Which male idols do you think are gay?

omg i actually agree about sunghoon, it’s so rare to find someone else who thinks the same. he has the vibe of being sort of like.. uncomfortable with his sexuality? something about him just screams that at me. ive seen some clips of him that kinda just make my heart hurt tbh. i feel like in a few years he might be more confident…? like hes at the very beginning of understanding ?  he also said like he wants to become closer friends w/sunoo which i mean.. if hes dealing w some repression issues being closer w sunoo would help him a lot i feel like (bc sunoo seems p confident/unashamed of himself) if u had any specific thoughts abt him pls elaborate lol nobody else ever agrees w me on this

also the sunoo fancy cover is here. he also did dalla dalla and a momoland song + bwl i think. ngl he literally ate, i love this video but idk how it got recorded on like an iPod 2 or something in this day and age…

I can't really say anything about Sunghoon. I just think he is very introverted or awkward in front of the camera and with people in general. I do remember someone saying that he was the only male figure skater among all the other women figure skaters and was slightly bullied for it since a lot of people consider Figure skating to be very feminine.

Hi. about sunghoon. This discussion is very interesting. It's weird because another Ice skater Nathan Chen had an interview and he had to defend his sexuality and a lot of people found his statements slightly homophobic [I found his statements slightly problematic] and I just feel it's what comes with being an Asian figure skater and people always thinking you're gay. Most people always associate figure skating to be super gay [the costumes, the glitter, the performances itself] and also when you're Asian and most Asian men are not the alpha macho looking dudes then people will just throw you into that category and what's worse is that some figure skaters did come out as gay and it was not liberating to them. Like the way people think coming out should be a freeing experience. Well the skater who came out as gay started to get visibly lesser scores and the MC's/commentators also made outrightly homophobic gay jokes on the mic while he was performing. It's always the 'If you're not gay then why did you not choose Ice hockey?' like as if Gay men can't be part of Ice hockey themselves. It's all the assumptions, the jokes, the homophobic attitude coming from a homophobic country.

I remember when Asian figure skaters have to deal with so much as they are growing up. I read a few things on the Figure skating subreddit [I wish I could find that comment and post a screenshot] on how the girls are always reluctant on talking to you cause they think you are gay and literally everyone including your family, friends and even parents are always having these rumors surrounding you all the time. 'You're not gay right? no because if you are then it'd be so weird'

This is an interesting article that talks about how homophobic the figure skating world is.

https://graziadaily.co.uk/celebrity/news/s-whole-load-homophobic-bullying-going-male-figure-skating-world/

Sunghoon grew up in these situations and he was in it for years. He started when he was like so young and was in it till he was 17 spending more than half of your life about people making assumptions/jokes affects you in the long run and make you want to act like an alpha toxic straight male because you don't want to be that person being made fun of. He's probably heard all the disgusting gay jokes, he probably been asked more than 392298429 times if he is gay. He's probably seen it all with being in that world. Also I-land too felt like a football team full of dudes ready to take you down. I will come back to this post later and edit it. Maybe.

So an ex-trainee and a Kpop song writer started a youtube channel and they spoke about the LGBT community in the Kpop industry. It starts at around 24:54.

They say 'The lgbt community is pretty significant in the kpop industry and some members come out to their group'

What is interesting is they said 'It is more prominent than the public thinks'

she also mentions how some times some kpop idols are not supportive and it causes a lot of friction in the group so from this we can say that not all kpop idols are comfortable to even come out to their own members.

This was a very interesting video overall.

Seriously I wrote out a whole reply to this and then OH crashed😭😭😭😭

For the second time…

I actually am also a big figure skating fan, it’s how I started paying attention to Sunghoon and Enhypen in the first place. I definitely agree that the stuff you mentioned probably would play a big role in repression/overcompensating if he is actually attracted to men. The kpop industry also isn’t really a safe place either so I could assume he’d be feeling a lot of pressure combined w/ his past experiences. ILand was also a hellhole literally I watched it and saw how they treated Sunoo… that’s the kind of thing that would definitely encourage him or any idol who is lgbt on the dl to hide it away for a while.

