Which male idols do you think are gay?

Recommended Posts

It breaks my heart to read the lyrics that Key's written recently...

first, he wrote You & I, a SHINee b-side released this year:

"Like the space flowers that dazzled in your eyes

the words that spilled towards me

You held my hands warmly

in a world that only we lived

There are countless stars in my heart

there's one star that shines painfully

I don't want to grab it

but I don't want it to go out

Goodbye to the love from my younger days

I'm letting you go, bye bye

Even though my heart is aching"

another song he wrote is I Will Fight, from his new solo album:

"I live in those traces of everything your hands touched

When darkness comes

I’ll find the you who has become a star...

I’m gonna be your light

Don’t hurt anymore

I will live for you, for us

for the rest of my life

My life that’s for you...

In my memory remind

the black and white us,

Oh the light of my eternity

Remaining, becoming my light

You’re always by my side just like a shadow

You’re still next to me

stay by my side

What’s left of the meaning of life for me

I’ll make it so that you can find the you that you didn’t know too

A mirror of a shining me

I'll fight for you, for us

For the rest of my life"

i don't think there's any way to interpret those words as platonic. he's making it clear that Jonghyun and him were more than friends... it surprises me that Key has been so open about that.. i admire how brave and strong he is.

You & I was written in the summer of 2017, and Key himself has said that he felt annoyed seeing people assume that it's a song based on a personal experience. According to him, he was simply inspired by the melody and decided to write the lyrics. On the other hand, I Will Fight is very obviously about Jonghyun, but I don't personally see anything necessarily romantic in the lyrics, he is just mourning the loss of a loved one and promising that person that he'll live on.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with this line of thinking overall though. This isn't about about you specifically or anything, but these days a lot of people often make it seem like Key (and Shinee in general) cannot do anything musically without it being some kind of a tribute to Jonghyun, even when the song clearly has nothing to do with him, and it comes across as this weird desire for the members to be grieving constantly. Additionally, with I Will Fight being seen as a romantic song, I don't see how that's different from any other form of shipping, and that feels pretty inappropriate in this case to me.

FYI, my response is not meant to come off as rude, but here goes:

It has been less than a year since the loss of their brother (or more) who had been with them for more than 10 years (including trainee days). If there were any other group (sports, music, intellectual research) who had lost someone who had been with them so long, there would not be an issue with them memorializing that person within the first year of their loss.

Why do people want it different now?

If a major football player passed and the teammates wore a jersey with his/her name within a year, would that be a "weird desire for the members to be grieving constantly?" If someone did a Whitney Houston tribute 2 years ago, would it be weird?

Your discomfort seems a bit odd, especially since you're placing it in the context of all of "Shinee in general" reflecting on Jonghyun. Why you mad? Their brother of 10 plus years is gone and all you can do is critique how people choose to mourn and interpretation of their recent artistic expressions.

bye.

eta: sorry this is a jumble and its 2 am

Paying tribute to Jonghyun is perfectly fine, and Shinee has done so and can continue to do so for as long as they like. But not every single thing they do is a tribute, I hope we can agree there. When even fun summer songs not even written by the members themselves are supposed to be about Jonghyun according to some, then it just sounds like they don't care about seeing members as full people, but rather as one dimensional source of tragedy porn. To put it simply, I don't believe that a person who's saying "EXO-L here, love Good Evening, so sad, rip Jonghyun, anyway stream Ko Ko Bop" to be mourning at all. Of course, I didn't accuse you of doing anything like that, or of not caring about the members, I just wanted to express that You & I probably wasn't literally about Jonghyun (at least not in full), given what Key had said, and how believing that it is was, to an extent, tied in with an overall trend that a lot of people, including myself, are not comfortable with.

Add to that a romantic interpretation of Key's and Jonghyun's relationship and it gets real dubious real fast. I don't assume that anyone has ill will necessarily when they say that JongKey had to have been real, I think that for a lot of people it comes from a genuine place, and who knows, maybe they really were a couple. But what if that's not the case? Imagine telling someone about your pain of losing a really close friend, and that person's response ends up being "oh, you must have been a couple". Now multiple that by thousands of people. It sounds invalidating and intrusive to me. If Key one day officially comes out and says that Jonghyun and him were a couple we can certainly be there to support him, but till then I don't feel that it's right to speculate about the potential romantic relationship they may have had given the circumstances.

