25%Cotton 7,133
Am I the only one here who hates the word bromance? Not that it's an affront or anything, I just think it's dumb and unnecessary. (Again, that's nothing against you, in case someone got the wrong impression.)lol i was thinking the same thing, tbh. i know most people don't mean it this way, but the word feels like it's making light on the relationship between two guys. like two guys having a deep, emotional relationship is funny and silly. it's one thing that bothers me about american society (don't know about other western countries because i never lived there) that there's this impression that men can only form this aloof, derpy kind of bond. er, i know destined2bebossy didn't mean it that way so it's totally fine and he/she shouldn't worry about it, but for me there's a slight sting. XD DO we know for sure it's really them, though? i'm not finding a solid confirmable source and there are a lot of lookalikes in korea, not to mention the angle on lefty's face is iffy and righty's is nonexistant Edited September 29, 2013 by 25%Cotton
25%Cotton 7,133
How do we know it's EXO? How was it taken? Where does it come from? Most importantly, I doubt the guy on the left is D.O. at all.he looks more like suho, imo. but i'm doing some searching and i've yet to find any reliable source. most of the pages that come up are in thai or an asian language i can't recognize. it's possible it's just some random asian couple who some exo fan discovered and wanted to show people they look like exo. no I don't mean to make sorta like joke of guy friendships. It is a bit of an American thing in thinking (that guys have to have this sort of stand off-ish relationship with eachother) that's why I use it in more of a relationship where guys are being more intimate than what they typically are (at least where I live) but aren't in an actual partner/relationship (that was primarily why I used bromance cause I don't think jongkey are actually an item) and call me Destiny! I am female btw lol yeah i know you didn't mean that, so it was fine. XD Edited September 29, 2013 by 25%Cotton

25%Cotton 7,133
<3when i did a backwards search for the image, all it came up with were like... two tumblr pages and then a bunch of thai/filipino gay porn blogs. plus, even though i am an exo fan i didn't recognize either boy when the image was first posted (i thought it was like seventeen or one of those homoerotic groups i don't know). Nah.. Wayy too unreal for me... Kyungsoo and Suho are both Uke typish guy.. I cant imagine one of them being a seme. hahaha, to be honest, the only "seme"-seeming guy in kpop is [/ERROR CODE: 3902] [/NO ITEMS IN DIRECTORY] Edited September 29, 2013 by 25%Cotton
25%Cotton 7,133
Just searched up ''SEME'' on Google and got ''Semen'' results!! seme 세메 and uke 우케 are japanese slang terms for top and bottom (in that order). actually, they are mostly just used in yaoi (you probably know what yaoi is; basically gay anime porn typically made by and for women, though usage of the term has spread to contain basically any anime-style porn). actual gay people in japan use different words usually in my short jack'd experience. But even though Sehun is soo fab all I can see in him is a Seme (Body Build is too seme Much) But I can always be Delulu and see Luhan Topping Sehun.. if it helps, if i remember correctly sehun and suho are the only two members of exo with bulges.er, i guess that doesn't help if you want to imagine luhan as topping sehun, hmm. oh well, it doesn't NOT help :v Edited September 29, 2013 by 25%Cotton
25%Cotton 7,133
Yeah but then I dont why woollim had to edit the JJANG episode in a way where Hoya didn't want infinite S anymore So basically what happened was that Hoya said he was not interested in S anymore when asked about it, but then sungjong did a I got a boy danced n he said no he actually is again But then the video was edited to be like, sungjong dancing the i got a boy first, n hoya after saying he is not interested cu of that dance We only knew of this when a fan posted the real video on youtube And yeah myungjong seemed to be unaffected so maybe the whole scandal is false n sungjong knows it, or maybe they are just friend who ARE VERY TOUCHY lol Or maybe sungjong actually has someone else already any link to the unedited video? 25%Cotton 7,133
I know... I think one day, hopefully not too far away, the first active or even actor will come out, which will inspire more to come out, which will make it more accepted, and it will snowball from there. But it's the first people to come out that have it the hardest. It's really a catch 22. They can't come out because it might halt their career. But if no-one ever comes out there will never be acceptance. But I have faith it will happen within my lifetime in Korea. It has to, the way the world is going. QED more celebrities have to lose their careers. :/ it sucks, but for things to stop sucking, they have to suck a little bit first.