In regards to Nathan Chen’s comments I also found them to be problematic, they struck me as really homophobic and kinda misogynistic. There’s a way to answer that question without being kinda blatantly anti-gay or at the very least extremely toxic in view of masculinity. Donovan was asked a similar question and handled it really well. I’ll update w the link when I find it

edit:

THATS how u answer that question..

Yes, there is way to answer and also play safe without sounding homophobic. Nathan said some weird things that didn't sit right with me.

I can't say a lot about Sunghoon but I do feel that he is extremely awkward and introverted [as I mentioned before] he does have a feminine feel to him. I do remember someone mentioning how he started acting up when Sunoo started kinda losing interest in him. I do remember Sunoo having a crush on Sunghoon. In my opinion I always thought Sunghoon kinda liked Jake a lot on I-land. He would always spend time with Jake. They were super comfortable with each other. Holding hands, resting his head on Jake's head. They had some real good connection. He also liked Heesung a lot but I could see the difference between his connection with Heesung and his connection to Jake. It had a different vibe.

Thing is that I don't see it anymore with them or maybe they just tone it down on camera.

the fact that sunghoon and his fixation on sunoo was discussed here the other day and now we have sunghoon bullying sunoo accusations...... engenes are in the top 5 dumbest kpop fandoms and there's fierce competition for that title

in any case, to me this whole situation seems like sunghoon is downright refusing to accept that he is fond of sunoo so he overcompensates by teasing him a lot. in the same en o'clock episode where sunghoon asked sunoo that controversial question, his obsession with teasing sunoo was also brought up in order to bring him to a difficult position (link to the ep here btw). to me it's clear that sunghoon is actively seeking out interactions with sunoo, some of which i've brought up before if you look up my posts on this thread. there was also this instance in sunoo's bday vlive where he actually tried to initiate a hug with sunoo (and lemme tell you a hug is fuckin groundbreaking for enhypen skinship standards, not to mention sunghoon standards) before backing out and giving him a high five </3. like props to you sunghoon gay truthers in the last few pages, i'm sold. the truth is i've always written off 2sun moments due to their chemistry being ab as much as bella and edward's in twilight, but in retrospect sunghoon is definitely sussy. like i genuinely cannot imagine teasing someone so much if you just wanna get closer to them as a ****friend****, this is literally how schoolgirls flirt. is it immature for a 20 year old grown guy to act like this? absolutely, but it's a thing that happens regardless. sunoo is totally Over the teasing though lol, i doubt sunghoon has any chances in that game anymore </3333

I tried watching the video but it was a little too long can you give me like a timestamp.

Also, I think most Asian men and Kpop idols act like they are 15 when they are 20. Most of them have little to no dating experience and even if they do it's mostly the straight people who do. Take it from me I come from that part of the world. Dating, kissing, asking someone out is a very big deal in Asia and when it's gay then it's an even bigger deal cause it is so uncommon.

I was watching a skating video of Sunghoon and one of the comments was very interesting

https://imgur.com/ZKGWUmH

This comment claims that he said in an interview that he would hardly ever talk to the girls who would skate with him even though they were the only possible friends he could make. Also that he was extremely lonely and upset most of the time and even he didn't know why he was like that. I just think there is so much more to Sunghoon. It could be that he was pressurized because he was an athlete but he did agree with being a loner and not talking to anyone.

so that controversial movie jaehyun was going to be in was instead adapted into a musical and ren (as well as vixx leo) is gonna be in it 😳

At this point we don't even have to debate it. Ren gay. That's it.

Korea=homophobic

Ren=in the closet.

the group with the most gay members in SM imo is NCT. like for once its harder working out who is straight

I mean they have like so many members so it's most obvious that they will have more gay members as well.

genuinely i just see him as straight. just very affectionate and caring with his members since he likes teasing and messing around. i feel like a good amount of his interactions with the members on camera are definitely fanservice tbh. imo i dont see anything about him thats raises eyebrows. at least he is a great ally and open-minded. however i wouldnt really be surprised from the slight possibility of him being gay.

so I think we share the same opinion about him. His fan service screams 'fanservice'

Woonggi's hiatus was probably caused by that twitter incident. Which is... still... related to him obviously being gay tho, so yeah, i can't even say this isn't a possibility.

