Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

I'll post here to make it easier for you guys to read (it's short):

(As I was translating this post, the original post on Instiz got deleted and the entire content including K-netizens' comments were all wiped out. I only 2~3 lines left to translate the post so I have the full blind item translated but no K-netz' comments)

Instiz: April blind item

Member A is from a famous boy group for their synchronized choreographies. The fans had suspected him to be gay or transgender, but it was eventually forgotten because his celebrity career went well for a long time. But he eventually came out as gay to his group members. Surprisingly, the members and staff had already suspected him to be gay since he was a trainee due to his obvious behavior, so they weren't much surprised.

synchronized choreographies : i think of infinite, Teen Top & Shinee

Suspected gay/transgender male idols from fans: idk about transgender but Key, Sungjong

I don`t really know who to think it is but maybe Key or Sungjong idk...

they still posted it  :raep:

the first person to pop out on my mind was sungjong

The comment sections, as always, is a mess. And yeah, Sungjongie would be my bet as well. I think Key's been out for quite a while now, at least in the group.

I also think it's Sungjong. Even though Key loves to show off that ring of his with the transgender symbol on it, I doubt his Korean fans ever thought he might be transgender.

I thought that too, Key seems like he has understood his sexuality for a long time and has nohing against it, I dont think Sungjong was that out to himself and stuff

And Key could have been at Sungjong`s age when he came out since Sungjong is like 21...

And Key has never been seen as as femenine as Sungjong, Sungjong had everything to make people cuestion if he was a girl or a boy, i don`t think it was like that with Key

Someone convinced me that D.O were 'not much into woman as we were thinking'.

I'm pretty much believe it.

So you're just going to leave it at that and not elaborate?

I've been wondering for a while now, just what kind of "rights" does the entertainment industry have when it comes to blocking public figures because of them allegedly promoting an "abnormal" image, such as being gay?

I know that Hong Seok Cheon's actor career got interrupted for years because no one wanted to work with him, but how would TV and music channels react towards the future celebrities coming out? Would an entire groups activities get blocked if one member admitted he/she isn't straight?

It's to be expected that the individuals image might get damaged, but would the industry actually block the person/group?

Rumours say that Sungjong and Myungsoo have been dating since sometime in 2011, so this "blind item" would be pretty old already if it's really about Sungjong. And it's been 5 years? I think he came out years ago, together with maybe Myungsoo and followed by the other's? Idk, the timing of this Blind Item irks me a lot- if it's as everyone assumes Sungjong.

But whoever this person is, I am proud of the brave steps he took by coming out to someone, especially to your co-workers and friends. It takes a lot of courage.

That one person would get fired, and the rest of the group would keep on promoting without him.

The comments in there are already a fucking mess holy shit. It doesn't matter what actual transgender people are like, most Koreans are not gonna think a manly guy is transgender and y'all know it :imstupid:

Anyway, this is obviously a pretty old item since they say things like "eventually" and "long time", so I'm thinking groups that debuted at least 4 or 5 years ago. It seems to most obviously point to either Sungjong or Taemin, both of whom had delayed puberty and suffered some pretty severe transgender and gay rumors because of it.

I almost feel like Sungjong is too obvious a choice, but maybe that's why they deleted it? Like "oh shit wait people are figuring that out way too easily". Wish I could've seen the comments  :rlytearpls:

They are free to do basically whatever they want, there are no legal protections that I'm aware of. It actually used to be a running gag on programs that HSC would go on that if he didn't "behave" (stop acting so gay) they would cut his parts out of the show. Bless that man for putting up with so much bullshit tbh.

I don't think they would block anybody that came out automatically, I think they would follow what the public wants. If the public still wants to see the group on the air, the broadcasting companies will make it happen. If people stop tuning in then they'll stop bringing them onto shows.

By the way, if the idol who came out is really Sungjong, doesn't that also confirm that L likes boys too? I mean they said that the group members already suspected him to be gay, and I doubt any straight member would have been so touchy-feely with him that fans could mistake them for a couple.

Recent blind items.

"4. Boy band member I, whose group is known for their perfect choreography, recently came out to his members. He's always been suspected to be gay or a transgender between fans but the topic was forgotten because he was able to adjust to celebrity life well. Recently, however, he confessed to his fellow members. Having trained with him since pre-debut, the members weren't surprised."

his face says no but his mind says later

best things I've seen all day

Hongki seems to seriously like women, but that's all I have, he could very well be not straight, he does look a bit interested sometimes :hurr:  but now, this second part could be my bias talking, I'm simply not ruling out anything (just that he doesn't, at least sexually, like women too)

Of course! I'd go For sure with RockHyun, Hyuk jin and Minwoo(he's the second Kwanghee of the industry). Changbum really pings me too. the other 2 are straight for me. E.den and King looks straight to me. Rasa too. I'd say Jun is the only gay member. I dont remember the name of the other one but He doesnt ping me too(I didnt really watch a lot of shows of L.c9 so I can be wrong). :)

I don't know 100% well so I can't comment much about them.

For Minwoo I thought he was straight bcuz on Weekly idol when the hosts asked him about the candy kiss between Baro and Hyukjin he said it was disgusting .

But I seriously just think he was putting on a front.

This one also caught my eye:

"2. There are over 200 girl groups registered with the Singer's Association, making that over 1,000 individual girl group members. However, there are two with social security numbers that start with a 1 (males start with 1, females start with 2). The public is already aware of a transgender group L, which means there is another either male or a transgender registered as a girl group member."

Hmmmm...

So.. that basically means that the person that comes out preferably should be someone that the Korean public already suspects, right? Because then, in their eyes, there's no shock that would change their way of looking at the individual/group, and mainly the attitude towards the individual/group would just stay the same?

An idol (and celebrities in general) are greatly dependent on his fandom, that it scares me how many fans are not even aware that gay idols exist and are so against the idea of their oppa being gay, which in Korea could lead to absolute elimination to an idols career.

Doesn't it frustrate you all?

as a korean i can tell you that probably not bc everyone i know actually loves him i know people that are like "i don't support gays" but they love hong seok cheon, which yes is a lovely big step (netizens may talk crap now and then but i'm from seoul and i've never heard a bad comment about him ever only praise especially on his bravery) so it's not really "risky" for idols to do that

however on the subject of who the people taking pictures with him are,,, so many people are friends w him that this doesn't apply for all people of course... but i would keep an eye out for those that hang around w him quite often, thats all im going to say

omg yeah i basically wanted to say that but didn't know if i would be too judgemental?? lol
