Hi, new user here!! I've been reading the bogum and taehyung posts about their friendship and the cult after the celine announcement but I have yet, to see an actual interaction between them besides a few glances and words in the celine show. I know it was reported that they met during bogum military service but watching their interactions today, idk, I feel like they're not longer that close, or at least not as before. I was waiting for a selca but it has been days of them being in Paris and nothing, nada. What do yall think?

after reading more about hyoshin, he's by far one of the most interesting artists to discuss in this thread cause that man did have gay rumours in korea

now, his more interesting relationship is with musical genius jung jaeil, you probably dont know his name but that man has an impressive discography, he made parasite ost and has collaborated with some of the biggest korean artists like iu and lyw so both share the passion and talent for music, so it's no wonder how they became friends and worked together in so many songs. they met during military service (jaeil took care of him and never left him while he was very sick) and since then they became very close, he was part of hyoshin lovers tour and if you watch their interactions  in the concerts you can notice the amazing chemistry they have. hyoshin is usually the one that starts their skinship cause between the two, jaeil is the shyest afshfklñs they've been in some shows together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsWWkuqXqOg they also have a nickname for each other but i dont remember them

while i was searching on naver/google i was kinda surprised cause there were many blogs about his gay rumours, he's not yoo ah in level but unlike some idols that are discussed here that have no rumours in korea, his name is mentioned a lot with other celebrities. and yeah, maybe these two men were just his friends but he's forty, with already known gay rumours and his only het dating scandal was with an actress that went to his musical and that he didnt even remember and it was proven false the next day after it broke out so to me it's kinda obvious the answer

at some point i thought that maybe he and tae were more than friends cause since their first interaction, the way they acted was clearly very different from their other friends, soultrees (hyoshin fans) were surprised cause it was the first time they heard him sing in a while and in no other than in a member of the biggest boyband instagram but after his dating scandal with jennie,  im not sure anymore. anyway, it's still obvious that their friendship is very special, hyoshin rarely post on instagram with other people, the last time he shared a picture like this with another guy was with jaeil

I don't think anyone in BTS have anything going on in between them. They are just super comfortable with each other and have known each other for a very long time.

In BTS I think Jungkook, Jin and RM are the people who might fly under the radar. Obviously we can't tell for sure.

 

 

sometimes i wonder if what he felt for namjoon at the beginning was just admiration or an actual crush, according to army translators he literally said he fell in love with him and i know that it might be fanservice but because of how heteronormative korea and the world is, maybe he knew most fans would take it just as a joke 

 

 

in a festa he said that in his eyes, namjoon was really handsome and so cool and i dont know if it's because namjoon isnt the affectionate type (at least not like maknae line) but he looked so uncomfortable that he didnt know how to answer back 

and i havent seen anyone talking about this but 18 years old jungkook was listening to years&years memo (a very gay song)

so people here were wondering about kang dong won and what i found is a reminder that international fans sometimes dont know anything about the rumours in korea cause that man has rumours of being gay for years, like almost since he started his career and he had already address it once in an interview, but i dont see anyone talking about it?? something interesting is that he and hyoshin are friends, who also has a lot of gay rumours and im not saying they're dating but well, its certainly interesting to know they're friends

this isnt entirely true, a lot has to do with how you market yourself, let's take lee jung jae and jung woo sung as an example. lee jung jae started his career as a model, then became an actor and in the 90s he was so popular, like really really popular mostly because of his looks, his fanbase consisted of women but having a lot of female fans never stopped him from dating celebrities and it never risked his career cause as he grew older his movies were more serious and the general public started respecting him as an actor, similar with jung woo sung, who also has a dating history and was praised because of his looks when he was young and even now. they were popular with women, but they still dated celebrities and they never lose their fans, in fact, if you watch their fansings you can see them doing fanservice and fans going crazy doesnt matter the fact that both are in his 50s and one of them is married, so it's really different let's also consider that actors now and back then arent treated the same but well, as someone whos fan of olders actors who do fanservice but are also married or dating someone i dont see that having a partner was a problem in their career?? i think no one cares if they arent married but if they never had a dating scandal in the past?? that would be suspicious and isnt very common with older actors, they have at least an ex or something

In case people don't understand that the first part is a semi joke (you guys really are running with that incel thing, good lord), very few fans in Korea actually think these two men are straight these days. There's a couple of truthers but this simply isn't really a correct categorization. 

