anyone can say "____ is mine"/"my boyfriend." a lot of people say it teasingly with their friends. people also like to feign jealousy (or play up jealousy) to show people they care about them. it doesn't mean that they are being entirely serious. in fact, saying something like that so outright in a country as openly conservative and homophobic as korea is more likely NOT serious. ESPECIALLY on camera while they are being a group.

the laughter could easily be because it's an amusing joke. while sometimes the truth can be funny, why would he be laughing if it were true? it just seems unlikely in this particular context.

 

other idols, other ships have made similar comments and have had all sorts of varied responses (some like this). what makes this specific one "real?"

 

Sorry, but thats a weak arguement. You say "anyone can say it" and you say "maybe its not true because it could be a joke". You can kill any good arguement with that kind of talk.

 

If we go by your logic, any guy can physicially have sex with another guy and not really be gay. Just because he is doing it physicially is no proof for you, because it could just be a joke or he lost a bet or something. So with your logic, you could catch 2 idols having sex together on cam, you can still doubt that they are gay. But then we can close this thread.

 

If i cannot refer to the words that the idol in question said HIMSELF.... to argue about the feelings of that SAME person, what can i refer to ? If you doubt everything Youngjae says then i dont need to argue with You about Youngjaes feelings for JB.

 

Then what is an acceptable hint/arguement for You ????

The thing is

 

Rather than words, the way the words are spoken is important. And body language is more telling than any words could be. Not just for shipping but for any friendships/relationships etc in general.

 

That's why with my favorite OTP I don't really pay attention some of the things they say, I always notice at how they respond to each other physically. It's not really good to say, "x is real" based on a few things that were said. People are more careful and conscious of what they speak, rather than how they move or exist, so that's why body language is more natural.

 

I don't know how to even explain this in words, just that I'm really good with reading body language and this is how I could usually notice some things.

 

I totally agree with You. i am a firm believer in reading body language (check some of my older posts in this thread) and i believe in paying attention to little hints. (sudden emotional outbreaks, actions that almost go unnoticed) Unfortunately, thats even harder to defend against the arguement "it could be a lie / a misunderstanding." So its really hard to argue about a feeling that you feel when others dont feel the same feeling.

 

To me, its still a high quality argument if idols say directly "i love him" or "he is mine". Of course, it could be a lie. It could also be just very strong friendly feeling and not sexual. But you know, if a guy openly clearly says he loves another guy, it should count for something when we discuss whether he is gay/bisexual or not. Thats my opinion.

I think it's more about that people don't understand human behavior rather than they "don't feel the same feeling" Some things are blatant, people just don't want to see it or don't know how to.

 

Sure, words could be used as some sort of evidence..but it also depends on where, too. For example, I'll use my ship as this example. Ren and JR (NU'EST) on variety or etc don't really do blatant fanservices regarding their ship. They don't say, "I love you" to each other on public broadcast or anything like this. But, Ren is always in Instagram saying he loves JR or sending kiss emoji to JR, or liking JREN posts in his tag. and on JR's birthday he uploaded a video of him sucking ice cream in a..."weird" way and making weird noises, and said he would delete it in 5 minutes (which he did) and told JR happy birthday. He uploaded another and said JR was next to him. He deleted that one too. In fact this ship was not created out of variety but out of Ren and JR's actions to each other elsewhere. There's other things, like they are always shoulder to shoulder, always stuck together at airports, they share the dorm room together, they sneak to hold each other's hands and think no one is looking, etc.

 

So I could believe more this, than if they were to go on public broadcast and say they love each other.

 

So then I want to ask, for the ship you're talking about, if you take away what they've said, do you have anything else as evidence?

 

I think Ren / JR sounds very believable. In fact, JB has also posted in social media about Youngjae. But every relationship is different and some guyz might express their love differently. There is a very high chance that there is a Gay Idol Couple we know NOTHING about because they dont give any hint in public and avoid any contact and just meet in a dark room at night, where they have a romantic night all alone and have wonderful sex. I am sure there is at least 1 gay idol couple out there and i am sure both idols look and behave totally straight.

 

Yes, 2Jae has more than just words The most well-known is probably the visit to the dorm when we can clearly see that JB and Youngjae did INDEED share 1 matress and slept on it together for a long time. There is also a lot of skinship and they have a lot of eye-contact even when they are not the main focus on cam.

 

I just want to say this very clearly... i am not saying that i can proof that 2Jae a real couple. I dont think any fan can 100% proof his idol is 100% gay. Even the well-written Shinee Key analysis from page 2 (which persuaded me that Key is probably gay) cannot 100% proof that Key is really gay.

