Guys! I'm so late hearing those tracks!

 

I'm so optomistic hearing those Dari/Jessu/Inati songs! I've been wondering what M.O.D was I guess its Dari + Jeesu and maybe Inati too. That's quality music right there. They could be kpop legends with the right resources and a bit of luck. Those tracks have a very timeless anthem-y quality to them.

 

I keep listening to 'I Like It' with Jeesu's angelic ass voice. Actually let me just go on a rant about how perfect that song is. As soon as the song started and Jeesu hit that high note I knew I was going to be in love with the song because everything about it is nearly perfect. I know that Dari had a heavy hand in producing the beat because it sounds like some of the music that is on his mixtape especially with those random sound effects like the car skidding and the boing because he loves those and sometimes overuse them but here its tasteful. Can I just say how perfect Inati's rap is? The baby don't cry 너와 헤어진건 mistake one more chance 기회를 줘 내게  can I just say how hot that is? I even like Dari's weird ass singing 나 여기 맨날 오는게 ì•„ëƒ lol.

The only thing that would make it more perfect is if Simon and Donglim were in on it...and of course Dan  

Like I can already imagine which parts Simon, Donglim, and Daniel could sing/rap. Like everything is perfect about it. The vocal, the rap, the structure, the beat, the lyrics. Maybe the song is just okay and I just love it so much because I miss them like crazy.

 

As for 'Healing' I love that one as well. I love all of Jeesu's rifts and runs in that song. His voice is so pretty guys . I can totally tell he produced that song because it sounds like a lot of music from State of Emergency. I also know that he loves the acoustic sound and the percussion is the same as 'Drive' (if you don't believe me play 'Healing' while singing 'Drive' and it works). Damn, I know these boys too well lol

 

Guys I have been feeling so optimistic lately. I started re-watching Manager Goes on Strike and DMTNtv and something told me to go to Dari's twitter and then I encountered this wonderful music, and then I come here and see this:

 

 

Hey ya'll there's an update on the Daniel's case......his last and final trial will be on October 17 at 10am. They said right now he has a chance to escape jail time and might just get probation. But he also has a chance at getting jail time to be made an example out of.  

 

This is the best day I have had in a long time. I'm not going to let you guys make me cry today lol.

 

You know what I think. I think DMTN shouldn't be idols anymore. They are real artists. Everyone in DMTN can compose too except maybe Donglim and I think even he has a small hand in composing (dancing is more of his thing and thats okay). I think they should go more of the indie route. Indie artists like Urban Zakapa and whatnot are really popular and make lots of money anyway. Or they be indie/idol fusion. Hmmm...indie isn't really the word I'm going for but one of those artists/groups that don't go on many variety shows but are still very popular and highly respected for their music. The only problem with that is DMTN kinda need the money.

I couldn't agree with you so much more than I do now. DMTN are just REALLY talented. Beyond idol status. Maybe they get help from Day Day since he's part of the Double Sidekick team. lol I've never really heard K-indie music before, but I heard its more popular than actual kpop.

I'm devastated yet not surprised. I had already mentally prepared myself for this.

 

Fans think they'll be seeing Daniel after 1 year. I definitely don't think we'll being seeing Daniel ever again, not as an idol.

I mean there's still the appeal like Yahnati said but a lighter sentence is pretty farfetched at this point.

 

 

I was not gonna come here today because I was already deeply upset by what happened with UKISS and Daniel and I didn't feel like dealing with nothing today.

But I just wanted to say that I hope 2works for the time being just promote DMTN without Daniel. Its not fair to the other members who didn't do anything to let them just sit back and suffer.

But the question is how much of an asset is DMTN to 2works? They did gain popularity but they are still nugu, and then they might not want to associate themselves with DMTN because of what Daniel did so I fear that they might drop them. Currently I don't think they have any other artists but still they might want to drop DMTN and start all over with new artists.

 

I do think that there is some small hope though. all of the members still seem interested in being musicians/entertainers. I can't see them just giving up. Seeing Dari, Inati, and Jeesu out there still making music makes me feel a like we could see a subgroup form or maybe even the full DMTN without Daniel. I don't think its that much of a stretch for Jeesu to carry the vocals and DMTN to switch to slightly more hip hop. Jeesu was the Main Vocal anyway. Just make Simon Lead Vocal/Sub-Rapper (which is how it was in the original Dalmatian line up before Daniel and Donglim and before Simon left), and then don't discount Donglim, he isn't a horrible singer. He does everything he's supposed to as Vocal and I haven't been let down by him even once. Then just have Dari take Simon's spot as Lead Rapper, since he'll become Lead Vocal/Sub Rapper and Inati stays as Main Rapper. I feel like maybe they got in the studio and released those songs just to kinda test the waters. Yes the vocal will be very soft and airy and the rap with be hard and heavy with that roster but I don't find that unpleasant. That's kind of the direction that hip hop has been going anyway. They can still have their mature style and have it be a little more heavy on the rap side. Actually Simon doesn't have to rap at all, only the parts where a sexy voice is needed like his lines at the beginning of Safety Zone. I think Simon prefers singing anyway, because every time he tweets about songs he likes its rarely rap, usually some r&b song.

