sane 16,342
the gay couple is not really a gay couple. the husband of the family is only dating the guy because he killed his family in a hit and run accident when he was a child and he feels guilty (of course nobody knows about the hit-and-run being caused by the husband). every character (including the husband) is really annoying... except for maybe the ACTUALLY gay character (the orphan boy), but the gay character gets killed by the maid because she's angry that he doesn't want revenge for the hit-and-run accident that killed his parents and her husband. i spoiled it so you can't waste your time by watching it^^^^ on a side note, it is the weirdest feeling to intentionally write out spoilers with the intent of telling them to somebody who hasn't seen something. it feels like i'm doing something awful but is at the same time extremely liberating. That sounds crappy
sane 16,342
God, Life is Beautiful was... well, beautiful. Even if they never kissed. Parts of their storyline can be found here, if anyone's interested. Life is Beautiful gets all of my feels tbh I just feel bad that it was a G rated romance even though some of the other romances were... not @_@ I like that they at last had a happy ending though sehun ain't even hiding it anymore Who's the lucky recipient? sane 16,342
I keep seeing various people here and there saying that GD is kinda flamboyant off camera. It wouldn't surprise me tbh XD Really though, even if GD was straight (which I doubt) I bet he'd probably hit up gay clubs and stuff with his gay friends anyway. Idk, he just strikes me as that type In my book he could be bi, but he's definitely not straight XD I can only speak for myself and what I can personally attest to is that I find nothing wrong with having this mindset. The point is that that kind of mindset basically means that you think that "straight" is the default human setting, which is incorrect and damaging. If you're going to assume anything, assume "unknown". Look what I found. One the gayest performances in K-pop God, I miss them.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lzJTh-AFK4 Omg I never noticed the other members being background singers in the back that's adorable Edited August 27, 2013 by HanryuFan
sane 16,342
It's even better when you watch it with the lyrics.... Starts @ 5:00 Jae's having too much fun performing that song. And he sings all the gayest parts too.. JJ: Even if it's in my dreams, even if it's just for one day; I want to meet the man of my destiny JJ: Out of the few men I see out through the window; There's gotta be one for me (it looked like he turned to look at Yunho after he sang this part @ 6:00) JJ: I'll search for the man of my destiny I bet it was Jaejoong's song choice...I wonder how he convinced Changmin, lol. I think the most amazing thing about this performance is that they didn't cross dress These kind of lyrics really suit Jaejoong Notice how Changmin didn't sing any lines about wanting a man, though? I think that was on purpose. They divided up the lines so that only Jaejoong would sing those ones lol
sane 16,342
Oh my yunjae feels!!! But lol seeing changmin singing a song like this is seriously hilarious and yeah I agree about jaejoong deciding the song I mean jaejoong was like a mother in dbsk but like a really controlling and bossy mother lol I'm pretty sure no one would've dared to oppose him when he says something not even yunho On a side note I think this also shows us how much Korea is still not so much considerate or aware i should say of homosexuality I mean if any boyband in us or uk like one direction sang a song like this they would've definitely been considered gay and it would've created a lot of controversy and this is not the first time I see this I've seen other male bands and other male artists singing songs with lyrics obviously directed to men idk if koreans are oblivious or act oblivious or just don't care The audience was laughing, I'm assuming they thought it was supposed to be funny. Homosexuality in Korea is usually a joke, a disease, or it doesn't exist. sane 16,342
I don't really see how it could be damaging especially if you're not ignorant or homophobic. Some people get surprised if they happen to find out someone is gay and that's about it. Nothing damaging there. The point is that "straight" is not the default human setting, and if you think that it is then the next logical step is to think that anything other than straight is abnormal, which is in fact incredibly damaging. And even if you yourself by some twisted bastardization of logic don't think that not being straight is abnormal even though you think straight is the default, if you behave like it is then others will get the impression that it is too, which is also damaging. Being surprised at finding out that somebody who you thought was straight is actually gay is light years away from assuming everybody is straight until proven otherwise. They're barely even in the same fucking ballpark.
sane 16,342
He said he assumes them being straight, not considers them being the default. I'd say there is a difference. He casts a prediction, that's all. Though I disagree with Ken as well, if only because the assumption will lead to faulty conclusions. Straight until proven otherwise = straight is the default
sane 16,342
Default assumption, not assumption of the default. As I understood it, there is a sack. Most beads are white, a few black. He reaches in. What he means is "I will pull out a white one," not "there are only white ones inside" or "white is the proper color". Offering a different reading. It's still an erroneous assumption. One could say "I will probably pull out a white one" and be correct, but "I will pull out a white one" is still incorrect. And when it comes to real life human beings, it can be hurtful to say the least.
