My Finger 871
Aww♥ Wouldn't surprise me if there was a practical reason for that, as it were. Speaking of SHINee, did Jonghyun just change his Twitter pic? Or did I just miss when that happened? Now, I can't read Korean at all, but it amuses me that in that massive block of text, it says "Male To Female". :D No clue about the context though. Presumably it doesn't refer to MTF. Also, just realised this is page 404. Well it says "transgender" after it so...
My Finger 871
Jonghyun, I love you, you're amazing Proud to be a fan of him. Here's a better translation btw: < No matter what name you call us, we are not ‘Annyeong’ (well) > Last April, the third attempt to enact anti-discrimination legislation was turned down because of those who loathe equality. In September, Kim Jo-kwang-soo and Kim Seung-hwan publically held a same sex wedding for the first time in Korea. There were disturbances such as human excrements being thrown onto the stage, but Kim Jo-kwang-soo and Kim Seung-hwan marched down the aisle with pride as to prove that “love is stronger than hate.†But a few days ago, their marriage registration was denied. Also, some people voiced ridiculous claims that textbooks should discuss the issue of the humans rights of sexual minorities as a topic you agree or disagree with. Many of you who read this will think like this: how on earth does this concern me or the state of current affairs? But because I know him [Kim Jo-kwang-su], I can tell you this. Whether you are pleased with this or not, this is the story of the world that sexual minorities, including myself, live through, who dine, take classes, study, and have debates with with all of you. This is another side of the current affairs of the society we live in. Yes, I am a sexual minority. I am a male to female transgender person and I am bisexual. I am a woman. I am of the “880,000 Won†generation. I am a college student. I am one of the inheritors of the working class. What more names can you call me by? There will be no end if you tried to enumerate them one by one. It’s not just me, but probably all of you are living in the present, being called by numerous names. But I am not okay, not at peace at any moment, whichever name I am being called. Today’s Korean society not only can’t enact an anti-discrimination law, but discriminates against sexual minorities on a daily basis, throws rampant unfair criticism and hatred towards females, exploits the young generation, forces college students to be absorbed with employment instead of academics. Which name should I be called in order to be at ease? Someone asked us this. Are you guys Annyeong, whether we are doing well. That’s what I’m saying. Are we all well when we’re relieved that anothers’ pain is “not mine,†growing accustomed to closing our eyes and blocking our ears in order to protect our own lives? How well can we be in a cold-hearted world when it continuously presses us to give up empathy? I’m not saying that we all should pour out on the streets and start throwing stones. It’s just that, if this story of asking whether all of us living today are Annyeong (doing well) provides an opportunity to look into the face of the person next to you and call their name, I think this has been worthwhile. As the world becomes lonelier, I think, contrary to our belief, the way for us to become ‘well’ is nearby. Right now, please ask the person next to you, “Are you well?†From snowy Sungkonghoe University, Kim Eun-ha, Department of Social Sciences T/N: Annyeong: the literal definition of the greeting is ‘a state of tranquility’ T/N: 880,000 Won Generation refers to the demographic of Korea in their 20’s that suffered employment instability around 2007. Multiplying the average paycheck of part time workers, 1,190,000 won (1130 USD), by the average salary rate for people in their 20s, 73%, results in 880,000 Won. This is the first amongst many generations in Korea to play the “Game of the Winner Takes All.†This term was first used in the book 880,000 Won Generation, published in August, 2007. The author, Woo Suk-hoon says “Only the top 5% of people in their 20s will have a stable job above middle management and the others will live on part time employment with an average wage of 880,000 Won.†[naver encyclopedia/ MK Business News,news.mk.co.kr ] cr: @dustypixie718 Amazingly written

