Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

I doubt most of the members understood anything. Except RM and maybe yoongi they look clueless

agreed lol but they might recognize the term lgbt even they don't understand the general speech. although most of them were probably just cheering because everyone else was.

Bless his heart, Jimin does. His English is atrocious and yet he gets some of the most beautiful song lines in the language, lol. Aside from RM I certainly think there's some trigger words a few of them at least understand, like change, suicide, LGBTQ, depression, maybe therapy or legislation.

Judging by their reactions, at least RM, Yoongi and Jungkook understood it to some degree (especially RM of course)

The others seemed to be more focused after he started to say "LGBTQ"

I think this hits the nail on the head. Also Hobi's face is obscured and I'm only teasing with Jimin (who I adore, but he did call his own English 'embarrassing', lol) because he is, as ever, so gorgeous and attentive. And who knows, they could all be multilingual experts behind the scenes because we see only what we're allowed to (as with any artist).

I feel like Yoongi's English understanding is generally good. The rapline seem to be the ones most vocal in political and social matters so I wouldn't be surprised if he was tooled up with some outside knowledge from TV, music or general reading. Also, as he had/has depression and anxiety it's not impossible that he's come into contact with non-Korean sources and words on his own journey.

I was drawn to Taehyung's reaction because he sits forward at one point and stares at someone or something to the right but maybe he's trying to listen above the audience, even if he doesn't understand? He surely knows 'LGBT' because he picked the word out in English when it was written on a sign on the last tour.

I really doubt anyone but RM understood what they were talking about. Yoongi maybe got the general gist, if that. Their English skills are very beginners level. Unless they had a translator talking to them with in-ears.

the couple clothes thing is something they joke about pretty often, seems pretty normal in Korea. They also talked about Yoongi and JK and their matching all black emo outfits in Malta like that.

You're understimating them, tbh

Yeah, that may be true about Jin, Hobi, Jimin and Tae, but Jungkook has been studying english a lot and it shows (in the vlive after the BBMAs and in the recent interviews he was able to speak pretty well long sentences and say words that weren't in his vocabulary before) and Yoongi has said back in 2013 that he does understand english

Plus, LGBTQ is an universal word

sorry but doyoung? king of the lgbt community dont try to change my mind.

wish you were gay (original version) is a crusty song but like... doyoung uploaded this right after sm removed the "lesbians love doyoung" sign in one of their videos. The Revolution Is Near. sm felt threatened by the word lesbian on a piece of paper and doyoung just decides to snap!

Boy sung Wish you were gay with his whole chest

I LOVE HIM! The gays won. Anyways does doyoung ping for you people too?

To the poster above ^ yeah I agree I’ve never heard the song before I thought billie wasn’t straight. It’s a song about a guy and wishing he was gay so it’s easier to face rejection...yikes. Anyways I still love doyoung he said gay with his whole chest when kpop stars sweat at the word.

Another edit but why tf did sm edit that sign out I’M GONNA RIOT

Again an edit but I love doyoung he’s one member I know for a fact is accepting and open minded.

I don't think calling their English "very beginners level" is underestimating them at all. Other than Namjoon, none of them can respond to a question in English with more than a couple of words (unless they have an answer prepared), and they need almost every question translated. Yoongi appears to understand more than the rest, though.

That being said, they can definitely recognise a lot of words so I expect they all picked up on "LGTBQ".

K-pop star Holland answers your fan questions

DAZED (May, 2019)

source: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw9boo_nuHt/

"People all over the world know that I am gay, so there could always be danger around me." - Holland.

What was the scariest thing about coming out?

What's frightening is that as a gay (celebrity) I have a lot of responsibilities. I'm scared if I make any mistakes, there might be a chance that people would blame other gay people and hurt them.

Do you think your work has changed the Korean industry's views about LGBT people?

No. Although, in the world of k-pop there is often a very positive atmosphere for LGBT people, and some parts of the LGBT are used for commercial purposes we still need to be careful. If we are not forbidden - discussing things like gay people, coming out. or talking about things related to homosexuality.

Continuation:

What's one thing you would say to your younger self?

All my mistakes and experiences from the past made my first album so successful. So, I would like to tell my younger self: "enjoy your life more, even if you are having a very hard time."

When did you start singing?

When I was 19 years old; Karaoke culture was trendy in Korea then, so I started singing. It was from that time I started singing, I think.

How do you get inspirations for your songs?

My life, my fans, LGBT movies. "Call Me By Your Name", "Carol", "Blue is the Warmest Colour" ... everything!

How do you feel about the response you received when you released "Neverland"?

Responses from other countries and Korea were both good. Although obviously some people with strong religious beliefs opposed to it, as if something really bad was about to happen. I was relieved that there was a much better response than when Hong Seok-Cheon, a celebrity that I respect so much, came out in South Korea.

What's an ideal way to spend your day if you're not working?

I love travelling so much, but as I can't travel all the time, I play video games or watch movies.

Top five places you want to perform in?

I just arrived in London today but I'm already loving London so much! So number one is London. And then... Italy. The reason? Handsome guys! Number three is Japan. Korea and Japan are close to each other so I always think I can go there anytime, but because of that I haven't even been there once. And Paris and Bali.

Do you have a message for your Harlings?

I hope that once day, my relationship with my fans could be more like a fan-to-fan relationship rather than celebrity-to-fan. I always wanted to live my entire life with my fans, sincerely.

For me, it's hollow, because it was some months ago where iKon pulled that fake coming out garbage. Anytime I see or hear about iKon, it's always the first thing I think of.

Yeah :( I understand that, it really offended me too. They've done and said some accepting things too, but it's hard to get past stuff like that, even if they didnt mean it to be offensive.

I might be in the minority here but I actually think Jimin is straight (maybe bi but leaning more towards straight). I could be wrong but I'm not sure if I ever really saw him being attracted to a guy (in a way that couldn't be perceived purely as admiration).

Meanwhile I'm leaving this here

In case anyone is interested in BTS's full reaction to Halsey's very gay performance:

Tae's reaction at the end was interesting.

Edit: If anyone can tell me what I need to do to embed a youtube video these days, I'll give you my firstborn.

Tae is a very sensitive soul so no wonder he was about to cry lmao. I do think V isn't straight so that probably even made him more emotional/shocked. I'm extremely happy that such a big group like BTS is open about supporting queer artists: Halsey, Troye Sivan, Sam Smith, etc.

On Topic: Taehyung looked like he was trying hard to hold tears or something in the end of the performance...