Where to start...? I actually think you're both right and wrong, in a way. unsure.png

Firstly, yes, Key did start writing You & I last year already, but he revised and finished it this year. It definitely reads as a love song and in context it appears to be meant for Jonghyun. But, and this is important, all of the lyrics may not be about him. Writing lyrics for a pop song, the composer can take inspiration from both the real world and an imaginary one - and then mix them into a whole. Jonghyun himself often wrote songs inspired by letters he received on Blue Night that came off as very personal, but were based on other people's experience.

Secondly, I don't think it's a bad thing in itself to want to find traces of Jonghyun in Shinee's releases this year. It's inevitable that all of it will have that lingering feeling of something missing. But I also agree that it's important that we as fans let the four of them just live on and find new happiness in the present.

I don't personally find it shippy to say that Key may have written I Will Fight for or about Jonghyun. To me, the song reads like both a love song to a person and a song about the need to continue fighting for life and love. It is also perfectly possible to write a love song without it having to be about a sexual relationship.

As a general note, I think it would be very unrealistic to expect Key to out himself through song lyrics, however much we all want to read between the lines. When he does, it will be in another way. He's really not sending us secret messages listen-to-Lucifer-backwards-style. idontthinksobetchplz.png

I actually agree with absolutely everything that you've said! Especially the part about artists taking inspiration from different parts of their life and imagination and putting it all together. Yes, absolutely, You & I can be inspired by multiple things for Key, including Jonghyun. I don't think that it's shippy either to say that I Will Fight is devoted to Jonghyun, I 100% believe that that's the case, nor is it shippy to think that it could be read as a love song in general, everyone is entitled to their own subjective interpretation of art after all. The part where it becomes a problem for me is the idea that these two songs are supposed to be indicative a romantic relationship between the two. I just take issue with that bit and find it to be shipping.

The best example i can think of is exo on 'knowing bros', Baekhyun basically outed Sehun by saying that he is not interested in girls, I'm sure the managers weren't expecting that? Even if he was scolded afterwards, i'm sure he might do it again because they are human, they will make mistakes.

"He is not interested in girls" is unfortunately just an incredibly heteronormative way of saying that a male idol is not interested in dating. Of course, it can technically mean something else as well, but I'd say most of the time it's just useless fanservice for female fans to let them know that their oppa is "safe" and won't cheat on them by dating. It barely qualifies as a receipt imo. And to me, everyone looked fairly comfortable in that situation, like no one was potentially outed in any way, the power of heteronormativity is just that strong~. I find that moment during Sukira (I think) when they were asked which member they would not date if they were girls to be a much stronger receipt, because they answered "Sehun. Not that we are hating on him or anything, it's just that the question was if we were girls" and then Ryeowook quickly instructed them to skip the reasoning.

Do Koreans genuinely believe that, say, Kai and Jennie must be a legit couple because Dispatch seems to be the one in control of their relationship, or does anyone question if it's all just one big PR move? Why not just come out on their own terms? Or is it to do with one or other party being afraid to tell their company? And why is a pair of consenting adults dating each other seen as a 'scandal'?

Genuine questions, I'm very curious.

Because idol industry works completely differently from other forms of entertainment industry, nobody questions it really. In other areas of entertainment, even in Korea, it could be beneficial to be in a PR relationship, though I am not so certain about how often it's done in Korea. But idol industry is the exact opposite - idols sell a fantasy of being audience's boyfriend/girlfriend, and are therefore going against their brand when they date. Fans accept that they are being sold a fantasy, which is why you'll often see comments like "well, I know that idols are human too and that they date, but they should have done a better job keeping it secret". As such, idols stand nothing to gain by getting into a fake relationship, except for death threats. As for the companies, of course they all know. Especially the managers who are always around idols (EXO manager follows Jennie on Instagram I believe?). When YG says that they had no idea about Jennie dating, that's also just a standard YG move when the news is true. Lastly, any sort of juicy and somewhat controversial news in Korea is referred to as a scandal, the word has a somewhat less harsh feel in Korean than in English.

