Ok there was a video of a 14 years old kid that was smoking (hes an known actor) and one of his friends said something homophobic I think and he agreed.

Im asking would you call him out as random strangers on internet?...I mean its not our responsibility to call him out its his parents right? He is 14! The majority of people are dumb and immature at that age

Heres the video

i don't see what's wrong with calling out something that's wrong, it takes more than parents to rear a child in the right direction. i do think there should be a limit to how things are called out, and that the internet usually crosses it, but since he's a celebrity i rly can't be that bothered #oop

i do think he should be informed that shit like this is unacceptable but some people take it to such an extreme levels of calling names or sending death threats over issues like this and it's not ok either

Bullying always happens when people start "calling out" others on the net

First, he's not the average 14 yo joe, he's an actor as such he should be more aware of public life. Second, I wouldn't call him out myself but on the web there are plenty of teenagers the same age as him that would do it, I have a sister at the same age and she would not let should thing pass, age is not an excuse. Besides, if his behaviours is not corrected while he's young, he won't change when he's old.

Not excusing but not our responsability as random people on internet

I believe it's important to speak out when you encounter something you believe strongly in. For many people, that's battling homophobia. Excusing his words because of his age is silent encouragement that it's okay to say hateful things.

i sat my 5yo cousin to talk about some transphobic comments he made. i didn't scream and didn't get angry and he understood perfectly. none of us was born 100% tolerant so i think it's okay... now all this 'behind a screen activists' are usually too aggressive and THAT'S the problem. to say "BE TOLERANT YOU FAGGOT" is the most paradoxical thing i've heard

yeah and i don't get why that happens tbh, not like you would get anywhere with it, quite the opposite actually. but i guess some people just wanna be vile and things like this just gives them room to do so without looking that bad

I agree. Unfortunately, mob mentally takes over even when intentions are good. No good will come out of hounding him, but a reply saying that what's been said isn't cool? Then moving on? That's what I wished happened all the time.

If he said something offensive, then I don't have a problem with criticizing that specifically. As long as he isn't being attacked for his opinion, I see nothing wrong with criticizing his words.

That said, in this situation it says the friend was the one who said something offensive and he simply agreed, thus the scolding should go to the friend, in my opinion.

This.

A normal student at my school knows you shouldn’t take a video while smoking weed underaged, or say slurs at all. And we’re younger than these kids. Sorry but this video is just plain stupidity lmao.

it's not that difficult ??? i mean he heard things on media and repeats them. in my country at least is really easy to be intolerant because is the "normal" attitude towards everything that's slightly different Â¯\_(ツ)_/¯
