GD - Bisexual / gay

TOP - Gay

Taeyang - Straight

Seungri - Straight

Daesung - Straight, tricky one to read, but I think he's straight.

 

I would love to hear other people's opinions on this.

GD- Gay or potentially bi.

TOP- Gay.

 

For Seungri and Taeyang, I'm undecided, but I personally don't think Daesung is straight. Whenever someone gets touchy or jokingly flirts with him he seems to get weirdly shy.

I have a hatred for media outing, but luckily it hasn't happened yet so I'm wondering how much time they actually have? I'd think the company would try to avoid it for a variety of reasons.

Thankfully it doesn't happen very often; the person will usually try to come out beforehand, just to avoid it being taken away from them, and the ones who do it are usually the media that everyone despises already. (in the US, TMZ actually has a no outing policy which is really nice.)

I can't remember anything specific, but if so I can certainly let you know! As for the weirdly part... I usually start getting a vibe not if someone is necessarily acting, say, effeminate, but by if they're interacting with someone, and how they're interacting, so it was probably times like that.

I also really want to ask, now that I've thought about it further myself.... why 'shy'? I mean, why is he appearing to be genuinely shy at all? Is he uncomfortable with fanservice, uncomfortable with attention, uncomfortable getting attention from certain people....

 

 

I'm laughing I just accidentally went from 'maybe' to 'probably' over my opinion of him.

I think that Daesung is a genuinely shy person that make himself to be opened and social. If you listen or read to what the other members say about him and how he live and all that, he act and live like a introspective person for me: only going out to have drinks very rarely, dress casual, have hobbies like reading,... So for me the moments that he get shy in front of another member (mainly TOP XD) it's because he haven't had enough time yet to get out of his natural shyness. Give him a couple more songs to dance and a few hyped moments and he'll be ok with everything 

 

 

I'm not too sure that it's just because he's naturally shy and reserved, especially since he has been in the industry for so long. But since it really is just my own personal opinion I really don't want to get into any fights or disagreements over it....

Sorry, but what would you expect of any man going into the South Korean military? They were being required to enter a homophobic environment where they could be kicked out for being gay or bi, which would not only be humiliating in itself but also potentially career-ruining. The fact that they're well-known as a ship (and one a lot of people believe) would of course make them nervous.

We have to remember what kind of environment they're in, and even as far as they do go, they (and any non-straight idol in kpop) can only go so far.

 

And once again, despite the denials, this still happened right before they enlisted, which should tell you that there was a disparity between what they were saying and doing on stage/in interviews and what was happening privately, especially considering how embarrassed Donghae seemed when they played it:

Thanks for chiming in about how it may look bad, in their culture and especially in their industry they really have no other choice except to go for a massive no homo before enlistment. If I was in their situation I would do the same, and it's also why I'm personally sure that if out of the few people I think could come out in the future if they want, none will do so until they're completed their military service.

 

I'd always sort of wondered about EunHae, but since I was never really part of the fan community I'd always brushed it off as myself reading too much into things/projecting.

YIKES I didn't know about Siwon tweeting anything homophobic but at the same time I'm not really surprised. Especially when he's always seemed Yes Homo when it comes to fanservice.

Also i'm kind of continuously curious over how despite the way the other members team up on Eunhyuk and say that he's the least attractive visually, he is always the one main one they all seem to like feeling up on stage, and it never manages to look awkward either. He's good at doing that type of fanservice, making it look natural, which they're all clearly aware of, and don't necessarily feel uncomfortable doing it with him.

And I can't remember where I was going with this but basically 1. Everyone loves Eunhyuk, and 2. Everyone also likes to touch him.

I like your reasoning.  Sehun has said that he "likes" boys or men in a joking way before and it's starting to come off as a hide-in-plain-sight ploy or this is just his brand of fanservice.  Basically it's really hard to tell when you don't know someone personally, imo.

 

It's less that I think he's joking, and more that I like to make sure for myself when if possible. I personally don't doubt that Sehun does like men (that is just my opinion though), although it definitely does remain to be seen if he will start to be less obvious or if they will try to play it off as you said, fanservice, or if he's gonna pull a Heechul.

 

I really really do want to see how the rest of the group reacted though because I've always found that to be more telling than anything else.

I have a huge amount of sympathy for Sehun right now- not just on what he's probably seeing on social media but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets in trouble and there is a quick turn around in his behavior in the near future.

 

My opinion after the day: he was fully aware of what he was saying (the stutter middway was really telling to me) and how it would be interpreted by some fans. The translation was accurate, and it did fit in context. So because of all that, I'm taking it seriously.

Imo it would be incredibly insulting to him to think otherwise, especially if the automatic assumption is that he meant it in a 'different' way (which, if he did, he could have easily said so), or that he was joking which I'm not even going to touch on.

