the best answer to this question

i time-stamped it already but basicallly the question was if you were a girl, which member would you date? and woosung said he doesn't have to be a girl to date them

does anyone know if jackson has hooked up with male fans

i wasn't sure whether to mention this or not but since we are on the topic of him.. i was one of the people at the house party. i still don't know. i think he seems very interested in finding a partner though. perhaps that desire could go beyond gender

by interest in finding a partner, do you mean he was like flirty with guests at the party or is it just like in general such as what he's said in interviews or something? because that lack of a boundary between an artist and fan (such as through a party that isn't like some official meet and greet) rubs me the wrong way a lil. he doesn't seem too good lately so i hope he looks after himself.

i know everyone thinks he was flirting with the guests there but he wasn’t. by interest, i mean there was a chinese couple who was there and he kept asking questions about their relationship, who confessed first etc. his eyes were lighting up throughout the whole conversation so i think he genuinely craves a relationship

also yeah he has mentioned it before in the podcast about leaving the light on bc no one is there etc. but to me this made what he said there even more evident

But anyway, to make it on topic, Jackson clearly likes women, so being gay is out of the question, and I always felt like while it's possible that he's bi, there's just something so straight about him. Like to me he has this vibe of a straight guy who is confident in his sexuality and supportive of gay rights. All the gay antics that he pulled while in kpop (I don't really know too well what he's been up to since then) seemed very in line with some of the humor that I've seen from chill straight men (the kind who are just random funny dudes who support LGBT rights, but are not activists by any means or interested in politics).

i agree. i definitely don’t think he’s gay. i think the possibility of bisexuality is low but i don’t want to say zero cause idk but do think mostly more straight than not

one of the girls told him she’s gay and his response was just oh you are? and that was it. i don’t really know what to make of that other than maybe he’s surprised how ppl over here are more open with bringing up their sexuality

other than that, despite being in an off-camera ‘relaxed’ environment for several hours, it still doesn’t feel like he would completely let loose you know

cause he’s still with fans at the end of the day and surrounded by his own team and security guard so it still feels like even without explicitly being told, even if i had directly asked a lot of questions, or like tried to get ‘tea’. would he even be able to answer honestly?

for me it still felt like a wall between him. i have no problem to treat famous people as normal people but at the same time i feel like i can’t speak to them freely like i would with someone i’ve never met before because i’m thinking about them and if they are still in ‘idol’ mode. like i’m thinking wouldn’t they be cautious? (eg. rn can’t even trust a monk with his business..) one thing the manager did say is that his fans are surprisingly respectful and they’ve never had any big problems other than 1 person they were monitoring

i don’t think he is pulling kris wu’s, at least not with that many people there. people may think he’s doing that at his parties but i think if he planned to date/hook up with anyone, then it would be someone from his team instead of a fan. the women on his team are really pretty.

tbh jackson kind of reminds me of jay park. coincidentally, they both were under and left jyp and now they are both in charge of their own selves. then when controversy arise, it’s like they don’t care too much about PR for themselves. i guess since they still have fans regardless

luckily, i’d like to say i’m a level-headed consumer of kpop. i wouldn’t blindly defend anyone. but i definitely think the whole meet up is worse for other fans who can’t distinguish things. one of the girls it’s kind of obvious that the whole thing made her feel closer to him. it probably doesn’t help another girl who was there went to paris to greet him at the fashion show and he reacted to her presence like seeing a friend

because they started defending everything that started blowing up afterwards in a way where it’s like you do know just bc he’s ‘nice’ at the house doesn’t mean he can’t have questionable beliefs and morals

it’s just unfortunate that controversies happened the day after because at the time of the concert, when he was ranting, i didn’t really process what he was saying. all i could hear was f bombs left and right and i’m just thinking how scary he looked saying that with the contacts in

someone wrote the speech down and apparently it was 7 minutes. i have no idea about the politics or what he really meant by his speech

so all i know is i’m very uneducated about everything but i’m not gonna just assume his words were meant to be like oh he’s talking about china as a whole or whatever you know and i wouldn’t use being in his vicinity for several hours as a indication of him never being capable of anything that comes up

thoughts?

btw whoever added the thinking reaction, this is a new group i just discovered rn and their bio on tiktok says they are queer kpop idols and their instagram/twitter says

퀴어아이돌 QI.X(큐아이엑스)의 공식 인스타그램입니다. This is the official instagram/twitter of queer idol x

the kprofiles page gives more information on them. i just say thoughts because i don't have a specific question to ask the thread here other than their thoughts on this group

kinda off topic but i just saw this

now why are people saying my man taecyeon plss

it’s hilarious how all jyp group fans (not all as in everyone but each group under their’s fans) are already defending them with the they were touring so they can’t lol

i do remember watching wild bunny when 2pm went to a club but they got recognised and left

but kpop marketing is so strong that you got people not believing this could happen but honestly.. kpop men are still men.. so it’s not that far fetched imo

