Which male idols do you think are gay?

Random thoughts on ZB1:

• I'm confused as to why many people seem to think Jiwoong is straight? I'm not saying anyone who play a gay character must be gay but Jiwoong is an idol, not a trained actor with experience, and his role involved a kissing scene that many straight guys would be uncomfortable shooting. In my opinion he is either gay (likely) or particularly open minded and comfortable with his sexuality (less likely but possible) 
• I just read about Zhang Hao's heterophobic Weibo post and it absolutely made my day, I love him even more now
• I would not worry too much about those rumors supposedly outing Zhang Hao or any other member. Companies are really good at burying this kind of stuff. Yuehua has done it for Wang Yibo before.
• I agree that they probably won't push the Haobin CP because it's "too gay" and it will trigger solo fans. No way it's real though

Of course I cannot be 100% sure but in my opinion: they would not do that much fanservice. Because it would be risky to bring attention to their relationship, and also because it might feel awkward? It’s one thing to be open about your sexual orientation with those close to you but it’s another to be very affectionate towards a partner in front of cameras, knowing that everyone will see it (public, colleagues, family…) 

I’ve often pondered this question before (“is it possible that 2 members from the same group have something going on?”) and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s possible but:

1. They would avoid PDA in front of cameras
2. If their company knew, they would probably discourage of it, and certainly not push for fanservice
3. The group would need to have more than one gay member, which is maybe not that common

The third point is of course irrelevant to Boys Planet haha. But anyway I'm pretty sure Zhang Hao and Hanbin are just playing up their friendship.

Ah, 10 years already? I remember posting here back in the day to discuss EXO and INFINITE...I tried to find my former account to have a good laugh but I think it was deleted. 

Anyway I was never very active but I liked reading everyone’s opinion. I came back recently to check the thread because of BP and I wasn't disappointed:)

This is the kind of stuff I'm here for. Seriously, you know there is something suspicious when fans start to get upset and throw "attention seeking" accusations. And of course it's followed by some clarification that they're not gay. I don't know if these two were just friends or more but I would not be surprised if Suga had dated guys before... I think he and J-Hope are the most likely to be lgbt in BTS.

I really don’t think Sehun is straight. 

Remember when Chen supposedly outed him during a radio show by saying he would not want to date him if he was a girl? People freaked out because Chen mentioned that the problem with dating Sehun was related to being “the opposite gender”, then both Xiumin and Ryeowook laughed before Ryeowook ended the conversation for “privacy reasons”. At that time I thought it made no sense for them to say this kind of stuff carelessly if Sehun was gay so I came to the conclusion that it was just a joke or a misleading translation. But looking back, it was definitely a ??? moment. And there have been many others with Sehun, just on the top of my head:

- “He is not interested in girls”
- “I like male fans…I like…men..."
- Jokes about using his face to swindle people, then clarifies "not women"
- That awkward moment during MAMA 2015 when Seungri sat on his lap (it was not planned, and I don't know if Seungri did it on purpose but to me it really looked like Sehun was dying of embarrassment)
- He picked up a question asking him if he was gay during a live (around 1:55). Of course he answered no but his reaction was kinda funny and really doesn’t match the “Sehun is tired of people asking him if he's gay!!!!” narrative that I've seen around. 

And finally, that older guy he was always hanging out with around 2016/2017. Maybe they were just friends but it was a bit suspicious. The fact that shippers had a meltdown over it (1,  2) is very telling. 

edit: I forgot to mention Sehun's friendship with Donghae. I'll post about Donghae later, I'm curious about people opinion on him.

Donghae and Yoona were a popular CP back in the day but I don't think they ever dated. They're probably just friends.

I just did a quick search and the most recent "evidence" of them dating is that they were seen at a concert together in 2018. The pictures are edited to make it seem like it's just the two of them but in reality Shindong and Eunhyuk were just next to them. Doesn't look like a date at all but people will take anything as proof when it comes to female idol/male idol couples...

Donghae is among the few 35+ male idols who have never been in an official relationship/involved in a scandal with a woman, and I haven't heard any serious rumor about him dating since a very long time. But if you know anything interesting, please share. I'm genuinely curious.

I know the idea that he might be gay is unpopular. Personally I think he is one of the most suspicious members in Suju but people overlook him because they're too busy focusing on other members doing fanservice and acting girly (the same members who end up dating women).

