lunaandartemis 2,813
Question to users on this thread: On hong suk chun...Isn't is risky (in Korea) that male idols would take pics with him as he is openly gay? Ofc dont get me wrong that they can be his friend but im wondering if everyone/most has established that it doesnt matter? I'm talking more like personal pics too. do u think ppl in korea speculate on those said idols once they seen their connections with hong suk chun?? ex: hongki inviting him to his WGM wedding...him hanging out with jaejoong often..him and heechul r close.. ive realized if no one cares then this is a big step for korea and wish more ppl would coe out seeing as how many friends hong suk chun actually has and how many idols take pics with him! sorry if this has been discussed before his birthday party touching their hips ok lol as a korean i can tell you that probably not bc everyone i know actually loves him i know people that are like "i don't support gays" but they love hong seok cheon, which yes is a lovely big step (netizens may talk crap now and then but i'm from seoul and i've never heard a bad comment about him ever only praise especially on his bravery) so it's not really "risky" for idols to do that however on the subject of who the people taking pictures with him are,,, so many people are friends w him that this doesn't apply for all people of course... but i would keep an eye out for those that hang around w him quite often, thats all im going to say
lunaandartemis 2,813
Yeah, that's kinda the impression I get too. It's an odd mix of liking him as an entertainer, not supporting his lifestyle, and admiring his bravery and persistence I think the people that hang out with him a lot are probably part of the gay/bi-line (which seems to include a few allies too). Well you never know yep more idols are queer than you think lol 4
lunaandartemis 2,813
I doubt that tbh Most of them do imo, but that's probably because I don't like the drag queen aesthetic. They're like cartoon-esque showgirls do you know why i got negged
lunaandartemis 2,813
I think you got negged cuz you used the word Queer. There's people that dont like that word because in some part of the world is still seen as offensive. think that's why oh really?? i know it can be used as a slur (i' really sorry if i offended anyone!!!) but in both parts of the world where i've lived it's been used as a positive word just to describe the whole spectrum aka like "LGBT+".. its a word that actually helped me a lot when i was "questioning" i apologise though

lunaandartemis 2,813
I'll post here to make it easier for you guys to read (it's short): (As I was translating this post, the original post on Instiz got deleted and the entire content including K-netizens' comments were all wiped out. I only 2~3 lines left to translate the post so I have the full blind item translated but no K-netz' comments)-Instiz: April blind item Member A is from a famous boy group for their synchronized choreographies. The fans had suspected him to be gay or transgender, but it was eventually forgotten because his celebrity career went well for a long time. But he eventually came out as gay to his group members. Surprisingly, the members and staff had already suspected him to be gay since he was a trainee due to his obvious behavior, so they weren't much surprised. lunaandartemis 2,813
Hanryu, why do you care so much about how people identify anyways? It's not like it's harming you in any way. You just seem to get so offended when anyone mentions asexuality or nb people or basically anything that doesn't fit into your own experiences and definitions. I think you need to open up your mind a little bit more. Even if you don't 'believe' in a certain identity, there are still many people out there to whom that label is valuable in identifying their own experiences and feelings. Who are you to say that they're wrong? thank you so much for this. just reading those comments that was so triggering 2
lunaandartemis 2,813
Can we drop this topic? Two reasons: 1. there are trans people reading this thread (that includes nb people) 2. it's not what this particular thread is for I really hope I don't sound rude I just.. 8
lunaandartemis 2,813
someone said Jihope? Its really hard for me to read BTS. They are really close, always touchy, sometimes say interesting stuff (esp Suga). If i were to choose the most "unstraight" ones i would say Suga and Jin. Why Jin? xx (I don't follow BTS so I have no idea just generally curious, bc I hear about Suga a lot from Twitter/Tumblr/etc but not Jin so just wondering)
lunaandartemis 2,813
All I can think is that Mark is actually a really accepting person, but I'm VERY new to Got7 but that's the feeling I get. Especially as it seems his sister MIGHT be a lesbian? I say might because she never actually said it, although the tag #finallyarealcitizen (or something like that, I can't remember exactly) when talking about California legalizing gay marriage DOES hint towards it. So I think he'd be more open to the *possibility* of being with a male, especially because he WAS raised in America... of course, that doesn't say much, but it does say much to the fact with how comfortable he's gotten with skinship cause we Americans, at least American boys, from what I've seen, if they're straight, they're not kissing their male's best friend's cheek as often as Mark kisses Jr.'s cheek, lmao So either being around ALL that skinship that idols are kinda...pushed into doing (as I've come to learn THAT LEVEL of skinship still isn't exactly normal in Korea thanks to the people in this forum)--to me, just says something about how accepting of a person Mark would be. Which brings me to when Jackson said, very seriously, if guys can be with guys on WGM. I do think Mark was just trying to help Jackson out, cause Jackson didn't really realize the implications of that sort of question, when being as serious as he was being... she is atleast i'm pretty sure she said it once