I know. When I first heard news of it I knew Daniel would get in trouble but this is pretty much a nightmare come true.

DMTN and Dalmates have had it so rough. I just want them best for them.

I think Jeesu and Donglim can handle vocals...............thats if Simon might have to switch from rapper to singer to help out. And that can leave a good balance of rap parts for Dari and Inati. I mean if DMTN can make it though MC MONG's scandal,then i pretty sure they can make it thought this one. Hopefully. That would disappoint me if 2 works just drop DMTN because it would be unfair to the other members that did nothing wrong. Well,you pretty much said what i was thinking. I think Simon wouldnt mind at all being a vocalist. I like him in either role because he's just that talented. 

 

Yeah,those were the two shittiest days of my life. dongho and Daniel. And not to mention they both were the maknaes in their group. I thought it would be hard to support UKISS and DMTN after this,but i just became a bigger fan because both groups need their fans more than anything now.

I mean think of it this way, groups like 2PM and Block B both only have one good vocalist.  If they can do it why can't DMTN?

Yeah it would be really unfair and disappointing if they dropped DMTN, but if they see DMTN as more of a liability instead an an asset then they might.

 

Yeah the fandom definitely strengthens through things like this. I know that if DMTN ever come back I will support them 100% as much as I can. I didn't do everything I could do to support them as fan. I'm not going to them for granted anymore. I'm going to give them all the support that they deserve.

Yes! Jun.k is a killer vocalist. Amazing. Him and Jeesu-oppa should def sing together. I would hate 2works if they did that to them. Completely. But 2works worked so hard to help daniel and was loyal to Dalmates,so i dont see what reason they would have to drop DMTN.

Yeah Jun.K is a great vocalist. All Block B has is Taeil. Those are groups with over 5 members too, so its not like the group is so small that they were restricted to only having 1 good vocalist. I guess the thing that made Dalmatian stand out when they first debuted was that they had 3 strong vocalists and 3 strong rappers. Nothing can make up for not having Daniel anymore but I think the combined vocal efforts of Donglim and Simon would be close enough (without having to add someone new which although I'm not completely opposed to it, I generally don't like the idea).

 

I wish I could have balloon. I need to get more DMTN merchandise. I won't tell you all of what I have because I don't want to admit how bad of a Dalmate I am

 

Yes I was so happy to see that David supports our dear maknae.

And yeah Simon and Dari oppas are cuties. Dari got more tats. If ever he joins DMTN he won't ever get to wear short sleeves on stage.

I was going through my bias list, and I realized that out of all of the groups I like DMTN would be the oldest with an avg age of 26 or 27 if you add Dari.

[sportsseoul.com | Reporter Lee Gun Hee] Idol group DMTN’s member, Daniel (21.Real name Chae Daniel), who received a prison sentence under the charges of dealing and mediating trade of marijuana, and has been confined in prison, pleaded for favour in tears at the first appeal trial.
On the afternoon of the 19^th (of December), the first appeal trial, supervised by the investigation team (Judge Kim Ju Hyun), took place at the Seoul High Court, Seocho-gu, during which Danial attended in prison uniform and broke down in tears at the time of his closing defense.
He said “Respected Chief Justice, I have done wrong. For the last two months, in a cold and dark place, I cried as I thought of my family and I have reflected on myself. I will not break the law again and I will do my best to live a life of faithâ€. In addition, he also said “Should I be given favourable handling, I will live as a young man who will be of help to the country. Please forgive me,†in his plea for favour.
On this trial day, Daniel’s lawyer disclosed that “The ruling from the first trial was too heavy and so the appeal was raisedâ€. In addition, a petition compiled by Daniel’s mother and an admission letter sent by a university in America was also submitted.
The lawyer argued that “Daniel grew up in America in an adverse environment following his parents’ divorce in addition to other things and upon coming to Korea alone, he had to endure the uncertain lifestyle of entertainment business. By using this incident as an opportunity, he aspires to become an educator for these children so that they would not go on the wrong path and the first step was to be accepted into a university in Americaâ€. He also pleaded for favour on the account that “Daniel’s older sister returned to Korea to look after him and after his release, he will live with her and like a family missionary, she has promised to guide himâ€.
On this trial day, Daniel’s family and friends were in attendance and stayed until the end of the trial. Upon seeing Daniel breaking down in tears, they were moved to tears as well.
The sentence date for the rest of the accused who appealed along with Daniel but were not in attendance will be decided on by the Court of Appeal later on.
The Court of Appeal will decide as Daniel has submitted a letter of apology during all 5 rounds, from when the first trial began up until the trials on the 22^nd, 26^th of last month (November) and the 3^rd, 11^th and 18^th of this month (December).  
Last March, Daniel was booked without detention under the charges of dealing and mediating trade of marijuana with his acquaintances and received his trial at the at the Seong-nam branch of the Suwon District Court in April. During the first trial, he acknowledged all the charges and appeared to have shown remorse but additional charges were exposed in August and the prosecution demanded for a 1-year jail imprisonment term. The final trial on the 17^th of October resulted in a 1-year jail imprisonment term sentence and he was placed under court custody. On the 21^st of the same month, an appeal was raised in protest to the court’s appeal.