I don't think it's helpful to do the "fans even think so and so is straight" routine. At some point you have to accept that unless an idol has done things that are undeniably gay, people are going to have differing opinions. Someone saying Moonbyul is straight is delusional considering her single from this year, someone saying Taehyung doesn't seem gay when the evidence is...far less convincing...has an opinion (not to mention he's clearly had a girlfriend and they seemed happy together and that's lovely). I think if you can't hear alternate opinions without getting aggressive, you probably need to question your own biases and feelings. The idea that a celebrity you like might actually just be straight shouldn't make you angry. If it does, that's a you problem. This happens over and over and over again where fans convince themselves a member of a group is gay, he isn't, and then they hate him or they create conspiracy theories about his real life women partners (always delving into blatant misogyny) in order to cope. It's not healthy and its not fair to any of these celebrities. You should NOT be angry that any celebrity you like could be straight, if the idea makes you angry, you need to reflect. It's weird.

As a further point to the person on another page, where did I say Taehyung is queerbaiting? I didn't. I don't believe in the concept of queerbaiting for real life people! However, the fact that YOU decided anyone who thinks he isn't gay MUST thinking he is baiting says a lot about how you approach him and view him and how entitled you are over real life human beings. Kpop is all about fanservice, you can't be angry at any idol for selling a product when they don't exactly hide it. If Taehyung is straight or predominantly attracted to women (the amount of biphobia in people having a breakdown over me saying he could be bi with a female preference...), he isn't queerbaiting. He hasn't done anything to "bait" you other than watching some films and not being a homophobe. 

On statistics, I have a bachelors degree in the area so...lol. Of course, and I literally said this but again, many of you are reading and replying in bad faith, it's not IMPOSSIBLE for a 7/7 group to be gay. But it's borderline impossible in that it is so vastly improbable it's a silly thing to argue. If you randomly select seven people from the broader population, of course you could select a gay majority. It can happen! However selecting 7 people who are all LGBT identifying is highly, highly unlikely and the reality is, people only want it to be true because of confirmation bias and wishing all seven of their BTS oppas liked men. It's simply not reality. 

i guess people thought that cause of the harry styles comparison that can be understood as an euphemism for queerbaiting considering how harry styles is considered and labeled as the queerbaiter king, i dont know

the only het scandal he had was denied in less than a day and his company basically said "celebrities often go to see his musical and take pictures with him, doesnt mean he's dating all of them and that he didnt even know her". they tried so hard to rumour him with a girl only to get this response

if you're talking about gay dating scandal, he had one with an actor friend to the point that they had to deny it in a tv show and well, you also have the rumours with jung jaeil

i think someone asked about sukku before and i found out he was in a podcast where he talked about brokeback mountain. i know that liking an lgtb movie doesnt automatically mean someone is lgbt but what made me go  is that he said it was his favourite movie of all time and used to play it on loop while doing chores, like he was obsessed with and it means a lot to him so its not just "i think this movie is good because of this reason". he is rumoured to have a girlfriend tho and looks kinda real so idk

since is taehyung birthday i wanted to mention that time he did a vlive and there was a spanish song playing and i instantly knew he watched happy together (or at least became a fan of the ost) because weeks later i found this happy together ost playlist on youtube and im pretty sure this was the video he was playing on vlive, it has the same version of the songs and the same order and the channel is korean so

i remember i few years ago i used to be obsessed with leslie cheung and while watching his interviews and seeing his pictures i thought of how similar he and taehyung were, so it was funny how years later taehyung started posting about him on his social media because they do have many similarities, that and other stuff taehyung has done that has already been said countless times on this thread made me believe he is bi, i dont know why gay and straight are the only options for some people, even in queer spaces, there is a huge bi erasure cause when people started talking about leslie after taehyung posted about him a lot of queer fans referred to him as a gay man when he was actually bi so fans reactions after the dating news were expected because they have always ignored the fact that he has moments where he showed his interest in women and that doesnt change the fact that he could be queer, it doesnt erase it at all

my limited knowledge of the entertainment industry has shown me how a lot, a lot of celebrities are queer even the ones people believe are straight, this happens a lot in hollywood, despite the industry being more inclusive compared to koreas, there is a lot of celebrities that are queer and will never say it for many reasons, if people knew how many of their favs are queer the industry will crumble, they are just not prepared for that, its funny when some homophobic people think there's like two queer idols cause im pretty sure is the other way around

