Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

I havent been here for a long time but omg i swear Josaline loves coming here like clockwork to cause drama.

To stay on topic, I found this amusing. Im watching knk vlives from oldest to newest and in one from the date 2016.12.13 they were asked by fans if they prefer monolids or double eyelids (its obv an ideal type question) and Seungjun immediately went you mean on men? And went that men look handsome with double eyelids (if i remember correctly).

Also interesting is that no one corrected him and went we mean on a girl and they talked about eyelids on men and themselves, they never mentioned women.

I think Seungjun is one of the most suspected here, does anyone have receipts on him or the others?

Seungjun has so many receipts I wouldn't even know where to start. I came across this video again the other day though:

Ah i remember that vid it's so cute how he acted in front of his bias. ^w^ if only the search function worked id be looking for receipts. I know theres the google search thing but its not the same.

Well said! I'm tired of the callout culture that's rampant today and that if someone makes a mistake and has shown that they have changed they still hold that mistake over someone and they're forever cancelled. As if someone hasn't said or done something problematic in their life.

In another topic, I found it very amusing that at the SM halloween party, male idols dressed as women and were owning it and looked very comfortable. I'm only familiar with Ten's receipts from NCT but did the others that dressed as women are also suspected to be LGBT? I think i'td be very interesting if they were. Who knows maybe some of them are trans and use halloween as a front to dress their gender. What do you guys think?

Bobby and Donghyuk are super religious hardcore Christians and very close friends IRL.

Some of the other group members were raised in Christian households but don't go to church often or at all.

Hanbin has stated that he is no longer a Christian. I can't remember if he said he was atheist or agnostic.

This incident made me uncomfortable and I also have to ask: why would this be shocking to Hanbin's mother? Personally I feel that mothers always know. Maybe some choose to deceive themselves.

Im a casual fan of ikon but im curious, does bobby only tend to say those homophobic things in variety shows only? Or does he also say it on ikon vids? From the few vids ive seen i cant wrap my mind on him being homophobic. Also that is curious that Hanbin isnt christian anymore, maybe its because of his sexuality?

I haven't seen the video yet, and i don't excuse it cuz its a shitty prank, but like burntgucci said it's a good way to test the waters. You can be all HA you THOUGHT if they react negatively. No idea why they thought it was a good idea to release the vid though.

Youd be surprised how deep denial gets, i've literally told my mom that i wouldnt mind having a gf or have sex with a woman multiple times throughout the years when the conversation of being in a relationship came up (although she always did give me a look but never said anything)AND she has even asked me before if i was a lesbian and if a friend and i were dating before i shared that with her. Imagine my surprise and hurt that when i told her that im dating a girl, she reacted very negatively and acted like this was something out of the blue and that it was the first time hearing it.

So i have a question for discussion that just came to mind:

Would you believe what a celebrity says 100% if they say something vaguely or outright homophobic on either broadcast or variety shows? Would you take into consideration that they say what's the norm to stay under the radar?

Like imagine if the celebrity doesnt react negatively to something gay or says something positive. im 99.9% sure theyll get called out for being gay by editors, staff, members, or mcs. If they get called out or they seem suspicious everything would be investigated by antis and/or knets. Obviously i wish they didnt do that because they feed into the shitty mentally.

What do you guys think?

Its a tought position however it does not excuse reproducing homophobic behaviour. Celebrities are coached on how to talk and what to talk in public. See how they behave when they face difficult questions, they always stay neutral, always try to divert. They dont have to call out homophobic comments, however we should at least expect them to not reproduce homophobic behaviour.

Totally agree with you there. It can be a reason, since they want to fit in plus attract fans,  but it doesn't excuse it. Hopefully as time goes by less homophobic comments are said.

I mean sure I would believe they were being homophobic for real and not because they want to be "under the radar". It's not actually very common for idols to engage in overt homophobia. You'll more likely to see a LOT of toxic masculinity and hetero normative actions but not explicitly anti gay moments like Siwon for example.

To some maybe these toxic masculine traits are straight up homophobia but I tend to not classify it so explicitly when things like that are very common among the hets, especially guys. It's annoying but also very expected given SK culture and even western culture too tbh.

Also I don't agree to your point that not reacting negatively to something gay would be some kind of outing. Many idols engage in sus behavior or say very gay things and they don't necessarily have rumors spread about them being gay for example. BTS or Jackson act very gay but to most outside of this thread they're still considered totally straight

Sent from my SM-G570F using OneHallyu mobile app

That is true but i have noticed in my short time as a kpop stan that they love saying things like two men shouldn't be doing this and those variations, which I think people expect an idol to say which for me falls under the vaguely homophobic comments. You do have a point there, since there's the thing of fanservice which is a perfect cover. But who knows, maybe an idol uses those comments as a type of safety net and seem as straight as possible. Like for example, he can act super gay with his friends but the public would think: of course he can't be gay because he said why do we have to do this with men? and made a disgusted face every once in a while when he saw gay fanservice.

