I mean... None of us know him personally. He could be anything. You and I would be the last to know.

Charlie and JK collaboration was one that was not needed, I also don't get how he is popular in SK. In regards to his queerbating, he is just doing what he sees in Kpop and westernising it. His over the top enthusiasm and fake support for the LGBTQ is what annoys me the most. He is a cloud chaser, but he doesn’t limit himself just to BTS.

I'm not a Charlie fan, he does what he does to put food on the table. But many K-pop fans live in this sort of perma-bubble of assuming their greatest enemy is the West, at all turns, and western artists are the only ones out for clout. And poor little sweet cherubs in BTS are mere bait.

Like BTS or EXO don't know how to play the room. BTS have literally been plundering your piggybanks for nearly a decade now. Wise up, lol.

How many versions of the same single or album does Charlie put out compared to BTS/HYBE? Or how much plastic, unnecessary polluting merchandise does he force on his fans to make even extra cash? And how many times do BTS step in and rebuke their own fans for the bullying pile-ons ARMY do to artists, non-entertainment people, women and anyone who doesn't know who they are?

I love BTS but they're not saints, they're businessmen, and they also know exactly how to feather their own nests, via western or non-western artists. Jungkook, etc, will do what is needed to stay ahead. If people saw him as an equal to Charlie they'd know he is as capable of using Charlie as much as Charlie is of using him.

But they seem like genuine friends to me, and flirty and comfortable to boot, which I think is what a lot of the hate is really about. Woe betide Jungkook has interest in/from any male not dictated as 'the one' by his own fandom.

I agree, I think if Tae really moves to another country, it will most likely be a country with LGBT rights.

Spoiler

Out of all of them RM had surprised me the most lately. I always had Taehyung down as a candidate to be on a flight out of SK post-BTS but actually not RM, who seemed more devoted to Korea than ever a couple of years ago. But recently he seems to have expressed acute frustration and although I'm sure some of it is the ongoing muddy govt/enlistment situation (they will get to know far more behind the scenes than fans and the gp do), there's a sort of general weariness about him. As if he's really disillusioned and perhaps needs a total change of scene, where hierarchy and rules don't matter. And your time off work means time off. And not work via another method. It's only a vibe I get off him but hey, we'll see.

My other possibles for a flight out in the coming years: JK, Yoongi (may low-key do it in his own time and just not tell anyone). I wouldn't be that surprised to see Jin relocate eventually, retraining as a chef or something.

But yeah, RM came as a surprise of late. I thought he'd seemed quite settled. I remember that he liked Chicago and expressed a desire or musing about property there. And all of them seem to like Japan and New Zealand.

Spoilered as not LGBT specific.

It‘s somewhat off topic because I just think it‘s really funny and don’t take it seriously but why would they use this picture of Yoongi like it‘s giving… homosexuality lmao

It‘s even better because Yoongi posted this himself HAHA

they're wearing the same fit

well it's over

They're not even in proportion to each other.

Some sasaeng spent two weeks microediting this thing only to fall at the first hurdle - that being that 'so in love' are looking anywhere but each other. In a private setting yet in front of a 'camera'.

Whether they're dating or not, and I suspect the latter, this pic ain't it.

this has to be satire right? why do they have to look at each other in a selfie together in order to be a couple? this honestly just seems like scrambling because, once again as i've been saying, nothing has actually indicated that this is all fake, instead it's people reaching in hopes of it being fake, finding everything they can to disprove this possible relationship when i'm sure if you showed any non-kpop stan these pics without watermarks they'd be like "aw cute" and move on.

anyways, i've moved to taehyung bisexual camp. just makes sense in my mind.

No it's not satire.

It's called having been around the block a few times and seeing a poor edit when it pops up.

Her stance is overly theatrical and exactly the stance of her public persona for fans and her job. Not the stance of someone in a private setting whilst being photoed by someone else (!) taking a picture of them taking pictures of themselves. The setting and context makes no sense for 2 human beings conducting an under the radar relationship whilst allowing themselves to be photographed posing as if onstage, in a private property.

Context is everything.

Duplicate post.

But just to add, if you want to buy this fine. You seem a bit pressed that others don't see much in it but a tbh, pretty poor looking edit. Unless you made it yourself, so what? Tons of these things hit the Internet every day.

And I thought that Taeyong's creepy comics were the limit.

Now we have 'homophobe' Jennie pinning Taehyung down and nobbing him with a strap on every night. 👀

On a lighter note, the latest 'couples' photo of the pair of them is duff as well. Someone has omitted to edit out the reflections in the mirror behind him of another lift user/s bare skin and a bluish top.

Whether they are an item or not, which I'm not here to dispute, (because who knows right?) these edits are not the tea imo.

