Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

It's not a fact that gender roles and sexual orientation are two different things? It's not a fact that Sehun could very well take on the feminine ROLE of being delicate and soft without it having anything to do with his sexual orientation?

Yes, it is a fact that he might just be a feminine straight guy. It is not a fact that he is a feminine straight guy, though, but you still act like it is. You came in here calling us illogical because we think he might be gay and you asked for proof. But you haven't shown us any proof of him being straight in exchange. It's okay if you think he's straight, but don't say it like it is a fact, because it isn't. Your opinion is not any more valid than everyone else's here.

I didn't necessarily come here to prove that Sehun is straight. I came here to challenge why people think he is gay. I did that quite well, at least with Hanryu. His reason (and I suppose other people's reason) for thinking Sehun likes men is because of his feminine and delicate deportment. In actuality, Sehun taking on the supposed gender role of a female does not say anything about his sexual orientation. Just like a girl being aggressive, loud and rough (i.e. taking on the male gender role), does not mean she is a lesbian. So again, my point wasn't to prove that he's straight without a doubt, but to show that a big part of why people think he's homosexual is unreasonable and stereotypical.

We base our opinion on stereotypes most of the time, yes, that is definitely true. However, that doesn't make it unreasonable. Sometimes those stereotypes are wrong but other times they prove to be right. Stereotypes wouldn't exist if there was absolutely no truth to them.

You said you think Tao is gay. I'm sure you base that opinion on stereotypes as well because none of us have any proof of him being gay either. So how is it logical to judge one person based on stereotypes but not another?

The first time you make a mistake its an accident, the second time you make the same mistake its on purpose, and the third time you make that same mistake its no longer a mistake, its a habit.

There was a guy on Hello Counselor who supposedly looks like a woman, and he said that when he was on a date with his girlfriend and they touched each other, people thought that they're lesbians.

Yet another proof that skinship and acting like a couple between friends of the same gender is not as common in Korea as k-pop makes us believe!

Here's the vid:

By the way, my friend said that Gunhee, Heechul's hair stylist, is actually Heechul's cousin?? (I don't believe that for one second, I think they're dating but that's what she said.)

Why does your friend think they are cousins? As far as I know, they met in high school. I'm sure if they were cousins, they would have known about each other before high school.

Where does this stereotype of European guys touching each other even come from? I know it's not true for the country I live in. Guys usually don't touch each other at all, except for handshakes.

He is 24?  I've thought he was at least 30.

Yeah I was so surprised as well!

I was curious about him so I looked him up, and it seems like he has his mobile phone number displayed on this twitter. Or at least I think that's his number...

I really don't think it's a good idea to have it public, especially after his coming out. Some idiots might start harrassing him on the phone. :/

I'm reading a book about Korea and there was a whole chapter about the attitude towards homosexuality in the country.

It's only four pages long so I decided to share it with you all, even though I might get banned for posting this.

The book was published two years ago so it's relatively new. The author talks about Hong Seok-cheon as well in this chapter.

Can I ask what pings people about Taemin? I haven't been able to watch WGM because I can't find an eng sub (i know I'm probably not looking hard enough, but I'm confused by episode numbers and such).

Anyhow, he's never really made me think he was anything other than straight. Like, he's ridiculously pretty and occassionally I've mistaken him for a girl, but other than that, nothing's really stood out to me. So I was just wondering.

I can't answer your question because Taemin seems straight to me as well, but you can find all Taemin/Naeun WGM episodes on http://www.kshownow.net

with English subtitles if you want to watch them.

yeah but still doesnt that only appears on taohun stuff?

I'm pretty sure his fans message him on weibo all the time demaning him to explain his every move. That's what they do to other idols as well.

I wonder what it would be like without fanservice would it be much easier to tell their sexual orientation.

I don't think so. If there were no fanservice, I think the gay idol couples would be more hesitant to show affection for each other in the public because then it would be even more obvious why they are doing it.