25%Cotton 7,133
This is why I can't get into Yaoi or shonen ai, to be honest. Gender roles piss me off, even in het relationships. I thought that initially, but even if Tao is more dominating he still strikes me as a bottom. Well, there goes all that straightsplaining down the drain... SHINee's back what is 기밤 supposed to be, though? key's name is kibeom 기범, not kibam. ._. unless it's key's twitter name or something. 25%Cotton 7,133
I am going to be honest with you. For MyungJong, I have nothing on it due to the fact I am not really a fan of the pairing Infinite itself. After a while, you notice how the thread 75-90% of the time is about MyungJong. You might see tidbits of other pairings here and there, but overall it's all about that pairing. No offense to anyone, including MyungJong shippers, but you guys are turning sort of turning this into a one pairing only thread. I know that Myungsoo has the dating scandal with that ulzzang chick, but seriously. Sorry.... I am not used to acting like this on the internet and I really don't want to offend anyone. I liked it when this pairing used to be more diversified in pairings. it fluctuates. and not randomly, either; it depends on what kind of news/gossip/etc people stumble upon and post here. not long ago, this thread was almost purely exo. other times, there is way too much yunjae and i basically (as somebody who doesn't care to for yunjae information as it was years ago and i am not a dbsk fan) just fade into the background during those times... or just post something else. hell, i remember on the previous forum, this thread had a ton of jongkey-only phases even (a ship which has mostly disappeared lately). it just depends on what content is provided and who is actually posting in the thread. it's not our job to give every idol equal attention. 25%Cotton 7,133
It's weird to see people saying Dongwoo is "straight seeming", 'cause to me it's the complete opposite lol And I've always thought Hoya was straight but just really protective of his gay friends. Idk. He's hard to read. Btw y'all "queer" is actually a slur in most of the world (even parts of the US)... so when you say "queer people" it's basically the same as saying "faggots" to most people >_<;; I think Tao is versatile~ I don't pass, but I don't really tone it down either. People tend to think I'm a girl or a young teen half the time anyway, so yolo I guess I don't know about lesbians, but for gay guys it's actually a lot easier to get dates when you seem straight than when you're all feminine and stuff *totally not bitter or anything* *bitter tho* i thought "queer" was mostly reclaimed since it was never that strong of a slur to begin with (with fag/faggot being much stronger). it's also the Q in LGBTQIA intended to cover those who feel that LGBT don't cover their sexuality/gender. i think using it as a noun is still vaguely a slur, but using it as an adjective is pretty neutralized from what i've seen (many of the gay guys i met in the GSA at my university casually referred to themselves and their issues/difficulties as "queer 〜"
25%Cotton 7,133
while it's certainly possible that they're going on a date and fits well with the video, akamak is just pointing out that it's not 100% sure. it's the same thing as myungsoo's scandal he JUST had. sure, he was in some pictures with this chick grabbing on him while he was in a mild disguise (clearly somewhat trying to hide), but many of us have come to the conclusion that despite the fair possibility that the two of them were on a date, they were with unseen other people and were just together as friends (to the chagrin of that idol-relationship-faking girl). just because there is ONE explanation for something does not mean it's the only explanation. to assume they MUST be on a date because of arbitrary factors is just as delusional as saying, "oppa can't be gay because blah blah blah." it's TRUE that REGARDLESS how not-DBSK-status infinite is as far as sasaengs go they STILL get recognized on the street for being popular celebrities; even simply getting stopped for a few autographs, while to fans doesn't seem like much time, can be really bothersome to an idol who is just trying to have dinner or shop for something or get to a schedule, especially in bulk (i'm sure there are other concerns such as random scandals and getting tailed by paparazzi, etc). you don't have to be DBSK to feel the need to be wary as a celebrity in public. i'm not saying they AREN'T on a date, just admitting that there is always the possibility the truth lies in another explanation. my personal impression is that they are on a date (leaning 60:40), but let's not be delusional here -- there is a chance they aren't. 25%Cotton 7,133
