I keep stumbling across interesting things for Namjoon, so here's a compilation of stuff that's made me question him for a long time now.

• recently he’s talked a lot about how during the earlier days he was still trying really hard to appear tough and crass and pretended to be someone he isn’t (remember all the weirdly explicit and sexual pre-debut songs), and how he finally let go of that and has generally become a lot lighter and happier and also really embraced his cute side

• has been relatively evasive/neutral with his ideal type answers, described an outfit that Yoongi has literally worn

• wore skirts on several different occasions

  I'm hesitant about putting this one in because it's a pretty far reach, but, well. It sounds like he’s talking about a fellow musician, but BTS doesn't work with any female producers or rappers, whereas Yoongi was the one who got Namjoon to feature on this track (interfering in his solo work?)

In a professional setting Namjoon always seems very aware of the impact of his words and actions and how they come across. It’s especially apparent in the recent US interviews, which must’ve been considerably stressful, because there was a whole lot of heteronormativity and bullshit thrown at them and Namjoon usually had to go along with it, and he definitely knows about the differences in how Korean and American society interprets certain statements and actions. But he was a lot more relaxed and open when he knew the interviewer or when it was clear that the interviewer was open-minded as well (see: "love between genders", him not objecting the "boyfriend or girlfriend" thing).

 

Also potentially interesting, right now he seems to be meeting up with a lot of his older friends in the industry, like eAeon (that’s his dog), who has helped him with questions regarding misogyny and feminism before, and MFBTY, who founded FeelGhoodMusic and signed MRSHLL (an openly gay singer) as one of their few artists. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s using this time to talk about recent experiences and where to go from here.

 

 

Namjoon generally makes an effort to surround himself with well-educated people and tries hard to educate himself as well, and it’s anyone’s guess how much of it is altruism and how much might be additionally driven by personal struggles, but I feel like all of these things put together are saying...something. There’s no doubt that he’s at the very least a strong ally, and I can definitely see him becoming more and more outspoken in the future.

Soooooooooooo does this mean that every gay man who's ever said Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna, etc. was their "queen" and called them, gorgeous, sexy, hot, beautiful are now suddenly bi/straight?  
You can think that someone is stunning and gorgeous without being sexually attracted to them. They're not mutually exclusive concepts. Even I admit I was not expecting RJ's daughter that like. Doesn't mean I wanna bang her lol but I do think he's a gorgeous woman.

I'll never understand why some fangirls are so obsessed with their oppars being straight, like do they not understand that either way they won't ever date them?? Idols/celebrities are really out of reach, why some fans think they'd date them is beyond me.

Part of me thinks half these fangirl shippers are hating on Suke is because 1.) He's much older than Sehun and 2.) He's not "handsome" or sexy like there oppar's are.

Kai's onstage persona is very fuckboy-ish. Constant smirking and he dances quite sexually. Idk if you've ever seen an EXO performance but I recommend watching a few (from one of their concerts) so you can see how he acts. And then you can compare and contrast with his offstage persona. Very quiet + shy and he doesn't smile/laugh a huge amount (especially compared to those like Chanyeol or Baekhyun). Recently he also talked about his personality himself:

So I think some people use it as "evidence" because his image is very "straight fuckboy" but he's really nothing like that offstage. I find it pretty interesting but he's not my bias so I don't pay a massive amount of attention to him, maybe someone else could help?

Kai and Jongin are two very different people. You described it perfectly. Kai is the confident, sexual fuckboi while Jongin is the shy quite, wants to be by himself type of guy. Two totally different people. People think he's like a male lead in a romance drama. Cool, calm, confident that is until you see his off stage personality and he's the total opposite. When you see that side of him, you understand why he's close to Taemin and Kyungsoo.

Exactly! The most an ally will do, as far as my experience goes, is support us and maybe join an gay straight alliance type club or something. Some read and watch lgbt media but not on the level Namjoon does.

 

You know. Looking at all the evidence and how Namjoon has acted in the past, it all makes sense. Some, not all but some, gay men  who are scared to admit they are gay tend to act overly macho and hyper masculine. The first few years of BTS and even back his predebut days, Namjoon was a pretty masculine guy (or he at lest tried to act that way) 

I remember the days when he wore those sunglasses...him acting like a badass while hiding such a cute face...