If jerome leaves too we know something's up. Hope it won't happen though. Not to him or woonggi. It'd be hella boring without them

What is the twitter incident. I am curious now. and how does the twitter incident relate to him being gay? I tried searching on Twitter but nothing shows up.

Also what do people think about treasure?

There's a big hole in that. No pictures. By now, there would have been pictures of the two everywhere. People are now saying this person is lying.

Edit: I believe they are dating but this one story can be fake as well. yes you have to verify your credentials but that doesn't stop someone from making something up. If they were really on a budget flight, there would be pictures because they are two of the biggest idols in Korea.

Yes I agree with this. Like if they were really together then there would be like several pictures of them and ten people coming forward saying they saw them together. Literally no one did.

You know what the weird thing is?

As sassy as Sunoo is and is not scared of showing his feminine side I've never seen him show interest in anyone except Sunghoon that one time in Iland and even that now has vanished. Like you know when a crush starts showing interest in you or you just lose interest because of some reason.

I knew this one person who was super feminine and sassy but said he was straight. I know it's all stereotypes that all gay men are sassy and straight men act a certain way but now I do wonder if Sunoo comes under the sassy but straight category. I've never seen Sunoo show interest in anyone.

Like the way we talk about Taehyung and Bogum or Minho and Jisung.

Maybe he was asked to tone it down? Maybe he thought it is best to not show it too much? I don't know. I only hope he is not being bullied or discriminated against.

kyubin accidentally introducing himself as the hot gay member. he's right though

I keep hearing about this group on this thread.

Also I didn't know queer was a slur up until now. In Asia we use it as a blanket term for people who don't identify as gay but are on the spectrum.

I have been following enhypen for a while now and although I see that they are closer and Sunoo is more integrated there is still a wall with him. I don't think it's bullying or anything, but I do see a difference between the older ones with Sunoo who is considered part of the maknae line compared to the other younger ones, they tend to be more affectionate? Also Sunoo has mentioned many times about having to change attitudes like doing aegyo, like he said that before he wasn't ashamed to do it but now he thought more about it because of the other members reactions.. (but he still keeps doing it 😂) Anyway I see that there isn't a member who wants to do fanservice with him, that time he was on the radio with jungwon and Won complains that he can't wear a certain kind of jacket because Sunoo wears them often and if he wears it it would be like a couple look, Sunoo tells him it's ok for him but Won says he doesn't like it so Sunoo says he'll try to wear other things 😭

Yes this is what I'm talking about. I just feel like we don't really know what's going on in a group. In I-land too all of them just felt very hostile. I hate to say this but I did expect Jungwon to be slightly narrow minded when it comes to these things. The only open minded person is probably Jake. I think he comes off as remotely respectful or easy to talk to. I only just hope that Sunoo does not feel like he is being left out. Jungwon probably has never been exposed to such things or these discussions.

I know a lot of people might not agree with me but for the people who watched I-land I found Sunghoon's liking for Heesung interesting as well. He seemed to stand up and speak up for Heesung even when everyone wanted Heesung to not be the leader anymore. Everyone seemed to look up to Heesung as a model trainee but sunghoon seemed to have some kind of soft corner for Heesung like one very interesting part was when everyone voted for kicking Heesung out of the leader role and then all of them just walked away and left him alone but it was only Sunghoon who was looking for Heesung to talk to him.

I came across a video Soobin legit simping for a man. It was on a variety show.

Soobin says 'Does he have make-up on? He has such nice skin and he's so fit'

'He is so cute. He is so tall'

Later from the outside the man's shadow is seen so when Soobin see it he looks at the shadow and says 'Even his shadow is handsome'

TXT fans said that most of the episode was his saying these things about the man.

I just want to say that fan accounts who make such explicit art of two kpop idols is very uncomfortable and problematic considering the fact that both Kpop idols are real human beings and not anime characters. We don't know their sexual orientation and we don't know what they feel think. I mean like even if they are gay and dating each other this type of art is very unnecessary. Irrespective of the artist being gay or lesbian or anything. It's just disrespectful.

I certainly think there is more going on with Taehyung than what seems obvious on the surface. It's just that we might never know considering all the factors involved with being a member of such a popular group.

What do you mean by more going on with Tae? Like, I want to know.
