His core demographic is unwavering but he can easily be replaced. Since most third party voters voted for Libertarian Gary Johnson and would've otherwise voted for Trump, it might actually be a good idea to encourage more people to vote third-party. Trump doesn't have to be super popular he just has to be better than whoever the Democrats pick, esp if they choose a celebrity of their own like Oprah instead of a typical candidate. All the old folk/democrats were pissed off with Obama in presidency, so that boosted their hatred + motivation to vote for the racist cheeto, thinking he would be their salvation. Now Millennials/Rebublicans are pissed Trump is in office, so they'll most likely go all out like people had done for Trump. And thus the cycle repeats.