 

Even if you know someone in real life and there is a rumor that this person is gay, you dont know for sure. It was funny in school. There was a rumor that i am gay but i never 100% confirmed it. I didnt hold back with my actions or body language. I stared at cute guys intensely and during sport i touched a little bit here and there. (That was fun! ) But still.... because i never 100% confirmed it.... people were not sure if i am really gay. It was pretty obvious though. There was 1 straight guy i had a serious crush on... i took so many vids and pics of him... it was soooo obvious.. he himself noticed though.... at some point he started posing sexily for me, when i took pics. haha.

You generalize your distrust in koreans who say they are gay. Your opinion is that gay people in korea would most likely not say that in a camera  because Korea is conservative and homophobic. Lets see..... Hong Seok-cheon is an openly gay Korean. He says that into a camera anytime. But yes, that still works for your argument because you dont say "never" you just say "more likely". So there are exceptions. Some Koreans really DO say their love feelings in public. Youngjae is most likely one of those exceptions. Mostly because he is popular worldwide which gives him a certain protection and standing. Also, he knows that the kpop fan community is open to bisexual/gay feelings for fellow idol group members so there is a good reason to believe he can say it out loud if its true. 

 

Your last reason is that it could be a joke and that it seems unlikely in this particular context. I fail to understand why it seems unlikely in this particular context ? The topic is love for JB (as expressed by a fan) so Youngjae takes this opportunity to express his true love for JB. He already made it obvious earlier during other broadcasts so its not like he is coming out of the closet at this particular moment. I think the situation fits very well for this kind of comment.

 

 

if humans always told exactly what they were feeling exactly as it is all the time, then we could take his words as they are. however, words are the way of communicating we are MOST adept at manipulating and playing around with. you can use words for an argument, but you have to explain why the words can be trusted.

 

Words can easily be manipulated. Humans lie a lot. True. But that still doesnt mean that your standard approach to a persons words should be: its a lie until prooven trustworthy. If i want to argue that Youngjae has love feelings for JB... and Youngjae says he has love feelings for JB himself.... then thats a strong arguement for my position.

 

I SUM IT UP:

Your whole arguement is based on your assumption that this is a fake fan service. But thats just your opinion. You demand arguments and facts for my opinion. But thats also just my opinion. i cannot look inside Youngjae's head for a 100% proof. Like it or not, this thread "Which Idol is Gay" is mostly about our personal feeling. Some things that we think are meaningful can just happen by random. Some things that we think are random, might be meaningful.

"Which Idol is Gay" in its core, is just about gut feeling and mostly guessing on our part.

I think MOST OF US know this. But we can still share what we feel or think and what we suspect.

And if Youngjae says JB is his man, then i think thats share-worthy.

I know you are not into EXO, but by your logic D.O. and Tao were probably gay for each other, right?

Cause they have more interaction on backstage videos/fanaccounts of 2 of them hang out with 2 other members than they ever ever had on any tv show. They interact so little to the point leading to majority of both fandom dislike each other. Yet they don't seems to be awkward on those backstage videos. And when they interact with each other they are also quite touchy.

 

When Kris left the group Tao scolded Kris and D.O. also say something like 'let's just move on' when normally he don't say anything.

Both has fascination for trophies.

plus, they are a young male idol group. their first song was "girls, girls, girls." while they welcome male fans, they are clearly meant to advertise to a female audience who finds them attractive. it may be perfectly fine for there to be an openly gay member in the group, but for the sake of sales you can bet they are advised to keep that information private.

 

Got7 members cannot be gay because their debut song is "girls , girls , girls" ?????

 

You say they would never allow an openly gay member for the sake of sales.... still, they allow Got7 members to do intense skinship in front of the cam that can be seen as gay. Then what about Xhu and Galhardo posts about JR / Mark ? They are Got7 members and allowed to touch each other in front of the cam and do all sorts of things. So you say everything about Mark and JR is fake too ?

 

 

it's on TV and they are idols. not that everything is a LIE, perse, but it's stretched and played up. they are being characterizations of themselves (possibly they are nothing like that in real life, but i bet they are just exaggerated extensions of their own personalities). it's like that with anyone on TV or in the public eye.

 

is fan service usually 100% true in your experience? is every kpop group out there best friends, split into multiple gay couples per group? are exo members like a wolf-pack in real life? do talented vocalists really only want to be a humble member of the group with no solo ambitions?

The topic is very clear. This thread is about "Who is gay". Unfortunately, that means it is not a place to talk about special forms of sexuality or other off-topics. I think its weird that some users admit that "yes, i am off-topic" but then want a long spoiler-discussion over many pages about a topic that is indeed off-topic. What you need to do, if you are off-topic, is to start a new thread and discuss it in that thread on-topic. It is okay to post 1 or 2 off-topic remarks in spoilers, but having a whole discussion over many pages is too much. Just my opinion though.

