Though if I'm being honest I think it might be because NCT have more international fans than Korean fans, so SM are (understandably) wary of doing a gay MV.

 

And interestingly, the teaser for Kokobop didn't show the moments between Xiumin and Sehun, we only saw them in the actual MV.

to be fair neither MVs had anything heterosexual about them whatsoever and if anything BDS was vaguely homoerotic, so it's not like they're tricking us and doing a 180, they're just keeping the gay stuff for the teasers aka for fans only.

idk why you keep pretending that situation was what it wasn't to fit your narrative. Correction: someone got called out for making a gigantic post coming after multiple people for doing the exact same thing he's known for doing and expected them not to stand up for themselves? Then instead of either apologizing to said multiple people or even just saying nvm let's move past this, he then dragged it out for like 3 pages and dramatically concluded everyone hates him and left.

 

Just as an example: BTS wasn't just 80% of this thread once, it was 90% and even then not as many people complained because people used to be more chill and less whiny back then - I would know - I was here. The reason for some "hostility" for certain shippy/"pointless" bts posts recently is because of multiple notorious bts shippers throughout the years as well as the fact they've been discussed to death. NCT is still fresh, once upon a time that was BTS, before them it was EXO etc. It's not any different this time, it's nothing but hypocritical to suddenly switch up the rules because it's not your bias group.

Maybe I seemed too confident with what I said, but it's because I was talking from my own experience and what I've observed from other people. Most of you probably have different experiences. I know that video wasn't the best, but JK actions just reminded me a lot of a guy that I knew irl and of my own behaviour around people (I'm pan and NB but someone just assumed I'm a shipper straight girl because of the last post) that I find attractive, so it could be some sort of projection too. I don't even stan JK (or anyone from BTS, I only follow the group) so I tried to not be biased.

I was thinking of this today and I'm bored so why not. Do y'all think that certain gay members in your fave group(s) are out to all of their fellow members, just a few, or none at all?

 

I constantly go back and forth on Sehun, I feel like he's definitely out to Suho and I think he's probably out to Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Kyungsoo but idk about the other members. With Suho I think he's definitely out to Sehun but I have a feeling he's not out to the others, especially as Chanyeol joked about him being gay on that one show (which was cut out of the actual show...mess), and I feel like it would be kinda uncharacteristic of Chanyeol to joke about Suho being gay if he knew he actually was. I haven't thought about the other members being out.

 

As for Seventeen and NCT I'll just quickly say that I don't believe any member is out to the entire group, especially NCT. And BTS, idk all 7 of them are probably out to each other lol

iirc this was in 2013 though, I think on top of Chanyeol being kinda more immature back then Suho also wasn't out possibly to anyone - that was probably around the time he started dating Dongwhan right? It's possible that's when and how Chanyeol found out. Now Chanyeol follows both Chefsuke and Donghwan on ig and seems to be in the know in general and chill, especially after all that third wheeling with Sehun and Chefsuke lol.

 

I could see it with large groups, especially NCT as they are split up in multiple dorms and seem to pretty regularly rotate roommates, so I don't think they spend that much time all together leading some to be closer than others. Going back to that TaeTen VLive where Ten went on that rant about being labelled "weird" by the other members, the way Taeyong asked who else calls him weird made it seem like he was unaware that others thought Ten was "weird" in the way that he had referred to Ten's tastes as "weird" (if any of that makes sense). So I believe if Ten is out, it's to Johnny and Taeyong, maybe Jungwoo and Lucas, but not the others, just based on their dynamics. I think it is the same in The Boyz where I think Kevin and Jacob would be out to each other and possibly to Eric too because being brought up in major progressive American/Canadian cities, there are more cultural similarities and a resulting closeness that I don't feel is the same with the Korean members.

I'd add Mark and Jaehyun to that list, Jaehyun because of that time they were humping hugging on the bed they shared and Mark because of that hilarious Vlive when Ten looked him dead in the eye and asked him if he liked sausages just a few minutes after making a dick joke with Johnny next to him trying desperately not to laugh. If Ten does that on cam imagine all the gay dick jokes Mark has endured off cam lmao.

Them thinking that Jeno is the one that has a crush on Jaemin instead of the other way around actually makes sense to me as a Nomin stan LOL. It seems like a lot of the times Jeno is the one that's usually caught staring at Jaemin first or initiating actions first but then gets flustered when Jaemin starts reciprocating and he starts having gay panic lmao (like in that 00 Line Vlive where he caressed Jaemin's neck first and was staring at him but then quickly looked away the minute Jaemin started flirting with him back).

 

I think sometimes these "gay panic" moments might say a lot more than outwardly doing gay acts like fake-kissing or kissing (which Jaemin is prone of doing towards Jeno) since tbh those are really easy acts to do for fan service, whereas I feel like it's harder to fake gay panic (which Jeno seems to do frequently around Jaemin)... so I can see why Jeno might ping Koreans more than Jaemin since they might be able to better distinguish what's fan service and what's not?? idk lol

Something I noticed: Jaemin's mannerisms before this comeback did really really ping, but since this cb he actually comes across (and I don't like this word lol but it might explain kfans' viewpoint) as pretty "masc" (by korean standards).
