I would like to talk about it too, but it's a very touchy subject... People are REALLY sensitive about this topic, mainly because some stupid fans did (still do?) stupid things. "Yunjae shippers" are not really well accepted outside of the "Yunjae fandom".

I thought about it for a long time, watched videos, asked opinions on the dedicated thread, and I THINK that there WAS something. But there was fanservice too, so it's difficult to differentiate both. But they seemed real, that's sure, and if they were not, then SM did an amazing thing, and Jaejoong and Yunho are amazing actors.

 

 

I agree with others on here.   It is 'obvious' to my gay eye, that they were a couple and dated off the stage.  There are many shippers who are intense and still yell Yunjae and Jaejoong to Yuhno at his concerts and put up Yunjae pics,  which is wrong.   One clip from China shows Yunho almost break to tears,  the shippers don't care if they hurt Yuhno.  After the whole DBSK breakup,  there is no way they could see each other anymore,  that can't hide like that.  With the whole lawsuit and 7 months of getting ready to disband, I'm sure there was a lot of tension in the group and they broke up then.  I'll attach a vid of some of my favorite Yunjae moments.

Oh, somehow I'm not surprised... I heard the fandom in general can be very intense and I'm aware they are considered the k-pop ship so I can imagine it would be a touchy subject to some people. What intrigued me the most about them was how SM blatantly promoted them as a pairing (even making them have their own mini-drama) despite how it would create rumors or how risky it would be... I swear I just don't understand anything about this company and how it works. 

 

 

I think SM tried early on to keep Jae from saying things that were too risqué.  There are numerous stories of things he said that were edited out , etc.   After a while I'm sure it was easier to promote them ala Gunhee and Heechul, rather than deny things.  There were always reports of them out together and going on tour they shared a room together, not with the others.  Plus they were regulars, alone, at HSC's restaurant.  Jae could not hide his affinity for Yuhno and it showed, so SM trying to deny things wouldn't have worked.

Most likely. I don't know how Yunjae fans can still think they are somehow secretly dating. Jaejoong can barely keep his mouth shut about anything, I highly doubt he would be completely silent about that relationship (since he never was to begin with). But I guess some YJ fans do read into things too much sometimes so. Sadly, I don't think they are even friends anymore, let alone together. It's tragic really. 

 

 

If it wasn't for Jaejoong, I would probably only think it was fanservice too. Jae's so easy to read and is completely horrible at hiding his emotions, it's not a surprise as to why SM told him to "just stand there, look pretty and shut up". Look how long that lasted   He definitely didn't mind showing that he liked Yunho, even if there wasn't anything between them. And apparently Yunho sang back to him on the show too, but it was cut out too ://

 

He does something like that again that was edited out of another show. Only that time, he pretty much admitted he had kissed a guy recently and hadn't kissed a woman in like 3 years   awkward turtle~

 

Watching Yoochun and Changmin's facial expressions and back-and-forth glances at Yunho and Jaejoong are the most telling. also Yunho looked like he was about to shit a brick

 

The show where he admitted kissing a guy recently,  yes, thats one I was talking about.  It was cut out of the broadcast but people in the audience talked about it.   He had diarrhea of the mouth then.  

The video was telling, you can see Jae was visibly upset, then there was a cut in tape.  I wonder what happened?   Mickey and Max could see Jae was upset.  I think its safe to say after this interview, Yuhno had a lot of explaining to do either that or Jae cried

Indeed. I imagine the entertainment industry has quite a bit of power over the media. It wouldn't surprise me if companies like SM pay off the media to hide certain rumors just as they are quick to feed the media with rumors that they are willing to let go of for some attention. It's a normal give-and-take relationship I imagine. However, there is a problem with that too, because it gives the media (and those fans who have some inside info) some power over the company at times. Especially if they can get a hold of something juicy. So sometimes there are things that do get out that the company wasn't planning on and have to backtrack. But yeah, I can only imagine what is kept hidden inside companies like SM. 

 

Tbh, the kpop industry tries to be too "squeaky clean" but there's no way it can be. I agree, it's probably not too far off from Hollywood, just most people aren't willing to admit that.

 

 

 

It could be. Something like fanservice could definitely affect a relationship, whether it's real or not. It must be hard to be close when everyone around you suspects that you are dating one of your bandmates. It can be a major strain on the friend aspect of the relationship , so I can only imagine the strain on the male couples that might actually be real. The industry doesn't care about that though. If one relationship is destroyed, then just start up another one. Can't worry too much about the feelings of your idols can't we? It's how the industry works.

 

 

 

Yeah I think that was Heroine 6. That part was shown briefly on the Chinese broadcast I believe. And yeah, he definitely didn't know how to zip his mouth. Even now he still has that problem. Brutal honesty is what I love about people like Jaejoong, Heechul, and Key, but with Jae especially, he needs to buy a filter.  