Homosexuality and heterosexuality are as much limited to the bedroom as asexuality is.

Absolutely not. The -sexuality part in homosexuality comes from the latin word sexus, which refers to the biological sex, while homo means same. As such, homosexuality refers to the exclusive attraction towards the same sex, which can be both romantic and sexual in nature. If asexual people need new vocabulary to describe their lived experiences that's perfectly fine, but we shouldn't change the meaning of the word "homosexuality" when gay people have already fought for so long for their attraction to be recognized as not just a sexual thing.

Going back to the previous topic though, could someone post some receipts on Mingyu? A lot of people here don't see him as straight so I'm interested. I've never really registered anything myself, always found Seungkwan and Joshua to be more suspicious, but SVT makes me feel completely clueless overall.

You do realize that some people can be attracted to both sexes sexually but only one romantically, right? How would you call someone who is bisexual and homoromantic then? Or someone who is aromantic but attracted sexually to someone of the same sex? Romantic and sexual attraction are different things.

But as I said, yes when people say homosexual they also mean homoromantic almost all of the time. The same can be said for asexual/aromantic.

bisexual and homoromantic - bisexual with a preference and under 25

aromantic but attracted sexually to someone of the same sex - gay and under 25

I'm sorry, at best I find the split attraction model just kinda silly, and at worst the language used and the implications others can draw from it are just plainly homophobic. Like, aromantic but sexually attracted to the same sex, it's ok, you're gay, it's time to come to terms with that.

I feel like, while it's certainly plausible and would be great that there are 2-3 gay or bi members in a 7 member group, on a whole something like that happening in pretty much every popular boy group is fairly unlikely in my opinion. I do agree that kpop has a much higher percentage of gay and bi men than the general population, but something like 1 in 3 people feels like a fantasy to me. I think it's far more likely that there's maybe 1 member in every other 7 member group, but it's certainly entirely plausible for there to be more than 1 in some groups. Statistics aside lol, I appreciate the OP sharing their info nonetheless.

BTS - the only LGBT rumors that I hear is that Taehyung is heavily rumored to be gay and that's about it. Jimin is supposedly a total het fuckboy, which confuses me greatly since he just seems so obviously not straight to me. Suga is dating girls a lot as well, according to the rumors I've read.

GOT7 - BamBam I think is a very safe bet. Regarding Jackson, I think he is completely open and apologetic about the things he does, which is great and the way things should be, but he just ends up reminding me of every other accepting Straightâ„¢ boy instead. But to be honest, I don't follow GOT7 very closely so what do I know.

EXO - Sehun almost certainly is, seeing how his own members repeatedly joked about it. About Suho, there's that old rumor going around that he's like a Leeteuk 2.0, constantly hitting on every other female idol, don't know how true that is (for Leeteuk it's true though lol).

Seventeen - Vernon/Minghao seems wild to me but hey, anything's possible, though my money continues to be on Joshua, Seungkwan and maybe Jun or Hoshi. Seriously, Hoshi stans Shinee, specifically Taemin and Key from what I can gather, receipts of unparalleled validity!

Monsta X - Wonho seems like a twink stuck in a twunk's body. Minhyuk and Hyungwon may or may not be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Super Junior - Ryeowook is unquestionably gay in my opinion. Anyone who thinks he might be asexual is falling for the trap of desexualization of gay people. Regarding Heechul, I'm gonna say something which will make a lot of people disregard all my opinions, but I think it's entirely plausible for him to be just straight and a huge ally. It's kinda 50-50 in my opinion, I don't think Heechul is that much of a certainty. Would be amazing if he's one of us of course.

Is there any tea on Taemin though? I always found it bizarre that the popular opinion was that Taemin and Jimin were straight, when I found out that they are friends on top of it I thought it was so obvious. Though wishful thinking is a powerful drug lol.

Lmao what is the logic behind this

I imagine they are referring to the Gangnam style type, girls who had a lot of work done to conform to the South Korean beauty standards as best as they can, like a South Korean version of an instagram model who looks like a Kim Kardashian clone essentially. They are kinda either a hit or a miss with Korean men overall.