Imo, it's nothing up to how the SK government have used BTS as a Korean PR bandwagon. Everywhere they go they've done something specifically South Korean. I can well understand some of it but other things have seemed really contrived and just convinient for Korea's image abroad. We know they have some kind of ambassadorial arrangement with their govt, and no doubt other public celebrities do too.

ARMY castigates and clout-shames musicians and anyone who dares work with the group. But the biggest user and abuser of this group, and other artists and sportspeople, seems to me to be their own government. They never DON'T seem to be working for a soft Korean power agenda imo.

565k views... omg. The phenomen of Taekook ship always amazes me. What's also intresting that Taekook shippers believe Taehyung can't be bi.. If there's really something going on between him and Jennie (and it seems to be the case based on leaked pics) then there's a high possibility of him being bi and yet all shippers think Jennie x Tae is a scam while believing in a romantic relationship of Taekook because their hands disappeared under the table.. 💀

If there's anything 'going on' between them it's not via these 'leaked' pictures. Folks are being led up the garden path imo. His head is badly grafted on in some of them and they've chopshopped parts of legit pictures and supplanted and superimposed them. It's clever but they've made mistakes.

I'm not against Tae being any sexuality, dating anyone he likes, and if Jennie is currently that person, then that's lovely. But these pics are a joke. There are numerous debunks all over the place but I can see with my own eyes that proportionally they're off somehow. Someone is going to great lengths to seek clout imo.

obviously whether you believe the pics are real or not is your choice but im sorry some people are wayyy too in denial… if these were photos of tae + another man (or maybe even a girl that everyone likes or a non celeb girl) the majority of ppl (esp ppl here) would defooo believe the pics are real, it’d be all “there’s no way they’re edits they’re way too realistic” “where’s the original photos then?” “hes defo gay/bi. these pics are real” but bc it’s him and a girl (or maybe just specifically jennie) so many ppl are like lmaooo these are so obviously fake - even tho we do not have original photos and the likelihood of multiple photos being THIS well edited is not that high - yeah him n jennie are defo not dating…. like i’m sorry but come on now. idk whether they are dating, idk whether the photos are real, i personally  do believe they are, and if ppl don’t that’s fine, but i think they need to admit it’s not bc of the fact they’re “badly edited” cos they’re not but it’s cos ur in denial 💔 and either don’t want him to be dating HER or dating a GIRL in general 🤷‍♀️

Ye gads, I wish you'd read what I put and not rushed to grind out your version of me. But thanks for the psycho analysis from your chair. It was... err, helpful?

If was like, a twelve year old superfan, you might get away with all that. But you're talking to someone who you don't know, their background, their career, their training, nothing.

Am I JUST allowed an alternative opinion to yours and your merry band of hanger ons?

My shoulders are broad enough to take these sorts of 'you jelly?' statements (though Tae is not my bag, or bias) but I could ask you why you are so deeply invested in these pictures being a beacon of truth.

If you want to die on the hill of garumbiharibo or whatever they call themselves, please do. As I have said, I have neutrality about idols dating who they want because it's their lives, not mine.

That is a separate issue from just believing everything you see pouring off of Twitter. Perhaps you'd care to brush up on defining the two concepts rather than lumping them together.

Whilst I respect the 'it's a Korean thing' I also think it's somewhat unwise to lump every idol under that banner and assume they all always act to the letter of their society's parameters or whims.

Of course same sex idols fall in love, mess about, and date in and out of their groups. We're having the wool pulled if we assume it to be impossible. People who like each other find a way. It's not going to be in massive numbers but it will happen now and then.

There's never the same reluctance to throw heterosexual idols together (cough!), on little to no evidence. Or (splutter!) fake evidence. 🛸

The ongoing drama about Tae or Jimin being possibly bi happening while Hoseok is out there hanging out with JoKwon and Co. minding his own business is hilarious tbh

Gurl, try being one of us long-sufferings gently trying to tell people on this thread that that light-up Bi flag in 'Daydream' was in fact, a Bi flag, and not 1. a dept hiccup 2. bought by a staffer who didn't know what they were looking at 3. a knitted teacosy 4. a mirage.

Honestly, I'm still fighting against the tide here.

The only useless contribution I can make to the above argument is that (ironically) I can actually see Future  Taehyung ending up in Britain, splitting his time between the Burberry outlets of the South East, and living in Cornwall. On whose mystical hills he will pad all year round barefoot or in flappy sandals with the dog, his painting easel and a straw boater, the torture of K-pop a distant memory.

BTS already converted Yet to Come to a WC song as part of a Hyundai campaign

The real sticky situation is that Jungkook alone seems to be involved in some promo filming for the WC (flew in to Qatar and everything)

Going to ruffle some feathers if he's the only one who does something extra for the WC

Weverse mag probably trying to make their stance clear / sprinkle PR dust before the confirmation?

