Keyes 2,129
Do you really think Kai and Krystal broke up exactly after one year later? Do you think when they finished their relationship called SM and they said "hey, we broke up", and immediately they reported the news to the media? They probably broke up before (rumors said they broke in February) and then SM, because mediaplay, did the statement exactly after a year. What I mean is we can't assume Kaistal weren't real just because those dates. I know we can't trust agencies, but they could be dating, who knows Back in 2012, an insider already told us that Baekhyun & Taeyeon and Kai & Krystal will be paired up by SM and their "dating" will be released to the public. First Baekhyun & Taeyeon was confirmed dating by SM in 2014, then Kai & Krystal was confirmed in 2016. This makes me believe that both couples were fake. No way a random person could guess both couples will end up together & be exposed 2-4 years before it happened. Keyes 2,129
Since we have no thread for non-idols, are there any other Korean celebrities (actors, comedians, etc) you think that are gay/bi/pan? I think the only ones I heard are Park Bo Gum (I think that video with V?) and the Celeb Bromance pair, Nam Joo Hyuk & Ji Soo (though I'm still unsure if they are just real good friends or a couple) Any other male celebrities and reasons behind your speculation? Jung Woo Sung. Especially in this video where he was being interviewed by anchor Son Suk Hee and at the end of the interview he told him he honestly didn't even wanted to make an appearance on the show but he did wanted to see him in person and then calls him handsome. And when the anchor is like "umm... I won't reply to that...", he gets all flustered. This was a 14-minute interview but he kept on leaning towards the anchor and kept smiling and laughed shyly when he mentioned that he saw one of his movies. He looked more like someone who is flirting at a bar not someone who's giving an interview. The interview: The part where he called him handsome: https://twitter.com/sukheecitizen/status/840545813701021698

Keyes 2,129
In regards to hansol. His intentions are good but I am very uncomfortable with non gay/bisexual/trans people using the word queer. It is not their slur to reclaim-. The fact that he came out as asexual and got minimal backlash compared to if he would have came out as gay says a lot and it really irritates me to see non gay people using lgbt specific language to describe this guys situation. it is not the same at all. Good for him but being asexual and being aromatic is not the same as being lgbt. Words have different meanings and connotations in different languages. That word is just a synonym for LGBT in Korean - in fact, it's probably more often used than the acronym. It's not even reclaiming it, because it was never a slur in Korean in the first place, so he can use it all he wants. 22
Keyes 2,129
Uuuh no. The n word was mainly used in America, does that mean that people in Korea can use it as an alternative way to refer to black people? Hell no. Slurs are slurs no matter where they're used. I'm happy for Hansol and all, and I don't wanna start discourse, but he's not attracted to the same gender, nor he's trans or nonbinary. Internet exists and he can -and should- educate himself about the actual meaning of the word and why he shouldn't be using it. Tons of people who are same gender attracted or trans/nb are still uncomfortable with that word, so I don't see why Hansol, an aroace boy, should be using it when referring to himself and to the lgbt community in general. It's not the same. The n word is used as a slur in Korea as well, so of course it is not okay for them to say it either. But queer isn't used that way, so yes, it is okay to use it. In my country, queer is actually a PC term used mostly in academic texts (books about queer theory) and by LGBT people as well when they educate non-LGBT people about the community. Nobody thinks of anything wrong when they hear that word. People who don't speak English don't even know it was/is used as a slur in English speaking countries. 22
Keyes 2,129
Do you think we'll ever find out about his sexuality? I know someone in here said if he was indeed gay or bi, we would find out about it soon enough but I just can't be that optimistic. I feel like as it wasn't written in his final note, it won't ever come out. I don't know if Key or someone else will out him; I don't know if there was ever a conversation with Jjong and someone else with him saying "if I die before I come out, please out me". I've already told my friends that if something happens to me and I die, I want them to out me to my family because I don't want to remain closeted in death. I just feel like there are a lot of things we don't know. It's very sad as he was one of the idols most open about his sexuality and I really thought he would be one of the first to come out. Sorry if this seems disrespectful, that's not how I intend it to be at all Unless he had a "good friend" like this, we probably won't.
