So I'm wondering if he said that because hes actually LGBT and then said "theres no romance in my life" to cover it up. Or if hes actually straight and genuinely doesn't see men in a romantic sense, so the idea of him being romantically involved with another guy was off the table.

Thats not to say that if he was LGBT that he would automatically have a crush on a male friend (obviously), it's rather the way he phrased it that made me think it was weird. But then again it could be the further. Because, it's not like he can outright say he had/has a crush on a guy.

Overall Lee Know has allways been a curious case for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was anything. Although I think him being lgbt is slightly more likely that him being Straight.

He always says the "I'm a professional idol, there's no romance in my life" thing, so I'm confused about this case lmao. But there was something on Twitter, someone had a different translation I guess, that made it seem like he said he was a guy so obviously I didn't have a crush on him. Plus both him and Felix laughing makes me think that's what it was supposed to sound. (but also, idk, watch changbin lmao)

I mean not saying anything about him, because not like he could say "he was a guy but not my type" 

I don't think he's straight either btw

 

Also someone needs to tell me who Hanbin is, because the last 5 pages is about him lmao, is he from that group that didn't even debut yet? Do those poor boys have pages and pages about them here before even debuting?

Hello everyone, I have been reading the thread since a few years now, I think I started at page 260+? I was a silent reader and didn't really want to join in on the conversation as I don't really like to debate but now that the thread is a bit slow I thought why not and bring back a little bit of movement, so here I am. I'm gonna write for every group that I have either been a fan of, or that I saw a lot and am comfortable enough to tell my thoughts. English is not my first language and I'm trying to be as formal as I can. I have more than 12 years of liking kpop. I started kpop with Shinee so let's begin with them. ( This is my opinion don't be rude if you don't agree please) 

Anyway let's begin: 

-Shinee : do I have to talk about Key? Besides him, I really do think that Jonghyun was either bisexual or hetero curious. The others are either straight or good at hiding their sexuality. I only ever doubt Taemin once in a while but that's it. 

-Super Junior: Heechul always gave me bisexual vibes as he showed a lot of interest in both male and female. His relationship with his "best friend"and Momo comfort me in that choice. Siwon is a big enigma. He's so problematic but at the same time I'm wandering if it's not internal homophobia? He showed some signs of being interested to male before, but we know that he's a very religious person, and if you're gay and grew up in a religious family, you know how confusing and scary it can be. The others don't ping to me.  

-2pm/2am: Same thing as Key, do I have to talk about Jokwon? In 2pm, the ones that are making me questioning are Jun.K and Wooyoung. 

-Exo: About Sehun, I would be very surprised if he ends up straight. The way the members mentioned a lot the fact that he isn't interested in girls, the way he himself doesn't hide his attraction to men, his relationship with the chef a few years ago. I know he answered that question in the live but I always thought it was a way for him to get a diversion from the rumors or just simply to protect himself. The other one I'm pretty sure is Kyungsoo/D.O, I won't go into details but I'm pretty sure he is very attracted to men and is ok with his sexuality. The ones I'm questioning are Xiumin and Suho, mainly because of Leo and Suho's best friend. 

-Staying on the topic of Vixx: Leo is gay. They're just so much evidence. I have doubts about N, but I can see him as straight. -Bap: Daehyun? Nothing more to say it's just his vibes. 

-Infinite: Sungjong , don't have to explain. Woohyun is a question mark. 

-Got7: Well, I see Jackson Wang as someone who won't put too much thoughts about the gender of someone if he's really attracted to them. He's either pan or straight imo. 

- NCT: Ten is obvious. Taeyong too. The one that are questioning are Jaehyun, Jongwoo, Hendery, jeno and Jaemin. Note, I really do think that Doyoung's brother may be attracted to men.

 -BTS: oh boy. I'll start with Suga, it's obvious that he is bi, showed many signs till this day. Mainly because of his style and mannerisms, and personality overall, I'll say that it's a possibility that Jimin may be attracted to men. Taehyung/V, I know that it's a possibility that he is dating Jennie, but I'll be honest, I really thought that he was gay, of course it's possible that he likes both male or females, but I just can't remember any moments where he showed attraction to girls, on the other hand, the receipt for him being gay are endless, so it's very confusing. Namjoon/RM may be a surprise in the future but I'll say straight for now.

-Seventeen : Scoups, Joshua, Jun and Seungkwan . Well, it's the same, just a vibe. I remember scoups hinted at him being bisexual though

-The boyz: Q and New are gay it's obvious. I'm pretty sure Younghoon may be attracted to male too. Of course I won't talk about Kevin. Their ex member Hwall pings too. 

-Block B : The one that pings are Taeil and P.O. 

-Big Bang: G dragon is bisexual or pan. 

-Nues't: Ren, won't say more.

Now onto the "newer" groups: 

- Stray kids : Minho, I love how everyone seems to agree that he's gay but no one has concrete proofs! Felix gives me bisexual vibes, Hyunjin and Jisung are questions marks.

