and she's just bringing facts, most knctzens believed jaemin's dating rumors, the beginning of ridin' promotions was quite chaotic bc of this... but we're an international based forum,  i don't see how bringing this type of speculation HERE can be harmful for idols.

 

i'm assuming we're all capable to comprehend that, if the idol has not commented on a matter directly, we're still dealing with pure speculation, which is the main purpose of this topic to begin with... if this forum wasn't a safe space we wouldn't be talking about a delicate topic such as sexuality and gender identity.

Someone else mentioned it already, all fans ship regardless of language or cultural background. Personally I'd take all ships and commentaries with a grain of salt, despite they can be fun and enjoyable.

I totally agree with what you said - minorities are much more likely to be cautious on how their actions are being read by others. I'd still think Jeno has/had a crush on Jaemin, and that's irrelevant to the popularity of the nomin ship. Although I'm curious if companies would moderate or stop ships if they find out either or both members actually have something more for the other?

I'm not sure if you are an NCT Stan or even keep up with NCT because that's where you are wrong. Firstly, yes the start of ridin' promotions were chaotic when the rumours first started due to the fact that neither jaemin nor the other partys representative spoke up on this issue and this led to him getting immense hatred sent to him on the lysn bubble platform. After the matter had calmed down, jaemin sent a pic on bubble when he went skiing at a resort where a reflection of a supposed "women" were seen with him and again, people started blowing up rumours that it was that actress. Now this is the part where jaemin had stepped up and clarify that it was the manager. Not only that, if you were to read his message after he sent, he subtly and had an underlying message to say that he and that actress was friends; heck, he couldn't even talk about it directly and had to make connections by using food items.

The problem in K-pop culture is that it has conditioned fans and wider society that modern young men working in a varied industry aren't capable of having female platonic friends. It has to have romantic or sexual inference all the time. Sometimes it's true. But sometimes it isn't. Sometimes women have quite critical management or production roles in K-pop groups. 

And that male friends are strictly platonic, because other possibilities just don't even occur to many fans. Who have been fed a diet of shipping and fanservice but who can't quite get their heads round real-life LGBTs. 

Western fans can be more open-minded (but probably far more annoying with OTT assumption) but there's still huge reluctance to accept gay/bi male idols even exist among most Asian and Arab fandoms. And I've witnessed much more aggression and anger aimed at anyone who suggests someone might be. 

As usual, the world ain't on the same page.

I totally agree! It doesn't help either that NCT members doesn't have much interaction with female idols too. This kind of "privilege" is taken granted for by NCT stans and when an interaction arises from it, chaos ensues. However, I'm glad that SM is starting to make some NCT members take up on drama, MC roles, etc.

A few people spotted that the Dynamite MV explosion colours were very similar to the pan flag colours, just in a different order.

Maybe it's just coincidence (number #324,657) and the graphics team no doubt have their own brief, but it's still super cute.

I want what everyone else want as well but knowing its a cable channel, we all know itll be bromance. 

The rest of the member dont give me any vibe but Jinyoung. He used to have a good time dancing female dances and embracing it but if anyone notice he have been toning it down alot after the rumors, i think more than anything, that reaction is the most telling.
