what does this mean for DMTN??? they can't stay away for 4 years......i don't think i could deal with that.....i can't.

 

i want daniel to stay with DMTN but, 2works needs do something instead of just staying quiet.

 

not only this but Dari doesn't seem like he's rejoining, which angers me on why 2works can't just take him in or why doesnt he make an effort to stick by his boys and have them promote as still a 5 member group

 

i hope 2works don't just keep them locked for these future years, they can't do that.

 

It sounds like they have a week to appeal the sentencing (I'm not holding out hope on it; this is already apparently the bare minimum sentence), so 2works probably won't say anything until after that... and if they do decide to appeal, they won't say anything until the appeal process is done.

 

I don't see 2works letting him stay. Established actors can survive scandals like this, and sometimes musicians who were only caught smoking it... but Dan has pretty much everything working against him.

I don't see 2works bringing in Dari, either. They would have to shift the group back to a heavy hip-hop image and sound to carry off that group roster. And that's if he even wants to come back.

I am not a huge fan of DMTN/Dalmatian...I of course liked them based on E.R's video(Hello shirtless men) but hadn't kept up with them since i first saw them. I am sad to hear they are having some drama though, due to one of the member's bad choices.

this is so stupid........the fact that a korean judge let someone off with sexual assault, and gav daniel a year is so fucking twisted i can't believe this stupid shit...

 

Well... this was just Cha Noa's result for smoking pot (which does seem to follow along with other celebrities who've been charged with only smoking - ie just probation). I don't think his trial has started yet for the assault charge.

How did I notice what? The hairpiece or the cigs? Probably because the former is obvious and I have a strong distaste for the latter (but it seems to be almost as common as drinking in SK, so it's entirely likely that he does actually smoke (we know he drinks, see his IG)).

 

As for his belt... well.   Yes... there's that... but my sister says I'm a crow. If something glitters or sparkles, I will stare at it.

I have to admit I've given up on following this group. (Damn it, Daniel!) But their songs still play frequently on my K-Pop playlist-especially "Drive" and "Still By UR Side."

 

I haven't given up on following sexy Simon though. So sexy, it hurts.

True. I honestly dont want Daniel to be in this comeback. He just needs to be at home with his fam. His sister has been visiting him so hopefully thats been doing him some good.

If the appeal wins Daniel any further leniency, they'll count the time he's been in jail toward his sentence (or at least I'm pretty sure that's how it works State-side).

Though now I wonder about that comment about military service after his jail sentence was served.

Inati is the one member I don't understand.

He's random. One minute he'll be all serious and leader-like and the next he'll come out nowhere and do something weird. Its like he randomly have these childish impulses.

 

Yeah, I don't think we can expect him to try to come back as an idol once this is all over. I just want him to gtfo of Korea and start over here in the States.

Daniel doesn't belong in nobody's jail. He's seems tough but he's still just a boy. I just want him out of jail, whether it means he has to go back to the States or serve military time, I just want him freed 

 

I  saw  people saying  that's the end of  DMTN but I don't think it is. If it was they would've already disbanded by now. 2works haven't dropped them, none of  the members seem like they've given up, Simon ain't gone back to Japan, Jeesu, Inati, and Dari are still making music, and Donglim is...well Donglim is working out like he's preparing for something (considering Donglim is the member who likes working out the least). So I think we can expect a comeback, its just a matter of when.

 

In re: Inati - I like the playful side of him... but sometimes it's not so much playful as purely childish.

 

I'm still confused as to why David ever agreed to join a group. I could see him doing it in the early stages, when it was still a strong hip-hop concept, but when the roster changes happened and the concept went from serious hip-hop to *wearing dalmatian costumes*... why the hell did he not back out then? He was probably making good money as a rap trainer.

Haha perhaps but its entertaining every time. When he has kids he'll probably be the type of Dad that always embarrass his kids just for the hell of it

I don't think the wearing dalmatian costumes bothered him as much as things like eating a muskrat dressed in a tuxedo.  I think he probably joined for MC Mong, or maybe Dalmatian didn't reach the level of success he was hoping for soon enough. and figured he could just as much or even more money as a rap trainer/writer/producer. Or either he didn't like the more serious direction the the rest of the group wanted to go with with State of Emergency because I really don't think it was the Round 1/Lover Cop/That Man Opposed concepts that bothered him. He had a lot control over the group musically back then. He did write Round 1 and That Man Opposed afterall, so if he really wanted to he could have shifted the concept a bit.

 

They did go on some questionable variety shows... and it was always poor David who got stuck eating disgusting things. That could have been his wake-up call about the life of a nugu idol, or he might have found he didn't have as much creative control as he thought he would. I don't know what the timing was, but with Dari enlisting and Mong's scandal, he might have just decided they were likely to disband or have to switch labels where he wouldn't have the same level of control or contribution...

 

I mean, we'll never know for sure, but I don't think any idol has as much control as agencies would sometimes like to say they do.

That's kind of bittersweet.

I'm glad he won't serve time in jail, but there was that initial comment about doing military service, and now the comment about university in the US. It's great for him to pursue higher education, but if he backs out of military duty, he might as well never come back to SK (in fact, he could get the Steve Yoo treatment).

I suppose, given his age, that there's time for him to do both... but he would be better off (publicity and netizen-wise) to do the military service and THEN go abroad for college.

 

...plus I just want 2works to make an official statement on what the crap is going on with this group.

Maybe I am just being overly optimistic but I do think they will have a comeback! However thanks to netizens who simply won't let by gones be by gones I think it will always that tries to bring up the past.

 

My ideal scenario would be DMTN comeback this year, and then Daniel returns after his military duty or when his probation is up and then DMTN release a full album.

 

He should just go into the military. If that also covers his probation period, all the better, 'cuz if he can't stay out of trouble while enlisted, then he has more problems than we thought.

Though now I wonder about his knee and how that would play into things.

He would get massive kudos from netizens if he gave up his american citizenship to serve in SK's military (which was, iirc, already mentioned as something he would do, even before the initial verdict was handed down), but if he went public service because of his bad knee, they'd shit on him for that.

Oh yeah I was watching their "Drive" performance last night and that made me think of his knee. What was the situation with his knee anyway? I don't think he broke anything so he should be fine by now.

 

It got messed up two years in a row at the idol athletics thing, I think. The last one happened *right* before the Safety Zone comeback.

Really depends on what exactly happened to it - if something tore, that could require a surgical fix and it might never be 100% again.

Athletes suffer injuries all the time that might be pretty minor to regular people, but can be career-ending to them. Of course Dan's not an athlete, but it might affect the outcome of a physical exam for active vs public service.

If you're referring to all the selcas he took in the gym... yeees. He still has no butt to speak of ( ), but he is certainly staying in shape.

Yeah Daniel surprised the hell out of me because he got really buff. I feel he had the most dramatic transformation physically. Whereas Jisu and Donglim just got more leaner/cut.

Looking at him from the front you'd think he would have one but he doesn't. And its not because he doesn't work out his lower half because he has amazing calves (see Round 1 teaser), he just don't have the glutes lol

 

I've watched that teaser so many times. It never gets old.