I really hope Jungkook doesn't become the poster boy for peoples moral outrage with the Qatar authorities or politicians. But I fear it'll happen given the way things quickly spin off into finger wagging at completely the wrong people over most things these days.

Sigh.

Some gay men have 'gay voice', some have a twinge and others don't have it at all. Life in all it's varied glory. Seems like a good thing to me. 😊

if anyone's interested you can read in-depth the controversies surrounding this edition of the world cup here

i'm sure jungkook and his team will spin it as representing korea on the international stage yada yada yada.

this is a bit mean of me but honestly, this is going to backfire on them beyond their questionable morality here. this isn't like the superbowl; football audiences really don't care about the opening ceremony and jk is probably going to get the piss ripped out of him internationally. i hope compromising his morals (if he has them) is worth the momentary flex because he's not going to be winning any fans over from die-hard football fans.

They will, because that's all it is to them - business.

It's not always good if you're a fan of human rights, but it also gains these countries huge trade deals and ongoing political links. It may not mean a jot to people in here but Jungkook and the rest of BTS...oh lord I've said this for forever - they are clearly nice people, but this is also huge megabucks. And one that got wrapped up at a SK government level many years ago. Every time these boys go to the US for example they do 'Korean' things no matter where they are. They receive govt-sanctioned awards and are always shilling Korean brands; chairs, cars, tech, cider, you name it. They've become walking adverts. They, and fans, all know they're working for their govt as well as working for BTS. But I'm also conscious that Jungkook doesn't make the rules. He's a small cog in a very big wheel. While many Western people will rain down condemnation on him, many Asian people will say 'what's the fuss?', 'he is represeting our country'. It's his/HYBE's call, based on his parameters, which may or may not be all his own by free choice.

And yes, people are right, apart from a few nebulous overtures he's never spoken out about gay rights. Should he though? Maybe fans should lower their expectations imo.

If people don't agree with Qatar, do what I'm gonna do. Just don't watch. Stand by your principles and don't fall soft and squeak the box on because you just have to see Jungkook perform. Take up knitting. Dye your hair blue. Learn Norwegian, anything.

"Cold truth is idols aren't there to be your personal comfort, they don't have to "represent" you if they don't want to, idol culture has never been about that and if you're truly that desperate for some representation then please do turn to musicians that are openly part of the LGBT+, there are plenty of them (Holland, Lil Nas, Troye Sivan, Dove Cameron, Hayley Kiyoko, Rina Sawayama, etc) because trying to out people or assuming because of what you take as "Little Hints" is just wrong."

👆This.

It's great fun to speculate, debate and have opinions on forums like OH, but it goes too far when you're camping out on an idol's personal account or basically screaming on his/group/associates Twitter and stating that he's a dead cert 'closet case' and it's 'so obvious', etc.

I don't want to rag on my peeps for the joy of it, but many western fans esp. now tend to be brought up in the 'validate me' culture. Where your favs are expected to drop all and come running to somehow co-sign your sexuality, your mental health struggles, your politics and morals, and ultimately your very existence. South Korean male idols are all supposed to marry up to a liberal, westernised, mostly female, often non-binary, gender neutral view of the world.

Some idols manage it better than others, but it honestly must seem like a wall of shrill harpies pretty much directly deciding their sexualities for them on Twitter and Weverse every day.

The 'stay in your lane' and 'don't break the Fourth Wall' mantras are there for good reason, and which is why places like this exist. So that people can discuss, argue, blow off steam, theorise, without getting in J-Hope's face. When you need an idol to mirror 'you' and you're out there trying to goad him into coming out, or you're all over his friends accounts shouting about 'how gay is this y'all?' - where they can all see your noisy antics - then it's time to go away and touch some grass.

For balance, there are also of course large sections of fandom who are desperate for male idols to be nothing but 100% straight, and who go to insane lengths to prove that. These also routinely break the Fourth Wall in their quest for heterosexuality, and so seek their particular validation.

And who is always in the middle of it sitting back popping popcorn and egging all sides on?

The companies. Who basically create fake perfect boyfriend personas for as long as they can, whilst encouraging same-sex skinship. In a culture where virtually every male idol must eventually face military duty. The same companies facilitate a good deal of the fan wars and trends, courting both LGBT+ and straight fans and allowing them to play off against each other as long as money is coming in. In the midst of all this pressure and drama, actual real people exist, trying to be whatever they are.

All that super invested people have to do is take a moment to imagine Jo Kwon, Jennie, Lisa, or Jungkook, etc, at the doorstep of their own house yelling at them night and day, following them to the shops or school, or harassing their friends nonstop. If that rightly seems insufferable, don't do it to the idols.

I would also add EXO to the list of multiple queer members. There is a member who I shall not mention in fear of summoning god knows what. On the other hand there are Suho and Kai.

Just sey it. 😅😉