Spoiler

my thing is, would a foreign member of got7 or 2pm call someone exotic? i’m not sure. i can’t imagine it being anyone from day6 either. if this is true and i actually had to guess, i’d guess jayb ngl 🏃‍♀️ apparently this was dec 2019 so ppl are saying 2pm were enlisted but nickhun wasn’t but for some reason i wonder if nickhun of all people wouldn’t be recognised if someone could tell who he was from the supposed video

and since it was “older but still relevant group” ppl are saying 2pm but i really feel like it’d be got7 more than them unless they were clubbing on their vacation days in the military

also don’t take my guesses too seriously i have no idea

Why is this in the GAY male idol thread? Like why should i care that X male idol slept with a girl? At first i though that it was about the guy in the video so i am dissapointed now.:(

this is why i said it was off topic but also i thought it was a funny because of the story and how the girl reads it, idk. there's not much else going on here in the thread. a little unrelated chuckle is all i intended, nothing serious

i’ve only realised now this is his actual twitter account cause i saw the tiktok first i thought the screenshot was from a fan account

so this means he definitely saw it

also turns out he calls himself the fridge because armys were calling him fridge shaped as an insult because they’re fighting with hottest over who is the real captain korea

this all happened around the same time as the club story going viral

anything abt Jiwoong from boys planet? haven't been keeping up lately

it doesn’t always seem like a big deal to acknowledge where you started but a lot of actors who made their start in BL completely disregard their history and stomp on the community as soon as they get popular and work in het shows

16 hours ago, Dont mind me said:

Everytime I think they can't be weirder,  some army's find new ways for me to cringe. How stupid or delusional one has to be to name call one of the hottest guys in kpop history

I seriously don't get them and it took me 2 min to comprehend what I just read

no because his qrts were filled with comparisons of jin’s spotify listeners and taecyeon’s own spotify profile (which is not an accurate popularity metric) and trying to say he’s not famous

then when he reacted to the tweet by joining by referring to himself as the insult they used, they went on to say “he’s 34” as an insult ignoring that jin is 30.. 🧍‍♀️

then the person calling him fridge shaped

clearly some armys were grasping at straws for insults because none of them were proper drags

7 hours ago, momoring said:

As cringe as Jin solo stans are, it's the other fandoms who started the argument this time. They quoted AKP's article and said there can be only one Captain Korea and it can't be Jin and Taec but Taec only. Then someone with a newly created account called Taec a fridge.

i still remember the tweet “fridge shaped taecyeon could only wish to have jin’s proportions be ffr”

hilarious.

whether or not hottest started it by saying only taec can be captain korea, the way some armys reacted by with what i said above was much more silly

there are definitely 100% bl actors who are in it for the bag and are so shameless to even directly tell the audience that they’re here for the money and attention they get

plus it’s one thing to clarify that you’re not gay like yeah sure people who keep asking, it can get annoying, but some of them take it too far

sometimes you can really tell who was forced into the role because they act like they’d rather jump into fire than participate in a kiss scene

4 hours ago, nightgloom said:

I know South Korea is such a homophobic country, but why are BLs so popular there and ppl are kinda open about it? Don't BL actors get harassed or something? Because to me being a BL actors means that you are either gay or just support the community in general

because they don’t see BL as gay people. LGBTQ+ are real people, but BL is acting and so they can enjoy the fictional aspect

even in kpop, there’s the fanservice amongst members and shipping, but they wouldn’t want the idols to actually be dating each other frfr

i heard something about girls finding bl easier to watch because they don’t project themselves onto a female character but because i’m not like that, i wouldn’t know more about it

bl actors do get harassed as well but it’s not seen to be real and it definitely doesn’t mean you support the community

sometimes you can feel like someone supports based on how they themselves view their past work. if they seem ashamed or proud

that’s why lee je hoon stands out to me. he still mentions the bl he was in over 10 years ago. this guy is known for other popular works and can easily never bring it up again, but he chooses to talk about it fondly

so you can sometimes feel the difference amongst actors

off topic but it is crazy how some of his fandom turned against him. i thought he said he was bi anyways but the qrts are mad at him for fanservice since he said its the consumers who can’t tell the difference between reality and a fantasy but i feel like he’s not to blame for the industry practices

if something else is the case then i can be enlightened but the whole thai bl industry is built on selling two people as a couple so it’s a bit weird to blame only mew for it?

right, i thought that’s what people were mad about, but then i couldn’t believe that could be true that people are genuinely upset that mewgulf.. wasn’t real..

because i also thought it was universal knowledge that he is bisexual so people saying his fanservice is queerbaiting .. the dots weren’t connecting

unless these people weren’t aware of it? because it was said a while before he got famous

so it’s weird that people are using this as a “now remember that bl cp’s aren’t real” like you really needed this to know that cp pairings aren’t real?..

it seems like so many people genuinely believed mewgulf was real so now that mew himself said it wasn’t, people are blaming him for things that are in the nature of the thai bl industry like fanservice

probably because they feel betrayed that their ship isn’t real. it’s weirdly adjacent to kpop but instead of feeling some type of relationship with the idol, you’re feeling it through the relationship of another two other people

I have absolutely no interest in this whole mess around that Thai BL actor (honestly I don't even understand what girls find enjoyable about this though it's besides the point) but I think it's a little hypocritical to put the entire blame on the fans.

