I see people talking about Kaisoo so I wanted to give my pov on that : I don't get why people thinks that Kai treats D.O. in a different way (compared to how he treats the other members).

 

 

I do ship Kaisoo and I think they have a really interesting relationship but I always saw shippers putting a lot of on emphasis on the way Kai looks at D.O. and... Kai just looks at everyone like that so??

I think it was yesterday, someone on my Tumblr dash reblogged a picture of Kai watching Suho talking and commented something like "If that was D.O. instead, Kaisoo shippers would be losing their shit" and I think this is really accurate.

 

I'm a fan of D.O. since 2012 (and of EXO since 2013 I guess) and I definitely thought something was up back then now that I "know" the other members' behavior, I don't really see anything suspicious in their relationship.

All of this combined with how often almost every member has cock-blocked them/suddenly walked over to where they were when they start doing obvious stuff, and I just think, yup, they're together.

 

 

 

But with all that said and done, Sukai is cute as fuck as well. And so are other ships. They have chemistry with lots of people. I feel like...it's alright if people can at least acknowledge the chemistries they have with others/with each other. *shrugs* If a person thought they had no chemistry, I'd really think they're in denial/wonder what they count as chemistry then.

 

Like with any other OTP; some people might not think that Key dated that one model, or believe that Yunho and Jaejoong were together at one point, or Tao and Sehun etc.

 

Some people ship people who they see have chemistry with each other, some people ship those they think would look good together aesthetically, some people ship wild, out-there ships like Baekbama--whatever the ship, well, it's almost always real for the person who ships them, right?

 

I've learned of so many new people and have new ships just from this thread--so in a way it's cool how diverse shippers are/how people interpret situations.

 

And dunno where I'm going with this, so gonna end this post now.

Also, I don't know why you're talking about ships because that wasn't the subject of my post. Of course people can ship whoever they want and find that two (or more) people have more chemistry together than with others. But it's different to think that people looks good together (and write fiction/ imagine them together and sometimes delude yourself in thinking those people are together) and think that, because of some things that can't be ignored if you aren't heterocentred, some people might be in relationship.

 

You can ship Kaisoo, like I said I do too, but to think that in real life they have something? That's why I don't understand. I just don't see it, not like I can definitely believe that Heechul and Gunhee are together or that Key and PHS had something.

Long story short, it's not just that he stares at other members. It's the frequency, how often he stares at Kyungsoo, and how often it's at a random-seeming time when Kyungsoo's not doing anything attention-grabbing. Or how often he stares at Kyungsoo when he has a mic near his mouth, and he looks like he's thinking sudden dirty thoughts or something xD.

Two staring examples:

I acknowledge that he stares at everyone though. And hugs close to some, whispers close, whatever. And I talked about ships 'cause Kaisoo is a ship, and not everyone has the same ship or ships a ship in the same way. And that's okay.

It's just that, like I said before, you use the same arguments as every Kaisoo shippers, which isn't bad but I follow Exo since 2012 so I already heard this A LOT 

Sadly I'm still not convinced. There's only one Kaisoo moment where I thought "I can see it".

Something more... developped? I'm just really curious because I never met people who objectively thought something was going between them and all the kaisoo shippers that I talked to just saw them without imagining them as not-in-front-of-the-camera and forgetting that there is also staff, and family, and friends with them.

Like why do you think they are together? What do you think brought them together? What did they do to make you see them in a different light than all those others people doing fanservice and/or having that kind of behaviour? Do you really think they would be able to date someone in the same band? etc. 

 

If we're talking about shipping, then yes, it's up to everyone to think they have chemistry or not but if we're talking about something real, then I think there must be something else, something that can be ignored by people with a more "heterosexual" mind but not by other, you know?

 

By the way, this is really frustrating to try to really express myself in english... I feel like I'm saying just half of what I want to say and that's why I usually talk without bothering to really going in deeper conversation so I understand why you don't understand what I'm searching for

Yes, this is quite bothering. I think it's because Kaisoo shippers tend have a certain reputation so people think if you're talking about Kaisoo you're delusional and that's it.

And yes, so many people seems to be so defensive about Kai's heterosexuality! I mostly thinks his straight and just really affectionate to people he's close to but there's nothing wrong about thinking differently. Plus, it's interesting.

A lot of moments seem to be captured when they can't help their expressions/when they're not thinking of cameras around them. Like they often look like they're in their own world bubble. As to moments that convinced me that they could be more than friends...

Hugely, this moment:

Like Kyungsoo and Suho are just doing fan-service, so why does Jongin look actually like hurt by seeing it? That's what I thought when I first saw this moment. Then after he made this face, he laughed bitterly o.o. I know of no platonic friends that would care like that/or at least a person who didn't have a huge crush or something caring if his friend was getting fan-service neck nuzzled xD.

 

Things like this:  ...are so unnecessary if it was just fan-service imo. They were in an interview but decided to stare at each other instead, and Kyungsoo gulped o.o.

 

There are way too many moments that put together, leads me to thinking they're more than just friends. If all of it was fan-service, they would have to be the best actors of all time xDD.

 

But what makes me think they're not just acting are times when they're doing their coupley thing, spot a camera and then immediately stop whatever it is they were doing. If it was fan-service they'd probably keep doing whatever it was they were doing/play it up even more, right? But they don't. They tend to do stuff when they don't think cameras are on them, ya know?

   That plus the jealous looks, (To my knowledge, jealous looks aren't a part of fan-service.)

 

the unnecessary staring, longing looks, touching, caressing, whispering, being in their own world, proud looks they give each other etc--it just reminds me of couples in real life.