My Finger 871
Well I already gave my opinion on why I think Suho might be bi or gay. Now I want to know why some of you think he's straight. I don't think it's fanservice because they're not a popular pairing in the first place. Kaisoo is far more popular. Actually my Korean friend who only follows the Korean side of the EXO fandom had no clue about Kaisoo and said that Suho x D.O was more popular.
My Finger 871
So maybe Suho/D.O is more popular in Korea? I thought Kaisoo was really popular, at least with international fans. Suho/D.O being popular would make sense, but this doesn't change my mind. I don't think everything is fanservice. No, I think it's fanservice too. I mean Koreans aren't exactly known for their great gaydar and this could be a sign that they're just taking what's being fed to them.
My Finger 871
who are they? Bangtan V and Jin. (My dp ) I would spam Taejin here but I don't have time lol sorry. They're interesting separately especially like how Jin received stuff from his classmates (and his member's reactions) or V showering with his members, but I'm not sure about them together. 1

My Finger 871
I disagree, I think in all likelihood all members of EXO are virgins, or at least haven't gone past second base with a girl or boy. Their seems to be a common misconception on this thread and among international fans in general about how much sex Korean idols actually have. In reality most Korean teens and even young adults are actually virgins, unlike in the West. During their teens they literally never have the time to have sex because they are studying from 8am-10pm. Nor do they have an adequate space to perform the act given that their houses are usually smaller than Western houses- and kids are kept an eye by their parents a lot. Sex is more common and accepted in university, but there are still MANY Koreans who don't have sex until their mid or late twenties. Although having girlfriends and boyfriends is quite common in high school, having sex is usually not done until at least university age when they have more time and privacy. Oh, and there's also the added factor that Koreans are quite conservative and traditional, so casual sex isn't as common there as it is here. So yeah, I kind doubt that, considering EXO basically went from high school/training period straight to their debut, they were able to have sex in that time frame. And not to mention it's very difficult to have sex with someone when you share a small dorm with 5 other guys (11 if you include both EXO-K and EXO-M). I just wanted to clear this up because a lot of comments and jokes are made in the international fandom in general about Korean idols having sex, but they don't seem to understand that in Korea having sex isn't as common in young people as it is in the West or in other countries. That's why they have such a low teen pregnancy rate. EDIT: Forgot to add that there are love hotels and "massage parlours" that young Koreans can go to to have sex, but like I said it's usually used my older people, not younger ones. And considering how busy and popular EXO are right now, I doubt they will be visiting these types of places any time soon! Actually the average age for losing virginity in Korea is 13.6. My friend was talking about it to me today. She said thet her cousins skip school often, especially during middle school, before they have to start studying seriously for high school and the middle schoolers think it's the 'cool' thing to do. The rate has gone up 76% percent since 2010 1

My Finger 871
damn damn damn lmao anyways does anyone have an opinion/get a vibe on Seokjin from BTS? Me! Jin gives me the most vibes in BTS One thing that's interesting about J-Hope is that unlike most OTPs posted in here, he gives off a vibe. Do you guys have any others in BTS that ping for you? J-Hope is the only one that pings for me. Jin gives me more vibes than J-Hope does, but that could be because I try to avoid anything to do with vhope and I miss out on a lot. My Finger 871
I think Kaisoo is complete fanservice. I think they're both straight. While I think that Kaisoo's relationship is probably over analyzed by fans, I don't think they interact enough for it to be called fanservice. If it is fanservice, it's not really effective...especially with Korean fans.
My Finger 871
What do you mean it's not effective? Only international fans ship Kaisoo, and most of it is all bts interactions. SM has never really pushed the two together, and if it was it was probably a coincidence. Plus, Kaisoo isn't a very popular ship with Koreans. I know for a while Suho and D.O's ship was popular, but that was mostly Suho pushing himself onto Kyungsoo and Kyungsoo going along with it. 6
My Finger 871
What do you mean it's not effective? Kai said that originally they didn't get along, so maybe SM put them together so they could get along, since they're in the same group. That's part of why I think it's fanservice. I just think they're good friends. I don't think he ever said they didn't get along; Kai just said he was intimidated (I guess) by him. I think they're good friends but I don't think their ship is actively promoted by SM.