Thanks for your input!

I don't care for celebrities that make homophobic remarks, period. If it were someone i know irl and i could teach them what they said or did was wrong and see them changing then yes of course i would give them a second chance. But I have seen numerous celebrities pretending to understand a mistake only to make it again so i don't really trust them. Only if i saw a change in them that seems honest would i consider stanning them again. Also, in kpop not shying away from fanservice doesn't exactly equal to a person being LGBT friendly; it's literally part of their job and they have to do it.

I know this may sounds harsh but i just don't like wasting my time/money/emotions on someone who very possibly doesn't like who i am and who i love. I have more pressing issues to worry about than being emo over a total stranger's opinions, so i simply move on.

Totally understandable! I'd be like that too, i'd give them the benefit of the doubt to see if their attitude has changed. How about if a celebrity makes the typical men shouldn't do this comment that's common? would you stop caring about them also?

silly me didn’t do my research before posting this and it turns out eunwoo is the girl's lover (well that’s what she calls him) and the other boy is the girls brother. apparently there’s no gay storyline, apparently neither characters are gay. i thought i’d clarify in case people thought this was some breakthrough story that shows korea is becoming more accepting. i haven’t watched the show so maybe something does end up happening between the two guys, but according to people who watched it so far there’s nothing.

That sucks rlytearpls.png  If they're not gay, why did they make that scene so gay, there's literally no heterosexual explanation for this, like the romantic music, the holding hands behind her back, the flirty way the dude on the left touched his arm, the hesitation of eunwoo holding his hand, the focus on their hands, the look they gave to each other, the body language . Someone please explain to me how that's not gay, it fucking looks like eunwoo is dating a girl to hide their relationship and they try to do couple things secretly.  I'm not into the kdrama world so i thought this was that drama where a girl turns into a boy, which unfortunately would make more sense since it's queerbaiting/fanservice AND there's a het explanation for it so people can blatantly ignore the gay .

Edit: So i decided to investigate. The drama is called top management and its airing on youtube premium in 1thek channel. I checked the episode, 9 if you're curious, and the scene was someone reading a fanfic...thatsgreatplz.png  The show is about this manager (girl obv) that has the ability to see the future and she's helping a new idol group be famous and preventing them getting on accidents and things like that. At least the clip is something adorable to look at. rlytearpls.png   Maybe i'll watch it, the premise seems interesting and it tackles shit that idols go through from the comments i skimmed through.

Isn't that why it's especially important to honour bisexual history and not exchange it for a misinterpretation (which was kinda started by straight people zeroing in on the meaning of 'bi' and then bi/pan people being led by this to become unaware of their own sexualities' definitions and cultures)?

I get that pan-identifying people might feel invalidated with this resurgence of old school bi knowledge, but if I were bi I'd feel more pissed that my sexuality was being ripped away from its own history and repackaged in a new word that people imply to be the more woke version.

At risk of sounding ignorant, ive just never understood the old definition of bisexuality, how can it be defined as attracted to more than two genders when bi means two?

And also how can people be attracted specifically to non-binary and other genders other than male and female people, including trans, if people go by looks and biological characteristics when getting attracted to someone at first? Im pretty sure you dont know that someone is non binary or demi at first glance. Or does the attraction come later when you know their gender? Maybe i dont understand the attraction part because im aroace but ive always been curious about this.

I am ashamed to admit that I always wrote of Taeil/Winwin interactions as something intentionally emphasized by them (Taeil especially) due to their company's wishes in pushing their "ship" and I never thought much further than that, but looking at all of their skinshippy interactions again due to the things written here in the last couple of pages, it's really clear Ww doesn't like them, like he genuinely dislikes it and I hate that there are even people who are calling him out on that or even saying he's homophobic because he doesn't like it (only a few people, but how stupid they are, no one should be force to accept an unwanted touch and that's fucking that).

Here I felt like Jungwoo stepped in because he knows how Wv feels about it (of course, that could just be my perception because my viewpoint shifted drastically), and the way he hugged Taeil kind of weirdly/off was because he was annoyed at him too. But of course, people in the comments are all like, "Poor Taeil" or "Winwin was like, miss me with that gay shit" like that's the issue.

Damn, if i hugged someone and they pulled me away from them like that, my first reaction would not be to hug them again. Poor winwin, like you can see in his body language that he is not comfortable.

On a lighter note I wanted to bring this back since it's so nice seeing friends so comfortable with each other. I guess it could be taken as a receipt. They're BTOB's Eunkwang and Hyunsik. It starts around 4:40, 6:18-6:46 and then 7:28-8:35.