Lets not forget some of the songs he wrote and sang either ("Take it off now girl. Just take it off."  )

And don't even get me started on his previous stage name either (Rap Monster...Rap...Monster) 

You look back and it's like you can see how hard he's trying to be such a little badass. Skip forward to today and while he still has his badass moments, he's gotten a lot softer. Like he's broken out of the cage he kept himself in and is now being more himself. He's more open to being cute on camera and wearing more feminine style of clothing and hair colors (though I do miss the black and white...) . He's VERY open about talking about lgbt medium he likes and even subtlety mentioning lbgtq people in what he says. Hell, even changing his stage name from Rap Monster to RM (Real Me...) 

A lot of this stuff isn't too in your face at first, but when you look at the big picture it becomes pretty fucking clear Namjoon isnt just an ally. And I might be reaching with this one but the Loveyourself campaign and concept make a whole hell of a lot of sense when you put this into it.

That's men. They literally fetishize (sexually). That is, as long as they fit their ideal types. Show them a butch lesbian, and they'll run for the hills.

 

From what I've seen, women don't do it as much, except outside of ships. Too many of them genuinely believe these guys are straight, that they "can't" be gay (I've read this waaay too many times in comments on different platforms). They ship them, but they "know" ships aren't real and can never be real. That's how the thinking goes.

 

They are so certain in their belief that everyone in their belief that ALL the members of their favorite group are straight, you would be shocked to see the extents they would go to prove it. 

It truly astounds me that there are fans out there that ship their oppa's together with each other, yet say their oppa's are 100% straight and will defend their oppa's suppose straightness to the death. It boggles my fucking mind.

Idk, I can see BTS doing a gay concept in the future. One that was subtle but not enough where you couldn't tell what they were talking about. Maybe it's wishful thinking but with RM being so open, them now reaching massive popularity, and several of the members being questionable, I don't think it's that crazy of a concept now.

I feel like I say this a lot but it honestly is true. I know many gay men who love Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, hell even to female kpop idols like GG, CL/2NE1, etc. and act just like Jungkook is acting in those videos. Heck, one of my friends I've known since middle school told me he'd go straight for Gaga XD He was kidding though but that does tell you that gay men can admire sexy, beautiful women. 

That doesn't mean this is 100% proof that Jungkook is gay, but it's also not 100% proof he's straight either. 

None of us will truly know unless he explicitly says he is

I think it's because if you were to insinuate that most or even all of BTS are gay/bi you'd be label delusional. If I could, I would honestly say that all of them are not straight. They all have gay/questionable moments, some more than others but you get my point. 

It's not IMPOSSIBLE for Bang PD to form a kpop group with just gay/bi men, but I highly doubt it.

I know it's not the best time to be speculating but I think him and Jonghyun were honestly together.

Jaebum - He's said homophobic comments but honestly some of the stuff he's done with Youngjae is sus. But let's go with straight because he'll likely never come out.

Jackson - Bisexual. Loves men and makes that clear.

Jinyoung - Gay. He's very private but I've never seen him attracted to a woman before. Pings for me in general.

Youngjae - Straight.

Bambam - Straight (I think this might be an unpopular opinion?)

Yugyeom - Straight/bi. Honestly idk.

 

I don't follow them closely, so that's why I'm kind of iffy with Mark. Also I think a few months ago my opinions about them were different to what I have written in this post, so this is liable to change.

I can't stand Edward. Ever since the Pristen incident, I haven't watched him since. Just out of curiosity I decided to look at his latest video on the Holland matter and just...ugh. COuldn't even get past 30 seconds of the video. Seriously, it seems he has a problem with representation in kpop. Here's his comment under the video. 

 

I want to remind people that I was talking about the KPOP industry. Some people are saying there needs to be diversity in the media to portray minority groups in a positive light which i 100% agree with. However I think movies and dramas would be a better medium because it actually gives people the resources to portray these “different†people in a more positive and real way through acting and having them in situations that can change maybe close minded viewers thoughts and opinions in a positive way. Idols dont really have the same type of platform to be able to do so i think. Yes we can see them as cute loveable adorable little idols but their main job is to release good music and performances, which will make them money and allow them to continue to do so, not make political statements. I mean unless thats their shtick lol but again idk if thats gonna put money in their pocket lmao
