i'm following them closely and the main suspects for me are inho, inpyo, hocheol, hongin, hyunuk, haejoon (very sure). also i personally question minhwan and jinsub a bit, the latter even more than minhwan.

i'd suggest jackson but he's a perpetual flirt so trying to figure out who he'd date is kind of a challenge, although we know his apparent type so *shrug*

 

cross group relationships would definitely make more sense (either actual relationships or casual hookups, and i can think of quite a few people who probably do the latter), as there are very very few people that i think would want to long-term have the stress of carrying on something with your co-worker that you also have to live with.

It was a while back, and I'm not sure if he answered the question exclusively towards women, but he said he ideal type is someone who is very physically fit/athletic- which is generic enough that it could just be a random answer, but. take jooheon and namjoon. they have a somewhat similar appearance, although i don't really think there's anything going on there beyond friendship.

 

But honestly I've never seen him NOT flirt with another man, in varying degrees (and i don't know anyone who would ever call heechul or sunggyu athletic ) so

This is a very small thing but I'd personally view it as even more interesting than the perf. At about 51 seconds, notice the way Jung Jung hugs Eunki vs. The way he hugs his fellow label mate, whom he's presumably been training with for some time immediately after. The hug itself isn't something I'd notice at all if it weren't for that difference. Obviously it's nothing even close concrete but it did give me flashbacks to how I was when an old crush came to see my performance vs how I was with my friends at the same perf lol.

Yes that was so cute...THEY are so cute and I love how skilled they are to be able to do something like that spontaneously is pretty impressive to an average person like me lol. I really do think there might be something of a mutual crush between them.

Seriously. Been following them since "pledis boys" days and I really can't see that being the case. I know people see him as manly/masculine and not only do I personally see that as something of different point but I believe there's video of him calling himself something akin to feminine anyway.

One thing I'll say about Mingyu is that from what I personally saw he actually seemed to have more..."charged" moments predebut and these happened less often after he debuted (but obviously he still pings some of us even now without those). What people may not know is that those who followed Seventeen predebut were actually able to watch them regularly for hours on end in their practice area with cameras that the company mounted on the walls/ceilings (and yes I realize how creepy that sounds now but we were all younger then lol). Their practice space is where they spent their days when they weren't sleeping or at school. Essentially it was home. All of that is to say that while I would agree that it's possible -- certain, really -- that a good percentage of what we saw was indeed fanservice, I think it's incredibly unlikely that a group of teenagers who were still training were able to stay completely "in character" for that long, that often. I think it's inevitable that they'd have slip ups as even actual reality tv stars do at times. I personally think these slip ups occurred much more often than one might think so I do think that certain things are valid when discussing what pings.

 

If you look up Mingyu and Wonwoo you'll find an inappropriate moment or two with some wrestling and the like *1, you'll find a metric shit ton of skinship, some flirting and jealous moments, etc etc. But really that's only a small part of the picture. Mingyu is questioned because of all that and his body language around males, his seeming disinterest in females (can anyone really think of an example of him showing interest in a female?), his views on himself as being somewhat...atypical/feminine *2 and then finally yes, certain mannerisms and interests (as I said before, I try to only look at this after other things ping me). I think most of us accepted the reality that the vast majority of kpop ships have absolutely no basis in reality long ago. For instance, while I stan Wonwoo, I don't give a !@$% who he's shipped with. Some of Mingyu's behavior towards Wonwoo pings people specifically because it seems to be consistent with someone who has a crush and I think it would be if Wonwoo was a girl, a hobbit, whatever.

 

I get that people will assume that he's straight because they view him as manly but as I said during the Vernon discussion, I don't think we should focus solely on that especially if it means ignoring specific actions that are questionable. Additionally, I think that if someone's going to do that, it'd be best if it were consistent with how the person views themselves, how the members view them and how others around them see them and that isn't the case here so I see it as illogical to use that as any sort of basis for assuming that he's straight.

Sanggyun who visibly cringed at Justin's aegyo and said it was too much? I actually think it was the other way around and Justin seemed a bit fond of Sanggyun instead, while Sanggyun was "playing hard to get" or trying to be chill. the fans were actually thinking that mnet was trying to create a rivalry edit between them in the episode they both did Replay, showing Sanggyun making a sour face every time Justin appeared and saying he overdid the aegyo and fanservice, but it didn't work since in the next episode, Justin went all out when they were armwrestling

idk why Sanggyun, a grown adult, would be giving puppy eyes to a 15 year old if that's what you were insinuating, that doesn't really seem like him to me and I've been a stan of his for years

 

but Sanggyun had other, actual suspicious moments in his past, he was always the one I suspected next (after Hansol who I am 100% sure is gay) in Topp Dogg

I feel like this is a pretty strong response to what they actually said (the phrasing is mellow but there are some...buzzwords there). I can completely understand wanting to defend the honor of a celeb you like but all they said was that he was making puppy eyes or whatever which could mean anything, really. I don't see a reason to assume that it means anything sexually inappropriate and we don't know what's going on in his head either way, we can only judge his actions and outward reactions which is why I want to know the specific scene being referenced.