 

You can tell his feelings were hurt but I'm sure he just pouted and sulked while Yunho smothered him with attention until he forgave him. I imagine their relationship, even as friends, went more like:  Jae constantly forgiving Yunho for ignoring him and Yunho constantly forgiving Jae for blurting out his every desire to anyone who'll listen.

I ship but I'm a sane fan I can tell the difference most times between real and fake interactions.

I never take my shipping outside of kpop or never post anything related to shipping in this thread unless I think it could be real.

I know most fangirls when they say they're dating they mean it in a joking way.

It's annoying I hear it all the time on ship video's.

I think I-fans aren't as crazy about shipping like K-fans.

I don't know what they do but it must be really bad if it ruins a relationship.

I couldn't agree more.

Fans need to learn how to respect their idols. Of course we want them to see each other, and not only Yunho and Jaejoong, but the whole group as five, because it would be the perfect happy ending. But let's be realistic for a moment. This is not going to happen now, and the chances that it happens later are really thin (and I do hope I'm wrong here).

I totally agree with you about Junsu being protective of Jaejoong, and i'm happy that you mentioned it, I thought I was quite alone in this. 

 

 

It seems like Jaejoong is often comforted by Junsu whenever he is sad. I remember this (creepy) sasaeng video where Junsu is comforting a (crying?) Jaejoong. It was when he had issues with his birth family. And I'm almost sure that Junsu was the one who hugged him when he was crying at an after party for their last concert of the first tour as JYJ (they talked about it in SBS's Good morning, I think? I need to check my sources). 

And this is surprising, because Jaejoong and Junsu didn't look like the closest in DB5K. And Jaechun is the ultimate friendship. I find it beautiful actually, the fact that they can be close in different ways.

 

 

There is something that bothers me with the "Yunjae" couple. 

 

 

I believe they were together before. I also believe they are not together anymore, and I'm pretty sure they don't even see each other.

The thing is that I wonder if they are over it. Don't get me wrong, I still think (and hope!) that they have had other relationships since the "breakup"; but Jaejoong's songs must have an origin somewhere, and the lyrics are quite telling. This is the same thing for the songs he covers. 

Of course, it could be another kind of fanservice, but I trust him to put personal experiences into songs. 

Maybe he's talking about someone else, maybe he's talking about the past. We can't know, of course.

But I wonder...          (we could talk about "A boat tied to a pier" too, but this is only one song, and it could be about someone else too, or just something invented).

 

 

I don't get people who "prove" that Yunjae still exists with the clothes they wear, though. There were these photos where they are both wearing flip-flops a few days ago. And all I could think about was "Yoochun wears them ALL the time". OMG they are dating Yoochun!

I agree with you for "Jaesu" and "Jaechun". I actually think except Changmin, they always had a lot of skinship between members. 

I don't see Jaechun being "real" though, even if I really, really, really love them. This is the problem with DB5K, they are all so shippable...   

 

And YES for Changmin protecting Yunho. It's quite obvious now, but I find it very cute. I have a hard time deciphering Changmin sometimes. I love to watch his endless admiration for Yunho (and Jaejoong before). I even wonder sometimes if he didn't have a tiny little crush on Jae at some point... But I think this is probably just me (and I still think he's mostly straight).

 

Jaejoong's songs are not innocent... I honestly can't believe he didn't realise the sentence "Baby you know I can't forget" would make fans squeal. I know his English skills are not the best, but still... (the T.E.X.U. in his last album made me jump when I first heard it too, but I will accept it as a coincidence.)

 

 

 

I thought Yunho was over it quicker than Jaejoong, but I'm not so sure anymore. He's hard to read. He was hurt a lot by the split. They all were. But Yunho is not one to cry easily, he keeps his role as a leader as much as he can. I hope he has some people with whom he can share these feelings. I don't know if Changmin is available for that.

 

I hope he used this album as an outlet for his emotions too. He cried so much during this tour... It was painful to watch.

I think all three learned when they were 5 to protect Yunjae's relationship.  It was caught many times on cam people walking in front of them hugging backstage or when they didn't know they were on cam.  They are all nice human beings,  why would they not protect and help each other.   I think Max had to step in and help Yuhno to begin with, even though he was the youngest.  It would not have been easy for Yuhno to carry on in the beginning seeing as how it still affects him so much to this day.  There were rumors of him not leaving his condo for two weeks after the breakup and going to see a psychologist.   Jae seems better at his concerts when they yell Yuhno's name, I think it is because he did love him and doesn't mind the public knowing?  maybe.  I think he got some hurt and anger out of his system with his songs and albums, which he knows the fans will pick up on the meanings.  

It could be! But their interactions on SNS aren't new, people are only noticing it now because they're more obvious. The only thing that I find weird is that they are too obvious now.