lunaandartemis 2,813
Key likes Lady gaga alot but i still think he`s gay The difference is I think key wants to be Lady Gaga How can anyone think Sehun is straight just because he likes A female singer? That's so ridiculous. Do you know how big of a gay following Lady Gag, Madonna, Celine Dion, Christina Aguillera etc have? And how can anyone think Gunhee or Lady Hee is straight?? lol, I'm a huge little monster and Key reminds me so much of my best friend. he loves gaga and thinks she's beautiful and fangirls so much yet he's gay but i'm sure everyone here knows fangirling over someone of another gender doesn't mean your straight ~ i've actually seen like a couple of times key stans on twitter who keep trying to convince other fans he's straight pull the "he likes this and this female idol, he likes lady gaga etc" card but that makes me laugh bc....... there are people here in korea that like gaga because she's "quirky" or just for her music. but as far as being a hardcore fan/"little monster", it takes up a lot of korea's gay community. i know lots of young lgbt people (in korea) who look up to gaga as she's known to be a "gay icon" and advocAte (and i've also noticed lately a lot of people are interested in sam smith) and i honestly think its bc we have no "idols" or people to say "you were born this way" (lmao) so we seek that in international stars irrelvant but isn't nuest's ren really obsessed with gaga? i follow him on sns and he posts lyrics of hers all the time. i don't follow nuest at all but he seems adorable i wanna stan
lunaandartemis 2,813
We also have to remember that this is all speculation. If there were any real evidence, then we wouldn't be speculating and all of Korea would know, too. We go by hints and perception, and a "feeling". So those asking for evidence................... exactly this whole thread is FOR speculation like otherwise this thread wouldn't exist if we all knew, like..... and either a) sasaengs or b) fellow lgbt people who are very social already know more than anyone on this thread but neither of the would ever out them or give receipts bc they don't want to damage their idols image or they don't want to "out" anyone bc they understand them and respect their lives. even a lot of cishet people in korea understand the concept of outing and the consequences

lunaandartemis 2,813
Police reject LGBT application for pride parade South Korea’s Pride Parade has been rejected by the Namdaemun Police Station and Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency due to pressure from conservative groups according to the Korea Queer Cultural Festival’s (KQCF) organising committee. The Pride Parade originated in Seoul in 2000 with only 50 people attending. Last year around 20,000 people attended. However, for the first time in Korean history non-affirming church groups blocked the pride parade in 2014 causing major traffic jams and tension between the Christian groups, the LGBT members and the community. “This is the sixteenth year of the Pride Parade and last year the hate groups started to try to ban sexual minority groups,†Yun Candy said. “Mostly they are conservative Christians, they came to our pride parade and sat in front of our parade and stopped it for five hours,†she said. A police officer at the Namdaemun Police Station claims that they rejected the application because they expected a major standoff between LGBT and Christian groups. This is why you can't have nice things, Korea. Hey guys!!! As you probably know, homophobic organizations in South Korea have been fighting every way they can to stop the Pride Parade in Seoul this year, and the police are siding with them and making it easier for them every step of the way. :( But there's a petition going around to retract the ban on the parade!! Please sign it, it'll only take a minute, and hopefully it helps ;A; <3 haha ty h0neanias for posting an article about the actual conflict, good timing :D I know it's off topic but thank you both for posting about this. It means a lot to people like me !!! :( Even political parties are speaking out about it now. I can try and keep you guys updated if anything happens/changes. Atleast we're not giving up, people are still working on it!! Topp Dogg thank you Edited June 2, 2015 by lunaandartemis
lunaandartemis 2,813
That's awesome!! I'm glad people are speaking up, it's a discussion that needs to be had. are you in SK too? I'm here for teaching (I'm relatively new) but ugh, this whole situation is frustrating. Hopefully we figure something out!! <3 yes i am, i'm a native haha <3 i lived in england which is why i speak english and still go back and forward from korea to england depending on family, work and stuff. i'm hoping that too!! it's just disappointing because the years before it was running so smoothly. last year's was the first time i went (i'd came out by then) and it didn't go well. like, the situation is meant to be getting better not worse >.> plus, i know tons of people who want to go, not just lgbtq people but tons of allies too. so there'd be so many more supportive people but it had to turn out like this hmph
