I'm not sure it says anything about his sexuality, but other idols liking LGBT artists have been discussed before, so I thought some might find that interesting. Anyhow, i love it when my sons appreciate LGBT artists tbh.

I agree with everything you said. I know that the discussion about SM idols is really OT, but i find them to be some of the most talented idols in the industry and i enjoy almost all their concepts and albums, even from groups I don't really follow, simply because they constantly try new and different things so there's bound to be sth there for everyone to enjoy.

 

I was somewhat uncomfortable with the dreamies' teaser as well, i think they shouldn't have gone for that sensual vibe, and were they in a club?? why were they in a club?? Mark is the only adult there wtf?? I probably baby them too much bc I'm much older than them, but that's how i feel tbh.

First of all, can I say that I really love this song and video. It’s amazing and I’m so happy to see it coming from Ten.

Second of all, I’m gettinf real Troye Sivan-ish vibes from it, but aside from that, the lyrics are certainly empowering- talking about overcoming fears and such. Fuck I love Ten.

Frankly, I’m not here for all those people who reduce Ten to his sexuality, especially non-lgbt who continue to make jokes out of it. It’s ridiculous, really, that it’s a thing that’s even happening. I’m also not here for the fans that insist he’s straight because he hasn’t said he’s gay, however. I’m not sure if I sound hypocritical or whatever, but it just rubs me the wrong way how they’re quick to turn down the possibility of him not being straight because he hasn’t come out. Considering the predicament he’s in, if he were gay, he wouldn’t just say it.

and before you say anything, remember that we've been asking this question IN THIS VERY THREAD (albeit on the original board this thread came from) since 2010 and earlier and the first idol to come out as gay AFTER debuting could very likely be some idol who has not debuted yet... 8+ years and not one existing idol has cleanly come out, not even key or jaejoong or heechul or even open-book drag queen jokwon. in fact, i'd almost deem it more likely will see several/many more "natural" gay idols (aka idols who were out immediately on debut) before we see any existing idol come out officially.

if the first letter had been J it would be GDragon (Ji-deu-rae-gon), but it's not...
it's probably either a similarly odd stage name or a foreigner-style name but i can't think of anyone back in 2010.

But seriously, Ellen is such an unabashed conformist. I know her shows are in the fun spirit but you can never expect anything other than lighthearted fluff from her. She's never that deep with celebs and defaults to hetero talk with everyone who isn't out. And yet she's the sort of person you know would probably get upset at being assumed to be straight by people who don't know her.

 

She's long been part of the Hollywood clique. On the other hand this is still a boyband largely aimed at straight women so I would in all honesty expect hetero answers and responses at times. That's their main audience.

 

I think we've been blessed to get the amount of open minded/gender neutral stuff we have had so far. And of course you can never rule out one day the peace in the fandom being shattered by one or more getting a real girlfriend or a beard for show or to keep rumours at bay. This is such big business.

you would expect deep questions from ellen? you know her whole thing which has done wonders for gaining LGBT acceptance in the US is always maintaining that positive, light atmosphere. it’s a very similar strategy to Hong Seok Cheon who has pretty much single-handedly pioneered whatever positive light there is on the issue in conservative-AF korea.