That was before I knew that it's widely considered a slur. Live and learn tbh i guess it's very regional. "widely" is such an arbitrary adverb. i can just as say "it's widely considered acceptable" and be just as correct. of course there are places and people that consider it a slur and places that don't. *edit: i'm also pretty sure it's used fairly freely in academia. i've encountered it in a number of articles i'd read over my time in university, and one of my friends from a different university majored in "queer studies" at her university. Like i said itis possible tha thtey are on a date but it also possible that it was just a friendly outing. I never said it was 100% a date, i just used the word ''date'' because that what i think it is but i could be horirbly wrong as well. Oh by the way the disguise thing u mention, it not becaus ethey want to hide their face so people wont recognize them, they do that stuff all the time to airport it is to hide their FREE MAKE UP FACE. Everyone can recognize an idol with jsut a mouth cover especially the fans "here is the thing we don't only base our assumption on that video, we already feel like they have something more then friendship while u don't so that why when we see them together without the members we think it a date, while u don't" i just thought it was a little harsh of you to suddenly spring this us-and-them idea on akamak. disagreement and skepticism aren't things to be afraid of in a thread like this. I used we because there is other myungjong shipper who think it is a datr, Notice how I Always use the word "Think", because we alr feel like they are more then friendsthat's fine, just be careful~. i think akamak is just trying to keep a step back so we don't all lose our heads. it's an important role because we all know how kpop fans can turn out if they leave themselves unchecked, lol :P
25%Cotton 7,133
I'm just saying, if you look it up in dictionaries it's listed primarily as a derogatory or negative term when used to refer to people, and the lgbt umbrella term definition is listed as controversial or localized usage, or (most often) it's not even listed at all. It's not often used in academia, and when it is it's generally considered controversial. this is only one database, but: JSTOR search, "queer" as expected, "gay" comes up with about 5x as many, but LGBT barely comes up with any in comparison. "homosexual" and "lesbian" come up with pretty close to the same number as "queer." i'm sure in many companies it's uncomfortable to use queer, particularly in non-formal situations where insults and crude speech aren't uncommon. but it's not a negative word across the board; the people i've talked to that use it consider it useful when addressing LGBTQ people because "lesbian" only refers to lesbians, "gay" often only refers to gay men (as is the connotation it takes in "LGBTQIA"), etc., where "queer" can be used as a catch-all that isn't as cumbersome as repeating "LGBTQ people this, LGBTQ people that." i definitely admit there are many situations, even among formal/academic types, where the word does not go over well (especially in the case of people who have been viciously bullied through its usage in the past) Edited October 2, 2013 by 25%Cotton

I Seriously hope ur not kidding around. N he is really popular n he does that kind of stuff, he must not be afraid to be found out. Ur friend seem so lucky though, but this is so surreal BUt u know it not gossip anymore lol if ur friend has a photo of him kissing his cheek n EVEN SHOWED IT TO U n u recognize him lol Well as long as that photo is not out to the public, then this whole thing is considered to be just a rumor i don't think we should ask to see the photo, though. it's a bit personal and if the pic got out then it could be very awful and hurt everyone involved. anyway, *assuming this is true*, is there a chance it's just a lookalike? it seems a bit hard to believe that your friend wouldn't notice that he's famous if they've been basically anywhere at all together. if it IS the celebrity you think (or actually, even if it isn't), best luck to the relationship! ^^ *starts trying to remember all idols with a D as an initial letter*all idols that are at least relatively famous! dongwoon, dongwoo, donghae, daesung, (daehyun), doojoon, D.O (if you say D.O instead of kyungsoo) ^^all i can remember right now. i'm sure there are probably plenty more.