Personally, I don't care to discuss any idols who are minors because I am not interested in them, so this doesn't affect me in any way. But honestly, this has some really worrying implications and it's bizarre how the mods cannot see them. Absolutely no one will complain about, nor remove the posts where people discuss if idols who are minors maybe have a crush on another idol of the opposite sex, because there is nothing inherently sexual about that obviously, so why should it be any different for one place on the entire forum where people can discuss if someone is gay or not?

EDIT: The only acceptable reason for doing this would be if the thread had a history of talking about minors in a sexual way. If you can prove that this has been a repeated problem within the thread, and that the thread cannot be reasonably moderated as a result, then I would understand this decision. Otherwise, why fix what's not broken?

>I want someone to help me understand, what is this urge some of you have to speak about minors and what they are or what they like?

I thinks a very heterosexual misunderstanding is happening here. I'm gonna be bold here and say that no one is really burning with great desire to talk about minors specifically, it's about the principle. If mentioning minors is banned here, what about the rest of the forum? If a minor writes a sad song and a user comments "which girl hurt you," are you gonna delete that comment? If a minor talks about his ideal type and someone says "whoever he ends up dating, she's gonna be one lucky girl," will you be removing that? In both of these examples, the users are inherently assuming minors' sexuality. If someone can post two minors of the opposite sex standing next to each other with the comment "cute", but the same cannot be done with the minors of the same sex in this thread, then you might have a bit of a problem. If you wish to treat everyone equally, then it sounds to me like you'll have a lot more work on your plate from now on.

>Its bad enough adult idols are coveted and sexualized, but we have threads like this that look at and impose labels and concepts about their preferences, about who you think is gay or not.

Saying that someone might be gay is not imposing anything on anyone. Also, whether someone likes chocolate or flowers for Valentine's is a preference, sexual orientation is not.

>Gossip hurts people whether its true or not. In hindsight it may seem inoffensive to speculate, but really think about what it is you are doing in this thread. Threads like this are no different than tabloids.

No one has ever been outed by this thread, nor has anyone's reputation been damaged. How come people can talk about so many different things, but when it comes to this place, suddenly we're collectively larping like this thread has the power to shake up the entire k-pop industry? Also, very bold of you to compare people who post here, majority of whom are LGBT themselves and just hoping that some of their favorite idols might be the same, with tabloids and to imply that we hurt people with what we do.

Ultimately, a forum is not a democracy, so it is what it is, but I wanted to voice my concerns anyway.

It took a while for it to properly sink in, but an admin of this website literally came into this thread, where majority of users are LGBT, and asked us why we are so obsessed with minors. Like...the implication here is so deeply homophobic, and on top of that this particular brand of homophobia is almost archaic at this point, that I wasn't even able to comprehend it initially. Jesus Christ, what a mess.

"Vkook is real!"

This thread: Omg so true, pure facts 100%

"I think there's nothing romantic going on between Vkook"

This thread: what kind of fanfiction, how dare you be delusional into thinking they're not together!!!

If you used any other ship you might have had an argument there because people are more forgiving towards those, but we literally love oppressing taekookers in here lol.

and tbh I can’t remember ever having posted here, so while I’m here can I ask any LGBT users:

around what portion of Kpop male idols do you think are LGBT?

I would also like to know what the other users think about this. I figure it's somewhere around 10% maybe. Entertainment industry inherently draws LGBT people more, and that goes especially for an industry like k-pop with a heavy focus on dancing, so I sincerely doubt the number is below 5%. I can buy that it's a bit higher than 10%, but not really that every other idol is gay like some might believe. Do some of the users have personal experiences and information about the entertainment industry and the amount of LGBT in it?

So the guy who accused LGBT people of being creepy, and implied we are pedophiles for mentioning minors here, likes lolis and fetishizes lesbians? Who would have thunk! What a classic case of male projection.

Lol 10% is the percentage of gay people in the general population. I believe the number can go higher (or lower) depending on the industry we're talking about. Soccer players? Lower. Actors? A bit higher. Pop singers/dancers? Higher. For comparison: check the wikipedia list for American male pop singers and see how many out gay men you'll find.