sane 16,342
(btw, Jae has the same expression in both these gifs after hearing those words from Changmin. I wonder what he's thinking) He looks kinda disheartened. Idk wtf happened between them, but Changmin got super wary of skinship with Jaejoong around that time, like he was disgusted with him but trying not to look like he was @_@ I used to think he was a really homophobic asshole too, but then he does skinship with other guys... and I'm like 100% certain that he knew Jaejoong was gay wayyyy before this, so I really have no idea what could've caused this sudden rejection of him. He really seemed like he was subtly threatening to out Jaejoong if he didn't lay off, so something really big must've happened, 'cause outing somebody is a massive taboo. sane 16,342
I just think jaejoong went too much with it and changmin started to feel uncomfortable around him I mean you do know that jaejoong stole his first kiss right lol I mean of course I would love to have my first kiss with jaejoong but that's different cuz I'm a straight girl who loves him but if I was changmin at that time it probably would've been a bit awkward and uncomfortable to have your kiss stolen by someone whom I consider a big brother And as I said about changmin I think he is very gay friendly but he doesn't like to do skinship with his members cuz he considered them like his own brothers , he didn't have problems with the others but he had them with jaejoong cuz jaejoong didn't have limits lol but despite that he was never going to out him he was just teasing him cuz he knew he was gay that was it I'm pretty sure they admitted later that they made that kiss story up... Either way, what he did went beyond simple teasing. As I said, outing somebody is a massive taboo since it basically sabotages every aspect of their life and career, and he seriously looked like he was thinking about doing it... It is not me who is claiming that if someone isn't straight by default, then they are abnormal. It is you. It is you who is using that word, it is you who's coming up with your own interpretation. It is you coming who is claiming that the next step is automatically being abnormal if you're anything else but the default. I actually do think being straight is the default human setting given the ratio of a straight person to someone who is LGBT and the ability to reproduce but I also believe that being LGBT is a natural occurence. I plainly differentiate the 2 based on their attractions not as "one is normal and the other weird/abnormal. I view them as colors not something like birth defects which I believe is how a lot of other people see it. The idea about it being abnormal is all just you Hanryu. We are obviously a minority by a large margin compared to straight people and many people, if not, everyone has been raised in a heteronormative society so there's hardly a possibility that people are going to assume a guy is gay if he's not effeminate. Your colleagues are most likely to tease you in a joking manner if you're getting a little close to someone of the opposite sex. People aren't going to bother thinking up anything "suspicious" between 2 male friends or 2 female friends unless they notice anything "convincing enough". I don't see how it's damaging in this situation. I can't even........... Never go full retard, people. 1
sane 16,342
"Looked like he was thinking about doing it" is kinda flimsy, can't front. I originally wrote "looked like he was ready to do it", but it seemed a little strong Truth be told, I don't think Changmin is evil or anything. Even if he entertained the idea, I can't help but feel (or maybe hope?) that his threats would be ultimately empty. Ok, people, a little offtopic. I need your brain I am very often getting engaged in the debates where someone is always trying to convince me that being gay is an abnormality and an error caused by social environment and individual's mental development. It's like almost all people around me believe that heterosexuality is a standard. And also they really believe that if we talk about homosexuality in public, there would be decline in the birth-rate. Of course, I undestand that this is complete bullshit, and there's no such thing as homosexual propaganda. And then... all their arguments about socium and all - this is also bullshit. I mean, how then there are homosexual animals, almost in all kinds of them? How do we explain it unless we were born that way? I really believe that homosexuality is NOT a deviation. I think it keeps the world in balance. It's nature. How do I explain that to people? How to educate them? Could you maybe share your opinion with me? I would be really grateful. I ran out of arguments, and I need that to convince some people. If this is not the place to talk about it, then could you please PM me? This may not be the place entirely, but I'mma do it here anyway 'cause I think it'd interest some people here and also I'm too lazy to start a PM lol... To start, considering how overpopulated the earth is, we need a massive decline in birth rate. Particularly in countries with poverty issues. Having more people be open about their homosexuality and adopting children instead of pretending to be straight and getting into opposite sex marriages and making children of their own, etc, would be a small blessing to the human race. We need to at least halve the world population if every human is to live well without worrying about destroying the earth or taking something from somebody else who might also need it @_@ Anyway, I came across this rather interesting article that goes over most of the basic theories. It's a pretty interesting read~ If you can't understand anything it's saying, feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll explain it in layman's terms Oh lawd and I ran into this while looking stuff up on google, how interesting as well Error refers to something being a mistake. That doesn't make sense in the context of nature, where there is no obvious intent. Of course, statistically, there will be an average (which people may refer to as the norm). And from this average, there's always deviations...just like in every other population measurements (such as height, weight, etc). The problem comes when people claim this deviation is undesirable, which is more of a moral/social construct (resulting in various subjective interpretations) not ingrained in nature. In nature, there isn't such an idea that things are meant to be a certain way. So to say that homosexuality is an error of nature, or that it doesn't belong in nature is absurd. If it was such an undesirable evolutionary trait, it wouldn't exist. It's either beneficial, or at worst incidental. Nature doesn't make errors. There may be blips here and there, but as you said errors imply intent. The only "intent" of evolution is to pass on genes, and the most beneficial genes get passed on the most, while incidental ones get taken along for the ride. This is true of all living organisms. "Error" also implies that it can be "corrected", which we know through generations of trying simply can't be done. It also doesn't account for why homosexuality occurs at similar rates in all societies, even the extremely homophobic ones. Hello Everyone! My name is Indra and i'm seventeen ! Since a longtime i follow this topic. I never dare to post in it. Maybe because my English is not very very much , i'm french. sane 16,342