If the appeal wins Daniel any further leniency, they'll count the time he's been in jail toward his sentence (or at least I'm pretty sure that's how it works State-side).

Though now I wonder about that comment about military service after his jail sentence was served.

If they back out of that, he might as well just call his career there over and come back to the US.

Inati is the one member I don't understand.

He's random. One minute he'll be all serious and leader-like and the next he'll come out nowhere and do something weird. Its like he randomly have these childish impulses.

 

Yeah, I don't think we can expect him to try to come back as an idol once this is all over. I just want him to gtfo of Korea and start over here in the States.

I  saw  people saying  that's the end of  DMTN but I don't think it is. If it was they would've already disbanded by now. 2works haven't dropped them, none of  the members seem like they've given up, Simon ain't gone back to Japan, Jeesu, Inati, and Dari are still making music, and Donglim is...well Donglim is working out like he's preparing for something (considering Donglim is the member who likes working out the least). So I think we can expect a comeback, its just a matter of when.

In re: Inati - I like the playful side of him... but sometimes it's not so much playful as purely childish.

 

I'm still confused as to why David ever agreed to join a group. I could see him doing it in the early stages, when it was still a strong hip-hop concept, but when the roster changes happened and the concept went from serious hip-hop to *wearing dalmatian costumes*... why the hell did he not back out then? He was probably making good money as a rap trainer.

Haha perhaps but its entertaining every time. When he has kids he'll probably be the type of Dad that always embarrass his kids just for the hell of it

I don't think the wearing dalmatian costumes bothered him as much as things like eating a muskrat dressed in a tuxedo.  I think he probably joined for MC Mong, or maybe Dalmatian didn't reach the level of success he was hoping for soon enough. and figured he could just as much or even more money as a rap trainer/writer/producer. Or either he didn't like the more serious direction the the rest of the group wanted to go with with State of Emergency because I really don't think it was the Round 1/Lover Cop/That Man Opposed concepts that bothered him. He had a lot control over the group musically back then. He did write Round 1 and That Man Opposed afterall, so if he really wanted to he could have shifted the concept a bit.

I'm so happy for Daniel! He is really really LUCKY! I'm so glad he actually owned up to it unlike Bianca. He is  so lucky to have the support of his family, friends, and fans too. Btw I finally realize who this Bianca person is. Eww, I never liked her.

That's kind of bittersweet.

I'm glad he won't serve time in jail, but there was that initial comment about doing military service, and now the comment about university in the US. It's great for him to pursue higher education, but if he backs out of military duty, he might as well never come back to SK (in fact, he could get the Steve Yoo treatment).

I suppose, given his age, that there's time for him to do both... but he would be better off (publicity and netizen-wise) to do the military service and THEN go abroad for college.

I agree. I'm going to need 2works to make an official statement about the group. I am optimistic. I think 2works are standing behind the group. I'm actually more concerned about a member backing out. That would be devastating especially without Daniel, and also given that Dari might not be in the group. Wtf we gonna do with 3 members? Well I guess there are some groups with 3 members like Phantom, Oneway, MFBTY (none are idol groups though). Hopefully the remaining members are still committed to the group. I'm kinda getting paranoid being that Inati, Jeesu, and Dari have kinda been together whereas Simon and Youngwon have been doing their own thing. Neither of them were on the "Healing" and "I like It" tracks that were released a few months ago

I would feel so bad for especially Inati and Dari and Daniel if this group disbanded. I remember Inati saying something along the lines of fearing that the other members would leave him because he feels they're all better than he is. Then Daniel would probably feel like it was his fault for the group disbanding and would have to live with that. As for Dari, he's got two Dalmatian tats.

Hey that's a legitimate concern! LOL I would be mad as hell if after I got a tattoo of something symbolic or meaningful something happens to negate the entire meaning, and then being reminded of it everyday. I guess he could get laser removal or get something over it.

Maybe I am just being overly optimistic but I do think they will have a comeback! However thanks to netizens who simply won't let by gones be by gones I think it will always that tries to bring up the past.

 

My ideal scenario would be DMTN comeback this year, and then Daniel returns after his military duty or when his probation is up and then DMTN release a full album.

He should just go into the military. If that also covers his probation period, all the better, 'cuz if he can't stay out of trouble while enlisted, then he has more problems than we thought.

Though now I wonder about his knee and how that would play into things.

He would get massive kudos from netizens if he gave up his american citizenship to serve in SK's military (which was, iirc, already mentioned as something he would do, even before the initial verdict was handed down), but if he went public service because of his bad knee, they'd shit on him for that.

He better stay out of trouble. I don't know. Is it possible to serve while on probation in Korea?

Oh yeah I was watching their "Drive" performance last night and that made me think of his knee. What was the situation with his knee anyway? I don't think he broke anything so he should be fine by now.
