Here's what I think, as someone who actually stans Exo:

 

D.O. — Hella heterosexual, and actually kind of homophobic. I remember the time Ivy Club magazine asked him who his favorite male artists were and he replied with, "I don't like males, so...." Now, clearly he was talking about sexually, because we all know he does in fact listen to male artists like Bieber, Chris Brown, and Musiq Soulchild. He just wanted to take the opportunity to set the record straight, because this interview was right around the time all of those posts were made on nate pann and NB about his male fanbase and how "D.O. turns guys gay". Also, let's not forget the times D.O. has literally weaseled his way out of Tao's grasp. It hasn't happened recently, but the gifs still speak for themselves. Like at Yoo In Na's Volume Up radio broadcast, Tao air humped pretty much everyone and tried to do it to D.O. but D.O. was like, "nah" and stepped back from Tao like he had Ebola. Or that infamous fancam at the Mnet Asia Awards where Tao put his hand on D.O.'s knee and D.O. ever so subtly removed it, lmao. And the time D.O. literally pushed Tao off of him with a grimace on Showtime. ahahahaaaaa.

as someone who actually stans Exo, you totally got that part wrong.

First it's Men's Style (yes it's important, I'll get to that later) and the question went more like this:

 

Q: What type of men do you find easiest to admire?

A: I don’t like men, so I don’t know~

 

If we keep in mind what magazine this is, I think it's logical to understand the question as "what kind of men you admire as in you look up to and consider as a model (in their fashion and style)", I don't think there is the slightest hint of any sexual/romantic meaning behind it and yet D.O answered it the way he did which is admittedly odd.

Now I am with you and completely understand how you take this as a sign of him being homophobic but it can also be interpreted as the answer of a closeted man trying to clear even the tiniest doubt about him swinging that way even if the question isn't about that to begin with.

But of course, some things might have been lost in translation so we never know for sure and all we have are subjective interpretations.

 

I personally don't think D.O is homophobic, I follow the guy oh so closely and I have yet to find something to prove me wrong. His relationship with Tao is probably due to his reserved personality that is not quite compatible with Tao's. While D.O is a generally polite person, sometimes he can't just hide it when he's irritated or doesn't like something, his sometimes judgmental and I-am-so-done attitude towards all of Exo is even a running joke in the fandom

since we are on the topic of kaisoo, romantic or not, they are close and comfortable with each enough for kyungsoo to pull jongin on his lap to hide his boner and for jongin to do just that without thinking twice

I, too, would bet money on GunHeeChul, they're practically married now. As for past pairings, I wanna say HanChul but I'm afraid it was mostly on Heechul's part.

In Exo, I'd say Kaisoo /cries TaoHun, there's definite attraction and tension between them they both are aware of but I'm not that sure about them being an actual couple

When Heechul got discharged from the Army,  Gunhee and him went to Singapore for vacation and Hee posted this pic and the saying on his Twitter.  At the time I was shocked that Hee was so blatantly coming out of the closet the same week he was discharged, but of course, the Korean media never paid attention to it. 

 

I also remember that a few days/weeks before getting discharged, Heechul said in Sungdong Cafe (the army radio program he DJ-ed for back then) that he would introduce the person he was dating to the public a week after being discharged or something along those lines (I'm preparing to go to bed, I promise to find the source asap). 

Idk why people dismissed this info and easily forgot about it because the only person Heechul introduced to us (though not a girlfriend obviously) is Gunhee. They were literally joined at the hip back then and we were flooded by Gunheechul everywhere. I personally took it as his way to tell us about Gunhee and the nature of their relationship without actually saying it.

