Not to mention atheists are definitely not "outsiders" in Korea considering they're over half of the population

To top it all off, homophobia is often connected to christianity in Korea and the most dedicated protesters against gay rights there are the christian community. If anything, being christian and gay would fuck a korean up. Compare for example: christian Siwon and atheist Heechul.

You see, I don't understand that, if Korea has so many atheists then where is all the homophobia coming from? Is it really internal then? Without a religious reason? I know being religious doesn't necessarily mean or equal homophobia either but from what I've seen it comes a lot from it - or at least religious people like to use it as their excuse, either way there is something about it. I think it's probably something to do with the older generation, perhaps, I've never wrapped my mind around homophobia tbh so I can't even begin to understand why it exists, like gay people are literally not affecting anyone in any way? Except for their own personal lives but that shouldn't bother people as much as it does

And atheism can be depressing, especially if it takes away from your peace of mind. I suffer from panic attacks and phobias and they often come from me not having anything to believe in, I wish it weren't depressing for me but you never know how other people deal with it...

as someone who had very little religious indoctrination growing up (just a few scraps here and there), i don't experience any negative feelings out of my atheism. in fact, i generally don't feel anything towards atheism at all. it's pretty much a non-issue to me.

 

not that there's anything wrong with the way you're feeling, but i wouldn't say it's atheism that's depressing so much as withdrawal from religion (if i'm right)

 

I've never been religious and I've never had nice thoughts about religion but I do tolerate people who practice one because it would be stupid and pointless of me not to... It's just a feeling I associate with it

I mostly agree with what you're saying. Taeyong is a loving hyung and a parent like person with most of the members, but he wants to be cared for too and he doesn't always like to lead, his submissive lyrics can kinda, maybe be linked to this. He just kinda let's go of that hyung-like attitude of course with Johnny but also with the other members who he's very close to, although they're younger than him. I don't really ship Taeyong with anyone in a romantic sense but as a Taeyong stan I naturally know about his interactions with everyone and the thing about Jaeyong (Taeyong+Jaehyun) that attracts shippers is that they don't have a normal hyung-dongsaeng relationship imo. Most of the time Taeyong acts like a lovesick puppy around him and Jaehyun seems more mature in comparison. Taeyong let's him get away with a lot of things so Jaehyun's been taking advantage of that recently, making himself look like he's got power over his hyung..   The reason why I don't ship is because Taeyong clearly touches him on purpose as fanservice when he knows there are cameras around. It's just a funny example of Taeyong's mindset. It reminds me of the famous "doesn't matter that you're younger than me, you're goodlooking so i'll call you oppa", Taeyong just seems to have that thing going on for tall and dominant guys. It doesn't have to be attraction, he just kinda naturally softens. It might just be that he was given a role that's too pressuring and he's more of a type to follow rather than lead, although he's been a good leader imo so far.

 

I also agree that he's hard to read. His mentality seems unstable and he has big mood swings, and I'm expecting that the way he behaves on camera will change at some point, either from his own decision or from something happening, I hope it's the former. From not having good friends as a child to the cold and collected mask he was trying to keep (and failed) during their debut, it seems like he's always been very wary of what people think of him, up until maybe now. It might be that his current image is just another layer on top of the real thing but as I stated earlier it doesn't really seem like it from the viewpoint of a Taeyong stan. That's why I'm not locking my opinion but it's a strong possibility in my mind that he isn't straight. I haven't really even talked about the real reasons why I suspect but my answer is getting too long already, sorry. I just haven't spoken about this to anyone and now it's like a breaking dam.

 

I ran out of upvotes to give but I agree with what you said, I notice the thing about Taeyong's mentality being unstable and him seeming to have mood swings, I just thought I was being too observant and seeing things 

But a lot of this seems true to me, at least from what I've seen of him, I follow NCT a lot since debut (not really before so idk how he was back then) but there's something murky about it all that I can't really put into a cohesive thought, let alone to discuss with anyone 

 

but just like Sehun, I remember he was my ultimate bias way back when EXO had just debuted and I thought Sehun was the biggest dick in the world, I had the same impression about Taeyong  I find it interesting how their personalities keep developing right before our eyes, I'm sure we will see more changes

Of course, but sexual attraction is also shown through body language which is (mostly) subconscious. We've seen Taeyong be affectionate with others plenty of times, and we've all seen how needy he can sometimes get. But all in a completely non-sexual way. Like baeyong said, he craves love and affection - that much is clear. But I can't remember him ever showing physical/sexual attraction to anyone, while some other members have done so in the past (i.e. Jaehyun and Ten in Chiang Mai, Jaehyun being hearteyes for Gongmyung at that award show, etc.).

Anyway, all of this really just came to mind because of what baeyong said about him not really showing any interest in sex. I know that his lyrics seem to imply otherwise, but I just thought it was an interesting possibility to think about. We also know that Taeyong is very introverted but he's been letting his guard down slowly as off recently (which is when he also started to ping like crazy for me, though I know others noticed it before as well). 

 

About Jaehyun, yeah, at this point I don't really have any doubt about his attraction to men anymore. I say bi mostly because he gives me a ''down-for-anything'' vibe, but let's be real, we really haven't seen enough (or any) interaction with women so we can't really speculate about whether or not he's attracted to them. Purely going off his ''perfect son-in-law'' image makes one inclined to believe so, but yeah, we will probably never know how much of that is real. 

Talking about this, yesterday I was watching one of Jaehyun and Johnny's Night Night radio episodes - with KARD because I'm obsessed with that group atm, but I didn't see anything from their interactions, two members from April were there too but they were all having friendly conversation? I think it's just really about personality but idk, I'm probably the worst person to ask about sexuality but I thought I'd comment since you said you hadn't seen him have any interaction with females lol

well... it really fits with what we've seen of him but if he really doesn't even have any female friends that kind of confuses me a bit. I have never dated a guy but I know I like guys, I have never dated a girl but I know I'm interested so I guess he should know regardless of personal experience but there's still room for doubt. I'm like 99% certain Taeyong is gay, that 1% is logical doubt about all sorts of things I have no idea about him - BUT, generally speaking I believe he is into dudes - and I'm rarely ever certain about anything haha
