The bolded part delivers what I could never convey articulately all these times.

This is why I'm extremely skeptic about the videos or photos of any skinships shown by idols on cams.

For the international fans, there may be some hopes for at least some genuine or sincere acts captured on cam.

But I personally can't really trust these interactions 100%, especially since idol trainee in places like Korea or Japan really taught everything from the way they act to the way they interact, and they are very serious about it. It won't surprise me if some seemingly apparent personalities also scripted.

It may be unbelievable, but idols or even actors/musicians rarely have any freedom to even act spontaneous even in variety shows, where everything is scripted to death(I was told once by a Japanese friend that in typical Japanese variety shows even the random jokes or funny quips are scripted, right to the laughter parts too) and only on some rare occasions they deviate a bit from the scripts, but maybe that'd only be allowed if you're a big star or a senior MC like Yoo Jaesuk.

And don't even start about the fan-captured interactions on award shows or any music shows- I'm skeptic about the fanservice-y interactions too esp when it comes to ships- idols are not living under rocks, sometimes even their agencies made them aware which ships are popular and maybe they even told these idol pairs to do some lovey-dovey skinships as fanservice. Ofcourse an idol can do several fanservice with several people, can't feed just one ship after all.

 

So anyway, after living in Asia for so long and spending my time here, I also have come to realization that for these asian idols- be it Japanese or Korans or even Chinese or Thai- gay-baiting fanservice is like the real-life version of yaoi anime and manga. Think of it as roleplaying the yaoi anime&Manga by real people.

Agree. The way people shove shipping into their faces, I do believe they’re very much aware of the impact fan service has. On fans, on merchandise sales. Keeping young girls and boys swooning. Interested. We are talking about the people who have been trained in this subject since they stepped into the company. They now how to play. We all know what a major part fan service plays in kpop/Jpop, and if you think they’re not groomed and totally aware of what buttons to press, you’re delusional. Therefore, it is the most logical approach to know that 99% of the closeness in front of the cameras or on the stage, in front of hundreds of thousands of fans are fan service. It is really hard to find really sincere ones among all these games.

I know most people hate this topic so I'm addressing this only to the OP and it's in a spoiler so it won't clog up the board. I know it's a contentious subject so only read if you are interested in the topic. I'll not be addressing it again but just wanted to make a point of interest on something I'd noticed in the recent Malta footage. 

 

 

To answer your question, me personally, no. And I honestly have no problem with any pairing for pairing's sake. But I think this is a fan favourite one and has become a self-fuelling juggernaut, based on what fans want rather than what is actually there.   

 

Have Vkook messed about at some point in the past? Maybe, I wouldn't rule it out. But to me, the body language, the little things, are all wrong for an intimate couple now. They have shared a lot; friendship, secrets, affection and support, stress and tough times, and if they are both on the rainbow spectrum then perhaps other things (by that I'm thinking solidarity and say, mental comfort).

 

In Malta, and if the translation is correct, didn't J-Hope say he walked in on them in a bedroom curled up top to toe asleep or something? If that's true then have you ever heard of intimate adult partners sleeping top to toe like little kids? Why sleep like that when every single other regular, sexually intimate couple sleeps face to face, back to back or face to back. They're just buds. There's more chance of Jungkook dating Hobi imo and even that's probably a stretch.

I feel like if Dispatch has information on an LGBT couple, they'd have to have some pretty freaking damning evidence, and if they have damning evidence, this LGBT couple probably doesn't give a damn to begin with. Because if there's something we LGBT people know what to do, is hide our identity and play a role, and know the safe places where we can be ourselves. Pictures of people holding hands and hugging, that's not evidence enough.

Atsushi from EXILE is suspicious to me. It can be debated where LDH is considered an idol company or not.

 

- almost 20 years in the business, and no dating rumors/scandals until several of his bandmates were getting hitched, and then we got a quick rumor that he was marrying a school teacher, and there was a picture of him with a woman whose face was censored. It didn't take long for Atsushi to make a post on instagram about it, denying everything, just saying she was someone he dated until they broke up because their paths took them to different directions. He also said they dated for 4 years. Really, 4 years and no one made a tabloid about it until now, conveniently when your other bandmates are getting hitched and starting families? Okay, gotcha!

 

 

 

 

 

 

I don't know this man but one of my favorite Japanese actors recently got married. There was no gossip about him, but it turned out that he dated the woman for 6 years! So everything is possible. Especially when it comes to the idol world.

