Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm not good at English like I said. But does someone really think they are gay? Like... Anyways what I meant is that they are dating, so obviously they aren't gay, and especially exols who want Kai to date Kyungsoo or some shit like that, can't change the fact that Kai likes girls. We don't know if he likes guys too, maybe he does, but he has proven that he isn't gay. Get my point? Now goodbye, some ppl (exols) in this thred are just...anyways. Oh, I'm also gonna say this: I don't think mediaplay relationships are common in kpop. I can understant how Baekyeon could've been fake and why ppl think they were, but still... just why? Doesn't make much sense. (Poor Taeyeon, I'm glad exols have matured) So I just accept the fact that they dated. The idols literally sell the image that they are always single & are only there for their fans to get fangirls and money. Especially SM does this (YG not so much). How many times have you seen idols say their fans are their girlfriends, that they aren't dating etc? Exactly. And when u look at the other couples exposed by Dispatch, I'm sure most of them were legit. Jennie and Kai are both good looking, nice and great ppl so no wonder they fell for each other. Maybe you should support them (even if u think they're fake or not) instead of trying to speculating them to be fake or something? Delulu kpop fans logic: my (gay) ships are real even if I don't have proof!!!11 Confirmed couple: they are fake af!!! Ppl are shit. Don't @ me.

Sry for my English, don't twist my words.

Who are you trying to teach on this thread lol?

JenKai is real, we know, please move on.

About Taehyung and others,

Yes, Taehyung said that he had girlfriends before. When he was in h.school, he had al lot confessions on a app he was a member of. According to BTS members, he is good with the ladies.

Rumor has it that she's one of his ex-girlfriends.

When a woman gave him her personal phone number on an American Hustle, he didn't reject it.

He seemed very pleased when one of Hawaiian dancer winked at him. The interaction between him and Bebe Rexha was also cute.

But he is also interested in many gay artists and their works. He doesn't shy away from expressing his appreciation for men. ( Colın Firht...) That's why I think he's bi, but he leaned for men. I think the same thing about Jimin.

Jimin had more than one girlfriends. We know he's show interested in ladies from time to time. + His interest in Normani, Hwasa and Seulgi. Whispering somethings to Blackpink girls. Weird situation with that Twice's girl etc.

Namjoon : I think Namjoon's straight and big LGBT supporter. He just doesn't ping me.

J-Hope : Straight

Jin : Straight

Suga : He is the only member I'm not so sure. Sometimes I just think he's straight.

Jungkook : Demisexual

I made this decision by looking at his reaction to the women/mens and his relationship with his group mates. Jungkook has a really complex personality. He was only 14 old when he came to live with that group. Basically we can say that he raised his group mates. They are his second family and first friends, he adjust himself their behavor and habits a lot from sound to gestures.

He says more than once he was not really have friends. There is a chat group of idols with his own age, but it does not show that he is a close friend of them. Look at Tae ... When he is friends with someone, he meets them, he takes time for them, and he goes out with them. We hardly ever saw him do it. He just prefers to hang out with his family or group mates. He is still shy in front of people he doesn't know much no matter is it man or woman, that is just his personality. That is not so visible now cause he learned how to act around people, how to make fan service, how to hide his feelings... if he join a program with members, it behaves like a child and looks quite comfortable. But if he is alone, he is very shy and silent. That's why I think Jungkook is Demisexual. So he can not get close to everyone. This takes time and effort for him. He needs to get close to start an relationship. He must knows the other person well and approaches him/her from every direction. It does not matter male or female, I think it's the only thing he needs a strong connection.

The girl in the pic is Taehyung's cousin Kim Eunjin. This is such an old debunked rumour...

Really? Where you get that information? I search the name but came up nothing? The girl's face doesn't even look clear. Her hair covered half her face.

