Which male idols do you think are gay?

On a side note:

This is so funnyXD knowing Kevin. This has the same energy of people shipping Sehun with female idols.

They also talk how some people genuinely believe they were dating and used as evidence the times when they made eye contact during their show.

❤️  Gotta love Kevin.

It's a good job they weren't at a variety show and they...

1. stood next to one another and shuffled their feet. 2 In a hot, crowded hall under layers of synthetic clothing and makeup, glanced back and caught the eye of the other (as well as other idols but sshh!, forget about those). 3 uttered the same word the other uttered, in a language where you're likely to utter the same words (aka, any language). 4. wore the same designer bracelet, easily available from the local boutiques and which loads of people are also wearing (but sshh!). 5. own a glowstick-shaped perfume bottle resembling a picture of something the other had in a Vlive, some four years ago, in what was not even his personal studio. 6. both like pink, dogs, and garlic.

Or all those other obvious pointers to a serious heterosexual relationship.😏  Based on the reasonings of people who love to tell LGBT to 'not assume sexuality' but who jump to make links on the most tenuous of evidence.

Any thoughts on 2PM?

I am especially curious about Junho because he seemed homophobic. He and other actor won an award for best kiss. They were the only MM couple and it seems that it was mostly for laughs. In an interview he said he felt humiliated by getting kissed on the cheek by a guy. Such fragile masculinity!

If you mean the kiss with Nam Goongmin then no, that translation is being twisted to hate. He did not say he is humiliated, but rather he was embarrassed/shy because this is his first kiss from a man and the kiss was ... moist. They were quite a bromance duo and every year there are news about them supporting each other.

https://www.allkpop.com/article/2017/05/2pms-junho-talks-about-his-unforgettable-kiss-scene-with-nam-goong-min

One thing I need to point out - even when one is being adverse to same sex skinship, it does not make him or her homophobic. Some people genuinly dont like skinship.

Thank you! Honestly i didn't search for more translations. I just looked at the first one that I found.

what goes on in SM entertainment...is that fanservice sells. I'm not gonna call it queerbait bc I don't think it goes that far but I mean we all know that these images are just meant to appeal to fans as sexy and exciting. I wouldn't really call this stuff LGBT-support. It's the equivalent of a magazine cover placing two well known actresses in an "intimate" position, has nothing to do with LGBT and everything to do with sex sells.

i don't get why people act surprised about this or praise it as something revolutionary or whatever. SM were literally the first to use homoerotic fanservice in the kpop industry to make money. It's nothing new coming from them.

Most of what intl fans think is "support" coming from companies is just business strategies and SM is not the only agency guilty of this.

Re; that video posted above. The 'Namjoon secret child rumour' is quite interesting. Pretty much all boybands have waxed lyrical with each other on camera about families and kids. He either has a child, or (possibly most likely) rabbits on about future fatherhood all the time, or they tease him because there's some perceived barrier to him having one, at least in SK. Which may be no more than being in a boyband and not having the same freedoms to openly date and put down roots as in other professions. BTS tease each other mercilessly and sometimes this stuff could well be banter and not that deep. A 'let's make him squirm on camera, hehe' moment? I remember Harry Styles used to rave on about wanting kids and hasn't got one to this day when all most of his less vocal-on-the-subject bandmates started having them years ago. He's also the one who attracts the most gay gossip and is all but in a glass closet.

A few years ago I'd have agreed with people who thought Taehyung would toe the line and marry a woman and have kids to conform. (He and Jimin clearly love children.) But now I'm not so sure. I think he's seen and done the world too much. He's seen life beyond BTS and traditional conservative SK so if he does end up marrying/partnering a woman and having children I believe it'll probably be for genuine reasons, because he wants those things. And if he does it with a man it'll be for the same genuine reasons imo.

The decks are stacked against any man having a marriage and family with a man in South Korea. But it's a big world out there. (Edit: it's fair to say there will be SK LGBT+ couples living in family units. Only without the legal protection/s and recognition they deserve. It makes life harder but we know it wouldn't rule out a family life with a same-sex partner.)

I agree about the multi rumours. It's not helped by the number of K-pop Predict type accounts all over Twitter and Curious Cat. There are literally dozens of rumours on any K-pop idol you choose to name. And tons of fans desperately hoping to see attractive men and women paired together at all costs. The maknaes in any group are a prime target for this.

Taehyung mentioned the idea of him having a kid for the first time in five years a few months ago and he said “if I have a kid...” so 1. He’s not certain anymore and 2. Singular, back then he said he wanted FIVE lmao. He is clearly not the same person he was when he was a teenager; gay, bi or straight. People really get caught up on things he said years ago when I’m sure most of these same people are not the same person they were five years ago, even more so for someone in Taehyungs position. If there’s any idol that would not pin themselves down to other people’s expectations on his life it’d be Tae lmao

Didn't he mention his dad in relation to his style hero this time? Which seemed more like him picking an element about him that appealed, rather than wanting to be his dad incarnate, which has come across in the past. So I thought that was really nice.