 

My point is Heechul is extremely smart. It's true that he doesn't give a shit about what people say and that he will do/say whatever he wants but he's not stupid, he won't do it in a way that will affect him or affect SJ (he is still professional like that and wouldn't compromise his band no matter what). He can be blunt about certain things but he knows there are more sensitive topics so instead of outright saying them, he goes for subtlety, throwing in enough hints here and there for people to understand what he means or just take it at face value for people who might not accept the other meaning

I remember that, too. At first it confused me, but then I saw the pictures from their vacation and it all added up. HeeChul didn't even introduce us to him properly until after there were a bunch of photos of them acting all sickeningly lovey dovey floating around. >_>

Honestly, how are there people who still don't get it? The guy has practically outed himself in every way aside from saying the words "I'm gay and dating a guy." Apparently some people need it spelled out for them.

I always found Chensoo's dynamic undecipherable.  Like sometimes I wonder if Kyungsoo hates him yet I don't sense any hostility?

 

It's hard with only this example of Kyungsoo freezing up; we don't have anything to establish this as typical behavior.  I'm guessing he'd react a lot differently if this was say--Kai--but then again I don't think Kai would ever do something like this.

 

Anyway Jongdae needs to learn that it's not real fanservice unless there's tongue involved.

I remember seeing a gif recently of two guys, one of them was sitting on the other and the guy that got sat on had a major boner. They were surrounded by other members as well. It bothers me so much since I can't recall what that guy's name is or the group that he belongs to. Anyone knows? I keep on thinking it was someone in Team B aka IKON but I didn't get anything when I tried to search for it.

I don't think Heechul needs or even wants to come out. It will only bring negative attention to him (and SJ too) and he doesn't need that. 

He's already happy with what he has now. Never forget that celebrities are not in obligation to expose their personal lives to us, even less when it's a tricky situation like that of being gay in a rather homophobic country like Korea. Heechul understands all of this and yet he is honest enough to throw in hints without directly compromising himself and his group.

He's technically out while still staying on the safe side of never having made it official which is not ideal but the best that he could settle for at the moment.

 

I personally don't mind the lack of official coming out as long as he keeps being like this

Ah Do Kyungsoo, the mystery of the century tbh

I've been following Exo closely since debut and I still can't figure him out, he's so low key about everything it's almost impossible to read him.

However, I think it's more or less safe to assume he at least likes girls if the predebut accounts (aka the only element of information I have on him) about a previous girlfriend are anything to go by. They seemed legit coming from rather reliable sources but he might as well be interested in other genders too for all we know /shrugs

oh but I agree with you, it doesn't prove anything, I only brought it up because it's literally the only reliable information we have on him.

he might have dated her because he's straight and he genuinely liked her or because he is gay and he was in denial about his sexuality or maybe he just swings both ways and she happened to be the person he liked back then.

This is like EXO's "from the dawn of time" ship...it's nice to see that these two are still 9000 adorable. I think we need more KaiSoo on this thread. They seem to confuse everyone. This can only be a good thing.

 

I'd love to talk more about them but even I don't trust myself to keep a rational reasoning while discussing them since I'm such a huge shipper and I'm aware this isn't the purpose of this thread.

Besides their interactions (or "moments") are so subtle, they're both so discreet it's more of a feeling I get from them than an actual evidence I can easily pinpoint /sighs

I think "tolerance" of lesbians has a lot to do with the self-indulgent nature of patriarchal societies. It's no secret straight men get turned on by woman-on-woman action and just for that they might turn a blind eye to it or be less judgmental about it. It's more for their own pleasure than out of actual respect to these women's sexual identity/orientation. I remember reading somewhere the argument of a straight man explaining why they like it, he said that in his mind it's what women do while waiting for the man to come and give it to them. It's not about the women themselves and their own satisfaction, in his head it's always and ultimately about the man, everything they do is to be ready for the man. I found this quite revolting because it shows that they don't even entertain the possibilty of women not needing a man to cater to their needs. This also explains why straight men only "accept" lesbians within the realm of fantasy (like porn) but when faced with real life lesbians, their first reaction, more than disgust or hostility, is to make fun of them and shrug them off completely because they can't take them seriously

 

But ofc not all men are like this, I'm just thinking of it as a part of the problem...