I'd say it's between 30%-35% for male singers and that's not even a stretch.

The percentage of gay people seems to be, according to most research, between 1% and 3%, and the same goes for bisexuals. The real numbers are probably higher because a lot of people don't want to admit that they are gay or bi, even to researchers, or they might not be aware of it themselves to begin with. The 10% figure comes from a study which found that if you don't ask people what their sexuality is, but instead ask "have you ever experienced attraction towards the same sex," around 11% of the people will say yes. I do think there's a lot of Kinsey 1s in this world, but most of them will never do anything with the same sex and will happily live exclusive straight lives, so I tend to disregard them when I talk about this topic, though that might be an unpopular opinion. So when I said that I believe that there are about 10~% of male idols who are not straight, I was only talking about the ones who are open to having something with the same sex.

I hope people don't take my message the wrong way but i just want to say.. I personally don't think someone listening to Gay Artist such as Lady gaga or Troye sivan makes them gay.. there is a reason a lot of boys don't feel confortable with admitting to liking pop music by females. is for that same reason. why is there a double standard? if a man listens to lady gaga or troye sivan. he's gay but if a woman listens to Lady gaga troye sivan or rap music she isn't a lesbian. a male artist having interactions with Male artists doesn't make them gay or proof that theyre gay.. there is a reason fan boys are hard to come by for male groups... i just wish ya'll stop that. it makes it hard for me a boy to admit to like certain thing i remember the first time i told people i liked kpop i was labeled as gay right away. and i was ashamed. i never told anyone my music preference after that!!! I do think they're are a lot of gay idols, and there are other proofs that we can post on here. but liking troye sivan or having an interaction with a fanboy. shouldn't be use as 'Proof' anyways sorry for my terrible grammar.. and just stating my opinion! good night!!

You kinda had me there at first, since I don't think that listening to Gay Artists is really a grade A receipt either, especially when we're talking about professional musicians who have to consume great amounts of music because of the nature of their job, but if men are too afraid to admit to liking pop music because they fear being perceived as gay, then the real problem there is...homophobia. Straight men may not wish to be read as gay because they see gay men as lesser, and some gay and bi men may wish to remain closeted so they also wouldn't appreciate someone making that connection; either way the root of the issue is homophobia, not someone's assumption that a person might not be straight. Lady Gaga, for example, certainly has straight male fans, and from what I gather in East Asia she isn't seen as such an overwhelmingly Gay Artist as she is in the west, but even there a great portion of her male fans are gay, and there is nothing wrong in recognizing those patterns, just as long as no one claims that no straight man ever has liked Lady Gaga.

I never had a single ping for anyone in Big Bang (some people argue GD is gay but I don't see it). They all just seem like the straightest dudes out there lol (not going to really bring up Seungri here);

I don't believe that G-dragon is gay, he seems very much bi to me, like he pings a ton. Since you think he's straight, what do you make of his instagram likes including "half gay" and "bottoms do it better," and his answer to the question what he would do if he was in a love triangle, where it seems like he said that he liked someone who had a girlfriend?

Okay let's have a look at Bogum, as he interests quite a few people. It does appear that he went with a male friend to the concert, though that isn't any specific indicator. Possibly a female older lady on the other side, who may be family?

Here are two cuts from the same piece. The first is a general Bangtan segment from Feb with Tae mentioning Bogum. Then we have a close up of Jungkook's reaction. Thoughts after the posts.

We have a few interesting reactions. Jungkook is the obvious one. Namjoon and Jimin are smiling and shuffling around, Hobi is obviously tired and his head is lolling about, an unbothered king. Jin doesn't give a shit either. Suga's chin jerks up twice. But none of this may mean anything. They could be bored, or just going through the motions on autopilot.

