Which male idols do you think are gay?

Hi! So I've been lurking this thread sometimes, and I love it. Although don't follow a lot the people you talk about. But what do you think about BEAST (they are the only ones I follow)? I mean, Hyunseung sometimes pegs me as gay, sometimes he acts very manly, so he maaaaay be bisexual. But I don't know. I'm a girl. I've only known two openly gays in my life. One looks like Zachary Quinto (he's very flamboyant and his gestures are very feminine) and the other one looks sort of like Taylor Lautner (didn't know he was gay until other people told me, and I was really surprised, cause his voice is very manly, his gestures are NOT feminine at all. But people say he may be a top). Can you tell me your opinions on BEAST? It's even possible Hyunseung is dating someone (he's always using his cellphone waaay too much and smiling and shit). It's difficult for me to identify gays in K-Pop cause 95% of male idols looks freaking gay to me.

Just to clear up a couple little misconceptions there, most gay men are masculine and have the same kinds of mannerisms as straight men. It has nothing to do with whether they're a top, bottom, or verse either, it's just because they're men and that's how most men are

 

I don't really have very strong opinions about BEAST, buuut... Yoseob is probably straight, Hyunseung and Dongwoon are probably gay, Kikwang is confusing but he got them DSL and that makes me want to say he likes the D (hooray stereotypes), and Doojoon I have no idea.

Oh, yes, I looked DSL online. Yes, Kikwang's lips are fire. And I just remembered, Dongwoon said in Showtime that Junhyung kissed him this one time they were drunk. So maybe Junhyung is bi? I mean, he was in a relationship with a girl from KARA a few years ago, so...

 - DongWoon : Hella Gay!

 - YoSeob : *

 - KiKwang : I hope he's gay , but I can't figure him out

 - JunHyung : Same with him. he gives me the GD,Zion.T ecc... Vibes.

 

 - DoJoon : Hella Straigth

 

 - HyungSeung : In good company with Dongwoon

 

 

* He is really flamboyant, and I know It doesn't mean anything, but his sudden change to a Muscular Masculine image, with claims like "I'm so manly" won't deceive me. I've always thought he was gay, and I won't change my pov. 

I recall the episode of "The Showtime" where each member brought his friend.

There was a segment where each member's friend started listing what they like about the beast member and things with Yoseob and his friend got SO Awkward.

Chenle's actually shown to be very open-minded about that type of thing (it was mostly in recent VLives though so maybe you just missed it). 

 

Other than that I agree with most of this, but I think Jaehyun's more likely to just be gay rather than bi. With regards to WinWin I'm currently leaning more towards the "straighter than straight" side, same for Mark, and Renjun has never pinged for me (+ you're also right about Doyoung being tragically straight rip)

 

Btw where did you get the "Haechan likes to make out with his members" thing?

Hi! Sorry for the somewhat late reply.

 

I posted this a while ago so I'm trying to remember which ones they were. I can tell you though that basically the gist was that he said that it's okay for guys to cry too, that being nicknamed 'princess' wasn't an insult, things like that. Guys, I'm getting into NCT lately and I just watched Ten's Dream in a Dream a couple of days ago. I suppose it was already discussed here, but I couldn't find anything, and I'm curious to know were there any negative comments or backlash, since the man in the video (I think it's Lucas, but it doesn't matter who he is) is clearly playing a love interest. I don't even see anyone commenting on that on YT below the video except for one "gay legend" comment.

 

It is Lucas. I mean, his profile, lips, hair, height... It´s him.

And yes, as soon as I saw it, is pretty obvious that Lucas is the "love interest" of Ten in the video. It´s so beautifully shot and edited, wow

For sure. A big part of Kpop idols' appeal / how they make money (both male and female) is their desirability; fans wanting to look at them, meet them, fantasize about them, etc. And although the majority of fans who are viewing and desiring male idols in this way + buying their albums and concert tickets, are women, the thing is that in contemporary culture we are so used to this type of gaze being pointed at women, by men, that when men are presented in this way it feels homoerotic. Which doesn't usually bother women (although imo they could be given more credit and agency for turning this type of gaze on men more frequently than our culture assumes), and works for the gays too so... win win I guess.

Neverheard but I think true or not true, this doesn't have anything with him being gay. He could be gay but still want to stay closeted because of the homophobic society.

Two years late, but I was reading what people had to say about NCT U "Without You" MV, and I see majority thinks Jaehyun and Taeil are in love with Doyoung's girlfriend. But doesn't it look like Jaehyun is in love with Taeil? And he's noticing Taeil has feelings for the girl? (Of course, to make it clear for potential misunderstandings, I'm talking about roles they play in the video, and the story)

Baekhyun: I hear you he's one of the most suspicious in exo . The things you listed might mean something but they also might mean nothing at all so i tried to not include those in my analysis , same with some statements that might be misleading because of language barrier  ( see Yuta's "Girl-boy thing" was taken as heteronormative , when it's just a way of speech in Korean and shouldn't be taken literally )

Jungkook : Yes , i think he had a hard adjusting to everything overall , i wouldn't put too much thought into the oppa thing because : 1-A LOT of gay men enjoy being called oppa and don't mind it even if it comes from female , it's after all just a formality . 2-I'm sure he just disliked being called that by older noona which is kinda of creepy if you think about it , he was just 15/16 after all .

 

Taehyung : He's such a free spirit i wouldn't be surprised if he was anything tbh , but just like Jin or Jhope i guess he never made me  raise an eyebrow i guess , and from what i heard i think he has the most dating rumors out of all the members in both Korean and Japanese communities  . I actually think he's an open book and doesn't actively try to hide what he's thinking , people are just too caught up on his unconventional personality .
