i guess my biggest thing with taeyong is that he's the perfect SM idol. he is always dripping with media & character training, it seeps out of his pores. he's very good at his job, which includes fanservice. so when most of the gayvidence for him is ship moments with other members i just have a hard time believing it means anything about his irl sexuality. 

I’m not saying he’s secretly in love with Jungwoo. Edit: which Taeyong originally made for himself. Haechan saw the finished product and thought it looked cool, so Taeyong gifted it to him. Again, it’s not about a ship here, he could’ve gifted the bag to the Queen for all I care…it’s what on the bag which I’m talking about. 

Also his gay (club) photoshoot, which I’m sure you know of/seen?… he could have done all that just for a “concept”. Knowing how idols culturally appropriate for a “concept” it could be just that…but the photoshoot is still something to keep in mind. Him doing all that but SM still editing-out the tiny “gay” on the wall behind him full of graffiti…many questions. 

And finally the comment he wrote in a class yearbook: “Everyone will succeed in life except (person) because he is gay”. 
Taeyong is like the biggest sweetheart ever, I can’t imagine him writing something like that if it didn’t have a personal aspect to it…

Edit: Internalised homophobia is a real possibility when you look at him/his receipts and what he wrote, as a whole. It doesn’t even have to be sexuality, he could have been insecure about his own femininity (secretly wearing sister’s clothes, liking pink etc), which is still internalised homophobia. Look I don’t really follow Somi…

but I suppose there are many more women (not necessarily idols) who seem to fit Taeyong’s supposed ideal type more than her. 
…street woman fighter type, female hip-hop dancers, female producers…also Somi is 6 years younger than Taeyong, I feel Taeyong would like older/noona. 

Maybe that’s why he said he wasn’t interested in the opposite sex/dating in school because the girls were not old enough for him lol

I too think it’s a reference to Rick from Rick and Morty…I remember him excitedly buying a Pickle Rick plushie when NCT127 went to a store in America. 

So I looked up whether it’s a reference to something in the show and this is what I found…

It’s the “I wanna lick Rick”, which I’ve recently discovered seems to be from Rick’s catchphrase “Lick my balls”.

I just would like to know Taeyong’s reasoning for painting that on the bag…of all the Rick and Morty quotes/memes he could have used, including the og quote…”lick my balls” which is a str8 dudebro thing to say to other guys. 

I’m female, and I’ve watched Rick and Morty (a while ago)…it’s a quirky show, and Taeyong is a quirky guy. 

Is Rick and Morty too straight for a queer guy to watch?

Taeyong has revealed that he was bullied so much in 9th grade that on advice from his homeroom teacher, his parents took him out of school for a month and sent him to live with his grandmother. Taeyong said he was scared to look at his phone during those days. 

 

He’s mentioned how he used to be embarrassed about saying his favourite colour is pink so he would just say his favourite colour is the colour of the sky (the sky turns pink during sunset). 
 

Taeyong more recently: “If I went to college, I probably would’ve majored in fashion. I liked to dress differently since I was young so I used to secretly try on my sister’s clothes.”

TY: “To be honest, I don’t have much interest in the opposite sex (dating) 

Reporter: “Eh~~” (lol) 

TY: “I was at an all-boys high school before transferring to school of performing arts. At that time too, I had no interest in the opposite sex, and oddly I found that being around guys was more comfortable? Cause I could just mess around with them”. 

This guy went through his horny teenage years, went to SOPA with many artistic good-looking girls, not being interested in girls, and still not being interested in them at the time of this interview?

His use of the word “oddly” stands out to me. As if even he is trying to understand why. Not interested in girls but oddly boys.

Him saying he’s more comfortable around boys (I think really it’s more affinity to/interest in boys) is funny because he’s shown multiple times of being flustered by guys.

E.g. His gay panic when Jungwoo said he wanted him for his birthday. Taeyong turning red in the face, the other members literally saying Taeyong really likes these things (!) that he’s a romantic and Jaehyun saying he’s made Taeyong crumble many times (!?). 

The way the members were “ganging-up” on him in a “knowing way”. Doyoung made Jungwoo say that to Taeyong because he knew it would affect Taeyong.

Why would a straight guy "do all this" what exactly is taeyong doing besides his job of posing for concept pictures, which is something that the company would be overseeing and seeing as it is the superM album, I'm guessing the location and the concept was not chosen by taeyong but by management.  Again I don't have strong opinions on taeyong either way, he doesn't ping me, but I'm not like omg he is straight without a doubt but the things you say are just....like what the hell are you even talking about?

Not many members have the energy required for a photoshoot at a gay bar. There's a reason why SM didn't give the “abstruse sexiness” to any random member like Mark or Lucas. 

Ok say he’s straight and just doing a “concept” (abstruse sexiness/did limp-wrist)…then isn’t it is like, for e.g people not of a culture acting like people of that culture for a “concept”??