They could be:

1. In a real relationship and wanting to show it to the ~world~ (or maybe they think people won't take them seriously since they're two guys)

2. Trolling us

3. Distracting us from something else (TaoHun?)

 

Donghae knows how to ship.  Eunhae is/was great at it.  They know what the audience wants and gives it to them.   I'm not outright saying it was all fake,  but they never set off my buttons as real.   Not sure what he's doing now with Sehun.

I may be one of the few who doesn't think Tao is gay, IDK, he's only childish and extremely immature sometimes, but that's it. After seeing his reactions in that pepero game... I found him a bit homophobic, to be honest, so it's hard for me to think of him as gay.

Tao is the kind of guy that you know just by looking at him, especially for other gay men. He's the kind who you would be immensely shocked if he were anything other than gay. It's possible.... but at the same time he's so obvious that it seems entirely impossible, like some kind of bizarre alternate reality lol

I can see why you might jump to the conclusion of homophobia, but there are many other possible reasons for his behavior:

 

1. Not all gay men want to get up close and personal with other men. Especially their friends. It can even be gross if you think of them purely platonically (yes, even if they are as handsome as Suho lol).

2. Not all gay men want to see all other men getting up close and personal with each other. Again, especially their friends.

3. It's possible that Tao had a crush on either Lay or Sehun. Or hell, even Suho (though his face towards the end implies otherwise).

4. It's possible Suho had bad breath, causing Tao's face to turn from shy to sour the closer they got lol

5. It's possible Tao was uncomfortable with people trying to push his and Suho's faces together, regardless of his feelings towards Suho.

6. If TaoHun is/was a thing, his reactions would make a lot of sense.

Yeah DBSK has always been a "ship-happy" group because all five of them seem have very open sexualities. Even if they are all straight, it wouldn't surprise me a lot of "stuff" went on in that group

 

I don't see Jaechun as real either I just think it's hot xD I think that's probably a good thing because they seem like they could be a pretty destructive couple with how pessimistic and self-destructive they both can be ;;^^ thank goodness for Junsu!

 

I find protective-Changmin adorable too! It's really sweet how much he looks up to Yunho and how much Yunho dotes on Changmin    I don't think you're the only one who thinks that Changmin might have had a little boy crush on Jaejoong when he was younger. The way he followed him around like a little puppy dog was pretty telling. But I don't think it has much to do with his sexuality; which I think is mostly straight. With Yunho, he just greatly admires the man and I don't think either of them would want to push the close brotherly relationship they have to do something sexual. And with Jaejoong, I think Changmin just wanted to be like Jae who the "bad boy" to his "good boy". Changmin was pretty shy and timid in the early years and Jae, while he wasn't allowed to talk much in public, was still pretty wild and loud, and I think Changmin followed him around for the adventure. Like I remember during the Of Course game where JaeMin talked about the time they got caught drinking "bitter cola", and Changmin said he how joined them because Jae was his hyung and he wanted to be like him. It was sweet and I really miss it sometimes ://

 

Yeah I don't think those kinds of things are coincidences.  I think a lot of it is just Jae's blunt honesty and feelings coming through. And if it is Yunho (or someone else) that he wants to reach, it might only be through the songs that feels that he can (which is kind of depressing to think about ://)

 

 

 

 

 

that's very true. I've never really seen Junsu as the sensitive, "weak" one of the group either, he always seemed like one of the strongest if not the strongest, most versatile of group. He seems like the kind of person to adapt to any situation and always looks on the positive side of things. And also, as you said, fiercely protective of those he cares about, particularly Jaejoong who I think was once a lot stronger than he used to be. I think Jae's been worn down over the years and Junsu has turned out to be more of his rock than anyone else. Which is great cause I find their friendship adorable   and I think Junsu might have a tattoo now but I don't remember where I hear about it but if it has Jaechun's names on it I will flip LMAO

 

Well to be fair, Jae and Junsu kinda gave off the non-closeness thing during the AADBSK season II; at least they described it as such. And I think they didn't realize how close they were or how close they would become until after the split. They both had had someone else to talk to at the time in the group and then all of a sudden they didn't and they had to rely on each other. 

 

I agree Yoochun doesn't seem to be emotionally available as much as Junsu is. And especially during the times Jae seemed to be really depressed, Yoochun was constantly filming dramas, so I imagine Junsu was the one of speed dial for Jae lol.

I think in Jae's cases he just wants to talk about it so much and Yunho just wants to continue to ignore it and that might cause them both to be unable to really move on. 

 

I think it 2011-12 was the time that was pretty bad for Jaejoong. Where he lost a ton of weight and smoked and drank like there was no tomorrow. Compared to that, he does seem a lot better than he used to be.