Gaydar is definitely a thing (as much as i hate that word itself)- there's been a number of celebrities that i got a vibe off of when i was 12/13 only to find out later on that i was right. so now instead of just brushing it off as myself projecting i pay attention and try to avoid second guessing myself because heteronormativity is still a thing and all that jazz.

a lot of it has to do with how we see similarities in behavior and being able to relate to that behavior. not just the individual but how that individual also reacts to other guys as well.

 

its been a while since i read that media group couple, so i might be remembering details wrong but the five year thing i thought meant it had been a group five years or younger? knowing that it was exactly five years is kind of a weird detail unless thats how long the group has been around and therefore the longest the relationship could have been going....

For the blind item, I honestly have no good response to that. I don't feel comfortable taking even it itself as truth—all of a sudden, someone's OTP is real? Who doesn't want to believe it? (Why do people believe it in the first place?) But even if we assume that parts of it are true, that doesn't mean we have to accept that all of it is true. And especially if it is true, doesn't the person posting it have an incentive to confuse the issue?

 

As for Kaistal, I think it's fake whether Kaisoo is real or not. Here's a translation of a 2012 insider thread that predicts both Kaistal and Baekyeon. But I'm not one for predictions, and you're probably not either. So here's a post by a Kryber shipper (skip to the second response) that points out that the circumstances surrounding Kaistal are a bit weird. For example, why go to a restuarant Krystal and her sister were known to visit? And why do that in couple outfits and without masks? It's hard to imagine one idol—let alone two—being that careless. It's not as if they were unaware of the consequences of being caught. People have pointed out the huge difference between the Kaistal photos and the photos of Seolhyun, masked and running. There are a bunch of tumblr posts that attempt to prove that the Kaistal pictures were staged, and I can link you if you want, but I'm skeptical that it's provable just by looking at them. Of course, I imagine you're more skeptical than I am.

 

The couple outfits: I don't know of any except for what they wore on their date. If you could point them out, I'd appreciate it. I'm also pretty sure that the couple in the pool isn't Kaistal. I can't find proof besides people saying that it isn't them, and it doesn't look like Kai to me, but maybe someone has a link to something more substantial? Either way, kissing in a hotel pool surrounded by glass walls isn't the best way to keep your relationship under wraps, not any more than having your date at a restaurant you frequent is.

 

I do think it's harder to buy the idea that Kaistal is staged if you don't buy Kaisoo (or Kryber) along with it, but I don't think Kaistal being fake is dependent on either of those things.

Not sure how relevant it is, but despite not being deeply interested in f(x) I recall there have been rumors about Krystals own orientation for years- she's made neutral or outright suggestive comments several times. So that is something to keep in mind, but also I find it really weird that they were originally a 'couple' for some photoshoot. Not to be tinhatty but it really does give off a sort of promotional couple type vibe to me, and that's without speculating about Jongin or Kaisoo.

 

Don't think anyone even needs that hint lol. They look so intimate compared to the others. And I can actually name all of them now hooray.

 

I don't know, man. Maybe it's because it's 4 years after they debuted and I never bothered looking into these two before a few months ago, but I just don't get them. Sometimes they act in ways that are very intimate and other times they act very distant towards each other. That is confusing enough on its own, but the thing that gets to me most are these unsettling moments where they look afraid of someone watching them. I get that they're both private people, but that's another level of paranoia. 

 

I don't know why they bother me so much. 

Pretty much this. They also will do something that even with fanservice is kinda weird/unnecessary/makes absolutely no sense but when it comes to casually interacting with each other they do both seem paranoid.

There's a few that I think could if they wanted after their military service- doing so beforehand would be an extremely bad idea.

Anyone who has confidence they can survive the scandal socially and professionally. If we're going between now and the next four years, it's a pretty small list. Heechul is an obvious one, as well as Jokwon.

 

The thing is that someone is going to be outed or come out eventually.

 

It's a never ending circle. In order to help change public opinion, you need famous people in the public eye who are out, but it's dangerous to come out when there are no protections against discrimination from the public so not many people are willing to risk it.

I doubt that this is real. There's been members where apparently their manager didn't even know they were dating someone at the time. Even if one of them did bring a girlfriend/boyfriend, imo there's no way someone outside of the group and management would find out. Plus the entire trip is not exactly a lowkey 'let's be subtle' vacation.

It's really not that far-fetched that it could be fake, at least in my opinion. Junsu is..... hard to place? and this is after being a fan of his for years. For lack of a better way to say it, he comes across as really androgynous, not just in appearance but in his behavior as well. He doesn't do anything particularly effeminate, yet I wouldn't say his mannerisms are solidly masculine either.

 

 

 

Also, I've always wondered what was going on with that shirt the other members bought him that said 'sorry girls i'm gay'. There's always something that felt really off/strange to me about it, since it was clearly framed as a joke and yet all of their reactions seemed weird? Plus it was in '07 and it seems like a risky sort of thing to do just for laughs.
