So i'm watching knk's vlives and i don't know if this was discussed before or if it counts as a receipt. The subs are ok, but there is some delay and some errors and i don't know korean yet. Around 29 mins in, a fan asked Jihun's mom who does she want as a son in law since Jihun has a sister. Seoham (previously known as Seungjun) said what if Jihun brings one of us, and you can see everyone staring at him for a second in what could be interpreted as disbelief/panic since it sounded like what if Jihun brought home a bf, but then Seoham said, if Jihun brought one of them for his sister while he was laughing.

 

I could be wrong but that awkward silence could be seen as either like omfg his mom is right there!, or omfg we're LIVE! Who knows, maybe Seoham was testing the waters. I've heard that he's one of the biggest sus in knk.

 

Does anyone have any receipts or thoughts on KNK?

Edit: If the dispatch contacting management is true, then dispatch is horrible, what they're doing is literally blackmailing companies for money at the expense of someone's livelihood. I wonder if it's legal to do that in Korea. I'm hoping for the day that dating isn't considered a career ending scandal in Korea. I just can't wrap my head around how dating is such a taboo, regardless if fans get butthurt and delusional about it. It's annoying honestly.

as for reciepts, people were posting some a few pages back. if you look up knk skinship videos you’ll also probably notice how some of their behaviour seems to go beyond fanservice and doesn’t seem very straight

 

lmao i forgot about the skinship vids, i'm so used to seeing them so cuddly that i forgot that it counts as a receipt. There's literally a 1.5 hour vid of them just doing skinship, and that was uploaded when they were active for a year and a half. Most of them are from their vlives and their variety show my knk tv.I think they win the world record for cuddliest idol group lol I can't wait to see if Dongwon (new member since December 19, 2018) is as cuddly as them, I mean he has to at least be used to it, he's known them since pre-debut. We have only seen a hint of it on his first vlive with them.

 

I am curious about receipts that don't involve their huge amounts of skinship though.

I wonder what will happen to Holland in the future. He's still young so I'm sure he hasn't been in the military yet but he will have to do it in the future. And he's openly gay so... He's gonna be in big trouble.

 

Has he ever said if he enlisted to the military or not? There is a chance that he did it as soon as he got out of high school, i know Hweseung from N.Flying did that. If not, hopefully by the time he has to enlist when he's 28-30 years old, so at minimum like 6 years, things are WAY better by then.

I'm not an expert of the kpop world since this is my first year that I'm into it, but I can honestly see dispatch starting to out celebrities once the public and fans stop giving a shit about about a man and a woman dating. Companies would stop paying the ransom and dispatch would be losing a lot of money. Same sex couples on the other hand, it's going to take a long while for the public to accept, especially celebrities with their fans. Companies would pay a LOT to keep that hush hush. I can imagine dispatch outing them in a heartbeat once their het couple blackmail stops working.

 

 

It would be hard(er) for Dispatch to out a same-sex couple because most of the time they catch couples on dates, they can only take pictures of them hanging out, not even kissing or holding hands or anything like that. So even if they took pictures of a same-sex couple walking side by side, their company could just deny that they are dating and I'm sure many fans would believe them 'cause "there's no gays in Korea!" The only way they could out someone is if they manage to take pictures of them kissing or maybe if it's of someone who is already rumored to be gay like Jo Kwon or Yoo Ah In. Then again, in their case the public would probably just be like "duh... we already knew they're gay."

 

Even if there isn't any hard evidence, if dispatch says that they're a couple, i think that the couple will be under a LOT of scrutiny and they'll over analyze any interaction for proof that dispatch was right. in my opinion, if people can believe dispatch saying that they're a couple just by pics of them hanging out and getting into a car, which could be pics of a platonic outing, what's to say that they won't believe a gay couple with the same type of pictures?

This honestly just seems like obvious teasing. A lot of these scenes are just uncomfortable to me lol.

 

But I do have to wonder if less-known male groups have to embark on male-on-male fanservice more to get noticed (until they become big enough to not do it as much anymore)?

Really? I mean im not that familiar with the group since im starting to know them, but the body language, at least for me, it seems that they are comfortable doing it and just love having fun and showing affection. From compilations ive seen, in one vid they discussed about ungjae's sexual preference changing from girl to boy and vice versa, and of them i think jian? Got exposed by ungjae saying that jian said he liked men yesterday. Although i did chose a video compilation of them just doing the intense skinship/kissing. there are a lot of softer moments from them though. Could be why you feel uncomfortable with the vid.

 

For me, for lesser known groups it could go either way. Either since theyre not under the spotlight and not that well known theyre more comfortable in saying and doing gay stuff and be more true to themselves or they could use it to gain attention from fans (or they do both and its a win-win).