I can understand that that's no proof, but this news came out very close after Takahiro (the other vocalist of Exile alongside Atsushi) and Emi Takei announced pregnancy and their (shotgun) wedding. Besides, this man has literally had no other rumors or gossip for almost 20 years. He could be just a very careful private person but regardless everything about this SCREAMS fake. It was a quick little rumor that was debunked fast. 

 

 

 

 

I really understand what you mean. The actor I have told you haven't even gotten a gossip for almost 10 years. He was just a hard-working and popular actor. Then bam, he married a woman who apparently dated for 6 years. These people are trying to keep their fans by creating the impression of they are single. Even rumors of going out with someone are enough to get their jobs down. That's why they're careful.

omg yes it'd be really cool if anyone has any tea/evidence on kamenashi kazuya! I've speculated about him for years but he's so private (rightfully so) but ex-Kat-tun member jin akanishi and him were heavily shipped by fans and even marketed by their own company as a ship kinda 

 

I've write about Kame before. His song " 1582 " have most iconic stage performance ever. Song and performance talking about Oda Nobunaga/Mori Ranmaru's relationship. Oda is one of the most famous samurais ever because he was the first man to conquer all of Japan. Ranmaru was Oda's personal servant and a fiercely talented samurai. Also is known as one of the most beautiful boys in history. His beauty is said to have been so feminine that he could have passed for a woman. Once a foreign consul was so shocked by Ranmaru's beauty, that he fell speechless upon the sight of him. 1582 is the year of Nobunaga and Ranmaru's death. They died July 21st 1582.

 

It is believed that Ranmaru and Oda had a sexual relationship. Nanshoku (sex between men) & Shudou (pederasty) was a common practice in those days. In several books written on how to be a good samurai or man of honour, the practice of having sex between an older male and a younger male was noted as a useful aspect of noble culture. Supposedly, the younger man would be trained to become a capable man and warrior, teaching him valuable lessons in beauty, honour and virtue, and the older Samurai was seen as in a position of strength and power. This practice was something even monks would partake in, believing it to curb the feminine corruption of women that could distract from being a good warrior.

 

And Kame performed Ranmaru on the stage. He emphasized how elegant and beautiful and how much talented samurai he was. Also the picture of the temple where Ranmaru and Oda died were also used in his performance. He's even put details in his performance like they were assaulted and Ranmaru later set fire to the temple.... This is still seen as the most spectacular Johnnys solo performance ever.

Just as a slight off topic but Bighit rolled out its new boyband today, or at least the first member and it looks like we're in for a loooong week ahead. I think I'm going to be calling this TDU - The Di$traction Unit - because it's obviously a gap-filling measure in the likely event of BTS members enlistment within the next year or two.

 

Bighit will want to keep those tills ringing in their absence and what better way to do it than with a group Hobi himself coached. Bighit are really clever in many ways, they know how to 'endear' ARMY to the new group by having Hobi touch it with his godlike hand, rather than just dropping it unannounced on a cold floor in front of everyone. 

 

ARMY are predictably losing their shit already. But in a sense I'm hoping that if this new unit proves to be a reasonable distraction from ardent fans focusing solely on BTS, it might give BTS members a bit more freedom, creatively and/or otherwise. It could work in their favour and take some pressure off them. Let's see.   

 

Hobi's group is different, though. They're not Big Hit's new group, they belong to a program called Under 19.

Fair enough, but I don't doubt we'll see interaction or they'll have pre-recorded interactions with the new group. It looks as if they're drip feeding them member by member throughout the week. 

 

And Hobi mentoring younger dancers in general is pretty telling. It's an obvious precursor to the new generation of BH artists. 

 

Off course, I'm pretty sure Big Hit going to use BTS and new group interactions. Not because the two groups like each other or they are brothers, but because everything is business.^^

Yeah, Jin hits 28 early December so either this year or next for him but I can see them all going together and just getting it over and done with. If indeed they have to do it. There have been discussions by Korean lawmakers about possible exemptions but tbh that would uncork a whole other can of worms with fans of other big groups, like EXO, who certainly won't be made exempt (Xiumin goes soon). But BTS is on a whole other level so maybe they will be given a pass, given what they must be doing for the economy.

 

 

Actually, I learned enlistment goes by the international age already, so Jin still have 2 years.