 

Feeling uncomfortable in "Which male idols do you think are gay?"

I had many heated discussions in my life. No problem. Still, for me personally this thread here is the most uncomfortable, most cold and most agressive place on OH. Some people seem to take this place a little bit too serious. When you post you are immediately pushed into an in-depth analysis as if this thread is some kind of scientific research program.

 

In the OP it says.... "Here we discuss who we think is gay, bi, bi-curious. I want to get down to the bottom of this. This is NOT a place that demands of you to scientifically-proof a feeling that you have about an idol. When you post here you get attacked and provoked and are told to justify your feelings in detail. (happened to me more than once). Luckily it does not say "who can you proof is gay?" it says "who do you THINK is gay?". Huge difference. So maybe all those who are so eager to overanalyze anything can just accept the fact that it is perfectly okay to post "a feeling" and not give any proof. There is no rule that you have to write an essay. Talking down to people who just make a short remark and dont scientifically-proof anything is just rude. They did nothing wrong here. In fact, we can fill 100 pages with only unjustified unprooven feelings and still be perfectly okay and on-topic." Just saying. 

 

The interesting OP term "gay, bi, bi-curious"

This thread is not just for the topic "who do you think is gay". Its enough to just adress bi-curious guys. That means i am on-topic and perfectly fine with my post if i just write about an idol couple that i dont even believe is 100% gay. There is no need to critizise or attack such a post. Maybe you want to analyze everything in an agressive scientific way. But thats not needed for every discussion here.

 

About my own posts in this thread, if i may

If you keep all the things in mind that i wrote above.... posting about 2JAE and stating one of them said he loves the other one, is a perfectly fine statement that does not need to be justified or analyzed to be acceptable. In fact, just posting a gif of 2 guys hugging each other, can already be seen as "bi-curious" and qualifies for this thread. I dont even have to type words, a gif hug would be enough. The arguement "All that is done during broadcast is fake and doesnt count" is just an opinion. It has not yet been prooven by science. I do agree that A LOT that happens during broadcast is fake but definately not all. So my opinion is different on this. Some of the stuff that happens during broadcast is real. Example: Key having love moments with Jonghyun during broadcast is mostly accepted as real feelings Key had. After all, they DO say it. They DO hug. They DO cuddle. So there is no need to attack people who refer to that.

I hope that this example will show some "eager over-analyzing scientists" in this thread what i mean and maybe it helps in future discussions in this thread. My feels are that 2Jae is one of the most believable most natural couples when it comes to skinship and caring. There is only a handful of idol couples (maybe 5 or 6 ?) that give me this kind of feel. Its the same feeling i get when i am with gay couples or when i am with a partner myself (i am gay.). Other idol couples feel a bit forced/uncomfortable to me.

My main point: i get a feel that this could be real feelings. It feels like real gay couples that i know.

I mainly wrote about my feels only and never intended to focus on reasons. However, i did write a reason (=remind me of a gay couple). This gets mocked by this response with a trick. First, my non-reasons are listed and called weak reasons. Then my 1 reason gets accepted just to be mocked a few words later by saying "but thats pretty much all you said" immediately taking the compliment back. Keep in mind that my original post was SHORT and 1 reason only fits the length of my post. Furhermore, i am told that i should contribute to the discussion implying that i did not do so in my orginal post.

Now i get good arguements why idol-words on broadcast should not be trusted. Its a well-written opinion, i acknowledge that. But if you keep my original post in mind....  i talked about the fact that i got a feeling while watching them that this is real.  Anyway, starting from this point on i am acting stupid and try to come up with scientific explainations. Quite stupid of me, and i get drawn into a discussion that demands from me to proof my feelings with science.

 

This is just my opinion. The other person might have a different opinion and good arguement for their actions. But since this person likes to analyze and discuss , i just put this out there to express my opinion.

as for doojoon above kikwang, i think it's because doojoon is more boyfriend-type material and also less adamantly straight (kikwang, while hot, seems pretty clueless about male fans and just in general a little clueless).

 

i think its such a close race between Doojoon and Kikwang that its literally a Draw anyway. 29% and 30%.

