There are deep friendships between westerners that never become sexual, and no doubt more transient ones among Asians, and vice versa. Yes, societal conditioning applies but many people don't conform to type. Yoongi and Pearl probably are platonic friends who are well in tune with each other. Spoiler A few years ago I did see a supposed 'sasaeng leak' about one of BTS dating a (unspecified) BH producer. Though take with usual caveat/large pinch of salt. But in the unlikely event that Yoongi was openly doing this with a woman, the Internet would have melted by now. It wouldn't just be being discussed on here and a few Twitter shippers. Every major mainstream section of ARMY would be going ballistic. Because the overall perception is still that two men cannot ever go beyond platonic friendship. He's a true progressive and imo his support of LGBT rights simply mirrors his support of women's rights. His interest in queer media isn't necessarily an indication he's queer himself, but he like, wants to understand queer people on an intellectual and emotional level, because he wants to be a good ally for queer people around him (potentially, including some of his fellow members). I said that we’re generalizing not stereotyping, it’s two different things! And based on that, yes I’m saying that it’s not black and white when it comes to friendships. Some intl fans find it odd and go nuts shipping idols just bc they’re holding hands etc but dare I say those fans usually come from America or maybe even western Europe (in my experience) where friendships between males aren’t as.. touchy I guess. And there was another guy that i forgot his name, older, who got exposed by his wife for cheating on her not just with women but also a guy. I have tea on 2 (maybe 3) Chinese celebrities but I need a bit of time to think about what to share/how to word it. C-ent fans can be very aggressive and I think some of them used to hang out here... I forgot the whole story about Aaron Yan drama, I thought he didn’t cheat and it was more a jilted ex? I do know he was outed either way though.