I'd hope he's his own person by now, after all this. It's always good to see idols exert more of their own character, even if it's not what some fans want to see or hear, because at least it's more truthful.

Spoiler

On a totally different note, does anyone else have a problem with how Bighit still films members waking up, going to bed, and generally sleeping, in 2020? I don't watch those shows on TV, but the screen shots and clips pop up on my Twitter timeline. How long are those cameras rolling for all night, and why do fans need to see members waking up looking like death warmed over?

Many fans would rather fight over who is or isn't LGBT, but seem to think filming people's bedrooms is normal and cute. To me it feels like an invasion of actual, real privacy. The only places BTS are ever safe from their company's lenses are the toilets and bathrooms of the world.

Also, I found this, from the LGBT Idol Tumblr site. Some will know it well but for those that don't, just an interesting snippet.

3. i11evn: Bisexual - He’s a mostly underground rapper that some of you might know as he was supposed to have debuted with BTS at a certain point! In his song Porn Star (폰스타) ft. Suprema he came out as bisexual saying “Man or woman, I’m a bisexual who doesn’t descriminate!” (check at 0:31)

Sounds kinda familiar to me, oi.

He seems to have maintained his profile as a rapper since, but was more recently busted for drug dealing. Cool BH backstory if it checks out though. I always remember a great poster here who claimed to translate gossip from the Japanese fandom. There was some talk way back that Bighit's early BTS was a bit of a beacon for LGBT. I dunno if that's 'solid truthiness,' taken from source (Japanese forum/chatroom) as stated, or just hearsay. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was truth to it. ❤️ Word was, three.

Finally, I think the above website also updated their 'rumoured' page, which is a really good read if you enjoy some meat on the bone of your musings. Kangmin, Zico and several others are on there, inc. a few favs and some ladies with rumours. ❤️ I did not know about S. Coups, so that little tidbit is cool: https://lgbt-kidols.tumblr.com/post/170207389194/rumored-lgbt-k-idols

As with all else, nothing's set in stone and it's only someone's opinion. But I appreciate it when people back their thoughts and views up.

i saw this on twitter.  it seems Jinoo posted this on IG stories. the colours in heart stickers is not the ones of gay and bi flag?! 🤔🤨

Imagem

jinoo is a member of Team One Sound (group of 3 South Korean lyricists, composers, arranger) and he have been the producer of some Super Junior-D&E (Donghae and Eunhyuk) albuns (he also worked with them on D&E's new album, Bad Blood).

He is also donghae's friend

You're not allowed to say that flags, colours or lights are hints at LGBT support on here. Idols are all 'superior kings' who are so innately intelligent they put humanity to shame on every topic.

Except LGBT matters. Then they don't understand the concept, aren't 'western' enough to work out a trans flag, etc, or they're just being cute.

Remember this simple rule and you won't go far wrong. 😂👆

We share the same thoughts! Even I think Chan is the only het member. The rest definitely ping me.

Haven't posted here for ages but keep on following the thread and since Kook and In The Soup appeared on the thread,  the show definitely gives us interesting moments)

I mean, it's pretty known how Kook is obsessed with Hoseok butt and touch and slap it every given moment, but the way he feel it up and down is smth new on cam. Twiiter is going crazy about it currently.

I also sometimes think about the second moment on this video, the way Kook hesitated at first and tried to stop himself but then just fully went for it) When I first saw it I wondered why he hesitated even, considering it's quite common fanservice from his side. Maybe he sees how overboard touchy and clingy he is when it comes to Hoseok or maybe Hoseok isn't really comfortable with such things on interviews or maybe company asked him to tone it down a little bit or maybe it's nothing serious and his mood just swings here lol Idk, just found this moment interesting, cause Kook doesn't hesitate usually when he wants to do smth.

Jungkook and Hobi have always been interesting. They used to go on little dinner dates and now supposedly live near each other.

There's probably nothing going on but they're cute and I think they have some nice chemistry.

Not necessarily gay but definitely LGBT+ related,  I think Jungkook is really into abolishing gender lol. Lately, he buys most of his clothes from gender neutral brands like Massnoun, A nothing or Musinsa. They're not very famous brands so you actually have to look for it on instagram to find them. He's also the the best at doing his own makeup according to the other members, talked about painting his nails and he does love his buns and Victoria Secret/Bath Body Works products.

As an aside, how come some people on this thread think that if an idol has lived abroad especially in America, that they're not homophobic and accepting? Some of the most homophobic people I have met are Korean Americans. This is coming from a Korean.
