LOL a lot of star couple got caught, but if Myungsoo and Sungjong went on a date n hold hand hug each other, it would just be considered hyung'maknae relationship lol, so basically they can be all out they want on dates as long as they dont kiss And honestly YUNJAE is legit, hong seok choi basically said it AND right now I believe this is the second most legit pairing by far!!! I was going to say something just like that actually! I have very mixed feelings about it I think. On one hand they can be really touchy with each other without it becoming a huge thing; but on the other hand it's almost like their relationship is being invalidated by people. It's not that I would want them to get in a scandal, or be outed, because I honestly wouldn't wish that on anyone. I think it's just the glaringly obvious double standard that pisses me off? Like, a male and female idol are seen together holding hands and suddenly the media declares that they must be dating. But then take a couple like Myungjong, who are just as obvious, if not more and they apparently don't count as a couple because they're both guys. Like for instance, an article was just released about Myungsoo "dating" this girl named Kim Doyeon. The article hasn't been translated yet, but some of it is so ridiculous I swear. They own the same shoes, a bracelet and a T-shirt, so this means they must be dating. If that's the case, I must be dating a hell of a lot of people, because I'm sure there are copious amounts who own the same clothes as me. It seems awfully unfair that I'm dating that many people and I'm not getting laid tho. In all seriousness, the timing seems awfully... suspicious? Like, right after all those celebrity dating scandals are released and an article about this just happens to come out. I mean, on the slim chance that they really are "dating", I kind of feel sorry for her because it seems like her "boyfriend" is cheating on her with his band mate... Edit: Also, is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of damage control happening around suspected gay idols right now? I mean, more than usual. You've got all the overcompensation with Key like his life depends on it. You've got Heechul saying he wants to meet a girl prettier than him and clarifying that he really does like girls. Jaejoong got into a "scandal" with a girl that turned out to be his sister... and now this. I don't really like the same item argument or get that into it because the items could be worn by the whole band, they share the same stylist. I don't see it as anything concrete and it sure as hell could be true that if two people have worn the same item or have a matching piece of clothing that they could be nothing more as bffs or just liked the same thing and decided to get it. However, it is looked over when two are of the same sex because "they aren't gay" or "It's fanservice" but if two people of the oppoite sex wear the same thing and all of a sudden they're heading for the altar. To be honest, I think it's largely due to "couple culture" in SK. Like there is a whole range of couple shirts, couple shoes and couple accessories that people seem to buy when they're dating. That being said, I have only seen it used as "proof" in regards to "couples" of the opposite sex. I've seen shippers of same sex couples occasionally cite couple clothing as evidence, but I have never seen a whole article written about it. Also, from my understanding, couple clothes are bought when two people want to show off that they're in a relationship. What idol couple in their right mind would want to announce that they're in a relationship?? It's a surefire way to lose fans and in an industry as cutthroat as the Kpop industry that isn't a good thing... Anyway, as far as I can see, according to the Korean media: people of the opposite sex cannot just be friends and people of the same sex cannot be dating under any circumstances... ever. I can't say for sure, but that was my first thought. The thing that made me the most suspicious was how she lay out the tweets. It's not even like they were slightly cryptic, they were laid out plainly so that anyone with half a brain could "decipher" them. I'm not at all ready to be coherent, so hopefully this isn't too much of a clusterfuck. Initial reactions aside, I've realized the more I try to understand this... the less I actually do. THEY'RE DATING. NO THEY AREN'T. YES THEY ARE. NO THEY AREN'T. There just isn't enough concrete evidence either way to prove that they're dating or that they aren't. Besides, as we've mentioned countless times in this thread, dating a girl ≠being straight. I can hope that Woollim's statement will shed some light on things, but I don't really think it will tbh. I think i'll be more inclined to believe all this if we get a photo of them together, with both of their faces showing. I think the safest thing I can say, is that it's Myungsoo's life and if he wants to date a girl, it's his business. If he's doing it to hide his sexuality, or if Sungjong ends up getting hurt, of course I'll be really upset... but once again, it's his life. I mean, I've invested a lot of my time and energy into speculating about his sexuality and his relationship with Sungjong, but isn't that essentially what this thread is about? It's all speculation and none of us actually *know* whether these idols are gay or not. Hell, even Key could be straight... though it's highly unlikely. Until some of these idols come out, we have no concrete way of knowing who they're attracted to.