 -Ateez: what a fruit bowl of a group. Everyone but Yunho, Yeosang and Jongho are attracted to males for sure. I'm pretty sure that Hongjoong is the same as Suga. Overall they all seems pretty chill with their sexuality, which is great. 

-Enhypen: Sunoo is so comfortable with his sexuality it's so beautiful to see. I can see Sunghoon as attracted to both genders but he's less confident than Sunoo for sure. Heesung can ping sometime but I think that he is straight. 

- TXT: I agree with everyone, Soobin is so fruity there is no way is not gay. I'm eyeing is friendship with Q too.  Yeonjun is a question mark. I'm leaning towards attracted to both genders for now. 

At that point, those are the only boy groups that I stan for 12+ years. Then came boys planet and ZB1 as a breath of fresh air. So endearing to see a group like them being created in front of our eyes and loved by many. I'll end the post with this group. If you want an opinion for anyone else let me know. 

-ZB1 : Hao and Hanbin are the one I'm 150% sure they are gay. And them being respectively center and leader, oh how happy I was.  And it's beautiful to see the mutual feeling they have for each others, no matter if they acted on it or not. Their mirror/soulmates thing is so pretty. Two gay men on top of the new generation, lovely. As for the others, Jiwoong is attracted to male, you don't have to question is relationship with Seobin to see if he likes men or not, just search for his older contents from his old groups and you'll see. Him being a bl actor is a bonus. Taerae pings me. That's all.

Side note: After encountering many podcasts where gay korean people talk about being lgbt in Korea and in the industry, I have to say this. I know shipping isn't well received here, but we can't deny that it's possible that a member can develop feelings for a fellow member, people fall in love with  their coworkers everyday , some even risk their careers with fraternising, and no one bats an eye if we think about it. It's bound to happen. Ships, they are a factor to take account when you're discussing an idol's sexuality. Some of you won't even consider to talk about an Idol sexuality because the receipt are from a ship. Being an idol doesn't mean you're suddenly not human. You see them everyday too, you're bound to develop feelings, it's natural. Some are better at hiding than others, that's all. They're all human, if they both have mutual feelings, it can be possible that they act on it at different point. I have to say though, of course I'm not talking about the delusional ships that are made up just for fantasy. I'm just talking in general, they are idols that are dating outside of their groups, and some within to a certain extent. It's life, we don't know what people can do for love  ( I'm open to talk about it in DM, don't attack me I won't answer in public and make the thread a fighting place)

I really agree about Jiwoong, he pings quite a lot in his older content, especially pre-2020 (pre-2019 even more so). Then he had a bit of an actor reboot and got a more mature image and he started pinging way less. It's way more subtle now, but i still think it's clear that he's attracted to men (though he might be bisexual, not gay imo).

I agree on the others you mentioned in ZB1 as well. And i also agree about ENHYPEN's Sunghoon, there just is something about him that gives strong bisexual vibes.

Cravity really is just out there quietly living their best gay idol lives (edit: as much as a male idol can anyway) and you can’t convince me otherwise. tbh with cravity, i feel like they're on their own weird middle ground of popularity because they quite literally have a comeback every 3-5 business days and apparently it's because kakao are big investors in the group so that's how they're producing so much discography at a rapid pace. they're even on tour rn. but also, starship is not that small either. after i think about non big 4 agencies, i think about cube and starship next. even monsta x are kind of like that where they're neither the top group nor unknown

Honestly I'm a bit fearful for Haobin, wondering where they'll stand after ZB1 debuts. Are they going to be turned into the fanservive ship of the group? Would it be too dangerous for the company to have 2 legitimately gay men doing that? Are they going to be separated and interact way less? I'm curious to see where that heads to.

Because the shared clothes stuff is more often than not designed to bait fans. Real relationships stay as private as possible, until they spring them on the world. Netizens have a notorious appetite for Sherlocking what they think are tiny clues pointing to intricate relationship hints. And in a world of similar clothing/accessories, fakery, forgery, P'shopping and all manner of other PR or fan fluff, it's easy to convince some groups of fans looking for links that x idol is dating y idol/person.

In the West, some Larries are still doing it with Louis and Harry of 1D, though much less so because 1D had had its time in the sun, and fans of the couple drifted off into other groups. But there is still a small, vocal minority convinced celeb-lifestyle hating Louis is infatuated with narcissistic, celeb-loving Harry, finding links between clothes, song lyrics and supposed movements. It used to be worse though, they used to think the their family and friends were making secret squirrels to Larries via their Instagram, etc.  Many still think Louis little boy Freddie is someone else's child. Though he appears on Louis and his families time lines often and clearly looks like his father. Yet it continues, and so too it continues with Netizens and their desire to see Sehun hitched with x female or idol, whether he really is or isn't.