When i see these older men with no record of public hetero dating in close relationships with handome guys i think it's kinda natural to suspect them. Kpop fans follow these idols but act as if they knew nothing about the Korean society and discrimination their faves could face if they said what was on their mind. Not sure if you all heard about it but shippers had a meltdown because El Capitxn was a guest on Yoongi's radio, appeared in his documentary, posts photos of him with a heart, liked a tweet translating their conversation from the radio on Twitter, stays in the same hotel as him, and since he's responsible for the sound system during his tour, he attends all concerts and schedules. Yoongi saying they lived in Yoongi's house for a week and calling him a person that completes him/his other half musically was their limit. According to their logic people's sexuality is decided by their opinion only. Reminds me of Taekook shippers who can't believe Tae could be bi because "he can only be attracted to Jungkook" (...)

If you want to know more about the relationship between Yoongi and El Capitxn and this drama, it all started in 2018 when El Capitxn was still "JPearl", joined BH and was revealed to have worked on Ddaeng. K-Fans found a post on his Instagram where he posted a cut from the MV teaser of "Idol" MV showing Yoongi's part only with a caption that was written in a slang, calling Yoongi "oppa" in a sexual way. They spammed his Insta comments asking him to delete because they were "afraid of rumors spreading about his sexuality". He edited the caption and then deleted it. Later he posted a video showing Yoongi's part during Ddaeng rehearsal (both posts are gone). After that he called Yoongi an angel for gifting him expensive music software.

Yoongi taking a photo of Yijeong as soon as he wakes up and Yijeong reassuring him that they'll do well as usual (when Yoongi was worried). Can't share videos because they got blocked on Twitter.

6. When a celebrity follows Yoongi on a particular day, they usually follow Yoongi at the same time (examples: Jung Yong Hwa - Yoongi gifted him his album that day, Paul Kim - Yijeong produced a song for him but Yoongi wasn't in the credits) 

7. Yoongi said the first song they worked on was 'We don't talk together' and its original title was 'With Yijeong' because he liked it so much.

11. Posted a photo of Yoongi with a heart in a caption, posted about Jimmy Fallon apperance, posted a photo of Team Suga including himself and 3 photos showing the hotel he was at. According to some fans it's "attention seeking".

12. Yijeong reacting to shippers sending him "Yoonpearl" messages (I feel second hand embarrassment when people do such things but well, it needs to be added here). Soon after he changed his username on Instagram and the name he was using as a producer. After that we only saw him in the credits of almost all Yoongi's songs but they didn't mention each other for nearly 5 years (except for one small mention by Yoongi during vlive). THANKFULLY now Armys are taking care of all weird comments on Yijeong's Insta so the situation probably won't repeat itself..

Basically this sums up how kpop fans and shippers act  Yet they dismiss everything here because Yijeong said he liked girls after people started implying during a live that he and Yoongi were together. What else could he do in that situation? He knew it was the only way people didn't spread rumors about them. Of course, all these things I listed might not mean anything other than a good friendship but they also don't prove that Yijeong is straight.

on bearding, i honestly doubt it. kpop idols aren't even supposed to date publicly anyway so what would they get out of doing it? most of the gay ones can just stay single in the public eye their entire career and most people won't bat an eye or actually investigate why that is seriously

not directly about taehyung but what queer celebrities go through in the entertainment industry and what they decide to do about their persona is more complex than what many of us might believe, i remember kate winslet talked about how some of her friends are queer but will never say it publicly and one would think since hollywood is more accepting of queer people, those men wouldnt lose their career so there's no reason for closeted hollywood celebrities existence but there's many factors that come into play maybe them being gay would have an impact depending on how they were marketed, two artists can be very succesful and famous and yet, a news like that would impact differently in their career, maybe it's a personal decision, maybe they want to make it clear they're not lgbt so there is no room for speculation or maybe they think it's convenient for their popularity, there's so many reasons, not every queer celebrity will do the same and just not date anyone

all the stuff i've found about celebrities in my country has kinda opened my eyes to this kind of stuff, its not like you have to act like a larry or something but bearding is common, some male celebrities get married and have families despite being gay and you wouldnt even guess it!!
