I believe some people reinforced the idea that Yunho was straight because they were annoyed by some Yunjae shippers. The thing is that Yunho didn't have to be with Jaejoong to be gay. And the guy is quite obvious.

But later (earlier? the fan accounts can be confusing) said he wouldn't become gay (because you already are?).

He's most likely to pull a post-army Heechul, especially if he finds a boyfriend. He was unstoppable when he was with Yunho, and that was under SM. Imagine how he'd be like if he fell in love now.

Jang Geun Suk is definitely not straight in my opinion. From what he does/did on stage, to him kissing a man on his instagram, to his friendship (neighbourship?) with other obvious LGBT artists.

Since we're on the topic of straight girls fetishizing gay/bi men, I've noticed that a lot of shippers and/or owners of nsfw twitters are bisexual/lesbian women. Do you guys think bisexual/lesbian women can also partake in the fetishizing of gay/bi men (in this case idols) done by straight women? Or would you say there's a difference there because they're also a part of the LGBTQ community? Personally I do think that there's fetishizing going on by lesbian/bisexual women as well, but i wouldn't put it in the same category as the fetishizing done by straight women.

First of all, I am, I think, a bisexual woman. I'm a confused person, but I'm sure I'm sexually attracted to (at least) men and women. Love is more complicated, but I can see myself with a man or a woman, and probably with someone who doesn't identify as either as well. 

 

I'm not sure what you all mean by fetishizing in this case. Because I have read fanfictions from different fandoms with gay men for years, and I do enjoy the idea of two men together. But not differently from the way I enjoy the idea of two women together, a man and a woman or any two consenting people who are in love. And I do read those too by the way. I tend to search for emotions/feelings rather than sexual stuff though... So I'm not sure if I get it. 

 

I do believe that there is something to say about same sex relationships being so frequent in most fandoms though. In my experience of it, it allows girls (in this case) to imagine a love story/sexual relationship without gender roles being imposed on them. It might be "safer"?? Personally, I like people, and especially men who express their feelings, and I find it more often in medias involving homosexual relationships for instance.

I feel that it is also often easier as a woman, to identify with a gay man (than a straight man). Maybe because some (many?) of them are more in touch with both their masculine and feminine sides. Personally, I feel closer to people who are able to show both (whatever their gender is).

Maybe love stories where there is a "forbidden" element tend to attract people more too. It's forbidden so it's (supposedly) stronger, you have to overcome obstacles... Romeo and Julio basically. Everything is against them but they manage to love each other anyway (and /SPOILER/ die, yeah... but you see the point!).  

 

Fandoms allow people to imagine/see things that are critically underrepresented in conventional medias as well. So it could be that it is enticing for some, to be able to "play" with something taboo (not okay, but quite frequent in many sexual fantasies) I can't speak for others though, and it has never been taboo for me, because I'm lucky enough to have been raised by a quite progressive parent. It is not that easy for everyone... 

 

I often think about this question, mostly because I tend to be disgusted by men using lesbian women as sexual objects? So I often wonder if it is different when women do that with gay men. To me, there is a difference in that men in society are the privileged ones, and have been showing entitlement to women bodies forever. "Not all men", of course, obviously. I'm talking about the system here, not individuals. The strength ratio is not quite the same. 

Does it make it okay for women to fetishize gay men (or anyone really)? NO. Definitely not. But I do believe that both cases are slightly different. 

 

Now, if we are talking about (straight) women who "ship" idols but can't accept them being gay, this is something that I am not able to understand... The term "Jaesexual" is going to haunt me forever. How do their brain make it work, I have no idea. At least be consistent, I don't know...

I have seen stuff like that in this thread too. People saying that an idol is straight but could enjoy having sex with another man, or could fall in love with a man... I mean... If a guy is straight, he is, by definition exclusively attracted sexually and(/or?) romantically by the "opposite" gender (i.e. cis/trans women here). The idea that "he's straight but willing to experiment", I could understand as in "is still discovering his sexuality, and wants to try different things to know what he likes". Okay, it would works. But we REALLY need to stop with this "gay for xyz" bullshit. In this case, then he is not straight. He is at the very least bi/pan. Deal with it.

 

 

tldr: Not sure if it is wrong for women to imagine gay relationships as long as they are respectful. But at least be consistent.

I don't think there is anything to worried about though, since Koreans don't take these things as proof of sexuality. They'll probably look at it as a joke and move on.

I really need someone to explain to me his marriage. I don't know much about Super Junior so I don't understand it at all. From a professional viewpoint it doesn't make sense at all; he's still an idol, Suju hasn't disbanded and he got quite some backlash after this. She's not pregnant. So why get married? Did his family pressure him? It's so baffling to me even if I take out the sexuality factor.

Well, they could genuinely be in love, or think they are. She could be in love with him and he could go with it because he cares for her?

I'd be cautious with this kind of proofs... I've seen so many "Yunjae" proofs these past few years. And many are really far fetched, and sometimes downright ridiculous... (and I'm telling you this as someone who believed they were more than friends at some point).

I don't know as much about Yunho and Jaejoong, but from what I've seen, they were EXTREMELY obvious. Like, extremely obvious. Yunho possibly more than Jaejoong. . . I mean, there was that point where Jaejoong said, 'I don't think that Yunho sees me as a man'. Yunho's general attentiveness to Jaejoong seemed off the charts from what little I've glimpsed.

 

Yeah, I know that... But it falls under "shipping" for most people, and would be considered as such by non-fans, right? It is still to this day advocated as fan-service by some fans. I know he's his manager so it's normal that they spend a lot of time together, but sometimes, I get Gunhee vibes (shy version) from him. Like, he's everywhere. Social media, army, holidays, with Jaejoong's family and friends, Vlive, even on stage... So I wonder...

Based on looks and behaviour alone, I can see him being attracted to a guy or a girl, but considering he looks quite shy, it's not easy to tell (whereas Gunhee was quite obvious groping Heechul live on filmed radio).

But, the implication is there.  And wow, I'm not into NCT but Ten is really beautiful when he dances. I guess newer SM groups do that to me. I still don't follow Exo but Kai's solo dancing is just...

I always wonder about Minho and SUJU Kyuhyun because they are DBSK Changmin's close friends. They often drink and spent new year together. I have an opinion about them, but without recipes because i dont follow them or their groups. In DBSK rainbow, Changmin is most likely straight, but he had some questionable moments... 

I don't see Kyuhyun as anything but straight, but he could be. I don't know him well anyway.

 

Changmin...  His questionable moments happened when he was a teenager, right? His admiration for Yunho, his love and hate relationship with Jaejoong, "I don't like men"... etc. I haven't seen many questionable moments in a long while. Changmin is definitely attracted to girls. So is he straight or bi/pan? I would say straight, but I'd like to hear your point. Could you maybe post the moments you were thinking about? 

 

As for Minho... maybe bisexual? I doubt he would ever seriously act on it though?  But I don't know him that well either so...