I usually don't pay much attention to idols wearing rainbow clothes but these ones are interesting because it seems to be personal items (and they are from pride collections, it's not some random rainbow). Pretty sure I've seen him with other pride stuff but I didn't save the pictures.

Here you can see he used the pride filter during an insta live.

Coincidentally, Sehun also used this filter when he did a live with Chanyeol.

And the funny part: the default one is called 'LGBTQ+ Pride' but they both choose the 'Gay Pride' one. 

At this point Sehun might just be trolling but Donghae? he is super religious so I find it hard to believe that he would associate himself with the gay community as a joke.

They were quite close before Donghae's enlistment. If one of them is gay I would not be surprised if the other was too, especially given that Donghae is 8 years older so their friendship was a bit out-there. 

Also I find it particularly funny that Sehun posted a picture like that on social media: 

It's like he was tired of fans pairing him with every other EXO member so he just decided to ship himself with Donghae (joking)

About Gong Jun: I'm not super familiar with him but I know that a lot of people think he looks stereotypically gay and there were rumors of him being in a relationship with an older guy from his company (probably fake, however judging by the guy's Weibo posts he was gay and close with Gong Jun, and he ended up resigning from his job because of the rumors so...)

About Tao: it's been a while since I've heard about him but he's not gay I'm pretty sure. He has been spotted with his girlfriend many times.

About Wang Yibo: it's true that there was something going on between him and Xiao Zhan during The Untamed filming. The production company did them dirty because after the promotion ended they sold a ton of new behind-the-scenes footage to fansites with zero regard for their privacy, and well...it’s not like they were making out in front of the camera but it’s obvious that there was more to their relationship than just getting along well on set. (honestly people who claim that it was all staged haven't seen more than a few clips and are totally clueless about China's idol industry. The footage is hours long, you can hear them swear, make sexual jokes, complain about the filming, complain about the cameras, there are ugly close-ups of their faces without makeup...nobody would do that as a marketing strategy. There is a reason why they never acted like that in public.)

Anyway Yibo is very obvious about the fact that he is interested in men, it boggles my mind that people think he is straight because he likes racing and skateboarding and hip hop...

edit: guys what do you need to believe a male celebrity is gay? A video of them sleeping with another man with an official statement from their company? It's ridiculous at this point.

Well there are gay celebrities who are in bearded marriages but they're much older. (and it's not a requirement, some 40+ male celebs have been single forever and nobody really cares: Kim Jongkook, Gong Yoo...)

Taehyung could be bi or gay, it would still be true that he's dating Jennie.

I agree that Kim Jongkook is super gay even though he denied it (who wouldn't). KJK/Song Jihyo cp fans make me cringe for that reason. 

EXO confuse me. I already talked about Sehun and why I believe he's gay but other than that, no idea. I know people often mention Suho but why? is there any hint/possible evidence?

Regarding the current discussion, I don't want to sound overly negative, but I believe many people underestimate the extent of fanservice in Kpop. Everybody knows that fans love witnessing cute interactions between members (whether they interpret them as romantic or not) and Kpop companies have always capitalized on this for their marketing strategies, sometimes even pushing specific couples (see what SM did with Yunjae for example). Idols also undergo PR training, keep tabs of what is being said about them on social media, and are fully aware of fans likes and dislikes.

Most of the time what you see on camera is just what they want you to see.

This is not to say “these idols are all straight guys doing fanservice!!” (I agree that there is a fair share of gay idols) or “everything you know about them is fake!!” (because nobody can fake their persona 100% of the time). But honestly, I don't think it's worth spending time analyzing all those cuddly and flirty moments between bandmates in variety shows or any official content...

That being said, I have no doubt that there are male idol/male idol couples. It's just that, regardless of their sexual orientation, most celebrities are protective of their private life and relationships. I do agree with you @pyunkangyul regarding matching social media posts because obviously some celeb couples do this. Same goes for matching clothes/accessories. However, being super affectionate in front of cameras is a whole different level that not many people would be comfortable with, in my opinion. Of course, one could argue that gay couples are protected to some extent since everything they do will be labeled as fanservice or bromance, but it's still unnecessary risky? The more you act like a couple, the more attention it puts on your relationship and any potential slip-up you might have (imagining having your every interaction scrutinized by shippers...way too stressful)
