Kai said that originally they didn't get along, so maybe SM put them together so they could get along, since they're in the same group. That's part of why I think it's fanservice. SM has never really pushed the two together, and if it was it was probably a coincidence. Plus, Kaisoo isn't a very popular ship with Koreans. I know for a while Suho and D.O's ship was popular, but that was mostly Suho pushing himself onto Kyungsoo and Kyungsoo going along with it. I agree.
