I have omg, it was so amazing. First of all, I approve so hard of them dancing with chairs. In fact, they should totally take a leaf from After School's book and start dancing with poles. You guys should definitely watch Reply 1997~ Hoya's character is so gvehbrvfgre. It's one of the only dramas that made me cry a lot and it was mainly cause of Hoya

Oh yeah, me too ^^ I also think Myungsoo is being as open as he can in the environment that he's in. Like, he doesn't exactly make a huge effort to hide the fact that he likes guys? I mean, he obviously doesn't shout from the rooftops that he's gay, but he doesn't run away from it with his tail between his legs either. I use this as an example a lot, but when Shindong was basically trying to out him he didn't say anything overtly offensive to protect himself. He didn't say anything like "I'm a normal guy, I like girls" he just edged around the subject as well as he possibly could without punching Shindong in the face.

Not only do I already have homework, but I also have all these new teachers and classes to get used to. I'm reluctant to commit to something addictive like Reply 1995 when I have all this school work to do ㅜㅜ I really want to watch it, but for now I think I'll have to put it off. I might watch it when I'm more settled into school, but until then I'll just have to wait ã…¡ã…¡ I think that's a really good attitude to have tbh! I spent way too much time worrying about my sexuality, instead of just living and figuring it out that way. But I don't understand why so many people think Myungsoo is gay. Not saying he isn't, he could be. But I'm not realy getting a vibe. Would somebody care to expain? Is it because of MyungJong? I actualy ship MyungJong but I'm not convinced it's real. It's no secret that companies encaurage idols to do skinship. And there's been at least a few occasions when he tried to/pretended to try to kiss Dongwoo, but i doubt there are many people who believe DongSoo is real.

On the other hand, i've gotten the impression that Sungyeol was/is at least somewhat attrected to Sungjong. I can't give any evidence (other than "if we don't kiss then i quit"), just my impression from watching them. I don't actualy think Sungyeol is gay but i believe he could be attracted to an acasional guy.

 

I personally don't think Myungsoo is gay because of Myungjong. I mean yeah, I think they're in love/fucking/dating/something, but I generally choose not to make judgments about an idol's sexual orientation based on any pairings that they're involved in. In saying that I really can't see Woollim telling Myungsoo to do that much skinship with Sungjong? I think if they were going to promote a pairing it'd be one of the three popular ones - Woogyu, Yadong or Myungyeol. Otherwise the motivation behind it doesn't really make sense, since Myungjong isn't a hugely popular pairing in Korea and Sungjong isn't one of the most popular members either. 

 

That being said, I basically agree with all the points that Cotton made. It's really the contrast for me when it comes to Myungsoo. He seems generally disinterested in the opposite sex and very interested in the same sex. On one hand, when he's around girls he's just really... awkward. Not even in the sense that he likes them and doesn't know what to do, but in the sense that he's just really not interested. Most of the time he just looks bored actually. Then when you get him around attractive boys it's like the polar opposite of that. He looks engaged and his actions/looks towards them seem very sexually charged. 

 

As Cotton said, it's not like he isn't a sexual person, so there isn't really a reason for him to seem so uninterested and inexperienced when it comes to the opposite sex. If it was that on it's own, I might let it slide, because it is possible that he just hasn't met the right girl yet. But when you compare it to how he is with the same sex it all kind of clicks. He prefers skinship with guys, being flirty with guys... and probably sleeping with them too.

So, Double A finally released their After Midnight Booty Call song (yes, I know that is not the actual name of it. I just refuse to call it anything else). Maybe I'm reading too much into it because it is a Double A song, but the lyrics really do strike me as kind of interesting. They basically talk about Woosang and Aoora two people sneaking around at night and meeting up for sex. The bit that's particularly jarring, is that they talk about how risky it is and how they can only be together before the sun rises. I know it mentions a female not knowing that this ~relationship~ is going on, but it could just be that one of them is in a relationship with a woman to cover up his gay after midnight booty calls. Or it could just be about plain old hetero cheating. It just seems like in Korea, a lot of gay couples would be sneaking around like that? Which is pretty unnecessary for -most- hetero couples. Idk, as I said, I could be reading too much into it.

I can see your point. But then again, kpop idols seem to get more popularity if they are in pairing. Also, Infinite is a 7 member band, so someone has to be a "twotimer", in this case Myungsoo. Myungyeol just happens to be a more popular pairing. Not saying Woolim is realy orchesthating all this, just a theory.

Yeah, I think your theory is perfectly understandable. In fact there are some popular pairings that I think are obviously calculative products of their companies. I'm not going to mention the pairings in question because it's really not important, but the point is it's highly likely that it does happen.

It's because of those obviously fake pairings that i question every relationship in kpop. I just don't know if it's a real thing or just good acting. But I do HOPE Myungjong is real, they are just so cute together!

 

That video was awkward... He was clearly not enjoying it. It could have been that he just didn't like that particular girl. But if you say acts like that often then... I just don't know. I think I'll remain undecided for now.

 

It's for that very reason that I don't pay much attention to any really new pairings. I think companies are really starting to cash in on shipping and fanservice. Not that they didn't before, but the business for it is really thriving now. I don't get those vibes from Myungjong at all though. In fact I think they're one of the most authentic pairings out there atm 

 

He's not always that overtly put off, but when he isn't, he usually just looks disinterested as I mentioned before. 

 

All i see is Myungsoo being mildly surprised and then trying to act casual. He's aware of fans watching him and I think he doesn't want any scandal.

The lyrics are just as gross tbh. The song basically talks about a guy telling his girlfriend that she shouldn't wear 'skimpy' revealing clothing, because some men are gross pigs. So rather than telling men that women's bodies are not theirs to ogle, the song tells girls that they have to cover up instead. It's just blatant misogyny. I don't blame Infinite, but I do side-eye the fuck out of whoever wrote it...

 

I suppose the video has Infinite portrayed as the "pervs" mentioned in the song. In a way, the video is even worse though, because it's literally just glamorizing the sexual objectification of women. IT'S OKAY IF OPPAR DOES IT!!!11!!

Sexual objectification is something that every human does, and it's not a bad thing. It's necessary for the human race to continue. Men and women sexualize and are sexualized. It's how humans work. It's the job of the individual to desexualize themself if they don't want to be viewed as a sexual being, not the job of every other human being to suddenly change how they're hardwired. This goes for both men and women. Everybody looks, whether they want to admit it or not. This video is just exaggerating the fact that straight men do look quite a bit at women who put themselves on display. (Note for those who might take this the wrong way: I am NOT condoning sexual harassment or assault. Looking and being interested, or even hitting on somebody, are not the same as laying hands on them or saying excessive, inappropriate things to them, or refusing to take "no" for an answer).

 

Of course sexual objectification is a bad thing jfc. Feeling sexual desire for another person is fine and having consensual sexual relations with them is also fine, but the moment that you dehumanize that person things are not fine. When you sexually objectify someone, you are literally disregarding them as a person and just looking at them as a way to get off. I’m pretty sure people aren't sex toys; we don’t live to bring other people sexual pleasure.  I have to ask though, did you even watch the video? Because at one point, Myungsoo clearly covers up the girl with his jacket and another member rips it off her so they can continue to stare up/down her dress. That to me is considerably past the point of “just lookingâ€.

Another thing about the video.

I felt the sexual vibe towards the girl from pratically everyone, except (!) Woohyun. Well, Sungjong looked like a lesbian lol, but there was no hetero-vibe from Woohyun. Is it my wishful thinking or..?

 

I really can't say for sure tbh. I only watched it twice and I seriously couldn't concentrate on anything other than how uncomfortable it was making me...
