What do you think of comeback startegy from Red Velvet and Twice?

Both groups have consistently comeback very often lately, just in around 1 year we got 4 comebacks each from both groups.

Red Velvet

  • Mini Album    Rookie    February 1, 2017
  • Mini Album    The Red Summer    July 10, 2017
  • Full Album    Perfect Velvet    November 17, 2017
  • Repackage    Perfect Velvet Series 2 Bad Boy    January 29, 2018

Twice

  • Repackage    Twicecoaster: Lane 2    February 20, 2017
  • Mini Album    Signal    May 15, 2017
  • Full Album    Twicetagram    October 30, 2017
  • Repackage    Merry & Happy    December 11, 2017

What do you think of this strategy? Do you think this is a good idea? Do you think other groups also should apply the same strategy?

I like it

Again I wish Korea had some fucking Sense and dropped B-side promotions and just Remix them a bit for sales before or after dropping major Album Comeback.....like Bruno Mars put Cardi B in one of his songs from his old ass album and that shit just hit billboard.......Stop wasting Music Kpop idols...

I don't really like it
I prefer two comebacks with full out promotions than 4
Where only one is promoted well

.....so you would rather see just 2 mvs and have them promote just 2 songs a year? because you want full out promotions of just two songs for the WHOLE year....oh ok

They both did it in 2016 and (2015 for RV) and it was fine ? they had varieties and festivals throughout they year too so its not like they disappeared for 6 months

Plus it builds anticipation

Stop being greedy lmao

I think frequent comebacks are generally the right call in the internet age. Just keep pushing stuff so your fans have content for social media. The occasional miss doesn't seem to be a big deal, I mean Rookie and Signal didn't have the best public reception but they just kept going.

I just hope they don't wind up overworked... but you can just cut their comebacks a little. Weeks 3-4 of promotions on low rated music shows aren't that valuable, while recording a few tracks and filming a music video doesn't seem too tiring... western stars often do that 4x in a year while touring.

That said everyone's still gonna be hyped for the next BP comeback even though it's been forever.

Anticipation leads to disappointment...

And Greedy IMO is dropping 14 track album to only promote/market one song but fully expect people to buy/stream/ect the merchandise that comes with it......imagine putting your blood sweat tears into producing/writing some bomb ass b-sides just to have ur company push the company produced title track that clearly isnt the most the marketable song in the album and thus everybody outside of their fans write off the album completely....that happens all the time in kpop lol As Rainbow from Debut to Disband stan I can attest to that

in America if ur single is flopping you push the next one and hope it sticks...if you have a hit song and a hit album you make remixs and music videos to the B-sides ur fans want to see/hear

in korea u gotta wait till you comeback again and if you ARENT Red Velvet or Twice (mostly Twice) you aint gonna know when that next comeback is....and the general public will never hear the self-composed, self-written, self-produced tracks on the album

if thats how u like ur kpop girl go ahead...but lets not act like Korean Music market isnt shit....i mean you gotta wait for the music video to drop before you can purchase the music as if its the image that only sells

Not every agency have huge confidence like YG, most of girl groups this day have 2 or more comeback in a year, with a lot of new girl group debuting fans can easily lost interest without promotion (especially male fans) and swerve to new debut group.

Honestly YG strategy can lead to 2 possible outcome, Ikon case where lack of Korean promotion made public lost interest and fandom move on to other group or Big Bang case where lack of Korean promotion made public thirsty, we will see how BlackPink result soon.