Sorry, OT/ She used to post pics of Taehyung in her social media accounts, confirmed that he was her cousin on ig and they also went to the same school together. link:

Edit-the pinned comment on the video corrects and says cousin sister and not sister... and she deleted her old posts after getting hate

While we're on gay animes, reminder that Taehyung dressed up as Lee Syaoran for the Halloween dance practice, a bisexual character, from one of the gayest animes of its time, Cardcaptor Sakura.

Gays, bisexuals, lesbians, allies; This anime had it all. (Not the English dub though, sadly)

I don't think BTS went to the Grammys after party. They usually don't go for the after parties, generally because only 1 out of 7 members can speak in English. Plus, they went on vlive in their hotel rooms almost right after the show ended.

The pic of them signing the guitar is most likely pre-show in the Grammys Lounge.

Bogum's tweets about Taehyung really breaks Bogum's tweet patterns of him just posting pictures of himself or his dramas huh

Also some gen updates on TaehyungxBogum from last year and this year:

  • BTS and Bogum collaborated for a Coca-Cola ad. Bogum still stars in ads featuring BTS for Coke.
  • Bogum tweeted a picture of Taehyung from their Jeju trip on Taehyung's birthday with the caption "Born to be loved, Taehyung"
  • Bogum recently revealed that that he and Taehyung talked recently about working on OSTs maybe in the future

See this is what I don't understand....

There are loads of people who truly believe Jungkook and Taehyung are (less than subtely, it would seem) hiding a secret and longstanding, super committed relationship. Husbands, etc, etc. Then there are people who get all excited about Bogum and his holiday with Taehyung plus obvious ongoing friendship / ?.

How do such people reconcile the fact that in both cases of these very popular pairings and all the almost canonical theory that goes along with it, Taehyung would have to be playing one man off against the other under each other's very noses? This isn't like band relationships, where the dynamic is different and they also have to be seen together. He is bringing in and advertising an outsider. So why upset his 'husband', Jungkook, by hanging out with an alleged ex? I mean it happens, but invariably it makes life difficult when it doesn't need to be. He could also only be seeing one of them (the other just being a friend) but this is where the two shipping factions collide. You can't have everything, and yet both sides lay claim (the Bogites seeming especially convinced that the holiday had to be a romantic couple one). How can Taehyung be this caring person and then wave an ex partner in Jk's face? He's either got to be a total narcissist who doesn't care,..only one is a partner (if he dates men) and more logically for me it'd be Bogum over Jk bcs of the above, or way more likely imo, this trio are just friends, and there isn't a problem.

I feel like diehard shippers don't think it through. In the real world of relationships outside of AU fanfic, people try not to antagonise each other where exs are concerned. They also tend not to cross date unless they want a life full of problems (see Aaron Yan). They may have a number of FWB but then this goes against the '100% committed husbands' meme that the noisier ships love to roll out.

Taehyung's book should be of far more interest really. All just imo and feel free to flame away.

I kept editing the above as my thoughts evolved on this but I think I'm done.

I'm not particularly attached to any of the ships but I find Taehyung and Bogum's friendship interesting. I'm pretty ok with the fact that I could be wrong about what I'm implying with their relationship since this is just a speculation thread.

About your other point, even if Taehyung was dating either one of them, there's no reason why it would be "Taehyung playing another man" if the one of the relationships is platonic. Further, the whole 'husband' and 'ex' thing makes no sense to me. You're confusing the fact there are different sets of people who believe in different ships and somehow merging all of it to one narrative where Taehyung is romantically involved with everyone.

Also regarding the book, the book is about how to speak thoughtfully and the page which was shown above is only one example of how words can exclude people. It's why I wouldn't pay much attention to it, tbh.

I hope I answered your doubts.

Just caught up with thread and wanted to add that:

Jungkook isn't even that masculine? He has the 'athletic' and 'goes to gym' thing going for him but he's actually very soft or 'feminine' as people would say.

BTS has said that he's the one most interested in cosmetics. There's a fan account I read way back of a fan running into him at a cosmetic shop buying perfume. Also, his taste in music is Pop-EDM (like a lot of gay men I know irl) and is the only member who doesn't like hiphop in the group. He loves romantic movies and his favourite movie is Titanic. He legit cried at the Grammys because he heard Dolly Parton singing.

