What I don't understand whenever this conversation regarding androgyny/what features are considered feminine comes up is why we pretend like gender roles and stereotypes of presentation don't exist... I know everyone in this thread is Woke AF but the rest of the world just has not caught up. If we are to abolish these stereotypes and preconceived notions of gender we need to acknowledge what they are, rather than disregard them. 

I'm not saying all or most straight men like Jimin because they're attracted to him or think he's a girl, but if you've ever watched those "Jimin Effect" compilations many many men DO comment on how pretty he is, some saying moreso than any other man they've seen. Not just youtube reactors looking for clicks but security guards and people who have interacted with them as well. While it may not be politically correct, this is a common thread of straight men being taken aback by how pretty Jimin is in a non-traditionally masculine way.

Also, if there's nothing wrong with stating men can have androgynous/'feminine' features and still be secure in their man-ness, why is there always such a pushback to identifying those features?

I agree that in order to say that someone is androgynous, you would have to mention both genders. However what constitutes as feminity or masculinity is something I don't agree with you. Not all women have soft facial features, not all men have hard features or even have muscle mass the same as others. We all come in different sizes. And when it comes to emotions, shit I know woman who are so rationale and hardcore logical that they would never make a decision based on emotions. I have known men that are at ease with their emotions and show them clearly. It's not about being woke as fuck, it's about not using antiquated indentificators to asses when it comes androgynous behaviour. Yes Jimin has soft facial features, but that doesn't make him effeminate perse. For me what makes him more androgynous is about his clothing and his style of jewelry and make up. He clearly doesn't care about generic male/female clothing and just wears what he is comfortable with. 

Also, of course guys who dance ballet aren't always gay. I never thought it like that. I was mentioning in regards to his fluid movements that can constitute as feminine, when in reality it's just how they dance.

I don't agree with those standards either, what I am trying to say is that those who are not as foreward thinking as us perceive him that way. It goes beyond just his physical appearance; it's his demeanor, performance, way of speaking, etc. We do agree on what constitues his androgyny.

Fuck I am 90% sure Taehyung and Yoongi are dating. I am not going to try convincing anyone (you see it or you don't imo and I'm not here to campaign or something). I know it would only fuel a shipping war and this is not an invitation to contradict me with Taehyung's other ships' "prooves" : I've been following the group since 2015, I've seen everything there is to see.

I also know there is a taboo surrounding shipping : all I've got to say is that, in 5 years of being a BTS fan, I've never "shipped" any member before I started side-eyeing Taehyung and Yoongi sometime in 2018. But if you feel like negging me because it makes you think I'm a stupid delulu, I mean, go ahead.

I'm just posting this in case other people here also think so or have their suspicions?

Nah I was referring to when someone said Jimin never made any statements about or defied gender roles and when I linked receipts I got negged. I'm not targeting you specifically just making a general statement, that's why I didn't want to quote you

Tbh shippers of every single ship in BTS can be so convincing. They make hour long analysis videos and you are like huh???? that actually makes sense.

True, for a hot minute when I started getting into BTS I got so sucked into jikook shit or namjoon and Jin.

( Although to be honest sucking on someone ear doesn't make it easier to inform jikook shippers that they are not hooking up)

See I'm more willing to believe in Taehyung x Yoongi or another "rarepair" (although I don't know if they're all that rare?) than the big ships like Jikook or Taekook because they're just..... so obvious. Like I've seen arguments that they're 'hiding in plain sight' and are safe to always be assumed brothers (which I guess I'm proving right now...) but would companies REALLY take that risk by letting the couple be all over each other? Idk

Even though I think JK is most likely straight I'm always like you make a compelling argument good sir,...

The only ship I 100% believe in is/was Yunho and Jaejoong.  Those two were sketchy.

Honestly I'm wary about discussing it. I'm serious when I say I'm not trying to convince anyone or campaign for a ship. Also there's not one moment or one action that would make the point, it's just a long succession of suspicious things that keep piling up. I probably could but I've seen people try to tackle the subject of them at some points in the past (notably in 2018) but the discussion always turned into a shipping war or the shipping taboo debate so they didn't insist. I mean I don't mind being contradicted or people disagreeing on fair points but if it's to be answered with "delulu" or get swarmed by other Taehyung's shippers...

But for the context (where I'm coming from) I've been following since 2015 and for my first post in this thread about multiple groups in early 2017, I said none of the BTS ships looked suspicious, that they were all obviously platonic. I started noticing something between the 2 of them late 2018 (at first I just thought that Yoongi had a crush on Taehyung that's it) and it escalated from here (I started finding them really sus in 2020 I think). In retrospect I now think they started dating late 2017/early 2018.

Delulus are annoying but they only really bother me when they attack other people for not believing their ship, which is not what you're doing. I'm very curious especially since those are the two members with the most receipts of being mlm

It’s just interesting to me because I think Yoongi is likely straight! I’ve been a fan for a long time but never thought anyone aside from Tae was gay. 

Edit: Jimin could possibly be bi but I’m not convinced yet.

I would also like to add that the CYZJ era was the period of time in which I have seen the most geniune side of Junhui. And that most viewers also noticed that there was something between them.
For example, when Jun debuted as MC and Yanan, who was in hiatus for a while, traveled to congratulate him and they took the opportunity to go out and celebrate Yanan's birthday.

He knew Jun is very sentimental and that probably a gift like that would come straight into his heart. (Jun is not someone who likes material things, his brother and friends have talked about it before, Jun likes things like handwritten letters or moments that are going to remain in his memory) He is very caring and thinks of others before himself. It was very precious on Yanan's part to give Jun something to let him know that his support was helpful.

The ship is cute, but I do think Jun and Yanan focus more on the person than on gender.

+ Jun has said that he feels very nervous when he is around women but that does not indicate any sexual inclination.
+ They did flirt a lot on their social media and on the show. To the point where his own teammates joked about it.
+ They also got a little shy after flirting in person. But we couldn't say there was more than a friendship between them.

+ I do want to point out that Jun has made it clear that he appreciates the beauty of male bodies. For example Wonho's body. And the fact that on the first chance he had, he said openly that Yanan was very handsome, he also compared him to an angel.

A little bit off topic, in some case like the fashion industry, especially male fashion designers and male make up artists, this type of assuming is right. I work in fashion industry, the rate of gay male fashion designers is 9 out of 10. This is the reason why I really have to laugh whenever someone said there is no LGBT idols because they have all talk about idea types of girlfriends (male idols) or boyfriends (female idols) at their early debut.