 

Just curious....  could You please write the names of Kpop Idols that You think are gay ? Names would be enough, i am not asking for a long explaination. I am just curious who You think is gay, because You seem to base Your decision on good proof / facts. So i figure, if You think an idol is gay, there would be some very good arguements. Just curious. woohyun, key, sungjong, sungmin, yunho, taeyang, jonghyun (shinee), kwanghee, jokwon, heechul, kevin (the bastard who's unwilling to admit it even to himself), jr/jinyoung, mark, rokhyun (from 100%), hyungkon (from a-jax), soohyun (from u-kiss), brian joo, jaejoong, minhyuk (from btob), tao, sehun, suho (he may belong in the lower category; i seem to be the only one who thinks this), baekhyun, youngjae (from bap)

 

people i have suspicions but can't make up my mind:

 

myungsoo, siwon, jonghwan (from 100%), donghae, eric nam, TOP, wooyoung (recently leaning no on this one), joon, ilhoon

 

 

 

i may be missing some groups. i tried to list everyone that i have an opinion on. unfortunately i have almost zero opinion on beast, teen top, and vixx, though i've heard rumors about junghyun and l.joe and hyunseung and changjo give me vibes from the very few times i've seen them. there are also other idols i'm more vaguely suspicious of, but i have even less confidence one way or the other.

 

most of my opinions are pretty meldable, though. more than who is secretly gay i am more interested in who would stand up for their (gay) male fans, who understands us and appreciates us as we are, etc.

 

Yunho was my first Kpop Idol Love, so he better be gay. Woohyun & BTOB Minhyuk would be awesome. Those 2 are more wishful thinking on my part. Soohyun keeps saying "no" but the way he behaved in Variety Shows gives it away. haha.

 

Hyungkon from AJAX ???? REALLY ??   Ilhoon ? wow, some names really surprise me.

I dont know, but for all this time I looked at the first gif of minhyuk and Hyunsik showering, and When I searched for it in the internet I Found the second one. In the first one the bottom in not completely blurred while in the second one it is. Now, I analysed the bottom accurately and that thing that pops out from minhyuk is definitely not his hand.

Short cynical sentences can hurt. Surprisingly, these kind of cynical sentences can be found a lot in gay communities. Hmmm, i wonder why ? i just hear them a lot from other gay men. That makes it much more believable. If JB thinks that Mark is straight, he would take it as a joke and wouldnt mind. If JB knows / suspects that Mark is gay, he takes it serious and is annoyed/disgusted for a moment. A good hint that Mark is really gay.

I was thinking today....if companies asks their stars to do a little bit of fanservice, and you have to start to show one of your member that kind of affection. Dont you think that you would get really confused?

 

For example lets say Yunho was told by one of the managers to make a little bit of fanservice with Jaejoong. Now we know Jaejoongs past, having only sisters so he is more used to being touched and being around girls.

 

Now imagine yourself in such a situation, if a girl/guy starts to look at you like that and is really nice to you. At first you think "WTF?!", but then when it keeps on...it starts to feel normal. And then you just realize that this should not feel normal.....and that you should ask yourself why you are liking this and why you suddenly feel nervous around him/her. Whats that pounding...whenever you interact with each other? 

 

Dont you think that kpop companies are hooking up some pairing without knowing?

 

I mean you cant play the heart....i know that you cannot turn someone gay, but this fanservice thing could maybe awake your bisexuality?

They have to do so many photoshooting and live so close together. They always dress up and get heavy beautiful makeup. They see fans go crazy over other members. If they really have a bi/gay side then it will come alive just from the normal idol group activities. You dont even need the special order from the company. Idols also have a lot of skinship. In fact, Koreans have more skinship than us europeans. Its completely different in germany. So its normal that you have more body contact. Koreans also share their food with each other while eating. You couldnt do that in Europe / germany. That means Korean culture is more social / more skinship already.

i think in B.A.P. there is a situation that i witnessed (and experienced myself) in REAL LIFE.

 

A gay guy (Youngjae) falls in love with a hot straight guy (Daehyun). The straight guy notices whats going on, is open-minded and has no problem with a bit of body contact. He has fun teasing and playing with the feellings of his gay fanboy, finds the love/crush amusing and kind of enjoys the power he has over him. Like i said, the straight guy must be open-minded for this.

 

to me it seems like Daehyun enjoys this but is never really deeply emotioally involved. Its a lot of fun for him but more like playing. Whereas Youngjae is often flustered, nervous, emotionally touched even when he shouldnt show it during a tv recording.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daehyun tells Youngjae to stop flirting with fans because Youngjae is his fanboy.

 

 

My Main Message here is..... Many Idol Groups will have 1 GAY only, who is seduced by the sex-appeal of his group members. I think thats highly likely !

open-minded or not, they shouldn't play with the gay one's heart like that

used to be in that situation. Ended up that straight boy spreaded that i'm gay and i liked him for all my classmates 

 

In my case, the straight boy was being generous and allowed flirting and some body contact but didnt allow me to go too far. Just small gestures and he enjoyed the fact that i was lovesick for him. Unfortunately, someone else notices my flirting and that someone else spreaded that i am gay. So in my case, it was a 3rd person that spread it.