I find it so cute how they can flirt and be so comfortable around each other like that. Like it is SO intimate to put your head on someone's chest to listen to their heartbeat. Anyone have any receipts on them or others from BTOB?

Being aware and considerate of injustices doesn't make you a SJW. Can you really blame fans for getting excited about things like that, no matter how small or mediocre they are? It may look like they're grasping at straws but what else do they have to work with? K-idols rarely if ever explicitly mention or show their support for the lgbt community so I don't think it's that big of a problem for fans to feel excited and included when their fav wears a hat with a rainbow on it or recommends a movie/song with lgbt representation.

As for stray kids, barely anyone is saying they're perfect or unproblematic but the fact that they even acknowledged pride and were one of the only groups from KCON who even merely walked through it accidentally or not says a lot. Some fans who were there even talked to them and they seemed genuinely happy to be there.

Just my opinion.

And to add to this, there wouldn't be any way that they wouldn't know that they're at pride since there are two english native speakers from australia. So for them to actually explore pride is something to get excited about. They even made a vid of them going to places during pride. obviously the flags were hidden but in an ice cream shop, you could see a rainbow flag in the background. For me it shows that they're open minded.

It's not kpop idol related but I found this video adorable and wholesome.

The context of the vid is that he decided to give his guy friends, koreans and foreigners, flowers for no reason. It's adorable how they react and there's no negative no homo reaction.

The video is from World of Dave,he's an american that has lived in korea for around 7 years. He makes youtube vids about korean culture, language, living in korea, cultural differences between different countries, etc. He recently interviewed VAV and he's the chocolate dude from the astro drama.

To make this clear, I am in NO way shipping them, especially since they're minors. Plus, I tend to ship in the bromance way.  This came up in my timeline, I don't watch survival shows. From the twitter thread I saw this post from, this is from a survival show called under19 where everyone is, you guessed it, younger than 19 years old. The taller one is Bang Junhyuck, born in 2004 (14 y/o) and the small one is Lee Yechan, born in 2005 (13 y/o).

What I'm curious about is if this is normal skinship between boys or minors, since this scene was made public AND it wasn't censored. I find this so surprising and confusing when shows tend to edit, block, or censor kisses between males in fanservice situations, but in this clip it was obviously unscripted and not a fanservice (you can see the blonde dude behind the taller one glancing at the camera after the first peck).

I find it amusing that a lot of people in the replies are like "how can you think they're dating, they're obviously platonically kissing! Stop assuming their sexualities, they're minors! "You never know, maybe they're dating, maybe they're not. People can date at that age regardless of gender.

Any thoughts or comments?

A lot of people are conditioned to not see kissing (especially on the lips) as platonic but it totally isn't strange for good friends to kiss on the lips or parents and their kids (even grown kids in some cases) or general family members really

The funny thing is cuddling doesn't have the same stigma attached yet it's also a very intimate act

Oh yeah I'm totally aware of platonic kissing. With how homophobic korea is, it's just surprising that they let the kiss air AND without any type of censors or recorded from an angle where you can't see the lips touching when it usually happens even when there's accidental kissing in fanservice moments. There could be a possibility that between minors it's normal to kiss platonically, hence why it was aired as is. It's just so interesting and kind of contradictory since korea tries so hard to be like "hahaha! this is disgusting their lips touched! and being all no homo. Like you'd think that them being in a survival idol show they wouldn't show ammunition for rumors spreading out about two males dating or that someone from the show is gay. They seem to be very close too, which is adorable to see.

The tweet link repeats the previous one for some reason, but it could be that the show loves showing intimate moments between them. Again, I could be wrong since I don't watch the show and going by the tweets.

SO I recently came across the YT Channel of N.Flying's Jaehyun and Cha Hun and went down the rabbit hole that is their content (it's a trip LOL)

They're really cute and all their thumbnails and aesthetics are constantly rainbows, DO WITH THAT WHAT YOU WILL.

This is a video where they went to get couple fortune telling and first of all I love that they don't try to play it off as something overtly laughable and at 2:03 Jaehyun seems serious when he asks about them getting married HHHHHHH this whole segment is just Jaehyun's one-sided love being outed it's great

I discovered them this week too!

They also have a vid of them doing nail art. They were shy since they were at a salon, but they refreshingly didn't make any "guys don't do this" comments nor they were like "ah! why do we have to do this?". They actually loved the designs they picked.

Gunheechul celebrate Christmas together

Interesting note, from a vid from World of Dave on how America, Korea, Japan, and China celebrate christmas, they said that in Korea, Christmas is normally celebrated with your significant other. It's not a family thing like in the states, so it's either celebrating with your significant other or friends, and just going out partying and drinking.