Oh, thank you so much for the articles! Just what I needed. Btw, about genetics. They say that the main goal of a human is to procreate, and there's natural selection going on. And that the ones with "errors" are outcasted. Then how do we explain that gay people don't cease to exist? Is it some gay-genes in DNA? There was an article about women carrying the gay-gene. And the others believe in Freud: all people are bisexual. Others believe in Kinsey scale... There's no certain answer, god, it pisses me off. I will definitely read the articles, and PM you if something comes up. I need answers dammit If the genes were harmful to the continuation of the species, they would've been weeded out long before now through natural selection. As it is, it's obvious that homosexuality is either beneficial or at least harmless to existence~ The Kinsey scale does have some truth to it, in that most people aren't 100% straight or 100% gay... but that doesn't mean everybody is bisexual. It's like how most people aren't 100% masculine or 100% feminine, but that doesn't make everybody androgynous XD Humans are complex beings New here, I guess, you can call me conchobar or Conner. It's a pleasure to meet everyone though. --- I think Chen may be bisexual. I know that he's attracted to girls, but a lot of times, he pings me as bisexual as well. I know he has a good relationship with all the EXO boys, but I do feel that he may have crushes or may be possibly attracted to guys as well, especially Suho (he's spoken about Suho since MAMA era and now that they're back with OT12, there have been quite a bit of moments between the two and some of their moments seem to be very real, especially coming from Chen's side. He just seems really happy and playful whenever he's with Suho and he literally lights up around him a lot of times.). He also seems to be very comfortable with skinship and doesn't mind giving it and has no problems with any of the guys (so even if he's not gay or bisexual), he's probably one of the most accepting members of the group. What do you all think? It seems many seem to think he's straight, but every time I see him, he always pings me of being bi or at least someone that could possibly be open to having a relationship with a man if something like that was readily acceptable in Korea. Welcome~~~ I don't know much about Chen, but he does have that look about him That pic where he was touching (google tells me it's Suho?) on his lower back... I think he was doing that on purpose, since usually only lovers do that otherwise. He also held hands with him on that trip. I think everybody was just acting really gay on purpose that day XD

sane 16,342
i'm starting to get the feeling you do this on purpose, hanryu. like... i get your points and you can think whatever you want in general. but the way you state your opinions is always in just the right way to get people upset. again, you can say things how you want, but i remember you once left this thread because people were constantly upset at you... just don't be surprised if people continue not being able to digest your way of expressing your opinions. I don't say shit to piss people off, people get pissed off of their own accord. Although admittedly I was pretty pissed off by Pike King Ken's mindfuckery... but I make no apologies, I did nothing wrong tbh. They went full retard, I simply pointed it out. The way I say things is not really gonna change. I'm autistic, remember? That shit doesn't just go away, regardless of one's awareness of it. I used to go over posts like 20 (not even exaggerating, I've gone over this particular post almostt a dozen times now) times trying to make them as non-confrontational and easily undersood as possible, and people still found reasons to take things out of context and misunderstand things and shit all over me for it. It seems like the harder I try not to piss people off, the more pissed off they get, so I've stopped giving a fuck. I'm not gonna bend over backwards to please people who think I'm fucking stupid just because they can't understand what I'm saying and are unwilling to even try. Their projection is not my problem. I've got more important shit to worry about. And FYI, I left the thread before because of fuckJohnny's incessant harassment, and because other people were starting to bandwagon, and because the mods literally did not even give a single fuck even when they were presented multiple times with concrete evidence (and even an admission straight from the horse's goddamn mouth). I damn near left the entire forum, too. I can handle a bitchy comment here or there, but full out bullying is not even something I'm gonna put up with. I'm not a child anymore, I'm not gonna lay down and get spat on. But whatever, y'all can think what you want. You're going to anyway, so I'm not even gonna try to dissuade you henceforth. So are we done with the drama, or is this going to be a recurring thing again? 'Cause this thread is nice and all, but it ain't worth ending up in the hospital over. You didn't have to use the word retard towards someone dude It's a meme... besides, I'm allowed to say it by society's standards 1

sane 16,342
Exactamundo. I mean, do you people remember foxreal? She said it's like the most obvious thing ever, even in Korea. Pshhhh, this is clearly the face of contentment. if you do something physically stimulating after sitting down/lounging about for a while --> hardon also emotionally stimulating things. basically erections are directly related with blood flow, so suddenly getting your blood pumping when it hasn't been, or getting really emotionally stimulated (to the point where your heart beats faster, either out of rage, competition, annoyance/frustration, lust, whatever), you could get an erection. even if it's not sexual in the least way, erections sometimes just happen. one annoying thing is when you start to fall asleep in class or are otherwise completely bored, then as the end approaches and you get ready to go home/go to your next class, sometimes you get an erection from that movement. that's why hardons are not necessarily proof of anything even if it may seem pretty scandalous. Any kind of arousal can result in wood, really. Scared? Boing. Angry? Sproing. So it's possible he could've just been really excited and his body got confused... 2