 

I think it's always possible for band-members to date each other. At the end of the day--they're still co-workers. And co-workers date all the time, whether in the open or in secret. As to being able to--same thing, 'cause people always find a way.

For that part from Luhan's interview where he says what if he gets too immersed into the role--I literally saw it as a joke o.o. Not like a "What if I become gay?" joke but more like a "What if I'm too convincing?" joke.

Of course, yea they'd probably want out of the idol life/know all the shit that would happen with coming out but they'd have to have thought about it for a really long while. Things can change, some people may surprise us all.

But the thing is if it was just holding hands, I don't they'd specify gender, wouldn't they just be like holding hands with a friend? But the speaker wanted to emphasize two genders. I guess it could be risky, but other songs even from Kpop idols have talked about crushes or being in love with the same sex. Not like sooo many but at least more than...maybe 5? xD At least, that's something, right?

With all the lyrics there, yeah I'm definitely sure that the song is about love and that they could be bisexual too~

Everybody assumes all idols are terrified of coming out, but tbh I bet there are plenty who would come out if their management would allow them to. The problem with the idol industry is there are a looot of restrictions, and the companies are afraid to lighten those restrictions because they're afraid of losing money. I'm actually hoping now that idols are allowed to have "confirmed relationships" more and more, and they're allowed to run their own social media accounts and stuff, maybe the restrictions will lighten up in general. Random but today a teacher was talking how she was accepting of gay, lesbians, transgender but not bi people. Wtf... Her reasoning: because they think they can get the best of both worlds. They should choose only one. If they have no preference they should choose only one gender.

Bi/poly/pan people are not trying to "have their cake and eat it too." Not every bi/poly/pan person is even into open-relationships or polyamory. Lots of bi/poly/pan people want monogamous relationships too.

 

It sucks how some people still seem to believe the stereotype that bi/poly/pan people are more promiscuous and/or willing to cheat, when literally like anyone of whichever sexuality could be. Just...Ugh.

 

Sorry, it just gets on my nerves too when people say that they'd accept every sexuality but bi/poly/pansexuality :/.

Uh well not everyone may have great gaydars. Even if they're gay themselves, saying that right off the bat. I think developing a sense of who's like you and such just comes with practice, it's not really like an ingrained thing, unless you've been around gayness your whole life, I guess.

 

For me, I'll just see a person, notice how they act around say the same-sex, and if something stands out in a way that...resonates with me somehow, then that person pings for me.

 

It's like...imagine a green radar; a red locator whirls around looking out for anyone that could be LGBT+, then oh, there's a dot on the radar. And another one. And another one, then holy heck--a lot of dots are showing up on this radar xD. Some blink (Could equate that to the possibility of said person being LGBT+) while others are permanent dots (99% sure that said person is most likely LGBT+).

 

For some people, they ping because they're literally fabulous and fit gay stereotypes to the T, while for others it's 'cause of their interactions with the same-sex. The looks they may give, the touches, words, confidence vs shyness around the same-sex etc, that would make them ping for me.

 

 

And for Suga, the general consensus seems to be that he's Pan. Also hi to you too haha.

 Pansexuality is very similar to Bisexuality; like think of Bisexuality as the umbrella, and Polysexuality and Pansexuality would be 2 subsets of it. Pansexuality is basically when a person doesn't care about the gender. The person of interest could identify as a guy, girl, non-gender, two-gendered, gender-fluid etc. Doesn't mean that a pansexual would just fall for anything as long as it moves though, 'cause that seems to be a misconception some people have. Bisexuals can be interested in those who identify as a guy, a girl, even in-between as well.

A lot of us I'd say kinda inferred that he's bi/pan from this one time he was on a radio show with Zhou Mi from Super Junior M, and he talked about qualities he likes in a man. And then there's his line from Cypher Pt 3. And something else I'm probably missing.

We acknowledge when an idol checks out another guy, but if they check out a girl, some people say it could only be fan-service...

 

Some idols may actually be bi, not just gay and pretending to be bi. I know it happens sometimes where a gay guy has thought they were bi/said they were bi to try and seem straight-passing or something, but there are also a good amount of people who identify as bi and actually are. Not like many idols have even really acknowledged the possibility of them being bi (Besides Lee Joon and Suga, I guess.) but it doesn't mean they can't be.

 

Checking out someone else can be fan-service or just acknowledging another's attractiveness but it also be just plain ol' checking someone out, in a sexually-interested way o.o.

 

The thing about marriages...I see different arguments here on this thread and I get them, like if an idol says they want to marry, they could be of any sexuality--that's a fact. But when it comes to an idol saying they wouldn't wanna marry (Even if their society could see them as gay), they once again could be any sexuality. I think it could peak a person's interest though, definitely.

 

 

Anyways, thankfully no one on this thread has assumed every idol is straight or something for a while. (Holy heck, what if I jinxed this?)

This is my first post there and I would like to ask whether you have any thoughts about Kai of EXO ,because when I saw him for the first time I just thought that he was just sexy straight boy who is soo shy with girls and I found this really cute .Actually he is my bias on EXO and I started to observe him more watch his interactions and behavior etc. After all, I would argue that I was wrong and he is not as straight as I thought , and it's not just about All Those kaisoo things, because i just dont think that they are real(relationship) although it may be something in it. I wouldn't say either that I am 100% convinced but I am still surprised, given the conviction for other 'pairings' that so few people consider them a real possibility.

I was honestly surprised that in one of the vids, that one homophobic girl said she sometimes has to hide she doesn't support homosexuality. I always imagined South Korea be like my country where pretty much 95% of the people are homophobic to some extent, so homophobes can freely say anything and not worry about anyone thinking they are a bad person because most people are homophobic anyway so they will probably agree with them.