Keyes 2,129
I'm sorry to go off topic, but I need a distraction. Do you guys remember the "reality" show where the members outed one of the guys? I think he was a project runway contestant. The show was basically a bunch of celebrities living together. Edit: Nevermind, I found the show. The show is called "Share house". http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.fi/2014/05/tv-show-share-house-forces-designer-kim.html (Warning, it's NB) Oh, I remember the next episode where two of the share house members went to a human sexuality center (or whatever it was called) and talked to a guy working there about him being gay. And this man was basically telling them how they should just treat him like everybody else. And the girl had a notebook in her lap and she was taking notes. And I was like OH MY GOD WHY THE HECK DO YOU NEED TO TAKE NOTES OF THIS??? IS IT SO HARD TO REMEMBER TO JUST TREAT A HUMAN BEING LIKE A HUMAN BEING WTF??? And yeah, I know they probably put that whole segment into the tv show to show the viewers that it's okay if someone is gay. But the way it was scripted... like, how it looked like they needed to get freaking counselling about having a gay roommate... it was just riddiculous. Keyes 2,129
ngl, I really need help updating the OP. I added Holland to MVs and Method to movies, but there's still plenty to add. I never really updated it since taking over as OP, so it's pretty outdated. Matchboxfilm on Vimeo posts new gay short films every few months. You could link to them in the OP. And then there's this movie too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeW-YEOdhI0
Keyes 2,129
Sorry if it was posted already, I wasn't here for a while and I have like 100 pages to read but I started watching ''Your house helper'' with WJSN's Bona and there is gay character, he's super cute and he's out at least to his family and close friends. Which episode is this from?
Keyes 2,129
any thoughts on the actor lee jaejoon?I wouldn't be surprised if he was gay. He's been in two gay movies already and actors who apear in multiple gay movies tend to be gay in my experience. Keyes 2,129
I don't think we will have idols in my country come out anytime soon, mainly because I don't think we as a nation South Korea has evolved enough to accept it culturally, also one of the biggest hurdles to it is our military, being gay in the army is a proverbial death sentence a big fucking no no, until we do away with mandatory service then maybe it wil change but that isn't happening anytime soon unless north Korea dismantles the dmz and declares reunification I wonder what will happen to Holland in the future. He's still young so I'm sure he hasn't been in the military yet but he will have to do it in the future. And he's openly gay so... He's gonna be in big trouble.
Keyes 2,129
It would be hard(er) for Dispatch to out a same-sex couple because most of the time they catch couples on dates, they can only take pictures of them hanging out, not even kissing or holding hands or anything like that. So even if they took pictures of a same-sex couple walking side by side, their company could just deny that they are dating and I'm sure many fans would believe them 'cause "there's no gays in Korea!" The only way they could out someone is if they manage to take pictures of them kissing or maybe if it's of someone who is already rumored to be gay like Jo Kwon or Yoo Ah In. Then again, in their case the public would probably just be like "duh... we already knew they're gay."
Keyes 2,129
If he hasn't done his enlistment yet when the time comes I suspect he's going to be the proud gay man that he is. It's not as if he can deny it, right? And why should he? Their treatment of him is down to them (let's hope they are respectful of him) but hopefully he will find friendship among his fellow ranks. There will be lots of young men feeling lost and alone entering service, whatever their orientation. Few probably truly want to be there. He won't be the only 'gay in the village', either. Because it is illegal to serve openly as a gay man in the Korean military. Gay military members are categorized as having a personality disorder and they will either be put in a mental hospital or get dishonorably discharged. And if they are caught having gay sex while they are enlisted, they will even be put into prison, like that couple did 2017. Keyes 2,129
But how can he go back on it when all they have to do is check his...life. As a now open gay man. How can he stand there and go, well actually it was all a lie. Yeah that's why he I said he's going to be in trouble if he hasn't been in the military yet. He can't just waltz in and be like "hey, I'm gay, deal with it" without any consequences but he also can't lie because he's out to everyone on the Internet already.
Keyes 2,129
Anyone watching Discipline on youtube? It's a Korean web series and one of the characters is gay. I love the series because it's more realistic than things you see on Korean tv. People been saying it is a bit like Skins on Skam. Keyes 2,129
Oh yeah I’m watching it. It’s really good so far. My bisexual ass has a crush on the character eb and that dancer dude. Yeah the whole cast is hot. lol I'm pretty sure EB is not straight either. She totally is not into that dude (not romantically or even sexually I think) and the way how she said Jihan was cool for coming out made me think she may have some secrets about her sexuality as well. At first I thought she was lesbian and has a crush on the other girl. Or maybe she's aromantic and asexual and she's only having sex to try to prove herself that's she's not.