Also I forgot which gg this is but Jungkook said he liked this gg song (which had this sexy gg dance routine, obvious male bait) and the MC asked him if liked it for the sexy performance or something like that and his response was something like "I admire their hardwork". Something similar with IU as well, the MC asked if he liked IU because she was pretty or something and his response was "I like her voice".

I wouldn't be surprised if he was gay.

Also Jungkook's ideal type is "wheatish skin tone, good body proportions and has muscles"

So "Wow, thighs" Namjoon is Jungkook's ideal type?

(accidentally retweeting Namjoon fanart on twitter as well, a Namjoon fanboy wbk)

Love that you said this so I can post this:

5sRNr3A.png

One of these media personalities/entertainers is gay, and another has a wife and a child (they can still be bi, but regardless).

Ya'll can guess which one is which?

All I'm saying is that stereotypes ain't all they're cracked up to be. But of course, this has been repeated a million times in this thread, but regardless it's good to repeat here and there.

But I'd also like to point out that all the gay Korean youtubers I follow, none of them seem to be excessively into fashion or for that matter makeup. I would honestly love to hear and learn more about Korea's gay culture, because I think having a more indepth knowledge on actual gay people, and the gay culture of Korea, is more helpful in recognizing potential LGBT '' behavior '' to put it bluntly. Often, using western standards is not that helpful, because every culture is unique.

Just to keep in mind that the LGBT movement has borrowed a lot from the western movement. So it's quite possible, LGBT communities everywhere do have some sort of a shared gay culture.

Besides, are western standards necessarily "western"? As an Asian, I've definitely encountered gay men who are into fashion and/or makeup and there's a long history in cultures like mine in how fashion etc. and LGBT communities intersect. Plus, gay youtubers are a small section of the community and most likely the community has quite some variation in how gay men present themselves like say, Holland wouldn't fit in with example.

Overall, I do agree that cultural context would be useful in trying to understand LGBT people in South Korea. just wanted to add my piece to it.

Well no, I never said that. But the issue is more nuanced though. For example, lesbian porn is made by and for straight men, even though it's actually a top porn category with the female viewers, and not the male ones. There is a very specific brand of lesbianism that appeals to straight males, because they are attracted to the fantasy of it, not anything resembling its reality.

So, for example, someone like Moonbyul, who is considered a girl crush idol, doesn't look and act the way she does for the male demographic. Girl crush doesn't inherently have anything to do with gay fanservice between the members, it's usually just about putting girls in suits or other cool outfits. Moonbyul can of course appeal to men too, but the phrase girl crush literally means that a female idol is supposed to make the female fans swoon for a change. Girls like girls in suits. (Twice demographic is pretty evenly distributed between the sexes btw.)

I didn't mean to say that I take companies' intentions at face value. Companies will always do things to maximize the profits and appeal to the widest demographic possible with their business decisions, so of course that male idols crossdressing can also appeal to the demographic that would fetishize male homosexuality. I just meant that for me personally, that is not what I get out it, and from what I've observed within the fandom, most female fans don't interact with it like that either. Again, just my experience, others might feel differently.

Gender nonconformity is heavily present in kpop, and it's something which appeals to a lot of LGBT people, including me, so I quite tend to like the crossdressing aspect too. A girl in a suit is cool, a boy in a dress is cute, there ain't much more to it than that for me personally. So mostly my point was that imo things aren't so clear-cut that I would feel comfortable saying that male idols crossdressing is specifically done so that the fangirls can fetishize them. I think that for a lot of people the gay fetishization aspect doesn't even come into the equation here.

Kinda agree.

From what I've observed, men dressing as women is seen as comedy. That's the context of most BTS crossdressing pictures. They were made to crossdress as a joke. That's how its treated in the fandom as well.

On the other hand, women crossdressing as men is completely normal because men's fashion is "gender neutral" lol