 

Its a double edged sword though, doing some super strong fanservice like kissing and not showing disgust or making excuses that they dont want to do it. Koreans love gay fanservice but they draw a line when they see that people like doing it. And if theyre known for their fanservice, it wouldnt benefit them to stop doing it since they will lose the reason on why fans love them and their brand. Pretty sure there are fans that just stan a group for looks and fanservice, not the personalities and music.

All sexuality is limited to the bedroom. The only thing to really discuss is romantic attraction, and some asexual people can feel that too. As in a man can be homoromantic (have romantic feelings for another man) and be asexual (not feel any sexual attraction). But in general when people say asexual they usually mean both aromantic and asexual. So yes it would be very hard to know if someone is asexual, but isn't it the same for other sexualities unless you catch them dating someone else? I see people here saying "since I've not seen him interested in anyone, he's straight". Why not just say "I don't know" instead of that?

 

And, honestly, despite what I just said, I don't mind people not listing asexual when guessing people sexualities. Asexual people aren't oppressed, they just aren't understood so representation isn't really important. And I know some people have a hard time understanding it so they would rather not talk about it. What I mind is people saying things like "unnecessary to shove that kind of label at them". What is that supposed to mean? Asexuality is not an insult or a bad thing.

 

As a aromantic/asexual, I need to comment on this. You had me agreeing there until this part. This sentence even contradicts itself. Representation actually helps a LOT in a sexuality being understood by others but you're saying that it isn't important because it's not an understood sexuality. Every sexuality that is not the standard cis straight person face oppression and harsh judgement. Asexuals do face oppression, but in a different way. Some people get raped because the rapist thinks that it'll fix them, just like other sexualities, we get told that it's just a phase, that we'll find the right person, some people think that it's a mental illness or that it's something wrong in our bodies. Also, there are asexuals that are in a romantic relationship with the same gender that are judged just as harshly as a LGBT couple. 

 

Alll sexualities need representation, regardless of the levels of oppression that they go through. Even asexuals go through the phase of thinking that something is wrong with them, that we're broken, that we're never going to be loved or be happy in a relationship. Some asexuals that cannot stand sex force themselves to have sex, thus affecting their mental health, hoping that by having sex they would be fixed and also for the fear of being alone forever since society puts a LOT of importance of sex in a relationship. Same thing applies to aromantics just change the sexual part to romantic and being in a relationship. Of course, there are people that are okay with having sex despite being asexual and some aromantics that want to be in a relationship despite that.

 

You don't know how relieved I was when I discovered what aromantic/asexual was. I was thinking for so long that the reason I was never in a relationship was because I was too picky about potential partners.  I had depressive episodes thinking that I was going to be alone forever and die alone with no one to love me because I didn't want to be in a relationship without falling in love and was always waiting for that spark that people always talked about but never came. I actually thought that something was wrong with me because I have never felt it and didn't understand what the big deal was with falling in love and having sex.  

 

Why would you deny representation on a sexuality and not give them the sense of belonging and relief of knowing that they're not broken that LGBT people have, just because it's a lesser known sexuality and we don't fit the oppression requirements/quota that other sexualities have?

Seriously though, it is SO uncommon to find them in media, it's annoying when suddenly the aro/ace coded character suddenly falls in love at the end in a happy sexual and romantic relationship.

Yongguk : straight

 

Himchan : could be bi, i used to think he could be gay but since hus scandal it seems obvious he is not (even though we still have no idea if it was true)

 

Daehyun : probably straight but cool with it since he did the most fanservice

 

Yougjae : could be gay, i remember a video from their 2017 tour where he was eyeing up a male fan

 

Jongup : ???

 

Zelo/Junhong : 99,9% sure he is bi, i guess it's just a feeling but there was also the btob minhyuk who still treat him like a baby

Basically Marz did an IG live and said SM's PR department has talked about Jennie and Kai and implied they could be just a PR couple. It's amusing that Heejun always tried to take advantage of any situation to have some skinship with Youjin since Youjin doesn't like skinship xD I don't know how he survived the cuddlefest that's knk when he was in the group. 

 

It's interesting how he doesn't like skinship but he doesn't mind kisses. There was a vlive that they had to guess a specific body part that's put on a poster board with a hole in it and you could only touch it with your face. Youjin put his chin as the body part for heejun to guess and heejun was literally using his lips and kissing even near his lips and he was smiling.

I can't remember that well but there was another vlive where Heejun, and I think either Inseong or Jihun said something like he kisses us at night or kiss us like you do at night. If i find the vid i'll put it in. I'm pretty sure he was the token straight in the group but I like that he seems open minded. Once Seoham kissed Inseong's cheek because Inseong was like if you enjoyed your time kiss me here. He had that face of disbelief but he smiled.
