's from San Francisco, so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing. It's just weird.

I had another fight with my friend because I told her about the flowers in the MV being LGBT symbols and she was so frustrated she even searched about them on google and apparently they both mean death and shit like that so I'm confused asf because I really remember Lillies being a symbol for lesbians but I didn't find anything about it wtf

I'm not trying to presume about your friend, but I get the feeling that for a lot of straight people still, being queer is like smoking for a non-smoker. Like, it's no big deal, I can tolerate a friend who smokes, just don't breathe it in my face -- and I'd never try it myself, because, well, smoking is bad for you. To be honest I thought this relationship would turn into a cover up story or something because if theirs one think I firmly believe it is that Taehyun is not straight. However, I am still worried is that why he is having emotional problems because I heard he is taking a break or something.

 

According to YG, Taehyun's had "psychological problems" since his trainee days, but recently they worsened to the point of him being unable to promote with the rest of the group -- thus he's taking a medical leave, so to speak, while Winner's comeback gets "postponed indefinitely". I'm not going to enumerate all the ways in which I believe this is morally suspect, but that's the gist of it.

I always seen yg as shady with everything I hope that Taehyun gets better but I my mind I feel like it was yg management that made him feel so bad or atleast contributed. In any case now this gives yg a free pass to say it was not his fault exit didn't get release. This is not the thread for it, but I think if YG wanted to cut him out of the group, he would have. There was no logical reason to halt Winner with him. SHINee's had comebacks with members injured and it went reasonably well. Given Winner's overall treatment, to the cynical me it looks like an excuse to lock an underperforming group in the dungeon and lowkey blame Hyun.

I'm not sure why. I know that's the case in some other countries as well though, like in Iran, if I'm not mistaken, the government subsidizes transition procedures and will change your birth certificate, but being gay/bi could get you imprisoned or executed.
