This is so infuriating. Some of us in here are minors (including me). I just want to see people my age represent us in the music I (we) like. Sadly Korea is quite behind (not a safe place to come out) so we are only left to assume. We don’t stalk because first, we aren’t stupid! Second, the things we share aren’t sexual in nature and if it is many people shut that person down! Thirdly, the things we share are what idols say or do meaning is already out there. As a minor I just want to know if people my age are the same as me. Most of the content we share are stuff from older groups like BTS or Jackson from got7 is discussed often. We don’t desperately need to talk about people my age (it’s a rare occurrence) but, when someone share something it’s a cute video and we say it’s cute that’s it then we are back to discussing about Heechuls genius glass closet.

I don’t think many of us are gonna agree. We do have a lot of discussions on BTS so there’s no point in arguing. From what I’ve seen most people are sure that V isn’t straight so, we agree on something. lol

I know some of you dislike his voice but, it’s slowly improving. Plus this song is a bop. At first I didn’t really like his voice but, I didn’t care because there’s famous western singers who can’t sing. I just wanted to stream a lot because if gay idols see him doing well, it may encourage a change in the korean music market. Anyways maybe I’m delusional but, his voice has improved. Tbh I think if a BTS member came out they’ll survive it. It won’t be easy, obviously. The reason why I say this is because they have a large fanbase. It may cut the fanbase down but, even if many people are lost loads more still remain. What do you think?

 

It’s safe to say though that nobody will probably come out unless they’ve done their military enlistment. Or like a user said was born in another country. Do you think Jo Kwon will officially come out once he is finished in the military?

I'm trying to find a masterpost or something, but it's tough because there's literally about 14 years of receipts lmao rip.

 

Though, one thing I could point out is that, as far as I can remember, they've only denied it a few times, once before they went into the military, and otherwise when interviewers seriously implied or even directly asked about them being a couple. For example, this one post-military. I can think of about five times interviewers or MCs have done that, or commented about them acting like a married couple, so it's not surprising that they would deny it. Not much else you can do when someone says something like that point blank on camera. Heechul has denied being gay quite a few times too, after all.

With Nam Taehyun again, I’m surprised he has a girlfriend. I thought he was gay. As a bisexual person he doesn’t ping as bi for me but, that’s just feeling. He could be bi or pan.

 

I don’t know why but, he seemed like the person who wouldn’t do a whole bearding thing. That’s why I will agree that he’s bisexual.

 

His brother has the pride flag on one of his instruments. If I remember correctly; he may just think it’s RAINBOW! I think his brother is supportive lgbt+. What do you guys think? i get that as kpop fans we want to have SK be fabulous, and there's always promises of "well young people are different!" but honestly SK is still in a pretty awful place as far as LGBT+ rights are concerned (and gay kpop fans have been shouting "well young people are different!" for a decade now and not much has changed). mandatory military service just makes everything worse as well, with "gay hunts" leading to dishonorable discharge and lifetime shame.

 

you can probably live comfortably as a gay person there (especially if you are a foreigner), but SK is still very far back and the societal pressure can be crushing.

Do you think if they stopped the whole gay witch hunt more idols will come out?

Also, there's a huge difference between people dismissing public relationships basically to the celebrity's face (with gay rumors based on nothing concrete, from what I've seen with Shawn Mendes) and privately recognizing that this doesn't seem to match up with pretty clear statements he's made in the past. With how common bearding is among regular LGBT people in SK, it's not a wild notion that some celebrities would do it too.

 

Of course, only he knows how he really feels. I just think we should be realistic about the situation for gay people in SK and know that they won't always be able to tell the truth.

I agree with you! We can’t really know. Again I hope it’s not bearding as it just makes me feel sorry for the girl and sorry for the man that feels the need to do it. I don’t listen to Shawn I find him boring but, the way he handeled the whole thing was a little dramatic. Nobody gets cold sweats that people think they’re straight so, why is it like this the other way round? Apparently he said that again I could be wrong so sorry in advance.

 

Donghae and Eunhyuk never fail to confuse me lmao. Hiding in plain sight that even I a non-het gets confused. The only thing that makes me confused is Sehun in this situation. If they where together D and E why did D supposedly like S. That also confuses me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing I saw people talking about in regards to Donghae and Sehun was that picture of them at the sauna. Going to a sauna is not really a romantic activity in Korea, so I'm not exactly sure why people made such a big deal out of it. Do correct me if I missed something though.

 

But in general, I don't think Donghae had anything romantic with Sehun. I think he just supported him as a company senior and hyung (and possibly a fellow not-straight person). D and E were attached at the hip during that whole time, which would have been kind of odd if he had been dating another guy. Just my two cents though.

i do not see this making a big dent as the issues are not directly related and idols themselves are not as big a deal in Korea as international fans think. however, if it was several idols and they decided to actively turn the conversation to LGBT people in the military, then people might turn their attention to it.

You've never seen Coffee Prince or any of his other amazing dramas?! He's one of my favorite actors and jaewook (along with yoo ah in, im siwan, bogum and a few others) have always pinged as gay or at least bi to me.

sadly I didn’t know who he was. I’ve only started watching some Kdramas but, Gilmore girls has entered my life again so that’s all I’ve been watching.

I also thought it was all choreo but the way the dancer almost straddled his thigh or the way Kai put his hands around his waist came off as very intimate compared to the other members' interaction with their assigned dancer. Interesting indeed. Maybe Kai is a very touchy kind of friend but... Am I the only one to think it's a bit much given their ages?
