Which male idols do you think are gay?

I know, I understand that and as I said it's okay to express any view as long as it isn't straying into outright hate or drumming up protest against someone. Some people will notice things about idols that throw up red flags, others don't see it as a cause for pause or even a big deal. Hopefully Haechan can look after himself and make his own decisions.

Oh you don’t have to worry about Haechan this boy definitely knows how to take care of himself lol and it seems Haechan actually got into quite a few squabbles pre debut. He and Jaemin even physically fought before. According to Doyoung, Haechan was very quick witted and assumed authority with the new SM trainees even though he was only like 13-15, I’m sure for a new kid like Mark he was a lot to deal with. From what I’ve seen of Mark and Haechan so far I really don’t think any of their fights was due to any kinds of homophobia. They’ve mentioned a lot that they have very different personalities and get into arguments easily

2AM's Jo Kwon is showing off his ulzzang visuals.

On the 27th, singer Jo Kwon posted three photos on Instagram with the caption, "Oh, practice ᄒᄒ뿌뿌."

In the photos shared, Jo Kwon perfectly pulls off wearing a pink T-shirt and nail art creating a pure atmosphere. He showed off his blemish-free skin and pretty visuals and NU'EST Ren left a comment writing, "L - Lᄅ ᅮ Lᄋ ᄋ ᄋᄋ," showing off their amazing friendship

  2. [+3,214, -445] He's trans not gay...there's a difference. He identifies and lives as a woman.

  4. [+246, -16] It's so obvious. The only reason why he's not coming out to the public is because the other side won't let him. This is his way of indirectly expressing it.
  5. [+236, -17 Just admit it. He looks so much like Kim Kisoo.
  6. [+236, -2] Why does it matter if he looks feminine. I like Jo Kwon because of he's always so playful and active
  7. [+209, -24] Isn't it time to coolly admit it at this point??!
  8. [+140, -20] He's become more feminine since he came out of the army. He probably got a pedicure set too.

almost 2,500 upvotes this is more than most idol or even dating related articles
this right here is the reason celebrities in Korea don't come out

how does it make sense to be slating someone for not coming out in the same breath as saying 'whats wrong with him' ???

Several of those comments show a lack of understanding and education. But one does raise a few interesting angles, despite the crude way it's written.

1. Say, just theoretically, Jo Kwon wanted to transition, might it not give context to his 'You got me wrong' type comment a few weeks ago? Was he referring to people  assuming he's a gay man bcs he wears women's clothing? Maybe he feels he's a straight woman trapped in a guy's body?

2. On the other hand, was he saying 'You got me wrong' to those who assume he wants to transition and be a female? Was he saying it was 'weird' to link him with wanting to change his gender, when he doesn't? So the statement was therefore about gender rather than sexuality?

3. Both issues, and he just wants to be left alone to wear and create what he wants, support who he wants and then tune out and go watch TV shows about messy, cheating hets. (That's still queer culture, lol.) And he's just not comfortable publicly pinning labels on himself atm, or ever?

Because the fact he's still supportive towards LGBT+ does make me wonder if some took it as a gay rebuff, though he probably gets more comments from confused onlookers who can't separate gender and sexuality?

There are several options, and of course, only he knows who he is 100%. Just something that struck me while reading those comments. They're really nice pics of him anyway. He looks great.

Most of these sound so backhanded "supportive". Especially all three with 2000+ likes.

But at least the general public is moving towards somewhat acknowledge lgbt exist (even with so much steoreotype). One step at a time I guess.

Thank you, like I hate the assumptions made on many Christians like I'm literally Catholic but that does not mean I'm homophobic.

I agree that not all Christians are homophobic, but the Christian Church is by large, an intrinsically homophobic institution and has a history of anti-LGBTQIA+ violence and oppression. To this day, many "Christian" radicalist groups still cite the bible to rationalize hate crimes. And that's something that all Christians need to acknowledge and actively denounce if they want to be an ally. And I'm not talking about your local, gay-friendly church but the church as a whole lol. Not trying to hate on religion though, I myself was raised Catholic and I'm gay, but I distanced myself from the church as I got older for my own wellbeing lol.

This. It breaks my heart. People will ship “couples” to their hearts content but will not support them if they ever did come out. I’ve seen multiple comments of fans saying they ship their favorite idols cuz they look good together but wouldn’t support them if they actually were gay. That it’s all just for fun. The hypocrisy is mind blowing.

Very sad and big thanks to Holland for raising this to the public, that is if the general fans even see the video 😔

Unfortunately there are lots of objectification on idols and fetishcism on same sex relationships in kpop fandoms, most commonly among straight female fans on pairing up their favourite male idols. I see it running parallel to straight men's fetish on lesbians.

It's one thing to use ships as an apparatus to express female sexuality (which I fully support), but it's another when the shipping applies directly to real people, not some fictional characters in a novel or webtoon. I really hope fans who google "which idol is gay" out of curiosity can see our concerns and sincere discussions here on this thread.

a little rant: discussing posters that have lgbtq+ elements is really just weird to me. that doesn't say anything about the sexuality of an idol or being a supporter of the community. it's merely just about aesthetics. i will almost compare it to a 15 year old wearing a rolling stone t-shirt that they bought from h&m or urbanoutfitters, most teens are only wearing them for the aesthetic.

I wouldn't say it's weird, but will only take the very subtle references with a grain of salt and not get myself too excited. A few people mentioned this before, it's all about who is the person/group, what is their stances on lgbtq+ plus frequency, and how much they are involved with the artistic direction of the album jacket/set/mv/whatever. In Baekhyun's case, I'm leaning towards merely on aesthetics as you've noted.

To add to your point, the eye catching thing I saw in this recent Dream video was the rainbow wallpaper from 8:16 to 9:59. 100% positive that there's nothing to do with the pride colours or queerness at all. But I'm happy to see Dreamies play and fight in this rainbow space for almost 2 minutes.

back in the day i used to think there was at least one gay member. the ones who pinged me the most were were yichen, mao ruo yi and shu hang but this thread didn't exist at the time lol.

c47fb43bad4cab8435dd58efdf568901c153ab55

yichen is the one wearing black and ruoyi is the one with that ugly ass mustard scarf. the other one wearing a yellow coat is kong shuhang. from your left to your right we see hyungjoo (appeared in ulzzang generation really briefly and speaks fluent mandarin), taku who's is also korean and harry who's chinese.

anyway, it doesn't really matter anymore now that most of them are more like common civilians now, but i wanted to post it here since i've come across mao ruo yi pictures on instagram. he became a model and he follows a lot of interesting people like ricky martin and his husband and exchanges hearts with fellow male instagram models. i thought he had a girlfriend so it is confusing to see that my suspicions from that time might be right. he's now a flight attendant, he sings, models and dances, but support him even though he's not an idol anymore. what do you think? i might be wrong, but his pictures are so loud...

👆 this one made me laugh that's why i put it here

👆 this is not him tho

ruo yi and yichen were superb traditional dancers, it got nothing to do with their sexuality but since you guy might not know them i'll put it under the spoilers. they were really pretty ❤️

omg yes! i actually followed nick/ruoyi on instagram before i found out he was in a group. i only found out because he posted some nostalgia pics in the past where he was singing and dancing, and someone in the comments said something about timez.

im pretty sure nick is gay, he has mutual follows with a lot of other instagram influencers that are gay asian men (edisonfanye, leewoon19, etcetc) and i once found him on a chinese blog post that was listing/discussing influential gay chinese instagrammers.

Is leewoon19 an out gay or just a model cause he replied to question if he was gay and he responded with a no?
