i'm curious about that too. generally the only idols in BLs are the ones that either no longer have the popularity they used to or are just not that well known. i wonder for lgbt idols if it could be a sort of escape for them or would they just be terrified of acting in one in case they get exposed. a queer idol would have to be incredibly secure in their sexuality to want to do BLs cuz their definitely would be alot of scrutiny that comes with it.

I think they actually did kiss based on everyone's reactions, it's hard to see because the camera pans away from them. But it's clear jaemin did it not because he has feelings but because he wanted to annoy haechan.

it's hard for me to understand what korean masculinity really is because I don't live in korea, but I try to observe how the average korean male idols behave and start from there. So nct dream are supposed to be the example of the whole flower boys. Which a lot of people mistake as male idols breaking gender norms when really it's still maintaining gender expectations/norms. Flower boys still performing korean masculinity, just a different brand of it lol. 

Even on this thread, people would use flower boy behaviour and say it's queer coded. The difficult part as intl fans is telling the difference between male idols who genuinely (somewhat or lightly, you know they can't stray too far) are stepping out the gender norms and flower boys. 

 

Jaemin for example is the ideal flower boy, he's soft but still very masculine in every other facet. 

 

 

 

 

 

Actually I think Jaemin has shown who he is quite a bit before his dating scandal which caused him to shut down a lot. Before that the members used to talk about how he’d go around asking for kisses, he’s one of the few neos to have said he watched Call Me By Your Name. He used to be very open with his thoughts and feelings but I think the scandal scared him and made him stop caring about the whole idol life as much. 
 

it’s interesting how you said you don’t know what Korean masculinity is and then said the members don’t exhibit it? imo all the dreamies are very much within how society expects them to act so it’s actually really hard to figure wherein the spectrum they lie. Ironically I would say Jeno exhibits the aspects of masculinity the most but he’s also the dreamie most suspected to be lgbt.

I agree with your other thoughts about nct except these 2. When did Taeil say he was interested in both genders? That would be amazing if he did say that. 
 

also Haechan is one of the members that’s made it pretty obvious he’s into girls. So i would says he either straight or maybe bi .. but tbh I haven’t seen anything outside of fanservice with his members to suggest it so And ahh this shirt is what tipped you off? I think the shirts talking about himself. But he was also 12 there and couldn’t read english at the time

Rather than a big idol coming out I feel like it’s mostly going to be idols that never really “made it” they have less to lose and can gain notice from being one of the first to come out. And I feel like it’s mostly going to be ppl that identify as bi since it’s a bit less polarizing then identifying themselves as gay. Perhaps more females than males since being seen as a lesbian is more “accepting” than their male equivalent

I agree with Haechan most likely being straight. He’s just very affectionate and has a lot of ships but Taeyong?

I see where you’re coming from but also from all predebut accounts he wasn’t aloof at all. He was actually considered to be the funniest in class & the most popular. Some girl on YouTube said they used to have breakfast together before class. He also bragged about getting so many white day presents he needed a car. None of this could mean anything but from his small scandal when he debuted to current events it feels pretty obvious he likes girls.
 

He is also the NCT member with the most ships. He is constantly trying to hug or kiss one member or another. But idk if that really means anything so I can see why he’s so hard to fully place. He has so few interactions with people outside his group it’s hard to see how he’d react to any gender.

this is the best explanation so far. there has been articles written about them for 6 months now and neither jyp or sm are denying anything which does seem pretty sus. I did a little digging of my own and i kind of believe it? But man knets are really on their ass. Even the dispatch official article with hyomin the top comment was about them. If it’s true there are a lot of ryujin stans that truly think she’s lesbian and they’re really not gonna be happy but hey maybe she’s bi?

I agree a lot of proofs can easily be debunked and I didn’t believe it either but the egg one is actually odd as a Korean speaker because literally nobody calls the curdled egg on top of ramen ‘egg flower’ other than these 2 and that’s why knets just won’t let this couple go.  They also have some bubble messages that connect with each other’s. They don’t just have similar shows but the exact same shows they recommend and Haechan just following only 1 NCT unit and Itzy on vlive is kinda sus. Ryujin also only covered Haechan part in Kick It. idk one of the biggest red flag to me is SM and JYP not denying these rumors even after 6 months of actual articles that have come out. But obviously all this could just be coincidence and no one will really know without actual solid evidence

Lmao but Haechan really was sick here which really explains nothing though lol  but honestly he just be doing shit like this. Just randomly walking by and sitting on laps from front back side whatever. He knew he was being filmed walked by, sat on Doyoung and then moved along right after. This boy had me side eying him for the longest cuz he really be doing all the skinships. That's is til his vlive scandal came out.