 

Not sure about "Just Another Girl" though as being fanservice because I think he said that the story surrounding the song wasn't about him; just someone he knew. I mean, I guess he could've lied but there would be no point to if he wanted the fanservice to include him. I think other songs like "It Is" and "Shiny Day" are more his own feelings about the situation than JAG was.

I always felt bad for Max,  he was almost always stuck in between Jae and Yuhno when they would line up and almost always the two ended up talking around him or feeding each other like he wasn't there.   Jae would always reach past Max to give Yuhno food, it was so obvious.  I saw one great clip on YouTube and I have not been able to find it again where you can see Max get pissed after this happening again.  It must not have been easy.   I saw two interviews on SM dvs's with Max and he said "Sometimes I hate him"  referring to Yuhno.  Yuhno says they are like a married couple.   I've never seen the two act "close" to each other but I'm sure after 10 years they must be,  but they don't seem to be close like the JYJ guys are.  

 

I am positive that "All Alone" and "Nine" were written for Yuhno.  "All Alone" is so sad it makes you want to cry hearing Jae sing it.  

 

Mickey seemed to have fun with the two and their relationship.  I saw some videos where he was serious and trying to hide the view of YunJae hugging backstage.   I think Mickey and Junsu were very aware and protective of their relationship.  As we saw in the holding hands under the table video

Hi, I've been lurking this thread (and couple of OTP threads etc.) since it was around 700 pages long and I've read every single page. I finally decided to register an account so I can comment.

 

 

Being a gay guy I really had to say something about this. Where I'm from it's common for males to see others naked (saunas, locker room showers etc.) and at least for me it's never been a problem. I just think of it as normal interaction with others, nothing sexual about it. Suggesting that a gay guy would always get aroused by seeing other men nude is somewhat same as promoting the idea that gay guys would like to fuck every other male they encounter.

 

I'm sorry if my comment sounds too harsh, it's not meant to offend anyone. This has been a fun thread and I'd like to keep it that way - I just had to give my two cents even if it's kinda off topic.

But isn't  it a bit different than showering with someone? Normal shower cabins are made for one person, so with 2 people inside it'd be pretty cramped. Their bodies are are bound to touch each other...

Right off the bat, I'll say I have seen plenty of things with my own two eyes, as have other K-fans. I don't bring those things into general discussion here though, for what I believe are pretty obvious reasons. That was just to clarify, hopefully it didn't sound rude or anything, because that absolutely wasn't the intention!

 

Now, back to what we were discussing~ That's fair enough and I certainly can't make you believe that he interacts with Myungsoo any differently than he interacts with other people, but I just wanted to present my side of the story. There are other examples I could use, like the way he loves to throw his arms around Myungsoo and snuggle into his side (complete with that ear-splitting grin/adorable eye smile that is pretty much Myungjong-specific imo)

 

  

 

 

 

or the way he talks about him so immeasurably, like he's just so happy that they're even in each other's lives

(Now idk about anyone else, but to me that sounds like things you'd say to a lover... not just a friend)

 

or even the way he looks at him lustfully sometimes.

 

 

(This one is kind of up to interpretation, but it looked like he was whispering dirty things to him imo. At least judging by Sungjong's cheeky grin and Myungsoo poking him while he giggles away to himself. It's also from the same day that they both miraculously turned up to work with red marks on their necks and behind their ears)

These are all things I've never seen him do with the other members. It's not that he doesn't love them and it's not that he's never hugged them or spoken highly of them, but once again it's in a different way imo. But at the same time, I do see what you're saying with Gyujong~ I was talking with a close friend recently (hopefully she doesn't mind me talking about her here) and she said something very poignant imo. She said she sees beauty in every Sungjong ship, but she supports Myungjong. That's very much how I see things. I seriously love every Sungjong ship there is, but at the end of the day I support Myungjong. That being said, I don't think I miss anything that there is to see when Sungjong interacts with the other members and at the end of the day, I think he has different feelings for Myungsoo. It actually reminds me of two quotes about their relationship.

 

"SungJong: Um...Similarities...I guess it's us looking out for each other.

L: Because SungJong is the maknae, I take special care of him. He will also look out for me. Of course, I'm on good terms with the other members too. But how do I put this, we get along better. I can't leave him alone, so I take special care of him."

It's clear that when they talk about their relationship, they don't want it to seem like they're not close with the other members, because I don't think that's the case at all. I think they try and find a way to say they care about each other in a different way, without stepping on anyone's toes. Much like I tried to do with this post 

 

 

I do love the way they interact.   There does seem to be more than fan service in their eyes and actions.  I wish we got just a bit more like GunHeeChul or Yunjae to help us decide where they are

Ahh, ok, I don't follow much of what Exo does,  they are just too over talked about.   Still, what I said about being shy could be true as I was.   Also, he may not find any one of them attractive enough to pop wood and could be too shy to get that way.
