I've been reading this thread for years, and as a retired professional dancer from Los Angeles (I spent 20 years in the entertainment industry first as a dancer, then choreographer/director) I find some of the posts amusing. I came to kpop around 2006 or so and soon discovered my gayday was ringing off the hook. You must understand, I came out in 1977 when the entertainment industry was about as closeted as South Korea is today, it's very similar. Regular back-up dancers back then didn't have to worry about being in the closet, this area of the business was always out and vocal...but it was fun to find out dirt about performers to see if we were right (today you call it receipts..we called it 'getting the dirt') 

 

When I was a dance teacher, I have been able to spot students would would eventually come out as gay..and this was when they were 8 years old. I would run into them years later and they would introduce me to boyfriends....so my gaydar is pretty well defined. I may, from time to time, share. I know my gaydar is pretty good because I set up a major Hollywood movie star with his first boyfriend..and this star is STILL in the closet. That's his right...I will not divulge who it is.

 

For me, having worked in front and behind camera, I know when things are staged, and when I should pay attention. Normally what catches my eye is not what is said, but how something is expressed. I watch closely for certain mannerisms. Those who wish to ship people within the same group is a fun fantasy, but I doubt it is ever real. As a professional, you don't have sex with cast members, too much drama. You do, however, date other performers outside your group.

 

Anyway, if you wish, I'll try and post my list of who I think is gay or not. You should know that being Gay has little to do with sex partners....but it DOES have a lot to do with who you can romantically fall in love.

Here’s a partial list of people I would say are Gay. This is the read I get as though I were standing in a room and I observed them from afar by how they react, and the vibe given off. Now that people can be out, Gaydar, in my opinion is something developed when people tried to hide their true self, but other gay people can figure it out. Someone asked a few posts back if I am ever confused, or unsure. The answer is yes. I can't get any read from Astro. This group is a good example of me trying not to project a personal wish on a group or person. Each member of Astro is cute as a button. When the group first debuted my husband saw them on a music show and said, "They are cute." BTW, my husband is Asian, Chinese/Japanese mix, but was raised in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese. He's helped me understand the pitfalls of people saying things like people act a certain way because they are asian..which is pretty stereotypical.

 

Anyway...both Moonbin and Rocky remind me of many dancers I've known so I keep an eye on them. My problem with Astro is that they are always media managed and are very aware of the camera (more so than other groups). Since they want to build a good fan base, I'm sure they are aware that young gay men like them as well so they play into that. On the plus side, due to their young age, I think they pretty much represent the current thinking of younger people in South Korea with regard to sexual orientation. They are open, and non-judgemental. 

 

But, besides the two I mentioned, I am confused by MJ as well. More than the others, I think he might be totally different off camera. It would be interesting to view him with away from the media.

I need more of your analyses, tbh. Can you give me a little bit more on History?

I wonder why Daehwi doesn't get talked about here much.  His relationship with Jinyoung seems like it would cause more discussion than it does.  I'm not saying that we need to be talking more about him, but just curious why less people seem interested in analyzing him.

I will put this on spoilers because this is kinda off topic and I don't know how true this is so don't take this too seriously.

 

Apparently, two BTS' dancers are boyfriends?? Some people (armys) started to notice it and started to talk about their relationship on one of the dancer's instagram and said dancer deleted most of his instagram photos. Right now, there are only 7 photos and one of them is a picture of the two with an gay couple emoji as a the caption. The other dancer replied to the photo with an emoji of two boys kissing

 

I don't know if this is true, as I only heard of it on tumblr... but here is the link to the first dancer instagram. The other dancer is the first one to reply to the photo, his username is @seoung_kwan.

i literally just met him through weekly idol and the first thing i noticed was his mannerisms while dancing to weki meki's song. i mean, most guys when covering either look awkward or go fully into the character. when i watched him i felt the same way i did when monsta x's minhyuk covered miss a's bad girl good girl.

 

I'm still not sure about him (other than me likey), but TAG sure is fabulous. He was the one waacking.