Close up, a good many people think Jungkook looks jealous or angry but ?? (I think he looks briefly irritated but reigns it in). Afaik he is on decent terms with Bogum so has no outward reason to dislike him. It's possible that maybe the cult angle exasperates him and he's just worried about Taehyung getting pulled into it. And also his mind may be elsewhere. I mean you can read it as romantic or jealousy, but I think there are equally other explanations.

lol that first tweet belongs to a high school girl who makes taekook analysis videos, and she and another taekook youtuber in her 20's are constantly vaguing about each other on social media, having anxiety attacks and threatening to quit making videos until their fans jump in to validate them, because they are essentially stealing views from each other. These people have like over 100k subs, and their videos are literally straight out of the twilight zone, complete with ideas that taekook and the entire BH are sending us literal secret numerical codes that they have managed to decipher, proving that taekook is real. Other, just slightly less insane, concepts are things like taekook literally not being able to cope with not being on the same team during some games, and of course, everyone's favorite, how Jungkook is super jealous of Bogum, while taekook is simultaneously a perfectly harmonious relationship (so what is the truth.gif). I fully recommend watching their videos as a form of anthropological study.

I don't think the poster was confirming that G-Dragon was out and out gay, but that the force was strong sorta thing. If the damn search function were working after a year+ of being out I could probably find it for you.

No need to, I was lurking at the time so I saw it, that person got a bit unnecessarily dragged from what I remember, I found it pretty odd. Like, why would it be hard to believe that G-Dragon was hitting on a guy at a club lol?

Similarly, there's also that reddit post about Bogum, since he was being discussed.

I am probably part of the minority here, but I honestly think that gaydar is the most accurate tool we've got. There is something about growing up and living as LGBT that makes a lot of us do certain things a bit differently. As a result of this shared LGBT experience, a lot of us can also identify each other well. Naturally, not everyone will be obviously identifiable, but imo it's still a better tool than the receipts. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy seeing the receipts as well, please do continue posting them, but if someone doesn't ping me then I'm not really going to change my mind just because they've seen the Bohemian Rhapsody and wore sneakers with a rainbow strip.

And that's why I feel much more comfortable placing my money on Bambam rather than Jackson. Maybe Bambam is the straightest straightie ever, and Jackson is totally bi, but ultimately Bambam instantly pings so many people, while Jackson reminds me of literally so many accepting straight guys. Nothing to do with masculinity really, not that Jackson is all that masculine to begin with, he just has a bit more muscle mass lol.

Girl, going in a thread entitled "Which male idols do you think are gay?" to say that everybody's straight ajhahjahjhajh

I hope you're a troll or just young and naive ♥

They said no one in Got7, but 3 out of 7 BTS members, which is far from claiming that everybody's straight. Besides, not like every group has to have a gay or bi member, there aren't any diversity quotas here. No reason to go off on OP for having a different opinion.

In the gay world, people often want to look or/and act as masculine as possible, or as feminine as possible, and masc/fem is a pretty defining label. And both of those extremes make my personal gaydar go off.

Very well said, imo Wonho is a good example for this category.

I know it's never a 'right' time necessarily but does anyone think now would be an opportune moment for a really big idol (of any gender) to come out officially? Like, just looking at the way SK is on a knife edge with this Burning Sun scandal, the whole #MeToo and ToiletCam incidents and now the heirs of some of the country's biggest companies mixed up with drugs.

If someone wanted to do it, and have a softer impact amidst a lot of other things going on, might it not be seen as a lesser issue in their society than some of the really serious stuff going on like procurement of women and corruption/land selling, etc?  Or is no time a good time? Would someone really famous still be slayed for being publicly LGBT today, given that the authorities and older population esp. are taught to be so bitchy towards LGBT. Does anyone think their society could cope with it in the midst of all the pandemonium going down? Just curious.

I feel like it would have the exact opposite effect actually. Just look at a lot of the top comments on the Korean websites regarding the JJY molka scandal: people are constantly talking about how it's all just a distraction from the original Burning Sun scandal and the Jang Jayeon's case, they want it out of the news and dealt with yesterday. Therefore, I think that if someone chose to come out right now, they would receive an even heavier backlash for taking away the spotlight from these two issues.