I don't know how to couch this nicely but...they lie. Honestly, South Korean idols lie like they breathe air. 

There are a bunch of them in the closet, clearly. It's undeniable by now. Some deeper than others. But they lie and lie through their teeth because they have to - for career, convention, family, etc. So you're going to get mixed messages and signals. I know British celebs who lied through their teeth about being lgb, deflected, back peddled (the above-mentioned Richard Armitage was also one of them, falling into the deflection category rather than lying). And that was in the happy-clappy land of Legal Gay. So I can only imagine the pressure and strife South Korean-based celebrities and civvies have to go through. Made worse by an unpleasant, cold and rather weird new leader, encouraging the ever-present extreme Christian sentiment. 

Lee Know is very sweet. His group got him a rainbow cake for his birthday and that was donkeys years ago. I posted it here. But years later you come back and find the same idols still doing the riddlespeak, and nothing has changed. It's also totally his call, but this ain't the liberal West of entertainment and until, if ever, SK relaxes its attitude to same sex in the idol world, and I mean truly, not just shipping or allowing more rainbow cake, we will be here speculating forever. Also the genre won't mature in that direction because it won't be allowed to by convention and by many fans.

Again, it's interesting, but at best flaunts with a notion without being openly specific. You can take or leave it. For some it's a sign. For others it's pretty lighting. 

I made my mind up about Yoongi a long time ago and not based on lights or bracelets. But the timing is interesting and for the theme/colours he would certainly know how it would be perceived by the public and online gossips.

It's such a mess!! Prom is truly sick though... The others are just meh. I have to say that I haven't like Nanon for a while, he looks too entitled to me. It's just my perception of him though and I might be completely wrong but that fight from last year didn't sit right with me.

Mark is right when he said that people will move on to other scandals because everyone has skeletons in their closets, albeit some are worst than others (Prom sweety... you're a creep)

This was discussed a few pages back, but it really does look like Wake One Entertainment is going forward in pushing the Haobin ship pairing to the fans. One might think it is risky to do so with idols that have allegedly queer pasts, but remember that shipping is a large part of K-pop fandom culture, and Mnet heavily pushed these two as a dynamic duo throughout Boys Planet. Not to mention these two are the most popular members of ZB1(both in South Korea and internationally), and their joint dual fandom is just as big and strong as their individual solo ones, so I definitely think the company is going to capitalize on that.

That being said, I also do not really find their interactions or friendship/relationship to be forced or fake either? Like, they feel very natural, genuine, and believable to me? Of course, we do not know what happens behind the scenes, but I have definitely seen popular K-pop ship pairings play up and exaggerate their interactions and relationships/friendships in order to feed and appease shippers, but I do not really get these kinds of vibes from either Han Bin or Zhang Hao, especially when you compare them to Thai BL couple ship pairings(and also the fact that actual gay men would probably not be comfortable doing that kind of stuff on camera). Plenty of eliminated Boys Planets contestants have said that they are that close offscreen/off camera as well.

Also, the two of them were caught holding hands together backstage where no cameras were supposed to be, so take that as you will. But honestly, most Haobin shippers I have come across are not really delusional or toxic(like Taekook levels), they take their interactions very lightheartedly and in good fun. No one is really making conspiracy theories on how these two are actually dating or overanalyzing their relationship, they just simply enjoy their friendship and want to support them as fans in the long run.

i think the difference in haobin shippers and other popular ships is that bc of the gayllegations that both of them have individually people think that there's a very high possibility of them actually liking eo so there's no need to constantly find "proof" or "evidence" as with many other ships where the interactions can be seen more as them simply being really close friends bc we don't even know if they lean that way

of course haobin could just be friends even if they're both gay or they could not be gay but people seem to mostly genuinely think they're into each other and almost want to protect them instead (bc then the shipping starts entering outing territory)

it reminds me of ppls reaction to matthew saying that hanbin still has hao too if he were to choose him, instead of people being like omg proof that haobin is real!!! there seemed to be more of a reaction of slight discomfort and saying matthew has no media training (not hating on matthew and people found it funny too, just pointing out the reactions to that whole thing)

but of course there are also those who are just the same as taekook shippers and only care about the ship being real

this is just how i've interpreted the reactions though, maybe i'm in an echo chamber or have misread things so feel free to disagree

I want to word this so that it won't start another war on this thread, but what impressions did taehyung dating jennie leave you? I am curios since we all believed him to be gay. Did this make you change some of your assumptions about other idols or people in general?

I am also curios about what do you think about sexuality and how do you guys perceive it. Recently a friend of mine who was out as gay since i knew him came out again as bisexual and although i am happy and glad he got to understand himself more, i am also very surprised since he told me he never had any interest in the op sex before. Do you guys think sexuality is fluid? And what was you experience with sexual fluidity in your lifetime since now? For me i always knew i am attracted to both sexes, although much more to the same sex, like 80% let's say and it always stayed that way since puberty to now.