Are the fans ridiculous for getting angry and having meltdowns because two BL actors aren't dating ? Yes. Are the actors completely innocent ? No imo.

It's a fact that fanservice, especially in the BL industry, goes way too far. Fans should have the maturity to take a step back and realize the theatrics but let's be honest, many of these actors (and idols) WANT their fans to be emotionally invested in them and believe in what they're selling them to make them rich and successful. So they can't be all like "welp that was all an act sorry if you idiots fell for it but thanks for the money and attention". I'm not saying they deserve backlash for doing what is essentially their job but it's time we start to acknowledge that industries like BL and Kpop deliberately create such delusional fans and they don't appear out of nowhere.

This is why I'll never support or show appreciation for homoerotic fanservice in Kpop. It's the root of many toxic behaviors and affects badly the fandoms as much as the idols themselves.

i feel like the same way you can’t blame all the fans, the people participating in fanservice are also not as bad as the companies who are the masterminds behind everything cause people will hate on the actor but sometimes these things are in their contracts

pavel used to go on bigo live everyday and i thought it was to meet fans but afterwards he said he was contractually obligated to do them

On 2/17/2023 at 6:16 PM, Kpop_fan178 said:

They definitely shouldn't call him a queerbaiter since he was out as bi/pan since long ago, since his scandal with Art. In case y'all don't know:

Also, do we know the gender of his current partner? I've seen something about the partner being this male actor, Tul Pakorn.

https://www.idntimes.com/hype/entertainment/aulia-supintou-1/persahabatan-tul-pakorn-dan-mew-suppasit

mew and tul did post a lot together on instagram and celebrated their birthdays with underwear pics of each other. it did seem couple-y but another thing with these ships is that they extend past a show airing

and because they have a bromance but always share their love for lgbtq+ i thought they were just very outspoken allies but maybe tul is actually lgbtq+ and dating mew

5 hours ago, K-Poppie said:

No offense, but why are we talking about Thai celebrities on a K-pop forum website? 💀 Let’s go back to talking about Korean celebrities please. ✌️

be the change you want to see then

it’s still gay at the end of the day and there’s not a lot of places to have these talks. it’s also interesting to see the perspective of those from here than elsewhere. it leads to discussion as well since we are going over various topics like the ethics of cp’s, calling out fans and it can be easily linked to kpop idols and their fanservice

i find people’s opinions on mew’s situation a lot more interesting than when nobody is saying anything on the thread

like right now we only really have boys planet to talk about so.. 🤷‍♀️

@StraightforDoyeon so true and their fandom has been crazy for 2-3 years now. they were bound to get tired of the harassment

something about the way people are saying mew collected his money first and then telling people off.. it kind of feels like the same as kpop fans when they act like idols owe them everything because they spent money on them (like because we made you rich, you should act as i want)

i did see people moving onto the kinnporsche cast but then biblebuild didn’t get that much time to expand as build already got into two scandals. i think he left now

i can’t imagine if offgun or nunew ever said anything like that

actually, if you are new to bl, and tharntype did air around thai bls becoming more popular, i can see why people believe it

joongnine was convincing to me but i still never financially invested in them or be extreme about it. i found them cute together and that was it. then afterwards i briefly heard that joong was actually homophobic and idk about nine but he’s in a chinese idol group now. his bl following probably helped his ranking for that

i also think it can be a bit iffy to call it all queerbaiting because there are, albeit few, some thai bl actors who have said they are lgbtq+ but still participate in fanservice and so the logic behind the baiting becomes lost

if you want it to embed, open it up on a desktop, then enter the tiktok link into a browser, then re-paste it here. when you are re-pasting it should say the username of the tiktok user in the link. then it will show up

you don't actually have to use desktop, its just what i usually do. as long as you have the username in the link, it will embed e.g. in this case your link should say tiktok.com/@hyucksicle/video/a bunch of numbers

Spoiler

he sounds so mad about it and it could be because people who keep asking are annoying him but i kinda feel like it’s also because he’s low-key homophobic

like he did say two men together is weird

despite fans saying he meant like for himself or not, i still think associating BL with the adjective weird .. i guess i can’t be surprised if some male idols are homophobic

at least we have jiwoong and jaechan reminding people that it’s not as weird as people think