Either way, I don't believe that a trending idol will ever willingly come out, not in the next 50 years at least. A male idol inherently has to play up the boyfriend fantasy for the fans who are largely of the opposite sex. Coming out would make him be perceived as unavailable to those fans, ultimately killing all of his chances for success. We'll have to make due with the glass closet for now, or maybe someone like Jo Kwon, who has had one foot out of the closet for a while now, coming out after the military one instagram selfie at the time. Alternatively, female idols might have a bit more luck here, since their fanbase has a more equal division by sex.

Do you think Jo Kwon will officially come out once he is finished in the military?

I think it will continue to be a gradual coming out process for him. It's amazing to me, but you can still see some Koreans write "when he does things like these it really makes me think that he is dot dot dot" on articles about him, or even i-fans trying to claim that "you cannot assume anything, wE JuSt dOn't kNoW unless a person says!!" People are willfully delusional. Eventually though, Jo Kwon will have to say "yeah, I'm gay," but by that point he'll probably be a musical actor only, so he'll be fine. I think Key would probably want to do something similar, but he'll maintain a glass closet instead for SHINee's sake.

Its not a legit receipt, pure speculation....  so i put it in spoilers.

Ex-member of Beast Hyunseung (on the right, blonde hair) who was always suspected of being bi or gay during his time in Beast) and Ex-JYP solo singer Se7en (shirtless)

they hang out together all the time.

Dont know if that means anything but IF Hyunseung is gay (as rumors implied), it might. Pure speculation, though.

Didn't Se7en have a whole prostitution scandal? Just goes to show, excessive eyeliner is sometimes just that.

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way but I gotta be real with y'all, even something like the rainbow is not recognized as a gay symbol in some countries, so honestly most people in real life have no clue what the bi flag looks like. Only a minority of LGBT people can identify it, and most of them are probably from the west and actively participate in their local LGBT communities. I am not from the west, but I hang out in some fairly liberal circles where I come from, and literally no one knows about the bi flag, nor does anyone feel represented by it.

Since that twitter user wondered how someone could not believe in Eunhae, I'm gonna offer my perspective. No one can deny that these two are tight and love each other a lot. But they've been that way for over 12 years now, consistently maintaining a good relationship. I'll admit I don't follow them extremely closely, but I've never seen any bigger changes in the way they have interacted with each other over the years. And what about the period during which Eunhyuk dated IU? Shippers certainly believed even back then as well that Eunhae was real and them bam, IU accidentally posts that picture on twitter. Where was Donghae during all that, and how was he feeling about the situation? Eunhae is also a huge company promoted ship, they even have their own sub unit as a result, so playing up the lovey-dovey side of their relationship is to their financial benefit, even more so than with other idols. And I am not so sure that most companies would be willing to promote a real couple as a ship like that to begin with, it's practically a scandal just waiting to happen, therefore too risky from the management's perspective.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying that it's kinda a huge coincidence imo that one of the top 2nd generation ships, which is actively promoted by their agency, is real, especially when one of them had a public dating scandal with a younger girl.

What if there's no 'accident' to IU posting her picture though?

If I were D or E's team and I knew my buddies could help me out, would I not ask? And retain a favour for the future? Isn't this the point of psychological manipulation? To make things seem organic and accidental?

SK media and netizens make a huge deal out of 'scandals' between male and female idols but it generally boils down to zilch that they just get away with before it fizzles out. It's usually a huge fuss about nothing. So I don't buy that the male-female setup has to be any more realistic than the two guys.

I am not sure if I'm understanding this clearly, do you mean to say that it was a PR relationship? If you're arguing that, I cannot buy it one bit. IU had the image of nation's little sister, and then suddenly she is in her PJs in a bed with an older man who is shirtless. In a nation like South Korea, which is so image obsessed, no one from her team would willingly want something like that for her. If they maybe wanted to change her image to something more mature, they would have done it gradually and in a very controlled way. Eunhyuk too, so many fans at the time left him, he got a lot harassment and was mocked routinely on variety shows about the situation. From what I remember, IU was kinda barely legal at the time and people were even wondering if they may have started dating while she was a minor, since it was obvious that she liked him for a while, which makes the situation even messier. This was no ordinary dating scandal, and the fact that both of their careers survived in the end is borderline a miracle.
